It probably was just her imagination, but Sofia could've sworn she felt an earthquake just now. She wasn't fond of any disasters in entirety so she felt scared for a split second. But it didn't seem to last long, and so she shrugged it all off and decided to go back to sleep in her nice comfy bed.

With her eyes closed, she imagined all sorts of things to help her sleep. Like counting sheeps or eating ice cream or playing hopscotch with her friends. But before finally falling to slumberland, a certain series of knocks was heard which made her open her eyes once again

At first, she glanced at the door but it wasn't coming from there. It was coming from the side, from the windows even. With this, Sofia got scared as she backed away from the windows.

Who else would knock on her window in the middle of the night and not on her door?

"W-Who's there!?"

"Sofia, it's me. Open up."

In an instant, her worries faded away upon hearing his voice. She then went to the window to open the curtains and it revealed a certain Royal Sorcerer covered in soot and disheveled all over. Probably from another failed experiment again

She opened the windows and her eyes lit up "Mister Ceedric, what happened!?"

"Unfortunately, I accidentally destroyed the roof of the tower when I was trying to fix it earlier. And now I have no place to crash in. I was hoping I could sleep here for the night"

"You wanna sleep in my room?" her eyebrows raised in surprise

Cedric nodded as he then revealed the folded tent he was carrying. "Your room is spacious so I'm pretty sure my tent wouldn't take much space"

"It's either this or in the garden." He added which made Sofia giggle a little bit

"Come in. Let's set up that tent of yours" she then moved to the side to make way for the Sorcerer

Cedric hopped into Sofia's room from the window as he stretched his back. It's been quite a while since he went to Sofia's room and it looks tidy and clean as usual.

"Where would you want to put your tent?" she asked while searching for a spot

"Just in a corner, and don't worry, Sofia. I can do this myself. Go sleep already." Cedric responded as he opened the stands and took out the tent from the bag "I promise I'll be quiet"

Sofia rolled her eyes and went to the spot to start building it with Cedric. It didn't take a while since it was just a mini tent that was suitable for one person. After one remaining zip, Cedric's mini room was finally done

"Thanks Sofia, I owe you one for doing this." He uttered while opening up the zipper and making his way in. He then brought upon the small bag inside that contained a small lamp, a pair of pillows and some books to read

"I guess, it's good night then, Mister Ceedric…" Sofia hummed slow which Cedric responded by laying down on the small cushion and resting his head on the pillow.

"Not yet for me..." he grinned, pulling the books with illustrations close to him to read. He was nowhere near ready for sleeping with that energetic smile on his face

Sofia stood there and stared at him for a couple of seconds before finally making her way back to her bed. She tried to close her eyes and sleep, but for some reason, she couldn't. She sat up and notices the light from Cedric's lamp overlapping the covers of the tent. And there was a shadow of Cedric reading the books

Sofia bit her lip and decided to stand from her rest. There was no way she could sleep anyways knowing Cedric is right there and having fun.

She wanted to be in it too. And so, the princess made her way to his tent once again. But before she could call his name out – Cedric noticed her before she could even do so

"Can't sleep, Sofia?" he asked while flipping a page

"yeah…" she uttered in a sheepish tone "May I come in?"

"You do know this tent can only hold one person right?" he didn't even bother looking at her with him too engrossed with the book

"Don't worry… I'll barely take any space"

But of course, his words meant nothing with the princess crouching down and making her way in his mini confides. She was that small that she was barely taking space in the tent. But it surely ruined Cedric's "Alone" time

Sofia sat down next to Cedric and stared at some of the books laid on the floor. She reached out for one and it was about a dog who can jump and do tricks

Sighing, Cedric turned to his side where a certain girl is laying down on. As if the whole tent wasn't cramped enough

"You have a whole room for yourself and you decide to sneak yourself here?"

"It's comfy here" she didn't hesitate to respond as she reached out for a book about certain stars in the sky "I love this one"

"Well… this is my tent. My castle. And I get to decide who gets to enter my tent" Cedric hissed in a snarky way in an attempt to shoo her away

"I guess… but this is my room. My land. And I get to enter any house that is in MY land, Mister Ceedric." not even bothering to look at him, Sofia just devoted her whole attention to the book

The sorcerer just sighed in response. The little girl was too smart and too snarky for convincing. And with this, he just decided to let things be as it is…

And so, a surge of silence followed with only the flipping of the pages heard from each of them. Cedric was too engrossed reading the books about potions and spells while Sofia was reading about the planets

A few more moments later, Cedric felt something on his shoulder and notices Sofia leaning on him while snoring softly. He sighed in response, but seeing the look on her face, Cedric couldn't bring himself to wake her up

Sofia on the other hand slept with a smile on her lips. With the small space the tent had and how cramped they were, it gave her a nice opportunity to snuggle close to Cedric like this and she took that opportunity by the neck.

Counting multiple sheeps, imagining herself playing hopscotch or some of her favorite foods…

All these things to make her at ease and sleepy, just for her to find solace and comfort being near her dear sorcerer~
