Author's Note: I will continue to refer to Ochako as Carpenter while in Kiwame Quest.

Inko watched in amusement as her son tucked into his lunch like a ravenous wolf. She was sure he'd eaten a good meal for breakfast, but he was a growing boy after all. "So, how is your game going?"

Thankfully, Izuku remembered his manners and swallowed before speaking, "It's going great! I met a girl and we're going to work together to gather fruit to sell at the market."

Inko blinked. That wasn't the answer she'd been expecting at all. "You finished your All Might game already?" Surely it would take more than a few days for Izuku to become bored with a new game, especially one he had been looking forward to for months. More importantly, she wasn't sure what game he was playing. All he owned were hero games.

It seemed as though her question had caught Izuku just as off guard as his comment had to her. It was almost comical the way his eyes widened in shock. "Uh-" he stammered, seeming too startled to answer.

She'd caught him in a lie, and he knew it.

Inko decided to show mercy, "It's okay, Izuku, I'm not worried. Why don't you tell me what happened?"

If anything, her son stiffened up even more, and Inko knew exactly what that meant. She'd have to let Mitsuki know, as soon as she wheedled the truth out of Izuku.

"Izuku, did you buy the new All Might game?" Her son opened his mouth but then closed it before finally shaking his bit back a wince, "You had enough money, didn't you?" It wasn't really a question she needed him to answer, she knew he'd saved up enough.

"I-I did." He admitted, shifting uncomfortably, "B-but I must have lost some of it."

She nodded, not believing a word of it. "I see."

He let out a sigh of relief as she gently urged him to tell her in the future, and that she could have given him some allowance in advance.

Still, she'd only uncovered half of the mystery, "So if you aren't playing the new All Might game, what are you playing?"

The fear returned, even greater than before. He couldn't even look her in the eye as he stammered out a non-answer. "W-well, when I realized I l-lost my money, I-I searched every store in Musutafa trying to find a store that would sell All Might Battle Challenge at a discount, but none of them would, b-but then I came across a little shop and the lady behind the counter said it wouldn't be challenging. W-we argued, but s-she said she had what I needed, b-but when she gave me the game and took my money it was a different game. I tried to return it, but she told me to play it–"

Inko was sure she wasn't able to hide her growing anger. Not only had Izuku been robbed, but he'd also been cheated as well. The nerve of that woman! "Izuku, go to your room and get that game. We'll go and return it and I'll get you All Might Battle Challenge."

"A-ah–" Izuku dithered, looking pale, "B-but, I met someone in the game and they're really nice! I-I'm supposed to go have lunch with them when I log back on!"

Inko blinked.

Was Izuku, her Izuku, turning down her offer to get the new All Might game? Was it because of the girl he'd met in game? Was her little boy growing up?

She felt tears coming but held them back. No, no, she had to focus. If he was really becoming more interested in girls than All Might, she needed to know what was going on. "Alright." She murmured, to his evident relief, "You can keep your game, but I'd still like to know more about it."

Izuku gulped.

"Are you okay?" Carpenter asked, looking at him with concern.

"I'm fine." Izuku tried his best, but all he could do was mumble as he fell into his seat. "I… accidentally told my mom I was going to meet you."

Carpenter's brow knit together in confusion, "And that was bad?"

"I didn't tell her I bought this," He answered plaintively, "she thought I was playing All Might Battle Challenge."

"But–" Her eyes widened, "oh, right, the ZZ rating."

He nodded, "I had to tell her about what I'm doing in the game just so she didn't take the disc. And she's still not sure if she trusts it since it can brick my console."

Carpenter cringed, "Will you get to keep playing?"

"I," Izuku shifted uncomfortably, "managed to convince her."

Carpenter looked at him warily in her chair, and he had to duck his eyes to avoid meeting her gaze, "How'd you do that?"

"I… had to tell her about you."

"Me?" He could see her sitting up straight, "Why would I matter?"

Izuku's cheeks burned, "I don't have many friends." There was Kacchan, sort of, but that was about it. "She was just glad that I met someone to talk to."

He waited for her to laugh at him, to call him a loser, to ditch him.

"I… don't really have many friends either." She admitted, "My family is struggling, and the other girls in my class make fun of me for it."

He looked up, his eyes going wide, "That's why you eat here–" He almost reeled, slamming his hands over his traitorous mouth as Carpenter looked almost as embarrassed as he felt. He forced his hands away, desperate to apologize but unsure what to say.

She held up a hand to stop him, "It's okay."

"It doesn't sound like it." He murmured.

She hesitated for a moment before finally nodding, "No, it doesn't."

Silence descended, and Izuku squirmed in his seat. He'd really screwed this up. Carpenter – Uraraka couldn't even bring herself to look at him. "I really am sorry." He squeaked.

"I'm the one who brought it up," She reminded him, giving him a sheepish look, "to make you feel better."

"Oh." Izuku knew he was blushing, "Right."

Carpenter closed her eyes and took a deep breath, then slammed a fist into her open palm, "Right! Enough of this! The orchard isn't gonna pick itself!"

"Right!" Izuku agreed, relieved for any opportunity to move past the awkwardness.

Carpenter looked pleased with herself, "We should see if the pears are ripe. We'll have to sample a few to make sure."

Izuku nodded, his smile echoing the one that crossed her lips.

All Might ducked under Toxic Chainsaw's attack and launched an uppercut that sent the villain flying before reaching up to grab the villain's feet so he could smash him into the ground–

"OW!" Pain knocked Katsuki out of the gameplay loop and he jerked out of the VR space. "What the hell was that for?"

The hag glowered down at him, "How much did you take from Midoriya?"

He blinked, lips pulling into a scowl. Of course, Izuku would narc. Fucking figures. "I didn't–"

"Don't you lie to me Katsuki, don't you dare!" The hag pointed an accusatory finger into his face, "Izuku wouldn't just lose money the day the new All Might game was released without telling anyone about it, not unless he didn't want to say why he lost it. So how much did you take from him?"

Katsuki glowered right back up at her, before looking away with an annoyed tch, "I took a two thousand yen note."

"Two thousand–Katsuki, damnit!" He could hear the hag working herself up even more, "It's not enough that you treat him like shit, now you're robbing him too? And for what? You had enough for your game!"

Katsuki braced himself for another strike, but the hag reached down and yanked him back by his hair to look at her, "Answer me Katsuki!"

He bristled, scowling as her fingers tightened in his hair, "He doesn't deserve to pretend to be All Might!"

"Is that what you think you little brat?" She snapped at him, "Well, I don't think you deserve to pretend to be All Might either!"

She let go of him but stomped over to the console and ejected the disc, ending his run before he had a chance to finish. "What the hell? What are you going to do?" He shouted as she took it.

"I'm going to take this to a game store and sell it so I can repay the Midoriyas." She answered with a scowl, "Same with the rest of your All Might games."

"You can't do that!" He snapped, but she wheeled around, looming over him.

"Watch me."

Izuku opened his eyes to his darkening room. For a moment, it didn't feel real, as if he was in another game, not Kiwame Quest, but not reality either.

He'd spent his afternoon helping Carpenter–Uraraka.

And she'd been happy too! The pears were perfectly ripe, and they'd picked a bushel to sell as well as a few for themselves. Distracted, he ran a finger over his lip, remembering how the juice had dribbled down his chin.

She'd laughed, but it wasn't the same as when his classmates did it. She clearly hadn't been laughing at him.

Sadly, she hadn't been able to stick around after they delivered their haul to the market. But he'd see her again tomorrow! And that made a world of difference.

That had been hours ago though. He'd gone back to the fields to help Martin and Alicia tend to the crops. Yeah, it was silly, but he couldn't help but be warmed by the smiles on their faces.

It was nice, feeling welcome.

If only the labor wasn't so backbreaking.

Sure, he felt better now, but he hadn't been able to do nearly as much as Martin or Alicia. There had to be a better way of doing it, but just getting in better shape would help too. And his body was still buzzing with the energy that came from the aches and pains of gameplay fading away.

Yes, he thought, getting out of the house and going for a run would be a good idea.

And if he was lucky, maybe he'd even get to see a hero on patrol!

Author's Notes: Just a reminder, Kiwame Quest uses your body as the basis for your character. Thus, improving your physical capabilities outside the game will improve your character in the game. No, Izuku won't be pushing himself the way he did with All Might... but remember that this is set before he meets All Might.

Also no, this isn't the end of consequences. This is only the beginning.
