Author's Note: Considering how long I've made this, I decided to split the first episode into two chapters. That, and it helps separate the song in the first chapter with the song here, which is from the original Ghost and Molly McGee show.

Any and all comments are welcome.

In the span of a few short hours, Molly McGee had already transformed the entire attic into her own personal bedroom. Cobwebs and rotting bugs were replaced with kitten calendars and plush toys. Scratch and Loki didn't like that. The two of them did everything they could to scare Molly out of the house, but nothing they did even rattled her. She just kept singing her song that got on the boys' nerves.

Molly:

Together forever

My best friends and me

We're sticking together

For the rest of eternity

We'll be joined at the hip

Forever and ever

Like an insane surgeon

Sewed us together

'Cause we've got a bond so deep

It touches my soul

And you're never alone

'Cause I live in your heart

Like a parasitic worm

I live in your heart

It's you and I

Best friends for life

With no chance of parole

TOGETHER FOREVER (I'M STICKING WITH YOU)

AND EVER AND EVER (STICKING LIKE GLUE)

BFFS, FUN, WOW

IT'S GONNA BEEEEEEE

MY BEST FRIENDS AND ME

PERMANENTLY

Loki exasperated in complete frustration when Molly finished decorating her new room. "I give up."

"What if I ask nicely?" Scratch asked desperately. "Then, will you leave?"

"Sorry, but we can't do that." Molly said. "You see, my dad's the new city planner for Brighton. We've had to move around a lot and I never stuck around enough to make any friends. But this time, it's different. Brighton is our forever home and I've already got two cool best friends: a ghost and a god!"

Loki yelled out. "I'm the God of Mischief! My whole thing is pulling pranks on people and making them miserable! Doesn't that bother you?"

"Nope." Molly said.

"Really?"

"Really, really."

"That's it!" Scratch yelled. "If you're in, then I'm out!" He phased right through the window flying fast as a bullet.

"Smart ghost." Loki said.

"Oh, no. I did the too-friendly thing again." Molly said as she opened the window. "COME BACK, SCRATCH!"

Suddenly, a blue aura surrounded the ghost. He tried to fight it, but an invisible force shot him back where he came from. He immediately returned to the bedroom completely caught by surprise.

"What happened?" Loki asked.

"Oh, no! The curse is worse than I thought!" Scratch gasped. "As soon as Molly called for me, I was forced back to her!"

"WHAAAAAAT?!" Molly yelled happily. "You mean that you have to come to me every time I say your name? BEST CURSE EVER! Automatic friendship!"

Loki chuckled. "Well, enjoy your new roommate, Scratch. Because now, it's my turn to bail." He jumped through the open window.

"What? No!" Scratch gasped. "Loki, come on! We're partners, remember? We're supposed to share everything?"

Molly's eyes began to brighten up and a smile formed on her face. "Everything? In that case… Oh, Loki!"

Suddenly, a poof of green smoke blew up in the middle of the bedroom. Loki reappeared from that smoke just as confused as Scratch was a second earlier.

"Wow! It works on you too!" Molly cheered. "This friendship just keeps getting better and better!"

"What the Helheim is going on?" Loki asked. "Scratch, why is this happening?"

"Uh… Well…" Scratch said, "I think it might have something to do with us being partners."

"What are you talking about?"

"Remember when the Ghost Council bound us to work together? Well, they tied our fates together. That's why if I get sent to the Flow of Failed Phantoms, so do you. So if I'm cursed, so are you."

Loki's eye twitched. "Are you telling me that you cursed the both of us to be tied to that smiling nutjob? Get rid of this curse, Scratch!"

"If I could, I'd have done so minutes ago." Scratch said. "But I don't know how. But if there's anyone who would know…" He opened up a portal which he and Loki both jumped through.

"Wait, guys!" Molly yelled out just as the portal closed. "Oh, dang."

Lady Death sat in her wide garden of black, lifeless flowers. She raised her hand up and snapped her fingers. At the very same time, a whole new soul descended from the sky and joined the wide array of ghosts below. She watched from above just as a portal opened behind her. She sighed as she turned and saw Scratch and Loki enter.

"Scratch, for the final time, I am not going to pull some strings and get you into that high elite club." Death said. "And for the record, having Loki with you won't help."

"It's not about that, your deadliness." Scratch said. "Look… I have this friend that…"

"Oh, stop beating around the bush, you idiot. It's your fault we're in this mess." Loki interrupted turning to Death. "A human moved into the house and Scratch accidentally cursed us both to be with her."

Death laughed. "You cursed yourselves."

"No! Scratch cursed himself and me." Loki said.

"We get it." Scratch said. "So, ma'am, how do we get rid of this curse?"

"You just have to let it run its course. Once your curse is fulfilled, it'll fade away."

"And how long will that take?" Loki asked.

"Well, it depends on the curse. Let me see." Death snapped her fingers and a scroll floated up and opened in front of her. "'Wherever you go, whatever you do, I'll be there'? Wow. You casted this curse on purpose? Well, thankfully, you managed to create an escape clause: this first line here, 'If you don't leave…' All you have to do is scare the human so much, she'll move out of the house. Once that happens, the curse will be fulfilled."

"Okay, that does sound like a good idea," Scratch said, "But that's the hard part. This girl, she's just impossible to scare."

That's when an idea flashed in Loki's head. He smiled as he brainstormed a solution. "But perhaps the rest of her family isn't so courageous. Molly McGee may be stubborn, but I bet even she listens to her parents when they decide to move out of the house."

"So if we can't scare Molly, we'll just scare the parents!" Scratch said ecstatically. "That's definitely something we can do!"

Pete and Sharon McGee, as well as their youngest kid, Darryl, were almost finished setting things up in the kitchen. They were right in the middle of putting up the cereal, but right when Pete opened up the last cabinet, Scratch was waiting for him with a gross green face and a demonic expression.

The McGee family screamed as Scratch popped out making a menacing show for everyone. He sent bats into the air to make them panic.

"WHAT'S HAPPENING!" Sharon yelled.

"I DON'T KNOW!" Pete replied pulling out his phone. "I'M CALLING THE POLICE!" But before he could dial a number, a hissing sound stopped him.

A green snake crawled out from behind the microwave and snapped its jaws right near Pete's hand making him drop his phone. The snake then landed on the ground in front of the family and began to change its appearance. Loki took its place and chuckled menacingly.

"So you want to live here?" Loki asked as he pulled out a dagger in each hand. "Consider this… A HOUSEWARMING PARTY!" He swung his daggers around into the air. He didn't intend to kill them, but it sure made them scream and run.

"WE GOTTA MOVE OUT!" Sharon yelled leading her family to the front door. The plan was working perfectly, until…

"STOP!" Molly yelled out standing in her family's way. They stopped when she arrived. "Sorry. I see you met my new friends, Scratch and Loki."

"Friends?" Pete asked. "They're trying to hurt us!"

"Oh, they're just cranky." Molly said. Loki tried to step in, but she grabbed him by his wrist and pulled him to her making him drop his daggers.

"Hey! If your family wants to go, they can go." Loki said.

"Yeah, what he said." Scratch said.

"Guys, I know these two are scary, but we can live with them. I mean, Daryl, believe it or not, you and Loki have more in common than you think. He's a bit of a troublemaker where he's from too."

"Cool." Daryl said turning to the Trickster. "Hey, did you ever ride a shopping cart right onto a buffet table too?"

"It was actually a shield and it landed on my brother's head," Loki said before remembering what he was trying to do, "But that's not the point!"

"And Dad," Molly said, "You always told us not to judge people because they are different. How are a ghost and a wizard any different?"

"I did say that." Pete said.

"And I'm not a wizard. I'm a master of magic." Loki corrected.

"Same thing." Molly said. "And Mom, you…"

"Way ahead of you." Sharon said pulling out her phone. "I'm calling the realtor to get some money back. No one ever mentioned a ghost here."

"What… is… WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!" Scratch yelled out roaring and floating away.

Loki shared in the ghost's frustration. "I have sent over a hundred different people to shameful humiliation throughout the Nine Realms. How is it possible that I can't affect FOUR INSIGNIFICANT MORTALS?!" He stomped back upstairs.

Molly smiled at her family. "I think they're starting to warm up to you guys."

Though he knew it wasn't even worth a try, Scratch kept trying to scare Molly out. He continued to spiral over Molly's head while she was chatting to her Grandma Nin over the phone. Scratch moaned eerily, but Molly never cared. And neither did Loki, who slouched in a chair at the corner.

"The new house is amazing, Grandma Nin. It even comes with two special housemates. One is a ghost and one is a legendary Norse god named Loki. They're my best friends."

"WE ARE NOT FRIENDS, GRANDMA NIN!" Scratch denied in his eerie tone.

"More like we're cursed together." Loki groaned. "Strange thing is, you don't seem to be phased by all this."

"Oh, it's nothing new." Grandma Nin said. "Back at Thailand, we have a lot of ghosts. Though, we have no relation to anything Norse. Norway is all the way in another continent. But I can offer some advice about your ghost. Have you ever heard of San Phra Phum?"

"No." Molly said. "What's that?"

"It's a little house you build in your home to honor your ghost."

Scratch stopped his spiraling and turned his attention to Nin in an instant. "Tell me more about this house thing?"

"Hey, I think I have just the thing." Molly said. She reached in her toy bag and pulled out a miniature house. "How's this?"

Scratch shrunk down and explored the house that Molly presented. "Hmm. Nice. Cozy. I suppose I can work with this."

"What about me?" Loki asked. "Not sure if you noticed, but I can't exactly fit."

"Well, have you got any spare bedrooms?" Nin asked.

"As a matter of fact, I think we do." Molly said. "Yeah, it's right downstairs."

Loki sighed. "Well, it's better than nothing I guess."

"So… does that mean you'll let us stay?" Molly asked.

"On a trial basis." Scratch said.

"And don't get in our way when we do something." Loki said. "I'm on the verge of getting my life back, and I'm not letting this ridiculously happy attitude of yours mess it up."

"So you're dead?" Molly asked. "I thought gods couldn't die."

Loki sighed. "Asgardians aren't necessarily gods. We live and die like everyone else, give or take five thousand years."

"So how did you die?" Molly asked.

"I'd rather not talk about it."

Down at Death's domain, the mistress herself noticed a strange abnormality. The misery/happiness meter on Brighton began to change. But instead of it going on the red side like it should be, it inched a little bit closer to the blue side. Death looked at it and clicked her tongue.

"Oh, Scratch and Loki. Just what have you two gotten yourselves into?"
