Chapter 26 (Olympia)
When she returned to the locker room, Scarlette placed a cold towel over her face taking a rest. She enjoyed the moist feeling coming from it. That's when she heard the knock on the door. She removed the towel from her face and looked up having a pretty good idea who it was.
"Come in."
Just as she predicted, Jason Mancini walked in with a large poster of his favorite wrestler in his hands. He smiled and was almost at a loss for words.
"Oh, my goodness." He muttered excitedly. "It's you. You're her."
Scarlette chuckled as she went on pretending she never met him. "So you must be the sweepstakes winner. I assume you want an autograph?"
"Yes, please!" he presented the poster which the red masked wrestler accepted. "Just put 'to my biggest fan, Jason Mancini',"
Scarlette smiled as she wrote it down as he requested. She gave it back to him as he was overwhelmed with joy.
"Thank you! This will go down for generations as a family heirloom!"
Behind her smile, she was deep in her thoughts. "Sounds like someone's been bingeing My Hero Academia again." She looked at the clock and stood up. "Well, great to meet you, Jason. I've got to go and catch my boss' match. Most of the roster's going to see it." She put on her jacket and exited the locker room.
"See you!" he called out. Suddenly, the sound of running water that he just noticed stopped. Carly X sighed as she walked out of the shower room with a red towel wrapped around her body.
"Finally, got the smell of trash out of my…" she stopped herself and blushed when she noticed Jason standing there with red in his cheeks. She blushed too as she yelled. She grabbed a shoe and threw it at him. He turned around and put his arms on his head. "WHO ARE YOU?! YOU PERVERT!"
"I'M NOT A PERVERT!" Jason shouted. "I HAD NO IDEA SOMEONE WAS IN THE SHOWER ROOM!"
"WHY YOU…" Carly growled as she held onto her towel tightly. "Hang on. I know you. You're that fanboy I met earlier."
"Hey, I have a name! It's Jason!"
"What are you even doing here?"
"I was trying to get Scarlette's autograph! She just left!"
Carly sighed. "Just get out before I hit you with the DDT-X."
"Sorry again!" Jason went to the door and exited the room. Carly was left in the room.
"I suppose it's my own fault for not saying I was leaving. I should probably apologize to the fanboy later."
*Sayuri Rogue vs Mother Devil*
The arena was black as midnight at first. Then, the entrance stage gave a dark-red light revealing Sayuri Rogue wearing her black jacket and her red-eyed, red-fanged, black demon mask. She moved toward the ring and removed both the jacket and the mask revealing her outfit. Mother Devil came next showing off her display of size and power. The crowd screamed in anticipation of the match.
"Is anyone else excited about this match, because I sure am! Sayuri Rogue, former Shangri-La World Champion, multi-millionaire, and CEO of Xtrema, will be facing off against Mother Devil, one of the strongest female pro-wrestlers in Japan! The last time Ms. Rogue was in the ring, she easily put Mercy in her place for insubordination! Now, it is time for her to match her might against Mother Devil!"
DING-DING!
Both contenders circled around each other waiting for a chance to strike. Mother Devil definitely had size and strength, but Sayuri Rogue had natural talent. Both women knew each other's strengths and waited for the advantage.
Mother Devil started it with an attempt to grab Sayuri, but she rolled out of the way behind her. She capitalized by kicking the back of Mother Devil's legs making her kneel down. Sayuri jumped up on Mother Devil's back and applied the sleeper hold. Mother Devil struggled to escape, but she found another way. She reached back to grab the back of Sayuri's head and run backwards toward the corner.
Sayuri saw the two of them heading toward the corner. She couldn't break out of Mother Devil's grip, so she used an alternative method. Instead of jumping off of Mother Devil's back, Sayuri kicked her legs up backward and while Mother Devil collided with the turnbuckles, Sayuri Rogue was over them and planted her feet on the steel post. Sayuri then jumped off of the post still holding onto Mother Devil's head landing her with a bulldog. She followed by hooking the leg, but she noticed something strange about the referee's counting.
"Onetwoth…"
Sayuri got up and grabbed the referee by her wrist stopping the fast count. "What do you think you're doing?"
"Uh… counting?" the referee asked.
"Seems like you're trying to help me win." Sayuri said as she got off of Mother Devil.
"Is that not what you want?"
"No! Look, I may be your boss, but for now, in this ring, I am a wrestler first. I won't fire you for making this a fair fight. So fast count if I'm winning and no slow count if I'm losing. I pay you to be a fair referee. For now, treat me like a wrestler."
"If you insist!" Mother Devil shouted as she got behind Sayuri and quickly wrapped her arms around her stomach. She bent backwards and dropped Sayuri with a German suplex. Mother Devil hooked her leg for the pin. Thankfully, the referee was fair.
1… 2…
Sayuri Rogue kicked out. Mother Devil laid herself next to the Xtrema CEO and locked her in a bodyscissor hold. Sayuri grit her teeth as she endured the lock waiting for an escape. After a minute, Mother Devil let go and threw Sayuri to the corner. She ran to her and splashed her body on the CEO. Sayuri dropped into a seated position.
"Don't take this personally." Mother Devil said as she lifted Sayuri by her hair. "After all, you're a wrestler in this ring." She attempted to lift Sayuri and powerbomb her, but as she lifted her up, Rogue escaped and landed behind her.
"And don't you forget it!" Sayuri responded as she grabbed Mother Devil's head and slammed it to the floor.
Sayuri leaped off the ropes and landed full-body on her opponent's body. She then wrapped her arm around her head and her in a crossface chicken wing.
"Give up!" the referee asked.
"No!" Mother Devil shouted as she powered her way out of the hold.
Sayuri was nearly blown to the corner. Her opponent charged at her, but the CEO dodged out of the way letting Mother Devil hit the corner again. Sayuri climbed up the ropes in a hurry and attempted a splash on her, but Mother Devil caught her in a bearhug.
"Don't be shy. Mother just wants a hug." Mother Devil taunted as she squeezed her arms around Sayuri Rogue's body. The caught wrestler did her best not to yell in pain. That's when Mother Devil flipped her over and landed a tombstone piledriver that shook the ring. She held down both of Sayuri's arms for the pin.
1… 2…
Sayuri Rogue kicked out. Mother Devil whipped her to the ropes and attempted a lariat, but Sayuri ducked and stood behind her. She gripped Mother Devil's chin as they were back-to-back and she jumped down landing her signature gory neckbreaker, Downfall. The crowd cheered for they have not seen that trick in some time. Sayuri hooked Mother Devil's leg for the pin confident in her win.
1… 2…
Much to everyone's surprise, even Sayuri Rogue's, Mother Devil managed to kick out of the pin. The CEO sighed in exhaustion when she pulled Mother Devil to her feet. Suddenly, Mother Devil powered up and pushed Sayuri to the corner. With both wrestlers tired, Mother Devil slowly began to raise her hands up. When Sayuri charged at her, her opponent struck her with her signature Devil Mother Chop stunning her in place. Mother Devil grinned as she wrapped her fingers around Sayuri's throat, lifted her up, and slammed her in a chokeslam. That's when she hooked Sayuri's leg again.
1… 2…
The crowd fell silent when Sayuri kicked out. Mother Devil was furious. She argued with the referee while Sayuri slowly got back up on her feet. The wrestlers faced each other one more time, both wanting to end this match.
Mother Devil grabbed Sayuri and set her up with a powerbomb, but Sayuri escaped from it and slid down Mother Devil's back. On the way down, she grabbed Mother Devil's head again connecting once again her Downfall. Mother Devil still stood, so Sayuri grabbed her head and connected again. She did it one more time before Mother Devil fell to her back. Sayuri fell right on top of her opponent with her arm laid across her shoulders.
1… 2… 3!
DING-DING!
"AMAZING! SPECTACULAR! After a long, arduous trial, Sayuri Rogue managed to show everyone that she's the boss! It's gonna be hard for the main event to top this off, but I'm still looking forward to it!"
Sayuri slowly got back up to her feet and raised her fist to the loud applause coming from the crowd.
In the backstage hallway, Jason caught his breath after seeing the epic conclusion of the match that just ended. That's when Carly X showed up.
"Hey, fanboy." Carly greeted.
"Oh, hi." Jason said. "Are you going to throw something at me again?"
"No, of course not." Carly said. "Sorry about all that. I'm just a bit on edge. I mean, after I defeated Neko Girl, I'm half-expecting her, or her mother, or both to ambush me."
"Yeah, that was pretty brutal. But I'm sure you can handle anything like that. I mean, it's like Scarlette said…"
"What's your whole thing with Scarlette anyway?" Carly interrupted. "I get it, she's a great wrestler, but you know he's probably twice as old as you, right?"
"I'm not looking for a romantic relationship with her." Jason said. "I don't know why, but there's something about her that I admire. I was a little hurt when she lost to Diana Diaz, but my faith in her was completely restored when she defeated Mercy earlier. Hopefully, Sayuri Rogue will give her more matches in the future."
Carly smiled at the fanboy. Then, the two of them noticed Thunder Mana passing by. She and Carly exchanged blank expressions before Mana moved on.
"She must be heading to her match." Jason said. He noticed Carly's frown. "Is something wrong?"
"Well… it's about the rumors about her." Carly replied. "I know Mana. She's been training me ever since I arrived. She's been pretty much my only friend even though I was the daughter of GWM's CEO. It's hard for me to see her cheating."
"Well, if you want to know for sure, you can watch here." Jason said as he patted the seat next to him.
Carly smiled. "Thanks, fanboy." She sat next to Jason and watched as the main event was about to begin.
*Queen Bee vs Thunder Mana*
This was the final match of the first PPV. Olympia would end with quite a heated rivalry in one of the most hardcore matches ever. The ring was tables, ladders, and chairs, and hanging above the ring was the new Xtrema World Championship belt ready to be removed and claimed.
Thunder Mana entered the ring with the crowd throwing boos at her. He didn't like the public disapproval, but she went on to endure it. With the boos toward Thunder Mana's direction, the praise and cheers directed to Queen Bee grew stronger. As she entered the ring, the two opponents met up with each other in the center.
"This is it, everyone! The last match of Olympia, a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match! Whoever climbs to the belt and unhooks it will be the first ever Xtrema World Champion! These two had a short, but very heated rivalry! Just a short while ago, during their last match, a mysterious woman appeared and helped Thunder Mana win! The woman didn't get a lot of praise after that, but now she is here! Will Queen Bee still call herself champion or will Thunder Mana make her claim in this league!"
"Bee, you need to listen to me." Thunder Mana said. "The masked wo…"
SMACK!
The ace shut her up with a sudden slap across her face. Thunder Mana was stunned as she rubbed her sore cheek.
"That's 'Queen' Bee to you, Thunder Man-Hands! And I don't care what you have to say! You excuses won't save you!"
Thunder Mana sighed as she regained her composure. "Fine. Have it your way then."
The referee got in between the two and sent them to their respective corners. Once she saw that they were ready, she called for the bell.
DING-DING!
Queen Bee began the bout with a running strike. She jumped up and swung a knee at her opponent's face. Before it could connect, however, Thunder Mana caught the leg and brought her down. She applied the knee bar, but Queen Bee quickly got out of that by kicking her in the face.
As Thunder Mana started to get up, Queen Bee hit her with a dropkick that sent her to the bottom turnbuckle. The ace used the ropes to hover above her opponent before dropping her feet on her chest.
Queen Bee got outside of the ring and pulled out a steel chair. She dropped it and pulled out another. By the time Thunder Mana returned to her feet, Queen Bee had stacked a dozen steel chairs on top of each other. Thunder Mana attempted a sliding kick, but Queen Bee dodged it and barraged her body with several elbow strikes until she was completely out of the ring.
Queen Bee had dragged Thunder Mana on top of the chairs preparing to hit her with a DDT, but Thunder Mana countered it and punched her across the face. Queen Bee was stopped when she hit the wooden table behind her. She growled before attempting a big boot kick. Thunder Mana caught that in time and tripped her landing her right on top of the steel chairs she had set up.
Thunder Mana took the opportunity and ran to one of the ladders. She folded it up and slid it back into the ring. That was when Queen Bee got back up, picked up a chair, and went into the ring before her opponent. As soon as Thunder Mana got inside of the ring, Queen Bee bombarded her with multiple chair shots. Once the chair had too many dents, she threw it away and attacked her body with her own feet.
Queen Bee picked up the ladder and set it up right underneath the belt. She was about to climb it when she noticed Thunder Mana starting to get up. She decided to hold of on getting the belt and attack her with a lariat. Thunder Mana saw it coming and dodged out of the way sending Queen Bee over the ropes and landing on the apron. Thunder Mana seized the momentum and connected a swinging backfist that knocked Queen Bee to her side on top of the apron.
Thunder Mana was exhausted, but she knew she couldn't just stand there. She turned to the ladder and gripped its rungs. Despite the crowd's protest, she still moved upward. But it wasn't long before Queen Bee got back up and stopped Thunder Mana by grabbing her ankle. She tripped her backwards, but still had her leg through the rungs. She grabbed her other leg and placed her in a figure four leglock through the ladder rungs. Thunder Mana couldn't help but yell in pain.
When Queen Bee let go, Thunder Mana landed on the mat gripping her leg. Seeing that she may have done enough, Queen Bee proceeded up the ladder. She managed to get within arm's reach of the belt. But before she could touch it, the ladder started to shake. It was pushed to the side and Queen Bee fell off landing on the mat. She looked at the pusher recognizing her to be the masked woman from before.
The masked woman picked up the folded ladder and rammed it right at Queen Bee's face. When Queen Bee fell, the masked woman placed the ladder right on top of her. She then climbed up the top rope and jumped landing her feet on the ladder right on top of the Xtrema ace. The masked woman went outside of the ring and folded up a table before bringing it in. She set it up on the corner, picked up Queen Bee, and carefully laid her on top of it. That's when Thunder Mana got back up and saw the situation.
"STOP!" she shouted. "STOP, AOIFE!"
The masked woman stopped and turned her head to Thunder Mana. She reached the back of her mask and untied it. She slowly took it off revealing her messy, orange hair and blue eyes. The crowd was certainly surprised at the revelation…
…Including Jason who jumped up from his chair. "No way! It's Aoife Leavy!"
"I'm sorry. Is that a real name?" Carly asked. "Who is that?"
"The werewolf berserker, one of the most hardcore wrestlers in GWM." Jason said. "She was one of Thunder Mana's greatest rivals, but no one's seen her since they were both injured in their last title match. I heard they were both denied reentry into GWM after they finished physical therapy."
"So what's she doing here?" Carly asked.
"What are you doing here, Aoife?" Thunder Mana asked. "This is my match!"
"Aye, and I'm making sure it's yours to win." Aoife said.
"But why?" Mana asked. "I know you're a heel and everything, but you're a fair one and you hate it when someone breaks the rules."
"Believe me, I don't like doing this, but it's necessary." Aoife said. "It's the only way we're ever gonna get our old lives back."
"What are you talking about?"
"Queen Bee here made Miss X mad, so she made me a deal I couldn't refuse. And believe it or not, it's something that will benefit you too."
"What deal?"
Aoife placed her foot on top of the folded ladder and kicked it to Thunder Mana's feet. "Take the ladder, get up there, and take that belt! Then, right after, you throw it away and announce that you're done with this place! After you quit, Miss X will hire you back into GWM just like she hired me back!"
"What?" Thunder Mana was in shock. "But it's not right."
"Mana, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. This is the only way Miss X will let you come back, and honestly, I need you back as well. You're the best opponent I've ever had and I'd do anything for you to come back. This is the only way for things to get back to how they used to be, so climb up and get that belt while I finish off Queen Bee."
Thunder Mana was stunned. The more she thought about it, the more she realized she was right. Miss X would never give this chance again. But still…
Right before Aoife could spear Queen Bee through the table, she was stopped when Thunder Mana grabbed her shoulder.
"Not on your life." She said. Much to everyone's surprise, she then lifted Queen Bee from the table and carefully stood her beside it while she came back to.
"What are you doing?" Aoife asked. "You're supposed to…"
"I'm supposed to win fairly!" Thunder Mana interrupted. "And last I checked, you're not an Xtrema wrestler, so you don't belong in this ring!"
Before Aoife could respond, her old rival surprised her with her signature spear that crashed her on top of the ladder on the floor. Queen Bee regained her senses and widened her eyes as Thunder Mana stood back on her feet.
"So… you didn't set this up." Queen Bee said.
"Of course not. I may want the title, but I'm not a cheat. So what do you say?" She pulled out her hand. "Shall we finish this fairly?"
Queen Bee stared for a moment. During that, security had come in and dragged Aoife Leavy out of the ring. As soon as she was gone, Queen Bee smiled and accepted the handshake. The crowd certainly cheered at this friendly competition.
The two wrestlers took a few steps away from each other before charging at each other with fighting spirit burning in their eyes. They both had a heated exchange of punches that knocked them both further down. Eventually, Queen Bee gained the advantage and kicked Thunder Mana backwards. She was stunned for a minute just long enough for the ace to pick up the ladder. She ran with it right on Thunder Mana's torso catching her by surprise and pushing her over the top ropes.
Queen Bee stood for a minute to catch her breath before heading to the middle of the ring. She slowly set up the ladder under the suspended belt. She climbed up the steps rung by rung until the title was within arm's length again. She reached out to grab it only for Thunder Mana to catch up standing on the other side of the ladder. She grabbed Queen Bee's wrist and attempted to push her off, but the ace stopped and pushed back. Both women struggled their hardest before Queen Bee noticed the table that was still prompted in the corner behind Mana.
Queen Bee climbed one last rung giving her the advantage. Soon enough, Queen Bee managed to push Thunder Mana off. She fell backwards right through the table in the corner. With her finally fallen, Queen Bee reached out, unhooked the belt, and raised it above her head for the world to see.
DING-DING!
"PHENOMENAL! WHAT A MAIN EVENT! This match was something else! Despite the interference of the masked woman, who we now see as Aoife Leavy, the match still went on fairly! In the end, Queen Bee rose up and became the first ever Xtrema World Champion!"
The crowd cheered while Queen Bee climbed down the ladder with her newly won belt. Thunder Mana was just recovering from the table crash when Queen Bee held out her hand helping her up.
"Good match," Queen Bee said, "And… sorry for accusing you of cheating."
"I don't blame you. If our roles were reversed, I'd probably do the same."
"Let's try a real match sometime. Only without the crazy wrestlers from our pasts coming in."
"I can't promise that. I've know a lot of GWM divas, and Aoife was the one I could tolerate the most."
"I bet. Which reminds me, I was hoping to pick your brain about Queen Elizabeth."
"I don't know a lot, but sure."
"Good, but not now. First things first…"
Queen Bee and Thunder Mana held their fists up to the loud applause of the approving crowd. After that, Sayuri Rogue returned to the ring in her wrestling outfit. She walked straight acting like she hasn't been in a fight earlier. She guided Queen Bee and Thunder Mana out of the ring while picking up her microphone.
"Thank you, everyone! I hope you all enjoyed this night of epic matches! Your support is what made Olympia possible, and it's your support that's going to grow Xtrema to great heights! We'll see you next time with even more matches! Thank you everyone and good night!"
Jason and Carly were both at a loss for words. They stayed silent for a minute before jumping out of their chairs in joy.
"That was awesome!" Jason shouted.
"I know!" Carly replied. Without thinking, she jumped and hugged her arms around Jason's shoulders. That's when she did begin to think and blushed along with Jason. She released him and cleared her throat. "So…"
"So…" Jason said trying to look for an escape. "I… I better go check on my dad." He turned to walk away.
"Oh, sure. See ya!" Carly called out before sighing silently with a smile. "Nice to meet you, fanboy."
Outside the arena, Natsuki Okumura found the chance to pull out his phone and give his partner a call.
"Hello?" Kanae asked.
"Hey, Kanae. Olympia's over."
"Oh, really? And how was it?"
"Well, Platinum Mask unmasked Black Swan, Carly X left Neko Girl in the trash, Kaito Marx actually beat the Skunk via countout, Eris kissed her way into victory, Scarlette made a great comeback in her career, Diaz and Poison dominated in the Tag Team Championship match, Sayuri Rogue won her tough match against Mother Devil, and Queen Bee won the World Championship. I'll give you more details tomorrow."
"Sounds great."
"And what about you? You were covering that Berserk show? Anything I should know?"
"Well, yes. Miraculously, Sakura's luck is beginning to change."
"Really? You mean she actually won?"
"No. Kurea still beat her, but Sakura stopped submitting to the Boston crab. That's a good start. I'll tell you more at our meeting."
"Awesome. It's a date." Natsuki hung up before realizing what he just said. "Oops. Hehe."
Watching the event from her office, Miss X really hated the events in the middle of the main event. She was so upset, she crushed the glass cup in her hand.
"That idiot! Why didn't she take her opportunity? Is she trying to…"
"Miss X?" Lady asked. "It's Sayuri Rogue. She's trying to call you."
Miss X sighed before taking her phone and holding it up to her ear. "Hello."
"Miss X," Sayuri said sternly from the other side of the line, "We need to talk."
Author's Note: And so concludes my first ever PPV. I really worked hard on these matches and I hope you appreciate it. For those of you who don't know who Aoife Leavy is, she is an OC created by Awesome ax10, who has agreed to let me use her for my story. I hope I did thier character well enough for them.
Now that this is done, I can focus on my next part: the Halloween special. Like my Summer Special, this will be non-canon, there will be nine matches, and all but one of them will have special rules with a Halloween theme. I'm still working on it. If anyone has any ideas, let me know. So far, I have a normal match, an inferno match, a haunted house escape match, and a graveyard-setting no-holds-barred brawl. If anyone has any other ideas, let me know before then. I'm also looking for a guest wrestler too. If anyone has an idea, let me know.
Any and all comments are welcome.
