Chapter 66 (Daily)
Just outside of Clean Pier Hall, Dawn Sawyer and Kaito Marx had passed through a festival being built. Once they were inside, they examined the other wrestlers. Other wrestlers that attended included Tiger Mask, Ryu Wakamatsu, Yuji Nagata, Spring Tiger, Candy Pair, Viper Takagi, and others.
"Well, this is an impressive spread." Dawn said.
"I know." Kaito agreed. "I've always wanted to see Tiger Mask in person."
One member of the Candy Pair team, Mint, locked her eyes on Dawn. "Wow! You're Queen Bee!" She, Milk, and Spring Tiger approached her.
"Fans, I see." Dawn greeted.
"It's great to meet you here." Milk said.
"So you're the famous Queen Bee of Xtrema." Spring Tiger said. "Who's this other guy?"
"Um, hi. I'm Kaito Marx. I'm Bee's boyfriend. I'm just here for support."
Queen Bee paused to meet Spring Tiger. "So you must be Spring Tiger, the girl who stuck it to Miss X."
Spring Tiger nodded. "Didn't think I'd have someone like you as a fan."
"You don't." Queen Bee said. "You were also kicked around by Queen Elizabeth and honestly, you looked taller on TV."
"What?" Spring Tiger yelled out. "You wanna say that again?"
"Why? Did you forget already?" Queen Bee asked.
"Ladies, calm down!" Kaito shouted. "My queen, what's up with you?"
"I don't know." Queen Bee said. "I guess there's something about brash rookies like this tiger wannabe here that gets on my nerves."
"You know what? I'm hoping I get to face off against you!" Spring Tiger challenged.
"Enough already!"
It was a new woman's voice, one that made Dawn widen her eyes as she turned them. She was a tall woman with a lean, slightly muscular figure and long, brown hair. She wore a black WCW Monday Nitro T-Shirt along with a Y2J black leather jacket above her brown dress pants and black shows. Lastly, she wore a black NWO cap.
"Lyra!" Queen Bee greeted giving her old mentor a handshake. "Long time, no see!"
"Dawn, still picking fights, I see." Lyra said. "Let me guess, Fukuwara Mask didn't ask for your permission until after he printed that flyer."
"You too?" Queen Bee asked.
"Yeah. I just spoke with Yuji Nagata, and apparently, this is a typical Fukuwara Mask thing to do. He didn't ask for their permission either." Lyra said.
"And I thought the tiger girl here was impulsive." Queen Bee said.
"I heard that!"
"Oh, and Lyra," Queen Bee said before gesturing her hands to Kaito, "I believe you've heard of Kaito Marx here."
"Oh, right." Lyra said shaking the male wrestler's hand. "I'm guessing the whole "manservant-type-of-boyfriend" thing is just kayfabe?"
"Yeah." Kaito answered. "Bee doesn't want to lean her status too much to the face category with her caring about me."
"Same Dawn. You wish to be a tweener like me." Lyra said.
"Well, it's actually a lot more fun." Queen Bee said. "Besides, with my attitude, I think a tweener is perfect for me."
Everyone stopped mingling when Fukuwara Mask walked up to everybody. He made his announcement while making comical bows.
"You all, thanks for coming all the way out here. Thank you so much!"
"No need." Tiger Mask said. "I just want to repay you for what you've done for me."
"And don't forget, you promised me a match against Liz." Queen Bee said.
"And make sure I get paid, okay?" Spring Tiger asked.
"I think enough's been said." Queen Bee told the masked wrestler.
"Hey! I'm not the one obsessed over facing one opponent!" Spring Tiger shouted.
"When you're older and actually be a more experienced wrestler, you'll see that stuff like that is common." Queen Bee said. "I mean, I can tell you fantasize about a rematch against X."
"Settle down!" Fukuwara Mask shouted. "As entertaining as this match-up could be, I think we need to address the elephant in the room. As I mentioned, the audience will vote for today's MVP. The MVP will win 10 million!"
Most of the wrestlers opened their mouths in shock. Spring Tiger seemed like the only person who wasn't surprised. In fact, she had a confident smirk on her covered face.
"And…" Fukuwara Mask continued, "You can enjoy the natural hot spring here as much as you want. Enjoy it after your match."
"Hot spring?" Kaito asked. "That sounds like fun?"
"That does sound good." Queen Bee said. "I haven't been to a hot spring in ages. I'm sure Ms. Rogue will enjoy it too when she gets here."
"By the way," Tiger Mask called out to his ally, "What about the ring?"
"We're renting one from Hamanako Pro-Wrestling." Fukuwara Mask said. "It's on its way with the wrestlers fighting today."
Of course, the Hamanako group was stuck in traffic, so they couldn't attend nor could they bring their ring. Thankfully, Nagata had a NJPW ring delivered by Naito and Evil who agreed to take up the remaining slots that were recently emptied. There was a slight setback since they forgot to bring a bell, but they decided to settle with a gong.
After that, everyone went to their respective hotel rooms. Since Kaito was a guest, he had to share his with Queen Bee. Thankfully, neither of them minded that. Kaito waited in the bedroom until Queen Bee emerged from the bathroom wearing her wrestling attire.
"Now, I'm ready." Queen Bee said.
"I still can't believe you have to wrestle Ms. Booker." Kaito said. "Isn't she your teacher or something?"
"It's nothing to worry about, Kaito." Queen Bee said. "Many wrestlers work to surpass their mentors all the time. It's like a rite of passage. It's not like there's bad blood between us. Although, there's probably going to be some bit of blood during our match."
"What do you mean?" Kaito asked.
"The thing about Lyra is, she becomes a different person in the ring. When she's normal, she's practically a big sister to me. But in the ring, she'll fight me like I'm one of her victims. All I know is I need to be at my A-game."
"So is it okay if I come as your second?" Kaito asked.
"Sure, babe." Queen Bee said before kissing him. "Let's go. We don't want to be late."
*Xtrema Shorts*
Chibi Monica Everly took in the applause as she came on out to address the crowd. Right beside her was a Chibi version of Mewlie.
"Hello, everybody! I'm Monica Everly, and welcome to another segment of Xtrema Shorts! Sorry if this seemed like a short chapter, but this was all Epiclot214 could manage with the short clip in the canon Tiger Mask W episode this came from. Anyway, please welcome my guest, the Queen of Catfights, Mewlie!"
"It's good to be here. And I'm sure it's great for you all to meet the greatest catfighter of all time." Chibi Mewlie said.
"Right." Chibi Monica said. "Now, remember, Mewlie, I'll be asking you a set of questions and you have to answer them honestly. There'll be some standard questions followed by personal questions asked by Awesome ax10. You ready?"
"Duh!" Chibi Mewlie said. "Just ask already!"
"Right then. First question. How long have you been wrestling?"
"About eighteen years, give or take."
"Do you have any dream opponents?"
"I'd like a go at anyone who thinks they can do better than me in a catfight. Personally, I'd like to claw out that Thunder Mana's eyes out."
"How do you feel about your fans?"
"Good place to find good men who have excellent taste in women's entertainment."
"What's the toughest match you've had so far?"
"My daughter. She really called me out on being the Queen of Catfights because of my rookie days when I always lost, but all she needs is a firm set of claws to set her straight. Some might recommend child services, but it's all legal as long as it's part of an official match."
"What do you do for fun?"
"Well, I like to frequent an underground club where I was free to catfight any bitch I please with no limits."
"What do you think makes a great wrestler?"
"Whoever does what it takes to win is worthy of respect in my book. Then again, I don't have any respect for anyone anyway."
"Do you have any interests besides wrestling?"
"Well, I'm in the market for online dating. I need someone who would treat me right. I'm looking for someone to settle down with… or so it says in my profile." She chuckled sinfully.
"Now, for the personal questions. How does it feel being a jobber when you first started?"
"It was frustrating. I always had the skills to win, but my opponents always pulled off a lucky win. Mostly, my losses came from various submission holds, which were a nightmare to escape from."
"When did you break your jobbing streak? And how did you do it?"
"I broke my streak sometime after my maternity leave. Let's just say that after childbirth, submission holds stopped being as painful as they used to be."
"Who is Neko Girl's father?"
"My God, I'm sick of everyone asking about that! Fine! If it'll make you stop asking, his name was Dennis Malroy. He was a referee. I thought if I went out with the nerd, he'd turn the matches in my favor, but when he didn't, I dumped his sorry ass! Shortly after that, I learned that my little girl was on the way! There! Happy? Just don't tell Neko Girl about this. She gets dramatic about that subject."
"How did you get into Xtrema?"
"Shortly after I brought my daughter into the world of wrestling and we first became the Killer Kitties, we made our debut as a tag team in the independent league. Basically, we dominated our opponents. We did use underhanded deeds, but it all paid off when we were approached by an Xtrema talent scout who was watching our match. So the moral of this story is, cheaters always prosper as long as you keep looking good."
"Well, that was all very interesting, Mewlie. Thank you for your opinion. If anyone has any other questions to our characters, ask away.
"Before we sign off, I'd like to make an announcement. Next chapter, we'll get onto the matches of Fukuwara Mask's event. That's right, matches as in plural. Along with Queen Bee vs Lyra Booker, we'll also be covering Spring Tiger and Viper Takagi vs Candy Pair. For those of you who've already seen Tiger Mask W episode 22, you may already know how that match ended up, but Epiclot214 decided to write the whole match since we've only seen the last part of it on screen.
