Chapter 16: Visitors

~Red~

-Three Weeks later-

I have been getting used to having her back in my life. We have calmed down our pull toward each other.

I had been resting the urge to strangle Sam for what he did when I tried to stop him after Leah called me.

Sitting at the table, I eat my dear steak in my 6' Lycan form. Putting my dish away I was heading for my room to get ready for my date with Edythe.

*Howl* *Yip* Sound came from outside. listening carefully, I hear the sound of paw steps and something else approaching.

Heading for the door I put my hand on the hilt of the long black sword. Seeing that I will not need it or its partner, I leave them. I throw my hood over my head.

On the porch, I wait and a few minutes later Graystreak runs up to me. {Danger Is coming} he sighs with his tail as he runs past me into the house.

Three figures come out of the forest, in head to toe all black robes. The wind blew their scent to me. They were Vampires that I did not recognize.

Putting my hand up I touched the Heptagram engraved into the right wood pillar of the porch. I changed it to make the house visible and activate its barrier. I waited on the porch as the three Vampires approached. "Can I help you with something?" Two of them stop while the shortest of them approaches me.

She spoke in a conniving voice. "We were just passing through."

"Ok, continue on your way Vampire." she gave me an annoyed look.

"You should have not revealed you know of us."

She lifted her hood, and I recognized her intently. Vampires do not change even if it has been over 800 Winters.

Pain spit my head and I gritted my teen. I use my power to block the pain. "Jane Volturi Vampire I invite you and only you to approach."

She snared and ran up onto the porch through the barrier.

"How told you about us? We need to punish them for revealing themselves. If you cooperate, we can try and make you one of us."

She smiled showing her white fangs. "I have known of your existence since I was born. You should know we have met before, Jane. I would appreciate it if you would quit using your power to hurt me."

She took a step towards me then stopped and got a wary expression on her face. The intensity of her power increased.

I linked her mind with mine and looped the pain she was sending me back to her. *AAWWW* She screamed and did not try stopping the pain she was causing herself.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" One of the men yelled, lunging for me. "STOP, DO NOT CROSS THE THRESHOLD!" I shouted at the other Vampires in my growly commanding voice.

Jane stopped her attack on my mind just as the first Vampire with his right hand outstretched tried to forcefully cross the base of the porch.

He did not even have time to scream as his flesh was incinerated from his bones. His movement carried the rest of him through the barrier and his clean white skeleton in a black robe, *Clatters* to the floor.

Jane's face fills with fear and she back away from her dead companion. "I warned him. You cannot, just force yourself into my house without permission. Now, look at me, Jane."

She did and I pulled back my hood, revealing my face to her. Her eyes got wide, and she turned to run. "You are not permitted to leave Jane. solid barrier up inside."

I said quickly, as Jane ran for it. She hit the solid wall and bounced off hitting the other one on the house's wall.

She backs away standing in the corner of the porch farthest away from me. "Now tell me why you are really here, Jane? Tell me why you thought you had the authority to kill a human inside a restricted hunting zone."

"I did not know this was a restricted zone and I came here because a Vampire with a missing arm came to us. He reports that a monster ate it and let a human getaway."

"Yes, that was me and he broke the rule by severely injuring the girl. As I see it, you assaulted me with your power and told me you were going to kill me. That violates the decree, I will send a message with your head to the Vampire kings."

Jane used her power on me, but I reflected it back and lunged for her. Sinking my right claw into her left breast. I went to slash my left hand across her middle.

A cool female voice entered my mind. No son, she is destined to be with one of us. I will show you, my son.

~Vision~

I was outside, and thin arms were around my waist, which was Jane's waist. I stepped back from Jane's body, becoming a spectator.

I saw the sign for La Push middle/high school. I looked at Jane closely and found that she was wearing a bracelet on her left wrist. It was made from amber string with six dark gray wolf beads. The seventh bead was sky blue.

Looking around I see a group of large boys with scowls on their faces. They looked at Jane and then turned their heads to look at a slate silver Acura TLX. It was parked across the lot and the guys were eyeing it like it was dangerous.

I turn to look at the young boy holding Jane. The two of them look to be having the happiest day of their life. I recognize the boy as Seth Clearwater.

~Vision End~

Snapping out of vision I pulled my hand out of Jane's chest and stepped back. "I will make a deal with you. If you accept, I will let you live."

In a whisper pained voice she said "[What do you want?]"

"I have seen your future with my gift. If you promise to never contact your family again. I will let you live and introduce you to your destined mate. You just cannot turn him."

"Why?"

"let's just say it will be interesting but if you hurt him, I will let them rip you apart over and over."

She nodded her head. "Yes." I reach out and use my power to extract the venom from my claw, out of her body.

"You there, what is your name?" I look at the Vampire cautiously standing outside the barrier. "Dillan. Um sir."

"last name too."

"Liner, Dillan Liner, sir."

"Dillan Liner Vampire you may approach and cross my barrier."

He hesitated, looking at the bones of his colleague. I wave him forward and he steps through the barrier.

"I want you to go back to your kings and tell them that Jane is dead after violating the decree and that the Werewolf Guardian will be calling the others about this."

I use my thought projection to cover up the truth. It may fool Aro's thought probing. Sending the man on his way I lead Jane into the house, then changed the house back to invisible and intangible.

In the house, I said, "Jane, stay right here I will be back." I ran to my room, dug in a drawer, and pulled out a bracelet with seven wolves on an amber cord made from my fur. This gave it a permanent marker scent.

Going to the half fridge I grabbed two 20oz thermoses. Heading back into the living room I hand Jane one of the thermoses. "Drink that."

She cautiously took off the lid and took a sip. Her eye gets wide, and she tips the cup back. I watch her gulp down the drink and see her shoulder start to heal faster.

I took the cup from her and handed her the other one. She drinks this one slower savoring the taste as I wash out the first one in the sink.

"What is this? It is delicious."

"That is a secret and I know it is. Do not get used to drinking the good stuff, my girlfriend gets first dibs. Now go in there, pick out some cloth, and take a shower. I need to make a call."

Once Jane was in the bathroom, Graystreak came out of one of the bedrooms. He gave me a skeptical look. "I know she caused you pain and I would have killed her for it."

I reached out and put my hand on top of Gray's head showing him the vision of the future. He gave a wolf sigh. {trust you Guardian}. "Good now you should go so I can take care of this."

After he left, I picked up the phone to call the Cullens. "I'm sorry Edythe I will be a little late for our date today."

P: "Ok, what time will you be here?"

"I will be 30 minutes late no more."

P: "Ok, see you then."

Hanging up the phone I waited for Jane. she came out of the bathroom in her dark robe. I could tell from her scent that she was wearing the marker.

"Why do I have to wear this? It smells like a wet dog."

"It tells the others not to bother you. Now the rules. You will be drinking what I give you and not from humans. You will live here so I can keep an eye on you. Now let's go, I have a lesson scheduled right now and a date later."

On my way out the door, I sensed something was going to happen. Reaching out, I grab the hilt of the black sword.

Swinging the sword back, I attached it across the right side of my back. With my left hand, I picked up the white sword and swung it onto left side. I saw Jane step back.

"Is that…? Do you think I will try something?" She said in a wearied tone, looking at the white sword.

"Come on, I'm running late." I ran into the forest with Jane following at a good distance behind.

Leah was leaning against a tree, in a hooded cloak that went past her feet. I knew that under that she is not wearing anything.

"How has mental blocking the others going?"

"I'm getting the hang of it, and I have been practicing projecting my thoughts to other Wolfs. I made friends with a native female wolf. She has been teaching me how to pick places to blend in when hunting."

"That sounds like you're getting the hang of it. What would you like to learn next?

"I would like to know how to shift just a part of my body."

"Oh, that is call mid-shift."

I stuck out my right arm and from claw tips to my shoulder, I shifted it to a wolf forepaw.

Shifting my arm back to Lycan I smiled at her. "That may look easy, but it took me over thirty Winters of practice to fully control mid-shifting."

"Hopefully it does not take me that long. Who is your new friend?"

"Leah this is Jane, she is a Vampire. Jane this is Leah, she is a Wolf-shifter. Now get along I do not have time for drama right now."

"Ok, I will behave. Now, what do I do to mid-shift?"

"I have watched you shift a few times and the first thing to shift are your hands then both your eyes. First, start by trying to just shift your eyes. Once you have the hang of that try shifting just your hands. Mid-shifting is difficult because you have to constantly concentrate on not going full human or full Wolf."

"What about you? Do you have to contrate to not shift human or Wolf?"

"No, because I'm not a human in the first place. I will show you what I have to contrate on not becoming to not scare anyone."

With the hunter or wolf moon as I call it tomorrow night I just had to let go of my contraction. My claws extend, my whole body fills out with muscles, frame grows to have me tower over Jane and Leah.

My fur goes dark red like my father's, and I stand at over 8' in height. The fur stands on end making me seem larger.

Leah takes a step back having seen me only once in my true Lycan form. Jane jumps back behind a tree with her eyes showing terror at my form.

"As you can see, I'm quite scary in this form even for my Supernatural companions."

I shift back to my more friendly-looking 6' Lycan form. Looking at Leah "now you give it a try."

While Leah was contracting on her shift, Jane slowly came up next to me. "Last time we met, and you save that young Wolf you were holding back?"

"Yes, Jane if you had seen me go all out, you would be long dead." *Grrrr* Leah made a grumbling sound as she shifted completely into her Wolf. Shifting back the cloak reformed around her so she was not standing there naked,

After ten minutes of her shifting back and forth she managed to just shift her eyes from wolf to human and back a few times. Her concentration slips again, and she shifts into her Wolf. She gives an annoyed huff.

"Hay, you're getting it and pretty quickly for your first tries."

"It is not that I shift unintentionally that is annoying, it is the boys teasing me about my lack of control. The only one not teasing me is Sam. He just keeps trying to give me excuses for hurting me."

"Ya, and he is still angry he cannot leave La Push as a wolf." I said just as Leah shifted back into a Wolf in trying to mid-shift.

Jane came up to me as Leah was shifting back to human. "Why do you take on this less frightening form?"

I look at Jane. "I want people to see me and know I'm not going to kill them if they talk to me. On the other hand, when anyone sees me in my true Lycan form they know to run for their lives."

"Look I did it." I turn to see Lea with both her hands clawed. Reaching out she slices four grooves into the trunk of the tree she is standing by.

Before I could tell her to try shifting her hands back to human. Fur spread down her arms, and she let out a frustrated *whine* as she stood there in her Wolf form.

"Your progression is amazing for someone new to this, and it took you three days to figure out how to shift back and forth quickly. Keep practicing but remember if you abuse or tease your pack mates, about having a shift-cloak, I will take it back."

"I know, I will not abuse it." Leah said after shifting to her human form.

~Vision~

I smelled wolf, the blood of a wolf was strong meaning there was a lot of it. If the blood was from a native wolf, it was dead. If Supernatural they would be depleting their energy to heal.

The first thing I see are my eyes in the reflection of the jeep that is covered in wolf blood. My eyes are black, and my fur is dark-dark red. The only contrast to my dark eyes and fur is the soul-white sword in my left hand.

Sniffing the air, I pick up the smell of human blood, exhaust, and gunpowder. A young human boy comes around from the driver's side of the jeep and starts to raise a shotgun. I do not give him a chance.

My scenes are good normally. The inner Wolf I inherited from my father is much faster. At that moment, I could not track my arm moving to run the white sword through the boy's chest.

There was no spray of blood or a scream from the boy. The light in the boy's eye disappeared and his aura bopped like a balloon.

My white sword slid through the boy as he fell, not leaving a mark on him.

Hearing the *howling* cries of a wolf, I look past the jeep to the left grass snow cover ditch. The Jeep's tracks lead to red and the crushed form of a brown native wolf.

A large gray Wolf has its head on top of the brown wolf's. It let out another cry of grief.

"(SunWolf) Save her Lord."

~Vision End~

Leah was back to trying to just shift her claws out. Reaching behind me, I grabbed the hilt of the white sword with my left hand. I ignore Jane's hesitant step back into the trees.

Concentrating I look into the sword future, this does not take me long to find out. "You two keep up with me!" I tell both girls as I turn and run. "What?" Leah asks as I fall forward, becoming a Wolf before my hands now forepaws hit the snow.

Shifting the swords sit horizontally along my back just behind my shoulders. The straps wind around my middle to hold the swords tightly to my side.

I have had centuries of Winters running with my swords and other weapons strapped to my Wolf form. With that, I ran full out to the place in my vision.

My first vision was me being too late. This is not good, in my search for a way to save her I saw I was too late multiple times.

"(Red) Lea, keep heading in this direction. You will find me there. Stay out of sight of the 'humans'." I made sure my disdain for humans could be heard.

"What do you mean, I can keep…?" Her words were cut off as I entered the shadow of a tree.

Existing the shadow of a different tree, I stager a little on the snow-covered shoulder of the road. As long as the shadow is large enough for my frame, I can enter it, and the same for the exit. Day or night as long as it's a shadow.

With a full stomach and wolf moon I jumped from the statue of liberty in Los Vegas to the leg of the Eiffel tower in Parus. This small jump would be nothing if it was not the night before the wolf moon when I get super hungry.

Steading my legs I sniffed the air for the jeep and the wolf I saw get hit. With the blood in the vision, it was not hard to pick up.

Running along the road just inside the trees I see the jeep coming. I'm going to be too late. Looking at my opinions I knew what to do. She is going to kill me or put me on a leash for this.

Turning I leap into a shadow.

The jeep slams into my left side just as I come out of the shadow. This very short jump did not make me weaker, but I was not able to put up my barrier before the jeep hit me.

Blood shot from my mouth as my organs were jarred from the impatient. My Wolf skin is tough, and I was wearing my medium enchanted robe when I shifted. The jeep pushed me along, dragging my paws on the road for about thirty feet.

Putting a barrier between me and the jeep I sink my right foreleg and back into the pavement.

The jeep acted like it hit a steel beam. Its front-end crumples in pushing the engine into the firewall. The entire vehicle bounces off the ground from the kinetic energy transfer.

Something from the passenger side of the vehicle shot out and hit the left side of my body. I lost concentration on my barrier. The truck slams back to the ground. My legs go out from under me, as I cough up more blood.

"Please hurry there has been an accident. My friend was not wearing a seat belt." After a pause, the voice spoke. "No, I cannot check. A light gray Wolf is preventing me. I tried waving my gun at it, but I got scared when 6 SilverWolfs came out of the trees to growl at me."

After another pause. "Ok, I have already put it down. We saw this brown wolf next to the road we were Going to um… Then this red wolf came out of nowhere and we hit it. It was like we hit another truck, and this is strange."

The voice made fluster *sigh* and spoke. "The wolf's blood is eating the jeep and before the other wolf showed up, I got close to the red one. It's radiating heat and all the snow has evaporated around it.

~Leah~

After I watched Red vanish into the shadow of the tree, I continued my run. The sound of crumpling metal and *screeching* tires echoed around me.

I ran for the sound, being in the direction I was told to go. Getting to the road I see a jeep and two boys. One is standing over Red with a shotgun and the other is lying on top of Red.

I know that Red does not like to be touched by anyone other than his mate. Getting closer I see and smell the blood pooling out of Red's mouth.

He told me not to be seen, but he was not moving. I track the spray of his blood.

I sneak around the jeep and let out a menacing *growl*. The boy jumps and points the gun at Red.

More *growls* this time from the forest. The boy and I both looked to see several silver eyes and fangs looking at the gun.

I could only see 6 of them but I can sense Hunter-Wolfs and even more SunWolfs.

The boy seemed to know that Wolfs around here will not attack unless provoked, so he carefully sets down his gun and walks backward for the jeep.

He let out a *cry* when he sees me as I run past to stand near Red. Digging into the jeep, he came back with a cell phone.

Great now the cop will show up. I concentrate. Red told me this skill was purposely conceded by one of the long-dead alphas to prevent secrets within the pack.

"(Leah) Help what should I do? The humans will be here soon." I waited for a response from the other Wolfs. Red said not all Wolfs understand current English, they mainly use a type of sign language.

{Mate, smell, human, duck, run} I sigh to the wolf, but I got the sense, they thought I was a dummy.

"(Dark Claw) What was that mean Shifter?"

"(Leah) I asked for help that he is calling humans and we need to hide and run. Did I get that wrong?"

"(Dark Claw) Everything but human. Worry not Alpha Red will wake in minute."

He seems to not understand all the grammar of human language, but I got the gist of it.

I start to pace faster when I hear the sirens off in the distance. I was just about to ask, when will Red wake up?

A white-gray SunWolf with a few black streaks crossing his fur came up to Red. He bends his head down to drop a large rabbit in front of Red's nose.

I could not help staring at this 4' Wolf with sparkling silver eyes. He turns his eyes on me and I'm frozen. I could not concentrate to try and talk to him mentally and the sudden movement of Red's head had me looking away.

Red's eyes were dark, Indigo almost black. It happened so quickly that I thought Red just opened his mouth and the rabbit hopped in. The whole rabbit disappears when Red snaps his mouth close.

His eyes get brighter until they are glowing dark violet as he stands on all four. It still shocks me how tall Red's Wolf form is. He towers over the three of us and the human boy.

The human let out a *cry* and snacked the gun off the ground. I duck out of the way as he aims it up.

*Bang, Bang* Goes the shotgun as the boy shoots Red. All the Wolfs including me let a menacing *growl*. The dark gray Hunter-Wolf and white Wolf look to lung at the human.

I was going to jump him too when Red Sighed {My Hunt}.

The boy made the mistake of turning to run. Red leaps, knocking the boy to the ground and pinned him there with his right paw.

The boy starts crying. "No, please I'm sorry for shooting you and trying to run over that wolf."

I felt the power and ferocity from Red as he spoke to every Wolf and the boy.

"(Alpha Red) You have been warned before 'human'. Last time I decided the punishment. This time Crescent Moon and her mate will decide."

"Who is that?" The boy asked in a frightened tone. A brown native wolf and a large SunWolf approach. He was not Red's height, but he still towers over the two other Wolfs and slightly taller than my 5'10".

I move out of their way to bump into something. Embarrassingly losing my footing, I lean into it and my nose brushes white fur. Snuffling, I inhale the scent of wolf and cool clean winter breeze.

Trying to get my legs back in order, I tangled my right foreleg in the Wolf's left.

Stumbling, I laid my head on the back of his neck. He lets out a *yip* and untangles his leg to step away from me.

I felt like the heat was sucked out of me. I shiver from the cold winter air. Tuning my head, I see the dark gray Wolf looking from the white Wolf to me.

I turn my head back to Red to see the blue and white lights of ambulances getting closer. The SunWolf, his mate, and Red were signing to each other so quickly, I could not catch what was said.

Red gets off the boy and the brown female came up to the boy. She placed both her front paws on his back. *Awwww* He cries out as she claws his back from top of his shoulders to his ass straight down.

Stepping back, her mate brings his large front right paw down. I wince as the boy *screams* as the Wolf claws him from right shoulder to left ass cheek, making a bloody mess.

The two Wolfs run into the woods, and I can scene the hidden Wolfs moving off.

"(Red) Leah, we are going." {Wait} I sigh and turn to the two Wolfs, but they were gone.

Shaking off the disputed feeling I get, I sigh {We Run} to Red. This means let's go in wolf.

~Dr. Cullen~

The thin female nurse how has been eying me ever since I started working at Forks hospital, came up to me. My son and daughter have told me she has been trying to get into shape to tempt me.

I love my children and having a seer and two mindread looking out for us is great. When they get bored or have a fight it can turn into a nightmare. With Edythe finding someone and Alice trying to help her. Especially since Alice's powers do not work on any of the Supernatural Wolfs.

Red explained that SunWolfs were Apollos and are protected from oracles and Hunter-Wolfs were Artemis blessed Wolfs. They are shielded from scrying. Making their futures muddle and hard to see for a non-Wolf seer.

"Dr. Cullen." Piper interrupted my thoughts, I turned to her. "Yes?"

"We received a call that there has been a car accident and one of the boys was not wearing his seatbelt. They want us ready."

"How many boys? Do you know if he was through from the vehicle?"

"Two boys and according to the driver, his friend in the passenger seat was ejected. Here I wrote down what the dispatcher said.

She hands me a paper with her neat handwriting. I noted her cell number circled in highlighter. I read the report in an instant but made sure to look at it longer than I needed. Humans get upset When it looks like you just glanced at their papers.

On my fifth read of the paper, Piper had already left to get the other nurses ready.

With my super hearing, I heard a nurse say. "What a run of bad luck. First, his father has a hunting accident with him there. Now his friend is injured."

"What do you mean? What kind of accident." I ask the three.

"Oh Dr. Cullen, this was before you started here." The man lowers his voice. "[Well, being a small town, you hear stuff. I heard his father was out hunting and according to him shot a wolf by mistake.]"

I was shocked, nobody living in or around Forks would dare point a gun in the direction of a Wolf. "Do you what kind?"

"[Yes, he shot a SilverWolf. The whole town was terrified.]" I lower my voice too. "[it's true I just moved here but I'm surprised he lived. I have heard SilverWolfs do not attack or eat livestock but injuring one will bring all of them down on you.]"

"[He lived but not unscathed. We heard it was the Wolf god who bit off his right hand. The one he used to pull the trigger on the gun.]"

A sense of dread came over me as I looked back at the dispatch report. "[Do you know what this Wolf god, look like?]"

"[Yes, he or she is big as a stallion with dark red fur. Some say it's like dried blood and you can see bright fresh blood when it moves. Why, do you ask?"}

Not bothering to whisper. "This report states that the boy was going to hit a wolf off the side of the road. When a large red wolf stepped out in front of him. He stated it was like hitting a truck head-on."

The three *gasp* as the alarm bell goes off for an incoming emergency drop-off.

Telling the other to go. That I need to get something from my office.

In my office with the door close, I called my mate. P: "Carlisle, is something wrong?"

"Is Edythe there?"

P: "No she left for her date. Did something happen?"

"There has been a car accident and the driver claims he hit a large red Wolf."

P: "Oh my, do you think he is alright?"

"The human boy, no. The Guardian, he should be fine. He would not let a truck hit him on purpose knowing it would kill him. I just called to make sure Alice and Edythe were alright. I know they both like him."

I could hear the quick human footsteps approaching my office. "I have to go my love." hanging up the phone I opened my desk and acted like I was grabbing something when my door flew open. "Doctor, we need your help."

The first boy was covered in bruises, cuts, and bits of glass. He was unconscious and had to be the one through from the Jeep. "Ok, he must be the most critical I will take him."

"No Doctor he is not that bad. We need you for the other one." I was about to ask why when the scent of a lot of blood hit me.

The scent of human blood has not affected me as strongly as other Vampires have described. The only blood that called to me and not in a thirsty way was Esme's blood on our first meeting. Even after all these years her scent still draws me in.

The other boy was already in the surgery prep room. His back was covered in blood-clotting rags. Cleaning my arms, I put on some long sterile gloves. "What happened?"

I heard the boy's low voice. "[Lord, angry.]" Bending down to the boy. "Which Lord?" The terror radiating from the boy increased. "[Wolf.]"

I started ordering the ones near, to get me ivy with painkillers and three tubes of liquid staples.

In five minutes, I had his upper back sealed and started work on the middle half. I noted he had two different-sized claw patterns on his back.

In my office after an hour of work on the boy, I picked up my phone. I was about to call Red to get his side of the story.

Looking up as Chief Swan knocks on my door. "Come in Chief." I say putting the phone back down.

The man came in and sat in the chair across my desk. "I know you cannot tell me much about your patients, but can you tell me if he will live?" "Yes, he will live."

The man gave a sigh of relief. "Now chief Swan I have a question. What is The Howling? I have heard several people concerned that this will lead to another one."

The man's face went pale as he spoke. "Ok, living in Forks you have heard that it is illegal to hunt or shoot at any wolf." I nod my head.

"Well, this happened when I was 8 years old. The chief of police allowed a group of men to go out and shoot whatever they wanted. They ended up killing three SilverWolfs, angering the pack's Alpha. The Alpha killed two of the men and the Chief started a Wolf hunt. My friend Billy Black told me that on the true full moon, the Alpha requested help from the White Wolf of love and the Black Wolf of revenge. The White and Black Wolf gods sent their son."

I interrupted him "What is their son called or his name?"

"I only found this out a few weeks ago but his name is Alpha Red, people around her call him Lord of Wolfs."

"Ok, what does calling the Lord of Wolfs have to do with the howling?"

"Well, the Wolf Lord can speak to any animal. He spoke with the chief for a truth. If he handed over the other men. That the men would be punished but not killed. Well, the chief said no, called the Wolf Lord an animal, and said animals had no rights. Humans were superior and did not bow to any animal."

"That had to have made him angry."

"Oh, it did, that night all the animals in the frosted went silent except the Wolfs. Their howling and growling were like they were standing just outside ready to eat you soon as you stepped outside. Looking outside the only thing we could see were the silver eyes."

"Did anyone try scaring them off?"

"Yes, and the Wolfs would not have it. If anyone shot at them, the next night a large group of them would gather around to howl and scratch at their door. This went on for three nights. On the fourth, some say the Wolf Lord came to the Chief and made his demands again with an apology. He refused and shot at the Lord."

After that, a month of all-night and all-day howling started, and the wolf would not let people leave their homes after dark. The Chief was fired from his position and the town begged Ms. Hood to help them, apologies to the Wolf Lord."

I remember what Red said about Mia Hood being the Wolf Queen who rules this territory. That her great-great-grandaunt was the previous Werewolf Guardian.

"What happened to calm everyone down?"

"I do not know. Some say that Ms. Hood spoke with the Wolf Lord, and she was forced to be his mate."

I bit my tongue hard to hold in my laughter. Think about what Red said about Mia's mate. I'm positive he would have rolled his eyes.

Since Red said that her mate is the Dragon Guardian's nephew and Dragons are just as possessive with their mates as Wolfs.

"Sorry Doctor, I came in here to ask for your advice. Since you have not always lived in Fork. What should I do about this Wolf stuff? This is the third incident with the Wolfs."

"The third?" I said with a questioning tone. "Yes, the first about a year before you moved here. That boy's father shot a SilverWolf and got his hand bitten off. Last week an alarm went off at the Newton's shop and Wolf tracks were everywhere. The Newtons would not say anything about the incident. Just a false alarm was all I could get. Now that boy claims he tried to run over a wolf and the Wolf Lord is angry with him."

"I would suggest that you find a way to speak with this Wolf Lord. To find out what that boy did to make him angry. I would also advise, not shooting him or call him a dumb animal."

"Ya, I guess you're right. Thank you, Doctor.

~Red~

In the forest with Jane and Leah, I close my eyes to concentrate on shifting to my Lycan form. It is normally super easy for me to shift Wolf or Lycan but this close to the Wolf Moon it is difficult.

During the three nights, the moon is closest to the earth. My strength is 8x what it is with a full stomach. To shift I suppress one of my true forms to the other. This time I cannot suppress my Wolf to shift.

Opening my eyes, I look at the girls still in my Wolf form. "(Red) Leah, training is off for the next four nights. You may stay at the Wolf-House while I'm out. I have told you what will happen to me tomorrow night. Jane, I'm not giving you a choice. You will stay at the house. There is food and drinks in the kitchen fridge."

"What, you said you would help me find my destiny."

"(Red) I will, but you came at a bad time, and you need to get used to not feeding from humans before I will let you get close to him. Now head back to the house. If you do not, I will hunt you down.

Jane grumbled about it but agreed to stay at the house. Once we were back at the house, I had Leah help me remove the swords from my back. "(Red) Stalker relinquish."

The medium armor cloak I was wearing before my shift. Changes back into a cloak and I turn my head, letting it slide off my body.

Leaving the girls, with Jane drinking a shake from my freezer. I head to the meeting place for my date.
