Chapter 85 (Daily)
Willow Powell had booked a reservation at the fanciest five-star restaurant in the city. She came under a disguise to she wouldn't be flashed by a mob of fans. She appreciated their love for her, but she didn't see any of them as worth her time. Once she entered the restaurant in question, she was immediately brought to her table where she got her food a short while later.
While the actress dined, two reporters entered at once. They were Kanae Fujishita and Natsuki Okumura. They looked around and saw Willow at her table. They followed the waiter to join her.
"Hello, Ms. Powell." Kanae said sitting across next to Natsuki.
Willow rolled her eyes. "Bonjour."
"Thanks for calling us." Natsuki said. "We understand you wish to make a statement regarding Xtrema Against the World?"
"Oui." Willow answered. "Zis better go on ze record."
"Of course." Kanae said pulling out a tape recorder and turning it on. "Now, we hear you're going to be facing Sakura Hagiwara. What are your thoughts on that?"
Willow scoffed. "I hope I get a new opponent by zen. I don't want to have to waste a once-in-a-lifetime event to go against zat big-breasted putain."
"We understand that your rivalry with Ms. Hagiwara was well known when you were the one who exposed her Boston crab weakness to the wrestling world." Natsuki said. "Now that she's broken that streak, do you really think you have as much of a chance now as you did before?"
"Of course. Just because she can get out of one move, it doesn't make her invincible. And it doesn't change ze fact zat she's nothing more zan a princess against a star."
"Are you aware that she's recently had well-accomplished matches in the past?" Kanae asked.
"You mean against Jackal Tojo? Please. If Tojo wanted, she would've squashed her in two minutes. We all no zat. Digger and Hornet? Zat match proved zat she needed help to beat zem. Elena Miyazawa? So a worm can fight against another worm. She hasn't proven anything. She's still just ze same princess who's in way over her head. And if I do have to face her at Xtrema Against ze World, I'll hurt her so much, she'll have to retire. Zat's all I want to say."
Kanae and Natsuki looked at each other. They nodded before heading out of the restaurant with their to-go orders.
"You think this next match is going to be the same?" Natsuki asked.
"Of course, not." Kanae said. "Sakura's not the naïve girl she used to be anymore. Back then, there was no way Willow would lose. But now, the odds are fifty-fifty. We'll just have to wait and see."
"Huh." Dawn said as she stared at the hold in Kaito's wall at his apartment. "Your own sister did that to you?"
"Yeah." Kaito frowned. "She picked me up and tossed me backwards into the wall."
"Yikes." Dawn said. "You made a hole that intense and you still made it all right? Respect. I mean, I'm sorry it was your own sister who did that."
"Don't worry." Kaito said. "Miyako's been like that ever since I started wrestling. She said I would never make it. Now, who knows where in Japan she is now? I just hope I don't run into her."
"Sorry to hear that, babe." Dawn said sympathetically. "Guess you won't be giving her your VIP ticket. What about one of your parents?"
"I guess. But I'm not sure if I'll want them to see me lose."
"You won't. Look, we'll keep training all night if we have to. All you need is a finishing move to beat that big-breasted bimbo. There's got to be a clue or something. So I suggest you give it to one of your parents."
Kaito smiled. "Thanks, Dawn. You know, maybe you should give yours to one of your parents too."
Dawn frowned. "Well, I know my dad would be okay with it. But my mom…"
Kaito's smile dropped. "Oh, yeah. I remember. How long as it been since you've talked to your mom?"
"Over a year." Dawn answered.
"Over a year? That's insane!"
"It's better than calling her just for her to hear her lecture me about my life." Dawn said. "Every time I try to get in touch with her, she always tries to steer the conversation into trying to convince me to quit pro wrestling and apply to a law school."
"But you were a C student at school."
"Exactly. Still, she thinks pro wrestling is a waste of my life. Even me being a World Champion doesn't change her mind. Whenever I call her, I expect her to be different. But no. She's still as judgmental as she ever was. So I'm done getting my hopes up."
"I understand." Kaito said. "Still, isn't it worth a try. This is probably one of the most important weekends of your life. Wouldn't you want her to be there?"
Dawn frowned and sighed. "All right. I'll give her a call tomorrow. In the meantime, let's fix that hole in the wall."
"Sounds good." Kaito said.
"Morn', Tina." Clementine greeted into her phone. She stood in the middle of a large park with her casual attire on.
"Hey, Clem." Tina Armstrong greeted back. "I was wondering when you were gonna call."
"Sorry. I've just been training hard these past couple weeks."
"So shouldn't you be training for your match against me?" Tina asked.
"I will. But first, I gotta know. Did you know you were gonna be in Xtrema Against the World? Is this why you stayed in Japan?"
"Got that right." Clementine said. "My daddy had reservations about me staying here, but it's not like he controls my life. It's a good way to catch up with you."
"So how long have you known?"
"Remember your match against that French actress and I got pulled aside by your boss? She told me about her plans to have an all-roster event with her wrestlers facing ladies from outside Xtrema. She asked me if I could perform as your opponent, and I accepted."
"That sounds great." Clementine said. "I… AAHH!"
Clementine got interrupted by an electric guitar that struck her in the back. Electra towered above her with a black instrument in her hand. She also had a referee standing beside her. Electra held her guitar over her head before smashing it right on top of Clementine's prone body again and again and again until it shattered into bits.
All that was left was the guitar handle in Electra's hand. She kicked Clementine onto her back and pressed the handle hard on her throat. Clementine choked out flailing her arms and legs around.
"Give up!" Electra demanded. "That belt is mine!"
About to turn blue, Clementine swung her meaty arm and struck Electra hard in the face. She then swung back hitting her face again with her elbow to shove her off. Clementine choked out before standing back up to confront the rock star.
"You? What are you trying to prove?"
"That I'm a champ, not a chump!" Electra said. She scooped a handful of dirt before throwing it at Clementine's eyes.
The cowgirl yelled out trying to get the dirt out of her eyes. Electra then swung her leg kicking Clementine in her stomach. She brought her down to her knees before grasping both her hands on her. She held Clementine and made her scream with her finishing move, the Claws of Fire, which is also a combination of the mandible claw and the shoulder claw. Clementine screamed at the grasps feeling like she was being burnt hard.
"That's right! Scream for me! Scream your submission!"
Despite the painful hold and the rocker's taunts, Clementine wasn't going to give up no matter how much it hurt. She continued screaming until she shook herself free from Electra's grasp and counter with a bearhug. She squeezed her meaty arms around Electra's midsection. The rocker tried to apply another Claws of Fire, but Clementine rushed forward. She lifted Electra until she collided with the nearest tree. Electra gasped as her back made impact with the hard wood. After that, Clementine thrusted Electra around slamming her in a belly-to-belly suplex. She kept her down for the referee to tap her hand on the grass.
1… 2… 3!
Clementine stood up still feeling the soreness in her face and shoulder. She left Electra there while picking up her phone. She noticed the call was still on and continued speaking.
"You there, Tina."
"Yeah. Are you all right? It sounded rough."
"I'm fine. It's just someone thinking she can take my title from me."
"Did she?"
"Nah. Though, she did make it difficult, I'll admit. I'll talk to you again later."
At her home, Carly X had followed her training schedule. She worked harder considering she was going to face three strong opponents the following weekend. Not only did she and Mana have to face the top divas in GWM, but she also had to face a 15 time champion of WWE. She had to focus everything she had to be ready for them.
Suddenly, a ringing noise got her attention. Carly stopped her workout to get up and check out her phone. She read the caller ID and widen her eyes at the one word on it.
"Mom."
Carly didn't expect this. Still, she didn't want to keep her waiting. She answered and greeted nervously, "Hello?"
"Hey, Carly."
"Mom. What… What are you calling for?"
"You remember what you said to me about me calling you when I'm ready to talk to you again?"
"Is this about me and Mana going against Queen Payne at XAW?" Carly asked.
"No. This is… something else." Carly noticed the uncertainty in her mom's tone. "Look, a lot of stuff is happening right now, things I'm starting to not be proud of. I need to talk to someone. Someone I trust. Someone I… Well, I need to talk to you. Please, Carly."
Carly hesitated, but she eventually gave in. "All right. How's… dinner? Tomorrow night?"
"All right." Miss X replied. "I'll text you the location. I'll pay. See you then."
"Okay. See you." Carly hung up and wondered. "This must be really serious."
*Xtrema Shorts*
Chibi Monica Everly made her way to the stage taking in the applause of all the fans. She sat in her usual spot which was right beside her guest. Today, her guest happens to be a Chibi version of Kyoko Natsumi.
"Welcome to Xtrema Shorts, everybody!" Chibi Monica declared. "Tonight, we've got an interview with our well-toned kabuki, Kyoko Natsumi! Thanks for coming, Kyoko."
"Glad to be here, Ms. Everly." Chibi Kyoko stated. "Are my questions ready?"
"Yes, ma'am. You get the standard questions along with personal ones asked by Awesome ax10. Here we go. Question one… How long have you been wrestling?"
"Three years."
"Do you have any dream opponents?"
"None that come to mind. I would just like anyone famous. If I face them, it would gain more publicity for my theater."
"How do you feel about your fans?"
"Obviously, I need them. They're good people."
"What's the toughest match you've had so far?
"Mantis, for sure. That girl's like a ninja with her speed and skill."
"What do you do for fun?"
"I practice my acting and working on my muscles."
"What do you think makes a great wrestler?"
"If you do something in the service of your passion, that makes you very great."
"Do you have any interests besides wrestling?"
"I obviously act, but I also like going to other shows."
"Now for the personal questions. First, what can you tell us about your family?"
"Nothing you don't already know. Two parents, one sister, and a large Kabuki theater that needs the income I provide for it."
"When and why did you enter the world of pro wrestling? What did it feel like?"
"Well, three years ago, my family realized that we were coming up short to keep our theater away from the bank. We needed a way to keep it with us. Then, soon after, a young fan noticed my muscular limbs and said that I should try out for wrestling. I was embarrassed at first, but then I saw that pro wrestlers make quick money, so I tried out at a charity event. Turned out, with my martial arts background, I was plenty strong. My opponent was much bigger than me, but I brought her down with just a few strikes… after she spent a minute throwing me around admittedly. Anyway, after that, I realized how enjoyable it was to compete in the ring, so I decided to dedicate some of my time to wrestling so I can keep my family healthy."
"Would you ever be interested in a martial arts championship?"
"Of course, I would. It means I'd have to keep my eye out for the other competitors, but I can still do it."
"Do you ever do any Kabuki skits in Xtrema or any related Xtrema media?"
"Back when I was first wrestling at Xtrema, my family celebrated by helping me make an image. Before my matches, we'd do a short show that would allow me to show off my muscles in the end. Then again, we don't do that anymore since it got old."
"Thank you. That is all." Chibi Monica turned to the reader. "Thank you for your support so far. If you have any questions for our characters, do not hesitate to ask. Only one more chapter until our hiatus of the main story. Any and all comments are welcome."
