"Thank you," I smiled at the shadowhunter that handed me the new notification.
"Looks like Azazel's headed south," I just heard from behind me. I turned around to see Alec approach my parabatai. I rolled my eyes at the two, annoyed at the sight of them. "We just recovered four dead mundanes with his signature M.O."
"Okay," my parabatai responded as I approached, "Let's go."
"To catch a greater demon you summoned to the Institute," I started to snipe as I walked past, my eyes focused on my tablet, "defying all protocol and common sense?"
"Don't put this all on Jace," Alec immediately began to defend his brother causing me to turn my glare to him, "I had a part in this, too."
"Don't worry," I smiled sarcastically back at him, "I'm mad at you too."
I saw Imogen approach behind the two boys as Jace continued to argue their case, "Look, if you want to bench your best fighter with a greater demon on the loose, I'm happy to oblige."
"No," she spoke up behind them, "First, we vanquish Azazel," she said as they turned to face her, "Then we'll decide what to do with you."
I continued to glare at them as the Inquisitor walked away.
When their attention returned to me, I decided to tell them of my plans for the day, "I'm going to meet with Izzy," I stared them down, jabbing each of them in the chest with my index finger, "Bloody behave."
"Lis…" "Allie…" they intoned in sync, faces filled with apologetic looks.
"No," I said, pointing at each of them, stopping them from stepping any closer before promptly stomping away.
"Good morning…" I greeted Sebastian when he opened his front door, "I bought coffee," I said with a smile as I waved the Starbucks cups around.
"Would you like some breakfast?" he offered as he led me to his kitchen.
"If you're offering…" I smiled turning to Izzy, "Here." I threw her a bag. "I picked up some clothes for you."
"You're the best," she beamed back at me as she finished her own breakfast.
I continued looking at her even when Sebastian placed a plate in front of me, "How are you feeling?"
"The strongest I've been in a long time," she smiled happily at us.
"Good," Sebastian nodded with a pleased look.
"You know..." I said, taking a bite out of my toast, "Not many people will take in a stranger and be so generous."
Sure the guy is nice and we haven't seen anything bad from him, but I did need to interrogate him a bit if he was going to continue to be associated with us.
"Well..." He didn't seem to take offence, "You're welcome to stay as long as you need." He then turned to me, "And you're welcome to visit whenever you want."
"That's very kind of you," I smiled, hiding the suspicion in my voice.
"But I- we need to get back to the Institute," Izzy suddenly said.
"You should come with us," I offered, wanting to know more about this guy.
Hook
"Uh... thanks, but, um..." Is he hesitating because he has something to hide? "You know, I've..." he shrugged, "I've kind of gotten used to being on my own. So..."
Izzy shrugged as she started to put her puppy dog eyes in place, "I'd gotten used to vampire venom."
I smiled at him, hoping to help convince him, "Sometimes change is good."
Line
"Alright," he said with a laugh and shake of his head, "For you."
I gave him a big smile.

I drove the other two back to the institute not long after, having received new information about Azazel's attacks and about the meeting that was about to occur.
"Azazel's attacks go as far south as the meat-packing district. And then the trail goes cold," we were greeted as I led the other two into Ops.
"It's no use just tracking the dead bodies. With his ability to dematerialize, he could be anywhere," I heard my parabatai's grim voice as I observed him standing in his soldier's pose.
"Maybe we can help," I mentioned as we stood to stand on Clary's side of the table. Izzy was standing beside Clary and I was standing between the former and Sebastian. The boys' attention snapped to me and their puppy dog eyes immediately started acting up. Seeing it, I immediately frowned before pointing at them, "I'm still mad at you." I turned my finger to my sister as she leapt to hug our female friend, "And at you too."
"Izzy! We've been so worried about you." The redhead released the noirhead, "Where have you been?"
"Looking for Azazel," she sighed before looking around me at our new friend.
Taking this as my prompt, I waved my hands in his direction, "This is Sebastian Verlac, from the London Institute." I looked at the rest of them cautiously, knowing they were not briefed on what I was about to say, "When the demon came after me when I was looking for Iz, Sebastian saved my life."
Said shadowhunter returned my smile, "Oh, I simply lent a hand."
"Sebastian's an expert on all things Azazel," Izzy piped up with her own grin.
I waved him forward, telling him to take the lead, "When I studied abroad at the Paris Institute, I specialized in greater demons."
My annoying brother figure gave him a long look before reluctantly holding out his hand, "Thanks for saving my sister and Allie. I'm Alec."
"Hey," Sebastian shook his hand in greeting.
My parabatai only waved his hand slightly, still suspiciously looking at our new friend, "Yeah, thank you. I'm Jace."
At the sound of his name, Sebastian gave him a once-over. Oh. He's actually impressed to see Jace? Please don't say anything to fuel his ego. "The great warrior in the flesh. Your reputation precedes you." Too late.
"As does yours," Sebastian to the last person in our group, "You must be Clary, Valentine's daughter."
"Yeah," she smiled tensely as she gave an awkward laugh, "Don't hold it against me."
He gave her a kind smile, "Well, we don't choose our parents."
"So tell us about Azazel," Jace cut in, "How do we take him down?" And there goes his impatience.
Sebastian nodded before converting from his friendly persona to that of a soldier on duty, "The only way to banish him is to puncture his demonic core. In corporeal form, it's between the T8 and T9 vertebrae, but it's not that simple." I could see the shocked look in Alec and Jace's eyes, not expecting the newbie to know this much, "The core is about the size of a pea."
"Oh, so the entry point's right below his sternum?" my parabatai asked, trying to look just as knowledgeable.
"Mm-hmm," Sebastian hummed in agreement.
"If I can get close enough, I can kill him," my other half confidently said.
"You wouldn't have enough velocity, and even if you did, the defeat's only temporary," Sebastian shook his head, letting him down softly. I hid my smile at Jace's downtrodden look and loss of cockiness. "The nasty buggers always find a way to break out of their realm and come back."
"Thank you for the intel," Alec, hun. Why do you need to be so rude? I know you hate new people but we don't like making enemies with people we've just met. "We'll take it from here."
"If I can, I'd like to help," Sebastian offered.
"We appreciate that, but you don't have clearance to go on the mission," Alec cut him off, "Not this Institute."
I didn't really appreciate his tone, "I can fast-track his clearance." When he turned his gaze to me, he shrunk away slightly at the ferocity of my glare. Be nice.
"Alec, you can't be serious," Izzy defended our friend as well.
Surprisingly, Jace also defended the new guy, "Hey, Alec. Look. He clearly knows more than us about Azazel." I smiled at him, happy that he was taking my side, causing him to smile back. "We could use all the help we could get. "
Alec gave a deep sigh after seeing our looks and the fact that we were all standing against him. He waved his hand letting Sebastian continue, "Now, as far as tracking is concerned, we should really think about..."
Alec immediately cut him off again, "We have a very capable warlock for that." He gave us all a glare, "You do what you want. I'm gonna work with Magnus."
What's up his ass?
Alec immediately stormed off and Izzy immediately followed after a quick apologetic look in Sebastian's direction.
I turned to the new institute guest, "I'm sorry about-"
At my pause he smiled, waving me off, "It's fine."
I couldn't take his easiness with being treated like that, "I'll talk to him later-"
"Princess," he cut me off before grabbing my shoulders, "It's fine."
I smiled at him when he released me, "Alicia."
He gave me a teasing look, "I already gave you my name so…"
"Haha," I gave him a look as I let out a scoff, "Very funny."
"Princess Alicia," I heard a voice from behind me. I turned around, only to see Penhallow bowing to me.
"Yes?" I asked him when he stood up straight.
"Inquisitor Herondale wants to see you," he continued to inform me.
"Oh yes…" I gave him a startled look. What could she want now? "Of course," I turned to the others, "I'm gonna go. " I gave them a pointed look, "Please don't fuck this up."
"We won't," the person I wasn't aiming that towards, replied.
I patted his shoulder before turning a smile to the others, "Good thing you have Sebastian here to keep you guys on track."
I followed Penhallow as I turned away from the table, "She'll meet you in your office."
I looked up from my paperwork when I heard a knock on my office door.
"Come in?" I called out when I finished signing off another document.
As soon as I looked up, the Inquisitor took that as permission to start speaking, "Alexander Lightwood has just banished the Greater Demon."
My eyebrows scrunched as I finally registered what she said, "Oh wow…"
Before I could talk more on the subject, she immediately moved on, "We must talk about Clarissa Morgernstern and Jonathon Wayland's angelic blood."
"Oh," I paused in my writing before looking up to face her, "What about it?"
She gave me a long, hard look before deeply sighing, "You know what the Council has decided," I withheld the urge to roll my eyes as she continued, "Will you go against our interests? The interests of-"
I raised my hand, stopping her from speaking anymore, "You need not reiterate my priorities to me," I paused, looking down at my desk, and I saw my pen. I picked it up before beginning to fiddle with it. I'm sorry Jace, Clary but I can't stop them. "I know," I looked up at her briefly before looking back down and signing off another document, "I'll call for them and talk to them about being tested."
"I took the initiative and have requested their presence here," I stopped myself before I could sigh and reveal how frustrated I was.
"Very well," I signed off another document, "I don't need to be tested as well do I?"
"No…" I heard her pause. Despite that, I could hear the silent but you should be in her tone. "Unless you have something to tell us…" I looked her in the eye before shaking my head, "Not that I know of."
"You wanted to see us?" I immediately heard a voice say as they walked into my office.
I couldn't help the sigh I released as I massaged my forehead. I bade them rise from their bows as I placed my head on top of my interlocked hands, "Yes. The Inquisitor told you that we would decide what was next for the two of you once Azazel was vanquished," I waved my hand as I widened my eyes sarcastically, "…so here we are."
I watched Jace give me a look of concern before turning completely to Imogen, "Look…" he stepped in front of the redhead, "You can do whatever you want with me, but leave Clary out of this."
"Well, that's not possible," I replied with an apologetic look, "The Clave wants to have you both tested to get a greater understanding of your unique angel-blood abilities."
"No, we'll pass on being lab rats," he gruffly spoke for the two of them as he continued to glare at the Inquisitor.
"No, Jace," I saw the look of annoyance on Clary's face as she stepped around my parabatai, "I want to do this," I cocked my head as I looked at her inquisitively, "I haven't been able to use my runes since we summoned Azazel. I…" my eyes softened in understanding, knowing exactly how she was feeling, "I wanna understand why."
I looked up at the Inquisitor before sighing. Looks like they're definitely going to have to do this. I quickly signed a document before handing it to her, giving her my formal permission.
She gave me a soldier's nod, not-unalike Jace's, before turning to the others, "Thank you, Ms Morgenstern," her tone turned a lot more sarcastic, "Your willingness to put your own comfort aside for the greater good is to be commended." She turned her glare to my other half, "You would do well to follow her example."
He only gave her his signature smirk, "I'm not a follower."
"I'll do the testing on my own," my sister said after giving Jace a dirty look. She turned to me with a curious look, "When do we start?"
"Clary, you don't know the Clave like I do," Jace said as he gave me an apologetic look. I ignored it in favour of taking a peek at Imogen, only to see her fulminating look at my parabatai. "First, they'll just want you doing circus tricks. The next thing you know, you'll be monitored-"
My sister cut him off as she continued to look at me, "I'll do whatever it takes." I turned away back to my work when I noticed their conversation looked a bit more private. I mean you guys can have a private conversation, not in my office. I am busy right now catching up on stupid paperwork I left behind in favour of hanging out with Jace. "Jace, it's okay if you don't want to do this, but..." she paused dramatically, "drawing those runes..." I rolled my eyes at her next words. I hid my smile when I caught sight of Imogen as she also rolled her eyes, "…for the first time, I felt like there was a reason I became a Shadowhunter. I need to get them back."
I looked back up when I heard my parabatai's sigh, "I guess it's your lucky day."
I turned to the Inquisitor, happy that we had finally come to a new outcome, "Will you need me there…?"
She shook her head slightly before turning to me, to make a semblance of a private conversation and saying, "Your presence is not required but it is up to you as to whether you want to come."
I shook my head, "It's alright," I waved my hand to indicate to the stack loads of books and documents laid out on top of my desk, "I've got lots of work to catch up on anyway…"
"Oh…" she let out with a slightly shocked look, not expecting that, before schooling her features and giving me her soldier look again, "…the new shadowhunter that you brought to the institute…" I gave her a confused look at why she was bringing it up, "What would you like to do with him?"
"Oh…" I turned to the duo in front of me, shock-soaking my tone, "Did you guys just leave him on his own?"
"Errr…" Clary let out before turning to Jace with her own question, "I thought Izzy was with him?"
Jace gave a slight nod before turning to me, "I thought so too…"
"Very well," I turned to Penhallow outside my door, "Summon Sebastian Verlac to my office," when they nodded and left with a bow, I turned back to the Inquisitor to answer her question, "I'll entertain him here before I give him a tour of the institute." When she gave me a nod I continued, "Will that be all Inquisitor Herondale?"
I am happy to say she gave me a proud smile as she gave me a bow before heading out of the door, "Your highness."
"Clary," I acknowledged the redhead's bow before turning to my parabatai, "Jace." I waved them off, "You're free to go. Good luck," I called after them as they followed Imogen out of my office.
"I heard that you were going to give me a tour," I heard a voice ask from my door.
I broke out of my daze before looking at the newcomer with a welcoming smile, "You took longer than expected to get here." I waved at my now clean desk, "I finished all my paperwork before you got here."
"Yes…" he nodded his head before giving me a sarcastic smile, "Well… I was summoned and then left to find my way here."
"Ahh right," I gave him a sheepish smile as I rose from my chair, stretching slightly before heading to my door, "Tour then?"
I was leading him around the institute for an hour or two. Surprisingly, I found that he was actually a pretty interesting guy. He kept me in a constant state of laughter and I found out loads about the guy's life. About his cousin, Aline and his aunt, Élodie. They seemed like nice people that I definitely wanted to meet at one point. He seemed like a genuinely amazing guy and I got to admit, I am pretty convinced about him.
I led Sebastian to the greenhouse at the end of our tour. We caught sight of Clary and were on our way towards her when I was stopped by one of my guards who was on a break.
"Go ahead," I said to him with a nod before turning to Jane, "What's wrong Ashdown?"
"Lovelace has sent a message from Idris," I gave her a nod and let her continue, "He said he's on his way back…"
I won't bore you with the information I was made aware of about one of my guards's coming back from his paternity leave. I mean bless them but you don't need to know that, it's not important to you guys.
I made a mental note to send a memo to the happy couple and their newborn baby as I stepped towards the duo I had meant to join, at the tail end of their conversation, "You need to let that in, Clary."
I saw the redhead sigh from my place in the greenhouse, "Believe me, I have."
"Really?" he asked as he gave her a long searching look.
Before I could even ask what they had talked about, Alec approached us from the side and pulled me aside.
At my raised eyebrow he quickly began speaking, "I heard that Inquisitor Herondale put a request in for Valentine's execution."
I slowly nodded, questioning to myself how he managed to find that out, "Unfortunately the Clave has denied that request. Alec…" I gave him a searching look before slowly deciding that he was the only one I could trust in this situation, "Watch over her, she said to me earlier when I was with Sebastian that she thinks that 'It's time to take matters into my own hands'."
He gave me a startled look before nodding and rushing away.
"What was that about?" Sebastian asked as he and Clary approached me.
"You know…" I paused before turning to the two of them, "I think I should-" I indicated towards the direction my brother had left, with my thumb.
"Yes. Go…" Clary said when she realised what I was saying, "I'll look after Sebastian."
I gave her a smile before turning to Sebastian, "Thanks for today…"
"You're welcome," he replied, smiling right back at me.
I rushed to the dungeons just as I heard Imogen's shout, "My son is dead because of you." I ran to the door as she continued, "And it's been years, and the pain just never goes away. Guard the entrance."
"What the-?" I asked when I stormed into the room and past Alec. I waved my hand, expecting her to be thrown away but nothing happened. "Damn it," I growled as I stared at my hands. Why aren't you working still? I gave you time to rest. I haven't used my powers since that night and still nothing. "I order you to stop!"
"What are you-" she started to ask me, only to be blocked out when I felt the appearance of a new presence. I turned to the window only to catch sight of Magnus and Jace's astral forms with Jace in chains by the warlock's side. I rushed towards the window, the concern probably etched on my face. Sorry, Inquisitor but you can shut up for a minute.
"Hello, Alec," Magnus greeted the person closest to them.
I made my way to his side, tears gathering in my eyes, "And you said I was the one that was going to be kidnapped."
Jace kept his eyes on me as he rolled his eyes lightly at me. "Alec, I'm so sorry." Despite it all, I could see how soft his eyes were as he stared at me in concern. "You were right." I mean, you're the one in danger, not me. "They switched."
"Stop! Stop!" I heard from behind me when Alec left my side to run back towards the Inquisitor, "Stop! It's not Valentine!"
"What are you talking about?" I heard her say. I kept my eyes on my parabatai, making sure he was still okay.
"You've taken my light..." Magnus started to say, "...your darkness will come."
"What did you just say?" I heard her say before she slowly joined my side.
"I'm repeating your words back to you," he only shrugged his shoulders as he gave her a dark look at her approach, "You remember the fire message you sent to me the night Stephen died." I gave her a quick look, only to see her trembling lower lip as she stared fervently at Magnus-Valentine, "The good news is, in exchange for my freedom, you can save your pure angel-blooded warrior."
"I don't make deals with the devil," I gave her a cold look before turning to look at my chained parabatai.
I went to speak, ready to make some kind of agreement to get him back, only to be stopped by Jace's scoff.
"You chose the wrong bait," I gave him a glare, trying to tell him to shut up as he did the exact opposite, "For all she cares, you could slaughter me right now."
"I don't think so," he smiled darkly at us all before turning his main attention to Inquisitor, "Imogen wouldn't dare slaughter her grandson."
Errr? What? I was expecting big news but not that.
"After all your lies," he rolled his eyes, "…you expect me to believe I'm a Herondale?" He pointed his thumb at him as he directed his eyes at me, rolling his eyes as if to say, can you believe this guy?
"Stephen Herondale was your father..." he smiled at Imogen as Jace faltered. "…and his wife Céline was your mother." He kept his eyes on Imogen as he continued, "You ever think about poor Céline? Nine months pregnant when she took her own life." I winced at the reminder of the file I had read in passing to help me learn what I needed to know about the Shadowhunter families, "Her dead body ravaged by werewolves, her unborn son eaten alive. Or was he?"
My eyes widened in shock as the Inquisitor voiced my thoughts, "You didn't..."
"The Clave took so much from me," he snapped back, only to pause before slowly smirking, "So I took something in return." He paused again before shrugging, "But I'm sure you want further proof."
As he raised a silver band, Imogen gasped softly by my side as she physically trembled, "My family ring."
I grasped her hand, squeezing it slightly to show my support and understanding as I asked, "Where did you get that?"
"Off Céline's very hand," he flippantly shrugged before steeling his gaze, "You have one hour to meet my demands, or your grandson dies."
With those final words, the connection dropped and they disappeared.
"He-" Imogen started to stutter out, only to stop as she began to lightly gasp at my side.
"It's okay," I reassured her, before turning to lock eyes with Alec behind us. I jerked my head before turning my gaze back to Imogen's, "We'll save him." As she began to flounder for more words, I took over, "I promise."
I turned and rushed to the open elevator, Alec by my side.
"I don't know why you felt the need to bring him here," Alec distractedly said as we rushed out of the car and through the real Magnus' winding corridors to his apartment.
"We need all the help we can get," I snapped as I led the way.
"She's right," I heard Clary defend me as I stopped in my tracks and stopped Clary from walking any further.
"Wards are up," Sebastian explained to Clary as I examined the wards.
The same ones I helped him power to put up.
"You said Valentine wouldn't have this kind of warlock power," I heard Clary ask.
If I had my stupid powers, this would be easy to take down.
"Yeah. As always, he defies expectations," Sebastian remarked as Alec turned to me, "Look, we're gonna need you."
"I-" I stuttered out as I gave them a remorseful guilty look, "I can't."
He gave me a glare, "What do you mean?"
I flinched away at his look and turned back to the wards blocking us, "My powers haven't been working since I absorbed the sword's power."
"And you're choosing now to say?" he harshly asked me, causing me to flinch further away from him.
"I'm sorry!" I shouted angrily in return, "Why do you think I haven't been able to portal anywhere? Clary-" I turned to the redhead, "You can do something though."
I was pulled aside by Sebastian, "Why didn't you say-"
"Not now," I snapped, "We need to rescue Jace."
"Try again," I heard Alec snap from beside us.
"I can't make it work," she denied, tears cascading down her face.
"Yes, you can," I denied, stepping up by her side.
Sebastian replaced my position at her side, "Tell me what it feels like to have your entire family ripped away from you."
"What?" she gasped in shock as her doe eyes widened.
I grabbed his arm, trying to yank him back towards me, "That's enough."
He turned to me slightly as he shrugged me off, "Trust me on this, okay?" He gave me a sincere look, immediately making me hesitate, "Trust me." I gave him a slow nod before stepping back to Alec's side, "Look, your mother? She's never coming back." I flinched at the reminder, "Jace is not your brother. You feel like you're all alone in this world, don't you?"
"Stop it!" she tried to shake him off as Alec held me back from stepping in and interfering.
"No! Feel it, Clary," he muttered as he shook her frantically, "Feel it! Your mother is never coming back."
"Don't," she cried.
"Your father will never love you. The only reason he wanted you was to use you," he shouted.
"Sebastian, this isn't working," Alec murmured at my side.
Sebastian just ignored him as he carried on, "The twin you thought was yours isn't actually your twin." I gave her a surprised look at his next words, "You were jealous of her all your life and you continue to be jealous of her because she's become a princess with many people that love and adore her."
I shook my head as I successfully manoeuvred out of Alec's grip and tried to pull him off of her, "Sebastian! Stop."
He continued to ignore me as Alec pulled me towards him again, "You wanted a brother so badly, because then at least you'd have someone to share in the pain."
She shouted as the tears continued to fall, "Stop it!"
"I can't stop it, Clary," he shook her furiously, "That empty feeling that eats away at your soul and makes you feel like you want to die, day after day after day, it never stops." He breathed heavily before finally letting her go, "Now take that pain and use it."
I smiled as she successfully drew her new rune and broke through the barrier before rushing into the apartment. When I caught sight of Jace's collapsed form, I turned my glare towards Valentine causing him to fly across the room. Ignoring the appearance of my powers, I rushed at him, tackling him into the open portal, right back into his cell.
I pushed off my back and jumped onto my feet, sweeping into an exaggerated bow, "Your prisoner."
Valentine, the real Valentine, clenched his jaw as he glared up at me, "You're taking the wrong side, Alicia. One day..." he smiled wickedly at me as I made my way out of the doors, "…you'll regret this."
"I didn't realise you were having trouble with your magic," I was greeted with when I headed back to my office.
I smiled tiredly at him, "It's nothing I can't fix."
He stepped towards me slightly as he said, "I could probably help you out, you know."
I hesitated as I backed away from him and into my office door, "If it involves being shouted out, I think I'll pass," when I saw his confused look, I elaborated for him, "I don't handle criticism and negative thoughts that well."
He waved me off with an easy smile, "It won't, don't worry."
"Well then…" I hesitated before smiling at the sincere look in his eyes, "…yes. If you could help me, that would be great."
As he started to walk away, I stopped him.
"Hey," he smiled at me as he turned, "Thank you for helping us earlier," I awkwardly smiled, "I don't know how to thank you."
"Well…" he smiled cutely before cocking his head at me, "How would you feel about dinner?"
I paused, not expecting that, "Um..."
He held his hands up in surrender, "Oh God, I was too forward, wasn't I?" He blushed and stepped away when I stayed silent, "I was."
I chuckled awkwardly before waving him off, "No. But I..." I gave him an apologetic look, "I have a boyfriend."
"Of course, you do," he gave me a nod of understanding, "Of course, you do, how could you not?"
I backtracked, as I stumbled over my words, "Um... Um..." I finally remembered what I wanted to say, "…but thank you. Again. For..." I smiled, hoping he understood how sorry I was, "…for everything."
"Lis?" I looked up to see Jace's figure approaching us, a frown etched onto his chiselled face, "You ready to go?"
"Yes…" I smiled towards him, happy to see that he was safe. I stepped away from Sebastian and towards my other half, only to stop and turn back briefly, "I'll see you tomorrow Sebastian."
"Bye," he nodded before bowing.
When I turned to greet Jace, he greeted me with a deep kiss. I moaned at the unexpected greeting, but let it continue, happy to know that he was safe.
"Hi," I whispered against his lips when I pulled away from him for air.
"Hi," he smirked back at me in return before slowly guiding me outside the institute, where a portal was waiting for us.
I looked up to give him a confused look, "Magnus opened it for us," he responded before we stepped through the portal back to our own home. He gave me a sharp look with an unknown emotion in my eyes, "What was his deal, by the way?"
"Who?" I asked curiously, only to get a pointed look in return. Right. "Sebastian?" I couldn't help but laugh as I finally recognised the jealous look on his face. "Nothing," I resolutely responded.
"He seems way too interested…" he trailed off as he gave the closing portal a glare as if it represented the new shadowhunter I had befriended.
I shrugged, trying to hide the tugging on my lips as I looked up at him, "I'm only interested in one person so…"
He tugged me towards him so I wrapped my arms around the back of his neck, "I swear by the angel if that isn't me…"
I gave him a quick peck, only for him to deepen it into a passionate kiss. When I finally pulled from him, for a breath of air, I gasped out what we were both thinking, "Let's go to bed."
