Chapter 7: Carrie reads to the ghosts

At a shelf in the school library, Carrie looked up at the book on the shelves, she hold ghosts in the books & found it by looking through the book cover: Ghosts from Our Past: Both Literally and Figuratively: The Study of the Paranormal by Rita Desjardin and Eleanor Snell. Back cover the picture of Rita Desjardin and Eleanor Snell.
"Ghosts from Our Past: Both Literally and Figuratively: The Study of the Paranormal by Rita Desjardin and Eleanor Snell. That's it." Carrie replied.
Carrie sitting by herself looks at the ghost on the screen at the computer. Carrie read Engraving of the Hammersmith Ghost in Roger Kirby's Wonderful and Scientific Museum, a magazine published in 1804. The "ghost" turned out to be an old local cobbler who used a white sheet to get back at his apprentice for scaring his grandchildren.
"Hammersmith Ghost in Roger Kirby's Wonderful and Scientific Museum." Carrie replied.
Carrie read Athenodorus and the Ghost, by Henry Justice Ford, c.1900. She read Hamlet and his father's ghost" by Henry Fuseli (1796 drawing). The ghost is wearing stylized plate armor in 17th-century style, including a morion type helmet and tassets. Depicting ghosts as wearing armor, to suggest a sense of antiquity, was common in Elizabethan theater. Witch of Endor by Nikolai Ge, depicting King Saul encountering the ghost of Samuel (1857).

Doing a little more digging, she found a link to a YouTube video and saw the library ghost was pink. Curious and more than a little anxious, and with that familiar feeling of butterflies churning in the starting to develop, Carrie clicked on the link.
"GET HER!"
Freddy's video yelled, the ghost transmogrified into a monstrous form and screamed at Tommy, George, & Freddy. When the video started playing, Carrie stared in mute horror as she watched the library ghost, wrapped only in a bookshelves which was barely covering her, on the floor of the school's basement pleading for help thinking she was a ghost to transmogrified.
"Get her. I don't get it. Wait, Amazon. Yes, Rita Desjardin and Eleanor Snell." Carrie replied.
Doing a little more digging, she found the Amazon listing and Carrie clicked on the link to the photo of Ghosts from Our Past: Both Literally and Figuratively: The Study of the Paranormal by Rita Desjardin & Eleanor Snell.
"Oh, my god. Mrs. Snell, it can't be." Carrie was shocked.
Carrie then read Eleanor Snell's Amazon bio. Books by Eleanor Snell. Carrie read the writing & Amazon page: "GHOSTS ARE REAL!" Carrie saw writing read These words were Eleanor Snell's mantra for many years.
"Wait a minute. "Ghosts are real! These words were Eleanor Snell's mantra for many years" I don't get it. That's it." Carrie replied.
Carrie then read Rita Desjardin's Amazon bio. Books by Rita Desjardin. Carrie read the writing read & Amazon page: "FEARLESS SCIENTIST."
"Miss Desjardin. You promised you wouldn't do this." Carrie replied.
Carrie saw writing read Those are the worlds a colleague used to describe Rita Desjardin as an undergraduate and they are more true today than over. Rita's zeal for research has never wavered; from an early age she cared more about verifying Kepler's elliptical orbit equations than she did about school dances and popularity contests. She graduated with degrees in Ewen High School and Astronomy and Physics from Yale and the University of Michigan. Rita continues her passion for the study of the paranormal at the Thomas Ewen Consolidated High School.
"Wait. "Rita continues her passion for the study of the paranormal at the Thomas Ewen Consolidated High School." I can't believe it." Carrie replied.
Carrie read Witch of Endor by Nikolai Ge, depicting King Saul encountering the ghost of Samuel (1857). Macbeth Seeing the Ghost of Banquo by Théodore Chassériau.
"Witch of Endor. King Saul encountering the ghost of Samuel. Macbeth Seeing the Ghost of Banquo." Carrie replied.
Carrie read The Phantom on the Terrace from Shakespeare's Hamlet (engraving by Eugène Delacroix, 1843). Freddy is first seen when Carrie researches at the library. She looks over to him amazed because of his typing skills.
"Carrie, right. Can I help you? It's Freddy." Freddy replied, as he appeared behind Carrie.
Freddy came to Carrie on the computer.
"Uh yes, Freddy." Carrie replied.
"Are you okay?" Freddy asked in concern.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Carrie replied.
Freddy also helps her widen the screen to full screen, but Carrie turns her head and looks at him because of her being upset. Freddy looks and Carrie turns her head at the ghost on the screen at the computer.
"Hey, is that the ghost?" Freddy asked in concern.
"Uh, yeah. That's the ghost." Carrie replied.
"I know. You saw the ghost." Freddy replied.
"Oh yes. I saw all the photos of ghosts." Carrie replied.
Freddy gave his photograph on the table and sat down on the chair.
"So, I saw the ghost on your YouTube video." Carrie replied, as she turned to Freddy.
"Oh yes, sure. I do." Freddy replied.
"What happened to yesterday?" Carrie asked in concern.
"We went down to the basement. We saw the ghost." Freddy replied.
"The ghost transmogrified into a monstrous one." Carrie replied.
"That's right." Freddy replied.
"You with Tommy Ross and George Dawson." Carrie replied.
"I know." Freddy replied.
"Get her, right?" Carrie asked in concern.
"Yes. We screamed and ran to Principal Morton and Miss Desjardin." Freddy replied.
"You okay? Are they okay?" Carrie asked in concern.
"I'm fine. They're fine." Freddy replied.
"Too bad. I saw the words: "Ghost Are Coming!" in the locked hallway." Carrie replied.
"Oh sure." Freddy replied, as he turned his head.
Carrie turned to the ghost on the screen at the computer.
"You're right, Freddy. Ghost." Carrie replied.
Carrie stood up, and grabbed her schoolbag, and walked to paused and turned around to Freddy.
"Freddy." Carrie replied.
"Yes, Carrie." Freddy replied, as he turned to Carrie.
"Tell you, okay?" Carrie asked in concern.
"Sure." Freddy replied, as he nodded yes.
"Thank you, Freddy." Carrie replied.
"You're welcome, Carrie." Freddy replied.
Carrie walked around and to a table with Arlene standing.
"The books." Walsh replied.
"Yeah, Ms. Walsh. I got the ghosts in the books." Carrie replied.
"Hmm, sure." Ms. Walsh replied.
Ms. Walsh gave the books to ISBN with barcodes by scanner.
"So how is Mary?" Carrie asked in concern.
"She's fine." Ms. Walsh replied.
"Mary has seen the ghost." Carrie replied.
"Yeah, I know." Ms. Walsh replied.
"Too bad." Carrie replied.
"Okay, two weeks later." Ms. Walsh replied, as she gave Carrie to the books.
"Thank you, Ms. Walsh." Carrie replied.
Carrie pulls the books to her school bag.
"Okay, see you later." Carrie replied.
"So, long." Ms. Walsh replied.
Carrie out the Library class. As Carrie walked and turned the hall.
"Ghost." Carrie replied.
