Lloyd POV: I quickly healed in a month and immediately grouped up with the others who were working on the portal, working in the museum. When I got there it was closed off to the public and police surrounded the area. They let me pass and I headed to the portal room. Zane was looking through a lot of paperwork, Jay was on top of the portal near the center stone, Cole was gathering materials, and Nya was directing Jay. Nya and Cole were the first ones who saw me.

"Lloyd, how are you feeling?" Cole asked, walking over and gaining Jay and Zane attention.

"Fine. I'll be better once I know Kai is home." We gave each other a quick hug.

"Agreed." Nya whispered, but we all heard her.

"He'll be fine. He's probably already waiting on us to bring him back. And we will be laughing at his escape story in no time." Jay stated, with a giant smile.

We all smiled for a second, but then I said, "How has it been going?"

"Well…" Zane said, and went over to him, "This portal, from what we could find, was used for realm travel before the Realm Crystal."

"I thought that was impossible without at least a dragon?"

"It appears that wasn't always the case. But this method wasn't as safe as a dragon or Crystal. And it was difficult to predict which realm you would end up in." I could feel my heart sink at that.

"So, we have no idea where Kai is right now?" I said, with a flat voice.

"Not quite, one of the guys we caught said that they had a device around here that perfected the process." Nya said, looking up from her paper.

"And that's a blueprint they made so we could find it." Jay said, pointing to Nya.

I walked over and took a look myself, but I didn't understand it. It was the portal, very well drawn and detailed, but all he did was circle random areas in different colors. Our colors strangely enough. Jay's color was at the top, Cole's was right below him, Zane would be on the left, Nya would be on the other side and Cole, and I would be on the right. But how does that make sense?

"He wasn't very forthcoming with how to understand this." Nya admitted.

"Who knows, maybe he was just trying-" Jay started.

But then he placed his hand on one of the stones and it surged with a dark blue, and he dropped down in shock.

"What the heck!" He stated, as we gathered. But it soon stopped as instantly as it started.

"That was… interesting." Zane said.

Nya took a closer look at the map, then walked over to the other side. And step on a spot. It did the same thing, but this time it was more of a teal color than dark blue. And it also went away when she moved her foot.

"I think I get it now. The spots he circled. That's where we activate the portal." She said, walking back over.

"But the kidnappers did it by themselves. We didn't touch anything." Cole stated, crossing his arms.

"But we were all in the room. They could have simply used our presence." Zane said, thinking aloud.

"Then all we have to do is press the portal all at once and it'll work." I said, looking at it.

"But what about Ninjago. You know Kai would get mad at us if we just abandoned it for him." Cole said.

That was true. Kai would risk anything to help us, but he wouldn't want the bad guys to do something really bad because we were saving him.

"We can handle it." Someone said behind us.

We turned and saw Sensei, with Skylar and a few other elemental masters.

"What?" I asked, confused by this.

"Kai wouldn't want Ninjago unprotected, but I know none of you want to be left out of his rescue." Wu said, hitting the nail on the head.

"But… we can't dump everything on you." I protested.

I do know they can handle it. Just as much as we can, but this isn't their lives. Having them do this for who knows how long would be too much. But someone had a different idea.

Skylar walked up to me and took my hands.

"Please Lloyd. All of you should go and bring him back. We can do this." She said, firmly but gently.

I couldn't say anything. Because I could tell she also wanted to go.

Eventually I sighed heavily and said, "Alright."

She smiled and hugged me while whispering, "Give a smack and hug from me. For making me worry this much."

We let go and I nodded.

I turned around and said, "Let's do this."

They nodded and got into their respective spots. After trading glances we all touched the stones. And like before they surged with our colors. But this time it was much stronger and soon the whole portal was glowing. A swirl busted open in the gateway and it was opened.

Glowing in a bright red, Kai's red.

We walked up to it and headed through. But I took one last glance at the masters behind us. They all looked determined, and Sensei gave me a nod.

I smiled and jumped through. No turning back now.
