Kai POV: I was down the halls again, but I wasn't entirely sure what I was running from. All I know is that I have to get away, and I couldn't stop. The echoing screams were terrifying and loud, and all my injuries were making running difficult. Finally the screaming was far from me and I stopped to catch my breath and relaxed a little.
"You shouldn't have stopped." A dark, familiar voice said.
A voice that shook me to my core.
I turned right as he shoved his sword through. I coughed and he lifted me from the ground. I barely kept from screaming as I stared at his hollowed out eyes that glared at me.
"You should just give up, master." Was all he said before through me into the darkness.
I jolted up in the bed, and cringed from the movement. I fell back and took a deep breath as the pain faded.
It was just a dream. He can't hurt me anymore.
"Kai, are you alright?" someone said beside me. It was Master Wu.
I looked at him standing there and said, "Sensei?"
"Yes. The others were in need of sleep. And I wanted to speak with you." he stated, grabbing a chair and settling in.
"Okay." I sat myself up, though he did have to help a little.
After that he started, "Kai, are you really okay?"
"Well, it's gonna take some time, but I'll heal."
"That's not what I mean, Kai. I'm talking about your nightmares."
I looked away and said, "They'll go away. It's nothing to worry about."
"It's hurting you Kai. When I walked in you were having one, it was clear and you were clutching at your shoulder wound."
I looked at the wound and didn't say anything. Because I knew he was right. At first I didn't remember them, but now I was starting to. And while my injuries were healing at a fast rate I was still hurting. But I didn't want to think about it.
"I'll be fine, no worries." I said, still not facing him.
But I could tell that he didn't believe me and was about to say something when the doors opened.
Misako and Ronin walked in and he was carrying a girl that was covered in blood. It was mostly coming from her right side. Sensei immediately went over to help them.
"What happened?" I asked, slightly groaned from the strain.
"Take it easy Kai." Sensei said, as Ronin set the girl on the bed.
"We found outside a town near Ninjago City, and she was badly injured. She passed out on the way here." Misako answered as she got the equipment up.
I nodded, leaning back to watch them work. They worked quickly, setting up an IV and blood transfusion, Ronin carefully removed some bandages to clean the wound, and Sensei prepared the supplies.
"Looks like she has some smaller cuts and bruises. Nothing that won't heal with some time, the real problem is her side. It's a large open gash, but fortunately it doesn't look like there's any internal damage." she stated, then she went over to help them.
It took them some time, but they got her cleaned up and she was stable and still unconscious.
"She should be okay for now, and you look tired too Kai. So we'll leave you guys to get some rest." Sensei said, with a concerned look.
"Alright, see you guys soon." I responded, giving them a weak smile.
They just nodded and left. I sighed after they left and closed my eyes. As much as I didn't want to talk about it, I knew I couldn't avoid it forever. I just had to focus on other things first, like getting better so they don't try to trap me for answers.
I looked over at the girl, and froze.
She was still unconscious, but I could see her clearly now. She was wearing some white clothing they got her in. her chopped purple hair was slightly unkempt and the white streak was pushed away from her eyes. Even though she wasn't awake I recognized her immediately. But how is she here?
I thought she was dead.
