Kai POV: When I fell asleep I didn't have any dreams, just a lingering feeling of dread. Dread for waking up and talking more about what happened. I really didn't want to talk about it yet, and seeing Zane's face after accidentally telling him was too much. And I know he's going to tell the others. I guess this is better than telling them myself, but I still don't think I'm ready for them worrying about me.

As much as I wanted to stay sleeping I knew I had to wake up. Plus it was getting hard to keep my eyes closed, so I groaned and opened them.

Nya was right there, laying her head on my bed. She wasn't sleeping, I could tell, she was just closing her eyes. I hope she doesn't confront me about everything.

I moved a little and she sat up and said, "Morning."

"How long was I sleeping?" I asked, avoiding the topic.

She went along with it and said, "All night this time. The best you've done since you've been back."

"That's good." This is too awkward.

She then said, "So about… that. You don't have to worry about it. You don't need to tell us."

I was surprised and looked at her, she was being sincere and asked, "I don't?"

"Yeah, and Yuko told me a little bit about the guys chasing you." she said, again surprising me. Yuko actually told her her name.

I looked over and noticed that she was awake too. But she wasn't facing us, probably trying to give us space.

I looked back at Nya and said, "So she trusts you?"

"Probably only a little, but that's better than nothing." she answered, laughing a little. That's so true, given what she's like.

At that moment Zane walked in and said, "Alright, are you ready?"

"For what?" I asked, a little and grateful he also wasn't going to get into it.

"We're going to try walking today, if you feel up for it." He answered, and I sat up.

"Really?" I thought for sure they were going to make me rest longer.

"Of course we aren't going to push it too much, but because you're a fast healer we can start slowly." Nya said, putting a hand on my shoulder.

I took a deep breath and nodded. It's going to feel nice to be on my feet again. They understood and unhooked the machines and I slowly swinged my legs to the side. Nya got on my left and Zane was ready on my right. It felt a little embarrassing, but I grabbed both of their hands and got off the bed. My legs were shaking a lot and I felt unsteady on my feet, but I was standing.

Zane and Nya both smiled and he grabbed with his free hand a crutch. He said, "Given your arm it's not a good idea to use two, but we can try one until you have enough strength."

"Okay." I said, taking it with my good arm.

Nya slowly let go and I tested my balance. I was nervous about falling, but I managed to stay on my feet. I took a deep breath and took a few steps.

I was really unsteady and my limp was very… noticeable, but I was walking. Nya was staying close to my side just in case I fell over. However, she was smiling at how I wasn't falling. I managed to walk to the other side of the room and went back to my bed.

But I was getting worn out fast and my chest wound was starting to burn. Zane noticed and said, "I think we stop for today."

Part of me wanted to keep going so I wouldn't be stuck in bed anymore, but the other part knew I couldn't. Which sucks, but what can I do?

My chest wound was killing me by the time I got settled back into bed, and I couldn't even try to hide the pain as it pulsed with my heartbeat.

Nya noticed this and said, "I think it's time to clean your wound."

All I could do was nod, and Zane grabbed all the stuff. We worked quickly, but it still hurt. It wasn't infected but it was bleeding slightly again, so Nya re-did the stitches after she stopped the bleeding. They finally finished and Zane helped me lay back. It still hurts, but it's much better now.

"The wound must have been agitated from walking, so we'll need to keep a closer eye while doing exercises." Zane stated, making notes.

"Alright." I responded, really tired now. I hate how weak I am right now. I need to work on that.

Nya put her hand on my shoulder and said, "We'll be back later, get some rest."

I nodded and they left, and it seemed like they were feeling better about this. Of course I noticed how worried everyone has been, and I couldn't help but feel guilty about that. So it was good that they were getting better too.

I heard Yuko moving around and looked at her. She said, "You did good."

"Thanks, but I still have a ways to go." I responded.

"Maybe, but at least you're no longer trapped in bed." She laughed a little, which surprised me a bit. In the short time I've known her I've never seen her laugh.

"What?" she asked, and I realized I was staring.

"Sorry, it's nothing." I answered, not wanting to seem weird.

She just shrugged and I went to sleep. I was tired and I wasn't going to dwell on that for now.
