(hundreds of years later)

Episode 1 Part 1:

It was a cold morning in Oxford. Two sisters were having a rowing contest along the river, not realising that a centuries-old vampire was observing them from a bridge. One sister had long blond hair with ice blue eyes. The other had long blonde hair too but much lighter and thinner and bright dark eyes. They reached the garage for their rowboats.

"I win!" the older one goaded.

"Only because you had a headstart," the younger one complained.

The two just stared at each other with silent expressions before bursting into a peal of laughter. They hoisted up their boats and parked them back into the garage.

"Well, we'd better get back and you had better get changed, Diana. You've got a lecture to prepare for. And I'm gonna style your hair and make you as perfect as ever,"

"Rory!" Diana moaned.

"Stop moaning Sissy D. Time for you to wash," Aurora pulled her sister's hand and they quickly made their way back to their accommodations not far away from the Bodleian Library. They were happy that they could share two rooms during their time in Oxford whilst Diana was studying and Aurora was looking at famous artworks in the art museum. Even though alchemy wasn't her area, she particularly loved to look at the art of alchemy for inspiration. And that was one big reason why she was going to attend her sister's lecture. But the main reason was she was her best friend forever and she would always be around to support her.

She allowed Diana to have the first shower whilst she prepared her smart blue outfit. Once Diana was out and blowing her hair dry and dressing up, she hopped into the shower and quickly washed. Once she dressed herself up in a nice purple dress with a black jacket and high heels, she braided her sister's hair, then straightened her own before putting a purple flower clip at the side to pull some hair bangs back. She then prepared some quick toast and coffee.

Once they'd eaten, Diana started gathering and packing her papers.

Aurora started packing up some stuff too. She was just pulling out some books on art when a photo dropped out from between the pages. She picked it up. It was a picture of two people, smiling lovingly. Diana saw why Aurora had paused and sighed despondently. She walked to her sister, wrapping her arms around her shoulders to comfort her.

"I know. I miss them too,"

"I think they'd be very proud of you Diana,"

"Proud of us Aurora,"

"Do you ever wonder what life would have been like? If they were still alive?"

"I don't know," Diana confessed. "The only thing I think which would have been different is we'd be interested in magic. But you know we're not like either of them,"

"You're right about that," Aurora flattered her palm. A snowball formed above the top.

"Don't feel like you're an outsider Aurora. I love your ice magic,"

"I'm not like Aunt Sarah or Em or any of the other witches,"

"I think you're perfect just the way you are,"

Aurora turned to her. "Do you mean it?"

"I do," Diana smiled.

Aurora smiled back and hugged her tightly. "Thank D,"

"I promise I will always have your back,"

"You've no idea how much that means Diana. Now come on! We can't be late!"

Grabbing their bags, they rushed outside towards their bikes which were parked against a bike stand.

"Last one there makes the dinner tonight!" Aurora goaded.

"You are so on!" Diana accepted the challenge.

They took off and cycled along the streets of Oxford towards the university where Diana would give her lecture. They cycled under the famous Oxford bridge to reach a bike-parking spot near the Bodleian.

They reached a parking bay. When Diana and Aurora pulled out some chains, Diana's bike fell and her papers flew out of the front basket into the wind.

"Diana! Your papers!" Aurora screamed.

"Stop," Diana almost shouted. When she reached her hands forward, there was a strange glow and the papers magically flew back into order. The two turned back to see if anyone had seen that. No one had.

"Phew," Aurora breathed as her older sister bent down to pick up her work. "That was close,"

"Way too close," Diana cursed herself. "I'm a walking disaster,"

"No, you're not. These things happen. Now come on," Aurora pulled her sister along so they could make it to the university. They made it just on time.

Aurora sat down whilst Diana walked to the front and gave her astounding presentation on alchemy. She watched with deep fascination. Diana was more than just her sister. She was her best friend who always had her back since they were kids after they lost their parents as children. She always made her feel better whenever she felt her ice magic made her a total outcast amongst other witches.

Once Diana was finished, everybody clapped. A teacher of the University came up to her and offered her a professorship but she would need to complete her work by late October. Aurora embraced her sister. "You were amazing Diana! I knew you could do it!"

"Thank you for being here!"

"And congratulations on winning the chance for a professorship here. You deserve it after all the hard work you've done,"

"I'll only get it if I complete that paper,"

"Well, you'd better get cracking,"

"I guess I should," Diana's gaze tilted just a slight inch and she burst out excitedly. "Gillian?!"

Aurora turned to see a witch with short-red hair with dark eyes.

"Diana!"

Diana embraced the witch. "It's so good to see you,"

The witch Gillian turned to Diana's sister. "You must be Aurora," she offered a hand.

Aurora shook it. "Nice to meet you. Diana's told me all about you,"

"You're an artist, right?"

"Yep. And an illustrator,"

"What brings you to Oxford?"

"I'm here to get inspiration and to study artwork at galleries and in illustrations. I'm practically going to be working with Diana. She's been able to help me get access to the Bodleian,"

"How very generous of you Diana," Gillian praised.

"Well...shall we go have some tea somewhere?" Diana asked.

"I would love to Diana but I've got to get the art gallery for a tour. Maybe another time. I'll meet you two in the Bodleian in a few hours,"

"Nice to meet you Aurora," Gillian said.

"Nice to meet you too Gillian. See you later Diana," Aurora waved and she waddled away. She arrived at the Oxford art gallery and was able to arrive on time for the booked tour. Once the tour was finished, there was an hour left before she would meet her sister and her friend at the library.

She sat down on a seat and started taking down important notes for the artwork. She then started making her way towards the Bodleian when she heard her phone ringing. She fished it out of her bag and pressed it to her ear. "Hello Sophie," she said.

"Hi, Aurora,"

"How are you and Nathanial? How's the baby doing?"

"She's still lazy. But we're both good. How are you?"

"I'm doing very well. I'm just studying some artwork in Oxford for inspiration and to write a novel. I'm spending some time with my sister Diana. She's got the chance to have a professorship here. She just needs to hand in a paper,"

"How wonderful. Please tell her congratulations from us,"

"Of course. I do wish that I could introduce her to you two. But you know how busy she's been,"

"Aurora..it's only been a year since we met," Sophie assured. "I'm sure once a day we'll get to meet her. She sounds so sweet from everything you've told me about her,"

"Well, I'll bet she'd like you too,"

"You sure that's not gonna cause any problems?"

"Soph! This is the 21st century. Creatures don't need to be so hateful towards each other like they were before. Besides you know how much I hate how witches and vampires are always so down on daemons. I believe it's time we showed a good example that we don't need to be antagonising with each other,"

"That's very generous of you to say,"

"Anyways how are Nate's plans coming?"

"So far no luck,"

"It'll happen Soph, you just have to have faith about these things. Anyways I gotta go. I'm meeting my sister at the Bodleian library,"

"Lovely talking to you again Sophie. I hope to hear from you again soon. Bye!"

"Bye Aurora!"

Aurora turned off her phone and she arrived at the library where she found Diana waiting for her.

"What took you so long?" she asked as she walked in.

"Just...talking to a friend,"

"Who is this friend?"

"Just an old friend from art university,"

"You mean that pregnant daemon,"

"Yep. I would really love you to meet her,"

"Well...I would quite love to meet her too. But you know how crazy aunt Sarah can get,"

"What harm could meeting a daemon family do?"

They made their way to a comfortable seat in the library. Gillian came over. "Hey. How's it going?"

"Oh. The usual," Diana answered.

A man named Sean came over carrying a few books. "Here. Your Ashmole manuscripts,"

"Thank you," Diana said.

"Well...I'll head. How about a tea and coffee later?" Gillian offered. She looked at Aurora. "Maybe we can get to know each other better,"

"Course,"

"See you later," Diana said.

Gillian walked off.

Diana placed the Ashmole which was 782 on a book stand. She opened it. She then gave another one to her sister.

"Thank you," Aurora opened the Ashmole and she started looking through the artwork illustrated in those books and then started to type an article about them on her laptop. She twisted her head from time to time to check on her sister and what she was doing.

In a church not too far away from the library, Thomas de Clairmont was kneeling on his seat, holding rosary beads. He prayed silently, holding a photo of himself and his long-deceased partner Argus MacDuff.

He heard footsteps approaching.

"Thomas..."

Thomas turned his head to see his vampire father glancing at him with deep sympathy. He turned back again towards the alter. Matthew walked forward and he kneeled beside his son.

"I thought you'd be here,"

"You know I come here every during our time in Oxford,"

"You coming back to help Miriam in the lab?"

"Yes. Marcus should be finishing up soon. He's doing a wonderful job as a doctor," Thomas did the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit sign before standing up.

As Diana opened Ashmole 782, three pages had been cut out. The first picture she was was an illustration of the alchemical child in an upside-down vessel. She turned to another page. As she did, Aurora noticed that there were some moving words on the back of the page with the alchemical child.

"Diana," she whispered. "Look,"

Diana saw what she was pointing to. "What the..."

"I think the manuscript's bewitched,"

Diana bent a desk light to illuminate the words that were moving under the page.

As she did, Aurora began to feel a strange feeling emerging in her head. The lights started flickering on and off. She felt the world spinning in her head.

"Aurora..." her sister asked concerned for her. "Are you alright?"

"It's my head...my magic," Aurora clasped her head. "It's reacting to something,"

As she spoke, her hands began to turn icy.

"Aurora, hide your hands," Diana hissed.

Aurora pulled some gloves from her pocket and put them on. She couldn't break out and create an outburst of ice, not in a building full of humans.

Matthew and Thomas were just leaving the church when Thomas froze on his feet. He clutched his heart. He felt his veins swelling up underneath his skin.

"Thomas..." Matthew rushed to him. "Thomas..."

"My heart...it's reacting to something,"

Matthew tried to speak but he felt his blood pounding under his skin.

"You feel it too,"

A phone rang in Matthew's coat pocket. He picked it up. It was their close friend Miriam Shepard. "Do you feel it too?" she asked.

"Yes,"

"Our blood...it's reacting to something,"

As Aurora struggled to pull herself together, she noticed something was happening to the page with the illustration on. "Diana...the book,"

Both sisters looked at the page. Some words appeared but they were moving all over the place. Much to Diana's shock, they started appearing on her hand.

"What's...what's happening?" Diana began to freak out.

"Try touching the page. They might come off,"

Diana pressed her hands on the page. The words disappeared off her hand back onto the page but she sprung back off her seat.

Matthew had managed to help his son bear the pain and walk. They were walking along Oxford Street when they heard a squeal of birds. They turned and saw birds flying off the ceiling of the Boolean library.

"It must be from there," Matthew said. "Stay here," he ordered his son.

Her hand was burning with a mark that was an outline of the upside vessel. Looking at the book again, the words had disappeared and it looked normal again.

Aurora stared at their sister's brunt hand. "I'm so sorry,"

"It's not your fault," Diana whispered.

"Excuse me," a human in the library called from the back.

"Sorry," Diana called back in a whispered tone. She turned to her sister. "Let's get out of here,"

Another chapter is done. What did you all think? I hope you all love Aurora and her ice powers. She is portrayed by Cara Delevinge. Soon I'll make a profile for her and my other OC Characters. Please send reviews and let me know what you all thought.
