Episode 3 Part 3

"Hey sis," Diana stood up and hugged her. "Are you all right?"

"I'm all right Big Sis. There's no need to worry. "How was dinner?" Aurora asked.

"It was great," Diana didn't exactly sound very excited.

"Okay," Aurora crossed her arms. "What happened?"

Diana looked up to her for a second. Then she looked back. "I kissed him,"

"You kissed him?" Aurora didn't know whether to be appalled or astounded.

"Yes. He didn't back. He just walked away out of the room,"

"Must have been quite shocked by what you did. Uh…no offence," she said the last part more quickly. A sudden theory erupted from her mouth. "Oh M.G!. Can you imagine what Thomas would do if he found out you kissed his father?! He would rip you apart,"

"No, he wouldn't. I don't think he hates us enough to want to do that,"

Aurora remained unrelaxed. The thought of that vampire made her shudder.

"I can't say I blame you for saying that. I don't know why my actions ushered him away," Diana slumped into her seat again. "He looked like he could have struck me at any moment. He was trying to control himself like back at the river,"

"Well let's be glad he didn't. I'm sure we'll see him again soon. Maybe tomorrow,"

"Anyways, where did you go?"

"I went to the hospital Marcus works at. A while ago, he gave me his card and he said that if anything were to happen, I would come and see him. I thought it would be a safe option,"

"Good for you Aurora. One of the many things I love about you is you're open to others no matter what type of person they are,"

"Well…the world's got to be very peaceful if we're to live happy lives,"

"That's my sis. Did you run into Knox or Gillian?"

"No. Marcus took the pleasure of escorting me back. Just in case," Aurora wanted to say something else but she yawned and stretched her arms. "It's been a long day. Let's get some sleep,"

The sisters slept well that night. Diana suggested they'd just spend the morning relaxing with some spare wine. They did just that.

They woke up the next morning with happy thoughts. They decided to finish the wine from Diana's dinner yesterday. They had just shared at toast when they heard footsteps outside their dorm. Turning to the door they saw the shadows of feet and an envelope sliding under the gap.

Placing down her glass, Diana walked over to the door and picked up the envelope. She opened the door.

"Who is it?" her sister asked.

"There's no one here,"

"What is it?"

Diana walked over to her and she opened the envelope, pulling out A3 photos. They stared at them.

Aurora's hands flew to her open mouth, tears leaked out from behind her eyeballs. Diana tossed the pictures down in horror. They were the images of their parents, blooded, lifeless, pale.

Diana pulled Aurora into her arms as she began crying.

"Who would send these?" Aurora sobbed.

"I know exactly who," Diana said with a tearful grimace.

To Aurora's disgust, Diana took them to Gillian's house. She knew well something that this had something to do with this.

She knocked at the door. There was no response.

"Listen up Gillian! We need to talk now! And we're not leaving until you answer!"

Gillian answered. "Hello," she said a little nervously.

"Let us inside unless you'd like to be a block of ice," Aurora threatened.

Gillian staggered back, allowing them. They went to the kitchen.

"You know something about this don't you," Diana pulled out the photos and held them in front of her former friend.

"What…who are they?" Gillian stuttered.

"Our parents…who else?!" Aurora snapped in tears. "Knox sent them to us,"

Gillian feigned innocent. "Why would he do something like that?"

"Where is he?!" Diana demanded.

"I don't know,"

"Come on Diana!" Aurora took her hand. "She's not gonna give in," She pulled her away.

"Are you gonna give the book to the vampire?!" Gillian demanded.

Aurora turned on her in flash. "Stay away from us," she warned. Forming a ball of ice in her hand, she threw it and it struck Gillian in the face. She fell back, unconscious. She high-fived Diana and they walked out of the house.

"What are we going to do Diana?" Aurora asked.

"What we should have done before. We're gonna get that book out and finally figure out what's really in it,"

"Are you sure?"

"What other choice do we have?!"

There was no argument to be made. Together they made it to the library. Sean, an employee was tidying things up.

"Hey, Sean. I know you're closing," Diana spoke up. "My sister and I need to get a book. Ashmole 782,"

"People have been asking for that all week. The last person who had it was you. It's missing,"

"But Diana returned it," Aurora argued.

"I know. It's odd,"

"Could you at least check?"

Sean looked reluctant.

"Please," Diana implored.

"I'll look," Sean turned and went around the corner.

"Maybe Matthew is right," Aurora spoke up. "Maybe that book does only appear to you,"

Diana was about to say something but she turned quiet. She looked alerted.

"Diana?"

"We'll wait together shall we?" a familiar voice spooked them.

The two jumped and gasped. It was Peter Knox. They saw him standing a few metres away from them. Diana grabbed Aurora's hand and pushed her behind her to protect her. Looking around they saw the Oxford coven leader Sylvie on the upper floor. Another witch appeared from a hidden corner. Then to their rage, they saw Gillian appearing. She had a bruised forehead from Aurora's ice ball. She sent a cold glare at her which Aurora returned.

"Gillian thought you two might take the book out,"

Diana sighed in despondency.

"You see she understands it's important to us,"

"You're not getting that book," Aurora spoke bravely. "Don't any of you come any closer," she readied her ice magic in her palms.

"Are you planning to stop us all by yourself?" Peter challenged.

In truth Aurora was scared. "I'm not afraid of you,"

Peter smirked. "Yes, you are,"

"She's no coward like you Peter Knox," Diana spoke up. "You always see the worst in creatures and fear them with blindness,"

"You two are turning your back on your kind," Peter snapped.

"How dare you send us those photographs!" Diana marched on him.

"Diana no!" Aurora cried.

Peter grabbed Diana's shoulders. "Your father made your mother turn her back on her kind!"

"Get your hands off her!" Aurora grew angry. She cast an ice ball in her palm and she threw it in Peter Knox's face. He was knocked back, his tight hands leaving Diana's shoulders.

But he wasn't stunned. He raised his palm and in an instant, he sent magic shooting at Aurora's head. She began to scream in pain, her hands flew to her head as her head was now exploding.

"Stop!" Diana begged Knox.

With this binding knot… Aurora heard Peter's wicked voice echo in her head. She collapsed to her knees, unsure how much longer she could withstand his powerful spell. The last thing she saw was his cruel smile as swerved his hand. He fell to the floor, pale and cold.

"Aurora!" Diana screamed, horrified that she was harmed. "Rora!" she was close to tears.

"Diana…" Sean walked into the room. He stopped when he saw Aurora on the floor and the three strangers and Gillian enclosing Diana. He realised what was going on but didn't realise they were witches. "All of you get out this instant!"

Suddenly Peter Knox sent another spell at Sean and he collapsed.

"Sean!" Diana cried. As she cradled Aurora's s body, her sadness turned to anger, anger at Knox for harming her darling sister whom she had loved and somewhat raised for nearly twenty-eight years and her close friend. The air seemed to blow around her, papers were flying everywhere. She stood gently placing Aurora on the floor. In a flash, she turned and the wind was shooting out of her and Knox and Gillian and the witches threatening name, blowing them back.

"I am telling you that you shouldn't associate yourself with Diana for another moment. Think of our family!" Thomas was having a bitter argument with Matthew at a nearby café. He had interrogated his father about his dinner the other night and he was not at all happy to learn that Diana had kissed his father.

"I am thinking of that witch," Matthew tried his hardest not to shout back. They were in public and he couldn't make a scene,"

"What do you even see in her?! You've only known her a few days and you know nothing about her,"

"I know enough,"

"She doesn't know enough about you,"

Matthew was about to answer when a strange echo rang his eardrums. He heard wind flying, heavy breathing.

"Father….father?. Are you even listening to me?" Thomas snapped.

Matthew was drifting away from the conversation.

"Look at me! Look at me!" Thomas shouted louder.

In a sudden instant, Matthew sped off. Thomas watched him rocket over to the Bodleian Library. He growled in annoyance. He was tempted to speed off after him but in anger, he turned away sulking.

Matthew had just entered when he saw Diana collapsing to the floor. Powerful gusts of air were flying everywhere. Peter Knox and some witches had been knocked down. Aurora was unconscious.

He fell to his stomach, crawling over to Diana. "Hold on Diana! Just breathe!" he clutched her shoulders. "Just breathe!"

Diana inhale in deep breaths and calmed down. In an instant, the powerful air surrounding them received and the room was calm. Matthew watched as the witches retreated outside.

Diana's inhaling slowed. She took a moment to relax her body." Thank you," she breathed, tears leaking out. "Thank you,"

"I've got you," Matthew stroked her hair.

Diana twisted her head towards her sister. She was still unconscious and now looked very pale like snow. "Rora," she cried.

Matthew saw Aurora's state. "What happened?"

"Knox attacked her,"

"Let's get her to bed. I'll examine her and make sure she's okay,"

"She looks so pale,"

"Let us hope Peter's attack has not harmed her heavily,"

Just then Thomas appeared out of nowhere. "I can't believe you just rushed out on me like that!" he snapped. He paused when he saw how messy the room was. "What happened here?"

"Peter Knox," Diana said.

"Did you and him try to attack Matthew?!" Thomas demanded.

"Thomas!" Matthew snapped. "That's enough! Knox attacked Aurora and Diana fought him off! Call your brother and have him come over as soon as possible,"

Thomas huffed.

"Just do it," his father ordered.

Thomas huffed again. Reluctantly he pulled out his phone and called. "Marcus? Marcus, are you there?"

"No to be impatient Tom! I'm here!" Marcus called back. "What is it?"

"Peter Knox attacked the witches at the library. He's knocked Aurora out. Get over here now!" Thomas hung up the phone before Marcus could say anything else.

In less than fifteen seconds, Marcus arrived in a blur. He was horrified to see Aurora on the floor. "Oh my gosh," Instantly he checked Aurora.

"Is she…" Diana was beginning to cry.

"She's really cold and she's not responding to anything,"

"Take her to the hospital," Matthew ordered. He helped Diana stand up whilst Marcus lifted Aurora from the floor in his arms.

"I should go with her," Diana tried to walk but the moment she took a step, she collapsed sideways. Matthew caught her.

"No way. You're so exhausted. I'll take you back to your rooms,"

Diana couldn't agree. Before she could argue, Thomas came walking over. He was about to say something but his father spoke first.

Matthew turned to Thomas. "You're going to sort out the library and make sure that human Sean knows nothing of what has happened,"

"I'm not leaving you two alone with those witches. For all we know…"

"Just do it, Thomas," Marcus countered, carrying Aurora away, her hair flying over Marcus's arms in long strands of platinum blonde.

Matthew escorted Diana out. Thomas sent a frosty glance at Diana who turned away. She was afraid of him.

They went outside and Marcus started carrying Aurora off in a different direction. Diana remained anxious. She felt so guilty for what Peter had done to her.

"I'll look after her, I promise," Marcus spoke committedly.

Diana nodded thanks to him before allowing Matthew to help her walk away.

By the time it was nightfall, Thomas had finished sorting out the Bodleian and ensured that he gave Sean a good cover story once he woke up. He popped over to Diana's accommodations to check on his father. He entered through the open door. He saw Matthew packing Diana's clothes in a suitcase whilst she was lying in bed, under the influence of deep sleep.

His father sensed him. "Did you sort out the Bodleian?" he asked, not looking up at him.

"Yes. What happens now?"

"I'm going to find Peter Knox," he stood up.

"Are you insane? If you make a move on him, it will be seen as a challenge to the Congregation?"

In less than a second, Matthew was right in front of his face in a blur. "Peter Knox sent the Bishop sisters those photographs. He threatened Diana and attacked Aurora. He has to pay with his life?"

"Are you seriously considering endangering our family just to avenge some witches who shouldn't be our concern?"

"Are you questioning my loyalty?" he snarled.

"You're darn right I am. Every moment you spend with that witch, you put our family in more and more danger. To go against a member of Congregation will provoke war. What would Phillipe think of you?"

Matthew turned cold at his words. He turned his head back towards Diana. "I'm taking her to Sept Tour,"

"Not! You can't put Ysabeau through this!"

"It's my house too!"

"No! This has gone far enough! You are not bringing a witch to our house! This will be enough to make the Congregation want to punish you,"

"If you will not support me then leave my sight. And stay out of my way,"

Thomas wanted to speak but no words came out. He turned and left; his eyes wet. His father had never spoken to him like that before. He walked through Oxford, wiping them away. He pulled out his phone and texted his brother. They met at a café. Thomas lectured Marcus on Matthew's plan.

"And now he's going to take her to Sept Tour,"

"What?"

"He never listens to me anymore. And he ordered me to leave in the unkindest way ever,"

Marcus looked at him with sympathy. "I'm sure he didn't mean it that way,"

"I think he did," Thomas retorted gently. "He's gonna choose the wellbeing of Diana over our family,"

"Don't speak like that like our father. And especially don't act like those witches are our enemies. Aurora was just attacked by Peter Knox who threatened her and her sister. Is that enough to prove they're on our side?"

Thomas didn't say anything back. He just stood up from his seat, pushing his hands into his pockets. Marcus's eyes never left him. He felt so sad watching his brother stalk away like that. He was going to talk to Matthew about the way he had treated him.

Matthew remained by Diana's side until she steered in her sleep and woke up. She sat up slowly, her eyes laid on Matthew sitting next to the window.

"What time is it?" she asked.

"Five o'clock. You've been asleep for ten hours,"

Once he answered, Diana remembered Aurora. "Is Aurora…" she drifted off.

"She's all right. Marcus contacted me earlier. I'm afraid Peter Knox's spell has caused her to fall into a coma,"

Diana was shocked. "When will she wake up?"

"I don't know. What's important is she's alive," Matthew wouldn't let her heart be broken by the news. "You have to leave Oxford,"

"No. I can't leave,"

"Peter Knox will come after you,"

"I can deal with Peter Knox,"

"Not yet. Your power is extraordinary but it's undisciplined. You have to come to terms with it somewhere safe,"

"I'll go to my aunts' house and bring Aurora with me,"

"No. I'm taking you to my family home in France. Aurora will be staying here until she recovers. Once she wakes up, Marcus and Miriam will be watching her. No witch will dare trespass on vampire land. You'll be safe there,"

"We have to bring Aurora with us too,"

"No. There is a huge possibility that witches will find alternate ways to get to you once I take you there,"

"I thought you'd said I'd be safe there,"

"You will. But that doesn't mean, someone won't try. Knox attacked Aurora because she was trying to protect you from him. If you want her to be safe…"

"You're asking me to leave her behind?" Diana couldn't agree to this. Already a tear had shed. Since their parents died, she had sworn to protect her little sister and never leave her behind.

"Diana…I'm sorry but this is the only way for both of you to be safe. Marcus and Miriam will take good care of her. And if anything, else happens, I will have her delivered over to my family house as soon as possible. You have my word,"

Diana sensed the sincerity in his eyes and did the most regretful thing she had ever done in her life. She agreed. If it meant her sister would be safe, then it was a choice worth choosing. "Can I at least see her before we go?"

Matthew nodded. "Of course," he walked over to Diana and then slowly planted a kiss on her lips which she returned. They packed their bags and prepared some suitcases for Aurora for when she would recover. Diana locked the door and then escorted Matthew to his car, holding his hand. He then drove her to the hospital. Instantly Diana dashed through the corridors towards her sister's hospital room. Marcus was inside with her. He allowed Diana inside and Diana instantly sat down and clutched her sister's hand, rubbing it tenderly.

Marcus saw Matthew outside the open door and sent him a serious glare. He walked outside, beckoning his vampire father to have a conversation with him. He was not proud of the way he had treated Thomas earlier.

"Did you have to send him away in such an unkind manner?"

"He is being awful to those witches for those reasons,"

"You know why. I hate his attitude as much as you do, but at least I don't try to hurt him on purpose. Don't you miss Argus? Or Phillipe?"

Matthew's face seemed to stiffen when Marcus spoke those words. "You know I do. And you know how much I understand how Thomas feels,"

"Then prove it to him. Talk to him at least before you go,"

"No. I need to give him some time alone first. I'll contact him as soon as I get Diana to Sept Tour,"

"You know I don't really agree with that idea. But I would do it for Aurora as well,"

"You and Miriam must keep tabs on her at all times. If the witches strike again, we bring her over,"

"Can't we just wait till she recovers then she can go with you and Diana?"

"Peter Knox attacked her because he wants the book which only Diana can summon. It would put them both in danger if they're together. And they cannot turn to witches anywhere in the world for protection. We are their only hope,"

Marcus nodded accepting his words. "Just promise me you will try and make things right with Tom. I don't want to lose anyone else in our family,"

"I will," Matthew knocked on the door. "Diana…it's time,"

Diana turned to Matthew and nodded. She looked one more time at Aurora. "We're gonna be together soon. Okay?" she knew her coma-state sister wouldn't answer but it helped her to talk so that it kept reminding her that she was still alive. She kissed Aurora's head and stroked her unmoving hand one last time. She turned and slowly left the room, holding up her arm until it slipped through her fingers and dropped by her side. Matthew kept his firm but gentle arm around her shoulders at all times till she was escorted to the door of his car.

She sat inside. As they drove away, he pulled out a picture of the two of them in Oxford together. A tear fell on the face of his sister. She looked out through the open window, tearing her eyes away from that tear-bringing photo. She starred outside the window. They came to some traffic lights. She remained stuck in her position. She stared out at everyone on the side of the road, scanning every face.

One face was staring at her with dark eyes that seemed to send quivers down her spine. It was Thomas. With a frosty face, he turned away and he merged in with the walking tourists.

And that's episode 3 done! What did you all think? Please send more reviews and ideas. They're really helpful! So, it seems Thomas and Matthew are having conflict with one another, just because they have different opinions of witches. Will they make up? We'll have to wait and find out. And poor Aurora. let's hope she's not a coma fin or very long. See you all soon.
