Phase 28: Urban Jungle
The sounds of battle echoed in the ruined city as Undertaker forces along with armored vehicles engaged hordes of Oozes. A Valkyrie is overlooking the battle to be commanding the Undertaker forces. "Keep moving, wipe out the Ooze. That man has to make everything more difficult," she thought as she was wielding an M14 Rouge battle rifle which is a full auto M14 converted in a modern bullpup shell.
She has a bipod grip and an ACOG scope to fire the full-powered rounds at the group of Ooze as she rapidly head-shooting the enemies to clear the way for her troops to clear around the block. "Gee, so many of them," the Valkyrie said.
"New orders if you find your older sister. Bring her to me dead or alive. I need to keep testing the prime subject, it will help speed up the Valkyrie Serum," Linda said.
"Of course. Me and my sisters will look out for her. She could be in one of the traitor's safehouses," the Valkyrie said.
"That bastard is good at hiding in plain sight. All his safehouses are in place in areas filled with tons of infected making it hard to search and destroy them," Linda said.
"Yes it's quite annoying," the Valkyrie said.
"New sisters will be on the way soon. Your elder sister's DNA will be useful to speed up the process and avoid errors. Keep to your duties," Linda said.
"Yes madam," she said as several battles like this one were happening across the city due to Ren's madness.
Back with the trip within their safehouse, Rachel wakes up from her slumber to enjoy her peaceful sleep with her boyfriend. "Oh, that was lovely," she said as she spread out her long limbs. She looks down to see her cute boyfriend is resting calmly to kiss him on the lips.
She gets out of bed to grab her battle suit to slip it on to zip up the front to encase her whole body from her feet to her neck. She puts on her armored vest to fit onto her combat jumpsuit perfectly while grabbing her gear and backpack to complete her set.
"Perfect," she said as she went into the armory to kit out her new M8A2 assault rifle. She grabs some attachments to make it fit her needs.
She puts on a Hybrid Sight on top, a Laser Sight on the side of the barrel, an M320 grenade launcher under the barrel, and Dual Mags to give her 50 rounds of ammo split between two magazines stacked side by side.
"Hey Rachel, I got word from Peter about an ammo depot within the city. He wants you to take it out and it would be good practice for your new Valkyrie abilities," Elza said.
"Okay, I am on it," she said as she slung the rife on her back with her XDM pistol and MAG-7 pocket shotgun in holsters on her legs. She places her Tanto sheath above her boot. She kept her long hair in a high ponytail.
"Gee, looking like Samus with that height and skintight body jumpsuit," Elza said.
"My suit is not just for show," Rachel said as she wielded her rifle to go through the window and hop on the street.
"Good luck, Peter left a map of the whole city here. I will use it to guide you to the location," Elza said.
"Thanks, E," Rachel said as she leaped up a wall to grab onto the ledges to climb upward towards the roof. She can see with her new sharper eyes that it looks so eerie and abandoned. "This sight is haunting," she said.
"50,000 people used to live here and now it's a ghost town filled with walking corpses of those same people," Elza said.
"Seems like they are having a hard time dealing with them," Rachel said as she ran on the rooftops to swiftly climb over objects.
"Yeah, we fuck them up at the gates. Wiping out a lot of their forces along with the commander Gwen tossing them in disarray. Lucky for us, the infected give us cover since our safe house is in a heavily infected area. Peter has ways to get us out of here without drawing out the Ooze and other bioweapons," Elza said.
"I should stick to the roofs," Rachel said as she noticed a few Undertakers on top of the roof. She pulls out her Tanto dagger to swiftly come in to catch the enemies by surprise to slice off the head of the Undertaker. She thrust her blade into the second Undertaker's head and tossed the body into the final soldier. She kicks it over the edge of the building to smash onto the floor behind dying on impact below.
Several Undertakers noticed this from the other roof nearby as they opened fire on her position. She raises her rifle to put rounds down range to strike an Undertaker Grunt in the chest to take it down.
"Keep going onward," Elza said on the radio as she tossed a flashbang to blind them. She uses her powerful legs to leap across the gap and land on the next rooftop. She swiftly fires her M8A2 to take out the enemy troopers in rapid succession.
She gets behind the cover to see an Undertaker Heavy unloading a bunch of gunfire from its machine gun. She fires several rounds to take off the helmet of the Heavy to follow up with a single headshot to put the big guy down. She lobs a grenade from her M320 to take out a group of Grunts to kill them off in a blast wave and sharp pieces flying into their bodies.
She hears the crack of a sniper round going above her head to sees a few Scouts trying to pin her position. She hears a whistling noise to sees something coming her way. "Oh shit, mortar," she said as she runs away to risk getting sniped in the head. She felt a sniper round hitting the back of her armored vest shrugging it off to leap towards the next roof. The mortar slams into the roof she was on before with white phosphorusburning everything there.
"Yo, what is happening?" Elza asked.
"E, there are lobbing white phosphorus mortars at me," Rachel said as she fired a few rounds to take out one of the Scouts.
"Oh, that is bad. That thing burns anything it touches. Don't get caught in it and you better not breathe it, it will burn away your insides," Elza warned as Rachel switched to the other mag to fast reload. She fires rounds at the two Scouts trying to figure out where the mortar is.
"Where is it?" she questioned as she dodged another sniper shot to fire her M8A2 assault rifle to take out the Scout. She sees a trail of smoke which shows where the mortar crew for the white phosphorus mortar heading for Rachel's location while making a deep whistle.
She rushes away to leap across the gap between buildings to land on the next building's roof to see the mortar unleash a fiery white blast.
"At least it keeps things warm for me. Now I know where the mortar launcher is now," she thought as she saw the mortar on the building nearby. She fires her M320 launcher to lob a sticky grenade to land on the location unleashing a big blast killing the mortar crew and destroying the mortar launcher.
"Thank goodness," she said as she heard whistling again to see another trail of smoke in the distance. "Not again," she runs off the roof to head for the next roof but the mortal shell is heading for the roof she is jumping to.
"Oh crap," she kicks off the edge of the roof to fall and then grabs the ledge of a window to leap inside. The mortar crashes into the building unleashing white flames onto it. "Well, there is a second mortar and I am in the building which is on fire," she said as she ran through the rooms to see a few Undertakers.
"Better get out of there or become a boiled egg," Elza said as she switched to her MAG-7 compact shotgun to blast one in the back tearing it up. She latches a grenade onto its wounded back and kicks it into the rest of the Undertakers killing them in an explosion.
She feels the heat coming into the building with the fire spreading. She rushes out the window to run along the wall on the side of the building to go into another window to stab an Undertaker inside. She draws her mini shotgun to blast away at the mutant soldiers.
"I managed to escape the building," she said.
"Good, you are going to need to take it out," Elza said as Rachel began to sneak her way to the mortar launcher. She jumps out of the window to cling to the ledge of a window to jump up to another and climb on the side of the building to avoid getting into fights.
An Undertaker is by the window as she stabs the soldier with her Tanto dagger and drags him out making it fall to its death. She goes inside to use her Tanto to begin taking out Grunts one by one, not making a sound. She goes behind a Grunt to grab its head and sharply twists its neck killing it instantly.
She leaps into the building where the mortar is which is on the roof above her. "Time for some payback," she switches to her M8A2 assault rifle to begin mowing down enemies as the 6.8 SPC rounds tear through them.
She sees an Auto Turret spitting out a bunch of rifle rounds to get behind the cover as she moves around to strike it at the side to destroy it. She rolls a Heavy grenade into a room to take out all the Undertakers inside.
She goes up the stairs to see another Auto Turret which hits Rachel in the chest to bounce off her armored vest to get away from the field of view of the Auto Turret. She tosses a Shock grenade which disables the machine with a burst of electricity.
She goes up the stairs to destroy the turret to keep going. She opens fire with her auto rifle to take down several enemies to use another Heavy grenade to take out a group of enemies to clear the room up. She goes up on the roof to use the rifle's M320 to toss a sticky grenade to take out the mortar crew and their equipment.
"Okay, that is every mortar destroyed," Rachel said.
"Good, I don't need a roast Rachel sandwich," Elza said.
"Oh, I sound delicious. My butt has the most meat along with my thighs," Rachel joked.
"Oh, shut up and keep moving," Elza said as Rachel giggled at this. She uses her powerful legs to leap over a big gap and land on another rooftop. She adjusts her Hybrid Scope to look through it to see a guard post.
"Seems like they have an outpost here," she said.
"Yeah, they are trying to contain the outbreaks within the city. Destroying them will cause chaos and keep them off our backs," Elza said as she saw a nearby Undertaker Scout stab it in the neck killing it quickly.
She sees two weapons, which are a TAC-308 bolt action sniper rifle and an APC10K machine pistol on the corpse. "Don't mind if I do," she said as she put the auto pistol into her backpack and attached the rifle to the side of her backpack.
She sees a bunch of guards patrolling the area as she leaps onto a Grunt and crashes into it. She stabs the mutant soldier in the neck to crave it out as she sticks to the shadows. She sneaks in and slits the throat of lonely guards to thin out the defenses.
"Time to go loud," Rachel lobs a stick grenade from her rifle's M320 to destroy the guard tower seeing it fall apart into a broken pile. The guard station is trying to find the invader as Rachel is opening fire with her M8A2 to cut them down.
She sees two Humvees coming up with Miniguns mounted on top to begin firing their rapid barrage. She leaps up through a second-story window of a nearby building to get higher ground and cover. She tosses a shock grenade to disable the Humvees and their minigun turrets.
She lobs a sticky grenade from the M320 to latch onto the Humvee to take it out along with the second one in a mighty explosion. She goes up to the dead soldiers to collect their magazines and grenade rounds for her M8A2/M320 combo.
"I took out the guard post," Rachel said.
"Gee, you are a one-woman army out there," Elza said.
"It would be scary to fight a group of heartless Valkyries in a battle," Rachel said.
"Let's hope we don't fight them anytime soon. Okay, you should be close to the ammo depot. Use the C4 to blow up the structure and bury it all," Elza said as Rachel leaped onto a roof to see the warehouse nearby covered with guards.
"Should be easy enough," she said as she moved in the shadows of the buildings to approach the warehouse. She is stabbing and slicing the necks of the guards to enter the huge ammo dump. "Christmas came early," she said to see all the weapons inside to find a Desert Eagle on a table. "Hand Cannon, keeping this," she puts the large handgun into the backpack along with some ammo for it.
She places the C4 on the support pillars which will collapse the entire building. She hides and kills the incoming guards inside to clear her way to the rest of the pillars. "Okay I have done it," she said to pull out a trigger to sync with the C4 and head outside.
Suddenly gunfire can be heard as the Undertaker notices her in the corner. "Better get back here," Elza said.
"Yes E, I am on it," Rachel said as she fired her auto rifle at the incoming Undertakes. She runs at full speed to use the laser sight to aim at the enemies putting them down with ease.
She shoves her shoulder into an Undertaker to launch it into a wall breaking its spine on impact. She is tearing through enemies and heading upward to jump on top of crates to get to the upper levels to shoot down turrets and guards.
She opens a hatch to get onto the roof to run away to gain some distance before pulling the trigger and unleashing a huge explosion tearing up the warehouse. This triggers all the ammo to set off as well. Rachel is on top of a building to see the ammo dump become a huge fireball.
"Well seems like you are getting used to your abilities," Jessica said as she was on top of the roof with her.
"Jessica, you managed to get inside," Rachel said.
"Yep, in that chaos I slipped through. I have observed your power and it's a sight to behold. The Valkyries are the pet project of the Overseer to make a powerful army of deadly women like herself to enforce her new world," Jessica said.
'Who is she?" Rachel questioned.
"Her origins come back to the beginnings of Umbrella and its founder Oswell Spencer," Jessica said as Rachel sighed at this.
"It always comes back to that. Wesker, the Ashford twins, and Miranda. It all comes back to that crazy old man," Rachel said.
"Indeed, he still haunts the planet despite being dead since 2006 by his own creation's hands. The Weskers, Albert has been long dead but his sister is unknown due to the nature of T-Phobos being able to transfer a copy of her mind to another body," Jessica said as Rachel was confused by this.
"Able to transfer your mind into another body," Rachel said as Jessica disappeared from view.
"We are fighting the same enemy. Bioterrorism is a threat to everyone; we will meet again. Tall, bright, and blond," Jessica said on the radio.
"I need to get back before more show up," Rachel said as she sped into the shadow to head back to the safehouse to carry away the weapons and ammo she collected.
