Chapter 14
"The Rampaging Paraside"
It was a new day in the Battle City tournament, but Yugi and Mai were waiting on someone at the fountain in Domino City Plaza. "That slacker should've been here ten minutes ago, we've both got duels to win." Mai said, impatiently. But then, the person they were waiting for showed up, it was none other than Joey Wheeler. "Here comes Joey now." Fluttershy said as he came running up. "Hey, guys! Long time, no see!" he called as he came to a stop and gave Mai a high five.
"Still in the tournament, are you, Wheeler?" Mai asked. "You bet. I'm already the proud owner of two locator cards." Joey responded. "Well, that means I'm either twice as good as you or you're half as good as me." Mai stated as she held up her locator cards, revealing she had four. "What?! You got four locator cards?!" Joey asked in shock. "Awesome job, Mai. I've got three so far." Yugi said as they all compared locator cards. "Oh, I'm sorry, Joey. You have the least." Fluttershy said, softly. "How am I gonna get to the Battle City finals at this rate?" Joey asked, frustrated. "Don't worry, Joey. There's still plenty of time left, and you need six locator cards to get to the finals, so you're almost there." Fluttershy said, reassuringly.
"Well, none of us are gonna get to the finals if we're standing around here." Mai pointed out. "Good point, just watch out, cause I'm about to do some serious catching up." Joey responded. "Good luck and miss me, Joey." Mai said before blowing him a kiss with a wink. "Oh, and Fluttershy, don't forget to invite Yugi to accompany you whenever you're off-duty." she added, though Fluttershy just blushed. "Just don't forget, I'm not the same Duelist I was back on Duelist Kingdom." Joey said as he and Mai walked separate ways. But Fluttershy noticed Yugi seemed a bit worried.
"What's wrong, Yugi?" she asked. "It's nothing. It's just that I know one of Marik's hunters is after me. But I'll be ready for him." Yugi responded, determined to defeat this quiet one that Marik spoke of after his duel with Arkana. "Well, good luck, Yugi. I may be a rule enforcer, but I'll be rooting for you." Fluttershy said before giving him a good luck kiss. "Thank you." Yugi said with a small smile before they both went different ways. However, little did Yugi know that he was being watched by the quiet one himself. 'I'm watching every move you make, little Yugi.' Marik said with an evil cackle as he watched through the eyes of a bald, pierced mime.
Meanwhile, at Kame Game, Tea and Tristan were talking with Sol. "Yugi already took off?" Tea asked. "Yes, he wanted to get an early start on the tournament today." Sol explained. "I told you to get off the phone so we could meet him on time!" Tea scolded to Tristan. "Yeah, well, I was on the phone with Serenity, since I wanted to give her some company while she's up at Yonezato Hospital recovering." Tristan explained. "Busy flirting with her, were you? At this rate, I'll never see Yugi dueling." Tea responded. "Not to worry. I'll slip on my walking shoes and help you find him." Sol said with a smile.
Meanwhile, Joey was walking the streets of Domino City, searching for an opponent. "I better start snagging some locator cards so that Mai and Yugi don't stay ahead of me for too long. But who's gonna be my next opponent? Well, I guess just about anyone will do. After all, my deck hasn't let me down yet." he said to himself. "Excuse me, are you Joey Wheeler?" asked a kid who came up to him. "Yeah. Can I help you?" Joey responded. "I knew I recognized you, runner-up in the Duelist Kingdom, right? Think I could have your autograph?" the kid asked, surprised that Joey was just walking the streets like a regular guy.
"Well, you're right about me being the runner-up of Duelist Kingdom. And I'm not just walking the streets, I'm part of the Battle City tournament. Now, who should I make it out to?" Joey responded. "Let's see. Oh, I know. My sister Jessica. She's at home with a cold, and I wanted to give her something special. This'll totally blow her mind. She wants to be a Duelist like you one day." the kid explained. "Okay, let's see. I know! Get well soon, Jessica, signed Joey Wheeler." Joey said as he signed the piece of paper. "Say, Joey, that Duel Disk is totally cool." the kid said as he looked at it. "Yeah, it's what shows I'm in the tournament. And it pretty much goes with my shirt, don't it?" Joey replied.
"Do you think it would be okay if I tried it on for a second? I promise to be careful with it." the kid asked. "Well, okay. Just be extra careful, my deck is in there." Joey responded as he took his Duel Disk off and let the kid hold it. "Wow. It's a bit heavier than I thought." he said. "Well, being a Duelist is a tough job, and if you do it right, the Duel Disk can feel a whole lot heavier than it is." Joey pointed out as he finished his autograph. But as he turned around, he saw the kid running off with his Duel Disk. "Hey! My Duel Disk! Get back here, you thieving rat!" he shouted as he ran after the boy.
Not far away, Tea, Tristan and Sol were crossing a bridge built over the street, searching for Yugi. "Domino City's so big, Yugi could be anywhere." Tea said. "Don't worry, Tea. We have a pretty good view of the street from up here, so we should be able to spot him if he's around here." Sol said reassuringly. Right then and there, Tristan spotted Joey chasing after the thief. "Is that a chase?" Tea asked. "Well, they aren't playing Tag, that's for sure." Sol stated. "Wait a second, that's Joey! I got you back, man!" Tristan said as he leaped down from the stairs and landed in front of the kid before grabbing him by the collar when he tried to run.
"What's the rush?" he asked. "Let me go!" the kid demanded. "Tristan? What are you doing here?" Joey asked. "Looking for Yugi, of course. Now what's this kid doing with your Duel Disk?" Tristan asked back. "That's what I'm about to find out." Joey stated. Soon, the kid is taken somewhere to confess. "I'm sorry. I didn't know how else to become a Duelist." he said. "See, I finally built a deck that I could duel with, when this guy stole all my cards. I couldn't catch up with him, and that's when I met this other guy who told me he'd give me a rare card to start building a new deck in exchange for your Duel Disk." he explained.
"So someone put you up to this?" Tristan asked. "I know it was wrong, I just wanted to become a Duelist like some of the greats, that's all." the kid responded. "The most important part about being a great Duelist is always playing with honor. There'd be no satisfaction to cheating your way into the tournament." Sol pointed out. "You're right. I'm sorry." the kid responded. "So, who's the punk that stole your dueling deck and the guy who told you to steal my Duel Disk in exchange for a rare card?" Joey asked. "I didn't see what the guy who took me deck looked like, but I DO know what the guy who made me take your Duel Disk looked like. He had bug-eyed glasses and a haircut that looked like a giant blue beetle." the kid explained, instantly ringing a bell to those who were at Duelist Kingdom.
"Bug-eyed glasses, haircut that looks like a giant blue beetle, that only fits one guy. Weevil Underwood!" Tea said as she put two and two together. "Guess Weevil is still up to his old tricks, huh, guys?" Tristan asked. "Now he went and got me angry. Where is he? I'm gonna teach that bug a thing or two!" Joey stated. "I think I met him by the water fountain in the park." the kid said. "Then he's all mine!" Joey declared as he ran off in the direction of Domino Park. "Wait for us!" Tristan called as he and Tea went after him. "Goodbye, son." Sol said as he leisurely followed behind. "See ya! And good luck, Joey!" the kid called before smirking.
Later, he was running down an alleyway, where Weevil himself was waiting. "So, were you successful?" he asked. "Totally. I did exactly as you said and he believed every single word." the kid answered. "Then it looks like the fool has crawled right into my web. Wheeler is mine." Weevil said, clearly intending to duel Joey. "Well, I held up my end of the deal. Will you hold up yours?" the kid asked. "Of course. Here you go." Weevil responded as he handed a card to the kid, which turned out to be a simple Gokibore card. "Wait a second. It's just a Gokibore. I thought you said you had something rare for me." the kid said after looking at his reward. "Well, are you sure that's what you want?" Weevil asked. "Yeah, of course." the kid responded. "Then how about a taste of the rare Arachno Slime!?" Weevil said as he pulled out a spider squirt gun and fired some sticky slime at the kid before walking away with a chuckle.
'My plan is coming together perfectly. Yugi may have defeated my Great Moth back at Duelist Kingdom, but his buddy Wheeler, he won't stand a chance!' he thought. Meanwhile, at Yonezato Hospital, Serenity turned her head toward the door, as if she heard someone come in, but due to her temporary blindness, she couldn't see who it was, though little did she know that there was no one there until a voice was heard. "Kenta? You can't hide from me." called out a nurse before stepping through Serenity's door. "Serenity, did you hear anyone come in here?" she asked. "No, why do you ask?" Serenity asked back. "There's a little boy running around the ward trying to avoid getting his x-rays taken." the nurse explained.
"He must be scared." Serenity suggested. "Yeah. He won't go near the machine, even though I told him its completely painless." the nurse said before closing the door. "It's okay. You can come out now." Serenity said, revealing she knew that Kenta himself was hiding in her room. "You knew I was here?" he asked. "I could hear you breathing under the bed." Serenity answered. "Oh. So, how come you didn't turn me in?" Kenta asked. "I was kind of scared of some of the things they had planned for me around here, too. But, you know, some of the tests aren't as bad as you think they are." Serenity revealed. "There must be something I can do to pay you back for covering me. Any ideas?" Kenta suggested. "Yeah. You could check out the Battle City Website for me." Serenity said. "Sure. But how come?" Kenta asked.
"My brother's in the tournament." Serenity answered. "He's a Duelist?" Kenta asked, sort of excited. Meanwhile, in the park, Joey and the group were looking for Weevil. "Where is that bug-eyed punk?" Joey asked. "That kid said he'd be around here." Tristan recalled. "Looking for someone?" Weevil asked as he revealed himself. "I thought I smelled a dung beetle." Joey said. "That's my greeting after all this time?" Weevil asked. "You made that kid steal my Duel Disk, didn't you?" Joey accused. "It was the only way to get your attention." Weevil explained. "Well, you got it front and center." Tristan said. "Alright, time to settle this fair and square, with a duel." Joey said. "Joey, be careful. After all, he cheated to get an advantage in the tournament, and threw Yugi's Exodia cards off the boat to Duelist Kingdom." Tea advised, bringing back the memories of the boat ride to the island.
"Be careful where you point fingers, Tea. It might get bitten by one of my pets." Weevil warned. "Alright, let's do this!" Joey declared. "Fine with me, but how about we duel for two locator cards?" Weevil replied. "But that means if Joey loses, he's out of the tournament." Tea realized. "You wouldn't accept if you didn't have two, would you?" Weevil asked. "Oh, I've got em, alright." Joey responded. "Yugi squashed you the first time you squared off with him at Duelist Kingdom and took your title of Regional Champion, now I guess it's my turn to do the same." he continued. "How many locator cards do you have?" he asked. "I've got two." Weevil responded. "Then once I step on you, I'll have double what I already have. Not only that, I'll have your rarest card and I'll have the satisfaction of kicking your lousy butt out of this tournament just like Yugi did in the last one!" Joey declared.
Soon, Joey's Duel Disk was activated and his life points were set to 4000, as were Weevil's. And so, with their hands drawn and a confident 'It's time to duel!' from both players, the game was on. "First, I'll summon the Swordsman of Landstar in attack mode!" Joey said as his first monster appeared. "Now I'll set this little number down for later." he added as he set a card. "Take your best shot." he concluded daringly. "Your swordsman looks like he just popped out of toy box!" Weevil said, mockingly. "This toy can slice and dice any bug you throw at it!" Joey retorted. "Is that so? Well, that won't be the case as I play Flying Kamikiri #1!" Weevil declared as his first monster, a level four, Wind attribute, insect/effect monster with 1400 attack points and 900 defense points, appeared.
"Now, my flying friend, attack! Crush his mini monster!" he commanded. "Nice try. Watch this. I activate the Shield & Sword magic card!" Joey said as he revealed his facedown. "It swaps the attack and defense points of both our monsters, making my swordsman's attack strength a cut above your bug!" he explained as the Swordsman of Landstar counterattacked and sliced the Flying Kamikiri to pieces, lowering Weevil's life points to 3700. But Weevil chuckled. "Nice try, but when Flying Kamikiri #1 is sent to the graveyard, it automatically summons a wind monster with 1500 attack points or less to the field, and I choose the dreaded Flying Kamikiri #2!" the former Regional Champion declared as his next monster, a level four, Wind attribute insect with 1500 attack points and 800 defense points, appeared.
Meanwhile, at the Yonezato Hospital, Kenta was searching for Joey. "Serenity, your brother's name is Joey, right?" he asked. "That's right." Serenity responded. "Oh, man. Looks like he's dueling with the former Regional Champion, Weevil Underwood." Kenta said, worried. "Hey, don't sound so worried. My brother came in second place at the Duelist Kingdom tournament." Serenity said, confidently. "He did?" Kenta asked. "I know Joey will beat this guy, because he told me Yugi, the world champion, beat him once before." Serenity responded. Back at the battlefield, the effect of Shield and Sword ended.
"You know that your swordsman is no match for my winged warrior, so give it up, Wheeler!" Weevil taunted as Joey drew his next card. 'Awesome! It's Jinzo, the card I won from Espa Roba yesterday! Now I just need to get him on the field.' he thought. "Better hurry with your move, Wheeler. My Flying Kamikiri is getting hungry, and its feeding time!" Weevil said. "As if." Tea said on the sidelines. "No sweat. I'll just sacrifice my swordsman to put Jinzo on the field!" Joey said at last as his newest monster took the field. "Jinzo, smash that Kamikiri like a bug on a windshield!" he commanded as Jinzo used his powerful mind to destroy the massive insect and lower Weevil's life points to 2800.
"That wasn't supposed to happen." Weevil said, slightly surprised at seeing Joey's new monster. "Time to eat dirt, you little grub!" Tristan said, confidently. "That little mealworm's gonna get squashed!" Tea declared. "This time I'll set a monster in defense mode." Weevil said as he made his move. 'Just try to attack this.' he thought. "You set em up, and I'll knock em down! Jinzo, attack!" Joey declared as Jinzo fired some energy from his eyes. The attack landed, but the targeted monster, a level two, Dark attribute fiend/effect monster with 300 attack points and 800 defense points, suddenly leaped forward and latched itself around Jinzo. "What's that?!" Joey asked. "That's my flying leech, Kiseitai." Weevil answered.
"It attaches itself to the first monster that attacks it, then it'll increase my life points by half of your monster's attack points every time its your turn. So as long as my leech continues to feed, my life points will keep growing!" he explained. "That's not good." Joey said, meekly. "Not to mention its totally disgusting!" Tea added. "I agree, Tea darling." said a familiar voice. Tea turned around and saw Rarity and Spike had shown up. "Hey, Rarity, Spike. What are you two doing here?" Tristan asked. "We heard the sounds of a duel while on patrol and came to check it out." Spike explained. "But we weren't expecting to see Joey dueling against Weevil." Rarity added as Kiseitai reached itself into Jinzo's brain.
"And this is just the beginning of what I have planned for you. You have a lot to learn about the insect world, and I'm just the Duelist to teach you, Wheeler. Now I'll set another monster in defense mode." Weevil continued. "I'll take care of that." Joey said as he drew. "And I'll take some life points, thanks to my leech friend." Weevil declared as his life points increased back to 4000, thanks to Kiseitai. "Jinzo may have a leech attached to him, but he can still use his Cyber Attack!" Joey pointed out as Jinzo attacked and destroyed Weevil's facedown monster, a level four, Earth attribute insect/effect monster with 500 attack points and 1500 defense points known as the Skull-Mark Ladybug.
However, it only jumped Weevil's life points to 5000. "You're too kind. Guess you didn't know the Skull-Mark Ladybug can increase your life points by 1000 if he's ever destroyed." the former Regional Champion said, smugly. "Didn't I tell you you had a lot to learn?" he asked. "Insect cards can carry many surprises. Looks like Joey will have to expect the unexpected in this duel." Sol said. "If Yugi exterminated him at Duelist Kingdom, Joey should be able to do the same." Rarity stated as Weevil drew his next card. "I'll set another monster in defense mode." he said. "And since its your turn again, more life points, please." he added as his life points increased to 6200. "With your leech feeding on your monster, my life points will continue to grow, making me nigh indestructible! Prepare to say goodbye to the Battle City tournament, Wheeler!" he declared.
At Yonezato Hospital, Kenta continued to watch on and Serenity listened in. "How's Joey doing now?" she asked. "Well, it looks like he's in kind of a tough spot. Weevil managed to increase his life points to 6200, but don't get me wrong, he's playing really well. But this Underwood guy keeps turning things around." Kenta answered. "I know my brother can handle whatever his opponent tries to do." Serenity said, confidently. "How do you know?" Kenta asked. "My brother won't let anything stop him. He's been in tough situations, but he always comes through and makes me proud." Serenity explained. "I hope you're right, because the stakes are that both players put up two locator cards, which is all they have. So if Joey loses both locator cards, he's out of the tournament." Kenta said, worried. "There's only one thing my brother needs to do right now, and that's believe in himself." Serenity stated.
"Here goes nothing." Joey said as he drew. 'Ah, this'll help.' he thought. "It's time to burn off that leech of yours. Bug boy, meet Panther Warrior!" he declared as his next monster appeared. "He requires a sacrifice in order to attack, so I'll sacrifice my Jinzo and get rid of your leech!" he explained as both Jinzo and Kiseitai were destroyed. "Now, Panther Warrior, attack!" he commanded as his beast destroyed the set monster, a level four, Earth attribute insect/effect monster with 1000 attack points and 1200 defense points called Pinch Hopper.
"Finally, Joey got rid of that bloodsucking parasite!" Rarity declared. "That'll keep Weevil's life points from increasing any further." Sol added. "Okay, Wheeler, enough playing around! Up until this point, I've been going easy on you. But you're starting to bug me, so the time has come to unleash the fury of my ultimate destroyer! By destroying my previous monster, Pinch Hopper, it allows me to summon another insect from my hand. And I choose the Petit Moth!" Weevil declared as his next monster, a level one, Earth attribute insect with 300 attack points and 200 defense points, appeared on the field. "Wait, it sorta looks like the bug you used against Yugi!" Joey said in shock. "I see your memory's better than your dueling, Wheeler. And the reason it looks similar is because they're related. You see, Industrial Illusions recently released a new rule for using my next card, that being you could use either the Larvae Moth or Petit Moth to use it. And speaking of which, I'll wrap my tiny little larvae in the all-powerful Cocoon of Evolution!" Weevil stated as his cocoon appeared and encased the Petit Moth, raising its defense points to 2000 and dropping its attack power to 0.
"Over the next six turns, as per the new rule of my forthcoming monster, the cocoon of evolution will transform my mere Petit Moth, into a huge beast known as the Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth!" Weevil explained. At Yonezato, Kenta saw what was happening. "Uh oh. This is bad. Your brother might be in some serious trouble. Weevil's planning to summon one of the most powerful insect monster in all of Duel Monsters." he said, worried. "I'm sure that Joey can handle it." Serenity said, calmly. "Well, if he's really as good as you say he is, now's the time for him to prove it." Kenta responded.
Back on the battlefield, Joey's six turn countdown started. "Six more turns, Wheeler. Then my Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth will emerge and turn you into bug chow!" Weevil warned. "Well, I'm gonna pop that pupae!" Joey retorted. "I don't think so, Wheeler. My next card will crush any chance of that happening. You see, there's a parasite living inside your deck." Weevil stated. "What are you talking about?" Joey asked, confused. "You heard me. A parasite, an insect that lives off of other animals, so I play Reckless Parasite, which will bring the parasite in your deck out onto the field!" Weevil responded as he activated said card.
"You got to be outta your mind. My deck doesn't have any insect cards." Joey said, but he was soon proven wrong when his Duel Disk started glowing and the parasite appeared on his side of the field. "You were saying? Looks like you had a Parasite Paracide card in your deck and my magic card activated it. Now every monster you put on the field will be infected!" Weevil retorted as the the Parasite Paracide, a level two, Earth attribute insect/flip/effect monster with 500 attack points and 300 defense points started to infect Panther Warrior.
"That's so gross!" Spike shouted in disgust. "That little germ pulled a fast one on you, Joey!" Tristan called. "I know! But how did that Parasite Paracide card get in my deck anyway?!" Joey responded before he realized something. "Wait a second! That kid that took my Duel Disk must've really been working for Weevil! He must've slipped it in my deck!" he said as he remembered the chase. "A great duelist must prepare for an encounter long before it takes place." Weevil stated. "But that's against the rules!" Rarity shouted. "Rarity's 100% right on this one, you dirty cheater!" Spike concurred. "Cheater? Me? It's not my fault Joey didn't think to examine his deck to see if one of his cards was missing, or if a card didn't belong, before challenging me to a duel." Weevil responded.
"No need to rub it in, I get it." Joey said, annoyed. "And while your Panther Warrior is being infected, my Great Moth will be growing. So I'll place one card face down, and end my turn." Weevil concluded. "It's true my Panther Warrior may be infected with a parasite, but that doesn't mean he can't attack. So once I sacrifice another monster, I'll sic him on you, bug breath." Joey stated, but Weevil just wagged his finger. "Remember, every monster you play becomes infected by the Parasite Paracide. So therefore, you can't sacrifice any monster you have. Which means your pathetic Panther Warrior can't attack!" Weevil stated.
"Well, infection or no infection, I summon Little Winguard in attack mode!" Joey declared as his next monster, a level four, Wind attribute warrior/effect monster with 1400 attack points and 1800 defense points, appeared on the field before he, too, got infected by the parasite. "Now another one of your monsters is infected and my Great Moth is still maturing!" Weevil declared. "You must not have realized that your Cocoon of Evolution has 0 attack points, and you left it in attack mode." Joey pointed out. "Attack mode? Wait! I forgot to switch my Cocoon into defense mode!" Weevil said in shock as he realized he may have goofed.
"That's right. And with 0 attack points, it's just a sitting duck! Little Winguard, attack!" Joey confirmed. But Weevil's look of shock turned to a smirk as he revealed his facedown. "So you think. This magic card I have will save me. I activate, Insect Barrier!" the former Regional Champion declared as his card activated and Little Winguard was stopped in its tracks. "This card will protect me from all enemy attacks, but only if the attacking monster is an insect. And since every monster in your deck becomes part insect thanks to that Parasite Paracide, my barrier will protect me from any and all of your monsters!" he explained.
"Now I can't even attack!" Joey said in shock. "Come on, Joey! You got to find a way out of this and kick Weevil's slimy butt out of the tournament!" Tristan called. "Joey, remember to stay calm and believe in your deck! There may be a way for you to use Weevil's own tactics against him!" Sol declared. "You're right, gramps. So for now I'll set this card face down and end my turn." Joey concurred as he set said card. "I'm afraid it's hopeless. Once my Great Moth emerges and awakens in just five more turns, it will completely annihilate you, Wheeler!" Weevil stated, confidently.
At Yonezato Hospital, Serenity was still keeping tabs on Joey. "What's happening with my big brother?" she asked. "Well, his deck is still infected by that Parasite Paracide card." Kenta explained. "What about that gross-sounding moth monster Weevil has growing in that cocoon of his?" Serenity asked. "It says here that Joey still has five turns to go before it hatches." Kenta responded. "That's good." Serenity said. "But when it does hatch..." Kenta began to say. "Yeah? Go on." Serenity urged. "It'll take a miracle to keep him from losing." Kenta continued. "Come on, Joey." Serenity said, hoping for her big brother to win.
"Remember, Wheeler, thanks to my barrier, none of your monsters can attack me. And while I wait for my Great Moth to hatch, I'll start weakening your life points." Weevil said as he drew. 'I know I can take this guy, but first I got to build up a defense to protect my life points. I already have a facedown, both of which I've never used before, and then maybe, like Yugi's grandpa said, I can use that parasite to help me.' Joey thought. "Now I summon Leghul!" Weevil declared as his next monster, a level one, Earth attribute insect/effect monster with 300 attack points and 350 defense points, appeared.
"This slimy creature has the special ability to attack my opponent directly. So, Leghul, attack him!" he continued before the creepy, crawly beast landed a blow, lowering Joey's life points to 3700. "That thing can bypass my monsters?" Joey asked. "That's right. And that means, now your life points are easy pickings because you can't attack me, while I can attack you! Care to throw in the towel yet?" Weevil responded. "Not a chance. I switch my monsters into defense mode." Joey responded upon drawing. "How sad. You know what happens in just four more turns. My ultimate insect will be born!" Weevil stated upon drawing. "But as for now, Leghul, attack his life points directly!" he commanded before Leghul dropped Joey's life points down to 3400.
At Yonezato Hospital, Serenity was keeping the faith and cheering his brother on. "You can do it, Joey." she said, hopeful. "Three turns, and you still can't attack." Weevil said proud before he sic'd Leghul on Joey once more, dropping his life points to 3100. "Looks like I have to pass again." Joey said. "You're down to your final two turns, Wheeler. I promise you this; my Ultimate Great Moth is like nothing you've faced before or will ever face again!" Weevil stated. "I think we get what you're saying, Weevil!" Tristan said, annoyed. "Stay cool, Tristan." Joey said to his friend before getting flashbacks to the start of the tournament.
'This is just like when Yugi dueled Seeker. I was freaking out because I knew what would've happened if Seeker summoned out Exodia, but Yugi showed me that when even the odds are against you, a true Duelist keeps his cool and trusts his deck as well as himself. So this game isn't over yet, Weevil. I still have some preparing to do before your moth hatches.' he thought before drawing. "Well, all I can do this turn is activate this little baby. I activate Secret Barrel! This card inflicts 200 points of damage to your life points for every card in your hand. And since you have three, that equals 600 points of damage!" he declared before a keg of dynamite landed right in front of Weevil and exploded, dropping his life points from 6200 to 5600.
"Not bad, but if that's the best you can do, it's not good enough. You still have one turn left." the former Regional Champion stated before drawing. "I'll pass this turn." he concluded before Joey drew his next card without a word. "I summon Alligator's Sword in defense mode." Joey said before his gator appeared and was instantly infected. "And I'll set a facedown to end my move." he concluded. "Now your gator's become part insect." Weevil pointed out. "I know. Well, guess that was my final turn. So bring on this big moth of yours." Joey responded.
"We're about to see just how ready you are, because, like you said, time's up. Ultimate Great Moth, erupt from your cocoon and reveal your supreme power!" Weevil declared before the Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth, a level eight, Earth attribute insect/effect monster with 3500 attack points and 3000 defense points, emerged from the cocoon and took to the air. "That's the biggest moth I've ever seen!" Rarity said in shock. 'Where's Godzilla when you need him?' Spike thought, obviously comparing the Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth to one of Godzilla's only allies, Mothra.
"Behold, the insect embodiment of your final destruction! It's all over for you, Wheeler!" Weevil declared with a laugh as the Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth hovered before the spectators and Joey.
