Summer Camp Notes
All medications must be given to the medical officer with written instructions. We carry a variety of over the counter medications, skin ointments, and bandages. A list is available upon request.
Scouts in the Mountain Man program will be swimming everyday. They may want to bring an extra towel. Quick drying towels are available at camping equipment stores.
Class A uniforms will be worn to camp and at evening meals. The uniform consists of: BSA short sleeve shirt with proper insignia and red epaulets, BSA uniform (olive) shorts or long pants, BSA belt with official buckle, BSA socks, and hiking boots/shoes.
Sturdy, well broken in boots or shoes are important. There is a lot of walking. Please make sure toe nails are clipped prior to camp.
Packing one days clothing (shorts, tee shirt, socks, underwear) together in a one gallon size zip lock with the air squeezed out will save space and help younger scouts know what to wear each day. They shouldn't need to change shorts every day.
Mark uniform items with a laundry pen so they get back to the right person if we have to wash them. Hats, handbooks, backpacks, etc. should also be marked with name and troop number. Personal items usually get mixed together in the tents.
There is a scout store and snack bar at the camp. Scouts may want spending money.
Do not bring snack foods, electronic devises, cell phones, or high value items. The adults have cell phones if the boys need to call. Letting new guys have their own phone leads to homesickness.
Please ask if you have any questions.

2 Required for scouts in mountain man program
3 Required for swimming merit badge (mountain man program) and lifesaving merit badge. Nylon pants and shirt work best. Long pants are required for mountain boarding.
