Somewhere in the Land of Fiore

A man was walking through the lush and dense forests of Fiore. This man had spiky black hair and dark blue eyes. He wore a white, short-sleeved jacket with a black undershirt underneath with black pants and boots and he wore a silver necklace in the shape of a sword. This man was Gray Fullbuster. Gray Fullbuster is a wizard of Fairy Tail, a magic guild. Gray specialized in ice magic, more commonly known as his ice maker magic, and was a very powerful wizard among his peers. He had just finished completing an A-rank mission and was on his way back to the Fairy Tail Guild.

"Man, I know that was an A-rank mission, but why was dealing with that monster such a pain in the ass? Ugh, I'm ready to just go home and take a nap, I sure don't want to deal with any of Natsu's or any of the guild's nonsense today." sighed a tired Gray as he walked home, tired and irritated from his mission.

As Gray walked, he thought of everyone in the guild and thought about how loud and annoying they would be. Though, while thinking about everyone, he randomly thought of a certain blue haired girl who was madly obsessed with him. He blushed a bit before shaking his head and sighing.

"What could have possibly made me think about her of all people? Then again...she isn't as bad as Natsu." Gray spoke to himself quietly before smiling a bit. While Gray truly did appreciate Juvia, he wasn't sure if he was ready to confess his true feelings to her. Then again, time won't wait for just anyone.

While Gray continued walking, his mind drifted from thoughts of his guild to the thoughts of someone else who was dear to him. This would be his master, Ur. Ur was a woman with short, dark purple hair and black eyes. She was the person who taught Gray how to use his ice maker magic. She died to the demon, Deliora, by using a special technique that would take her life along with sealing Deliora away. She was special to Gray.

"Ur..." Gray muttered. Ur still held a special place in Gray's heart many years later.

However, in his mind, it seemed as if Ur was trying to tell him something. He couldn't hear anything but..it looked like...Ur was trying to warn him about something.

As Gray was lost in his thoughts, he was able to read Ur's lips which mouthed "Open your eyes, Gray." Just as she mouthed these words, Gray stopped his thoughts and opened his eyes to which he became face to face with a bright blue light. Gray backed up, a bit startled by the light, but then he found himself oddly familiar with the light.

"...Ur..?" Gray said as his voiced cracked a bit.

As soon as Gray had uttered her name from his mouth, the light soon flew around Gray and flown off while also leaving a trail for him to find. This stunned Gray a bit before he gathered his emotions and thoughts and headed off after the light.

"Hey, Ur! Hold it!" Gray called out after the light, running after it.

Gray watches as the light goes into a bush and he hightails after it. Gray enters the bush and tries to follow the light, pushing the green out of his face before coming into a clearing. He jumps out of the bush and stumbles upon an area totally new to him.

"What the...?" Gray says in confusion and disbelief.

This was a new sight for Gray. Gray had been through the forests of Fiore more times than he can count, so to say that he had a pretty good understanding of the terrain and the general area was an understatement. In fact, he probably knew the whole forests like the back of his head, not as good as Natsu, but he definitely knew what significant landmarks were where..and yet, he stumbled across an area that was entirely new to him. It looked as though it was some type of ancient civilization that had been abandoned. Gray hopped down into the area to investigate it.

"Why would Ur bring me to some place like this..? How could she have known this...existed?" Gray thought to himself as he walked through the areas within the supposed ancient cities, or, more like ruins these days. As Gray looked around, he noticed that he was not totally alone after all. As light shone down onto the architectural pieces of these ruins, many woodland creatures seem to have taken some shelter here while others seem to come to forage for food. Gray noticed that some of these ruins looked extremely ancient, so ancient in fact that he did not recognize any of the architectural style nor did he recognize the type of builds that were left behind. Just as Gray's thoughts were still all over the place, he came across a woodland creature that was trying to pull out something under a pile of rubble but failing.

"Hey little buddy, need some help with that?" Gray asked the small woodland creature.

The creature, seemingly able to understand Gray, lit up with joy and stepped back to let Gray help.

"Now then.." Gray said as he held one of his hands out and made a fist with his other hand and placed it on top of his palm.

"Ice-Make: Hammer!" Gray chants as he creates a giant hammer made of ice that slammed down on the pile of rubble, totally decimating it. As Gray smirked and looked down at the creature, he could see that one of the pieces of rubbles flew off and nailed it right in the head, causing it to cry.

"O-oh, uh..crap, there there." Gray said in a panicked state as he tried to calm the woodland creature down. He then found the object it was trying to get and handed it to the creature.

"Uh, here! This is what you wanted right?" Gray said as he handed what seemed to be a mask to the woodland creature. The creature went from crying to smiling happily in an instant as it took the mask and walked off happily.

Before handing it to the creature, Gray thought the mask looked a bit familiar. The mask felt as though it was made of some type of stone and there was nothing else that was left of it, just that mask. The part that he found the most interesting was the fact that the mask was in the shape of an exceed. He drew comparison in his mind to how the mask resembled Happy, Carla, and even Pantherlily to a strong degree. After drawing that comparison, Gray looked down and found a weird looking item on the ground. Gray picked up what seemed to be a cog that was under the same spot where the mask was. As Gray picked up the cog like object, he noticed that the rubble he destroyed was blocking off the entrance to somewhere. Gray took a step back and noticed that the rubble was blocking the entrance into one of the ancient buildings which resembled that of a palace. Gray decided to step inside and look around. Gray didn't see much around, just vines, mold, and more ancient patterns he didn't recognize in the slightest. Gray then looked ahead where he saw a structure that seemed to look like a...chair? It was a bit broken as the top seemed to be separated from the bottom and it was covered form head to toe in vines and moss. Gray's curiosity got the better of him and went to get a close look. The chair was much bigger than gray expected as he had to climb up onto what seemed to be the actual seating part of the chair.

"Huh, I wonder who sat in these chairs, Giants?" Gray jokingly said to himself as he inspected the structure further.

There wasn't much to observe about the structure other than the fact that there was a little opening on the bottom in which a cog shaped hole sat. Gray looked down at the cog in his hands and looked at the hole.

"I wonder..." Gray said to himself as he decided to slip the cog into the hole to see what would happen. The cog fit in perfectly and as Gray stepped back, the machine started to glow a bright red.

"What the?!" Gray exclaimed as he watched as the lines and the cog on the machine seemed to have turned on as they started to glow red. Gray then looks to the top where he sees the circular opening began to generate a bright spherical red light. Gray then felt his body become light. He looked down and saw his hands start to glow. Before Gray could even process what was happening...he disappeared.

In an unknown area

We see a structure similar to the one found in the ancient city. The structure similarly glows red but this time, Gray appears as he seemingly teleports from this structure.

"Well, that was weird...where the heck am I anyway?" Gray said as he looked around the new area. He was unfamiliar with this area. He was standing on top of some rocky terrain, but it was way too dark out to see anything. He could hear thunder boom throughout the area and could see lightning make appearance throughout the looming clouds that covered the sky. As Gray figured out where he was and how to get back home, he suddenly felt the ground rumble and saw red lightning generate from the ground. Gray got into a battle stance, ready for anything.

As the lightning continued to run through the ground, it started to connect and branch off into different bolts of lightning which soon seemed to be forming some type of new entity. As the lightning dissipated, Gray could make out what the black figures were as the red light shone from their heads. Gray looked around and saw a multitude of white robots with triangular faces circling him.

"Hm, an ambush, huh?" Gray said as he readied his magic

"Your funeral."

As Gray uttered those last words, one of the robots charged at him. Gray took his hands and coated it with eyes before sending a right hook right at the robot's face, completely demolishing and sending it out of commission. Gray then completely ran through a number of white robots, taking them out and totally destroying them with ease thanks to his ice magic. He then stumbles upon a group of them that we're facing away from a cliff. Gray takes this chance to finish them all off.

"Ice-Make: Saucer!" Gray shouts as he creates an ice saucer which he aims at the ground between him and the robots, cutting it in half and sending them falling to their doom. As they all fall, one manages to jump off and land on the piece of land that was in tact while trying to maintain its balance but Gray chucked a pebble at it with low effort, sending it to the ground with its other friends.

While Gray completely took care of those robots, he was starting to get agitated and tired.

"Alright...whoever is doing this better show themselves right now! You're dealing with a member of Fairy Tail, ya hear?!" Gray exclaimed, trying to scare whoever was behind the attack into coming out

"We'll settle this and if I win, you take me back home and I turn you in!" Gray says as he punches his fist into his palm, similar to like how Natsu would, ready to engage in round 2.

Just then, as Gray was readying to make another statement...

"Huh...?" Gray turned around, only to be met with a colossal robot, one that dwarfed the others as well as Gray by a large margin. It had a spherical rim for a head and two large and wavy arms that could cover a big margin of the area. As Gray stared up in shock at the large robot, he also noticed that there was another figure that was floating next to the giant robot. Red lightning covered the sky and made its presence well known which made it harder for Gray to identify it. As Gray looked closer, he couldn't totally make it out but it looked to be that of a little girl. She seemed to have short hair and some type of red lining that covered her body from head to toe. What he found most notable was the cold, red eye that stared down at him, piercing his soul. And that was the last thing Gray saw, as what he saw next, blinded him...

In another unknown area

Gray opened his eyes and felt extremely different. His body was not what it once felt like. As he opened his eyes fully, he realized that his initial assessment was correct. As he looked down at his hands, they looked off. He didn't seem whole. He felt empty and not fully there. He then looked up and saw that he was trapped. He couldn't escape. He started to lose it.

"ARRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHH!!!" Gray screamed out and covered his head as he remained trapped in the red orb that seemed to reside on some unknown desert region...

Yea, my guild may be filled with a bunch of goofballs that can get on my nerves sometimes. Honestly, sometimes I just wish I could do more things in my life alone without having to deal with more irritating people like Natsu...but sometimes...

A/N: Hello everyone. Yes, I'm doing another story. Yes, it's another Fairytail/Sonic one, but it's different. While this is a crossover story, it won't include any Sonic characters besides the obvious(No Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, etc.) I thought it would be a fun idea to see how it would be if the events of Sonic Frontiers took place but the Fairy Tail gang, more specifically Team Natsu, were in the shoes of Sonic and his friends. I will work on my other stories soon enough but I do want to focus on this in the meantime as I already have a certain idea on how I want to go about and finish it. Also, where this takes place in the timeline of Fairy Tail, just assume sometime between the end of the og series and the beginning of 100 YQ. Oh, and if certain parts of the story don't match up with the Fairy Tail canon(settings, Gray and Ur, Gray and Juvia, etc) please let me know! I caught up on Fairy Tail but it's been a while since I rewatched the anime so my memory is a bit shaky. Anyway, Stay tuned!
