The point was, why was he texting her?

"It was just the regular texts... Like just the old friends catching up..." he said, "Then I came here for Mom-Dad's anniversary, and that's when she asked me if we should give our relationship another chance."

"Are you kidding me right now? So this has been going on for a year?" I asked with disbelief.

"No... It's not been 'going on' for a year! When she told me that, I just laughed her off! I told her that I'm in a relationship, and I was not interested in giving it another chance. My family... Of course, they tried to interfere and said maybe I should think about it," he gritted his teeth.
