She bent her legs into her chest, putting a blanket over herself before reaching beside her to pick up the warm glass of hot chocolate. She sat under an umbrella outside as it begun to snow. Little snowflakes coming down from the clouds in slow motion, making the whole sight magical in a way. Seeing snowflakes fall for miles out over the ocean. It was a sight she hadn't seen in a few years. The sound of flip flops briefly pulled her away from the magic of it all as Luffy walked out and sat beside her under the umbrella. He took the jacket he was carrying and put it over her shoulders.
"Thank you."
She spoke softly, he only smiled in response and covered his legs with a blanket he brought. He leaned back, relaxing as he stared out onto the deck, the surface grass beginning to be covered in snowflakes, making a layer of snow over it all. The faint sound of wind, along with the quiet yet muffled playing of Brooks violin from inside. He let out a sigh of relief, leaning back to lay on the ground beside her. She made a soft chuckle as he closed his eyes, gently putting his hat over her head. She scooted closer, sitting hip to hip beside him. She could stare in awe; as cold as it got she could only feel warmth from the sight. It made her heart remember her younger years.
When it snowed on their island her and her sister would go outside and play, building a snowman, and their mother, walking out with coal for the eyes and mouth, and a baby carrot for the nose, not that it ever fit. They would steal Genzo's hat and put it atop the snowman's head. The small pinwheel spinning with the gentle breeze barely felt through the already cold air. Later they would cuddle by the fire, falling asleep after drinking warm glasses of milk. Their mother would sing them a lullaby, it was so cozy back then.
She was brought back to reality as she felt his arm go over her shoulders. She looked over seeing him sat up beside her. A faint blush on her cheeks grew, and in a moment of emotional vulnerability cuddled against him. She half expected a weird response but gone none, feeling him rub her shoulder comfortingly. She put her arm around his back wanting the same closeness. He chuckled at the feeling, she had touch a ticklish spot on his side. She had felt so warm in that moment, tilting her head to rest on his shoulder as she nuzzled into the crook of his neck.
He looked down at her hand and saw the glass of hot chocolate nearly begin to spill before he carefully took it from her hands. He heard her quiet snores, soft like a sleeping infant he giggled soundlessly. Taking a sip of the hot chocolate before setting it down beside him. Staring up at the cloudy sky where the flakes fell from, he smiled seeing a brief glimpse of the sun poke through the clouds for just a moment. He lowered his hand from her shoulder to her hip, giving it a gentle rub before pulling her body closer. He slowly laid them both back, resting his head on the soft grass as she used his rubber shoulder as a pillow. He quickly adjusted his blanket to go over her, and for hers to go over that one, leaving their legs touching, feeling it get much warmer under the blankets.
He started feeling it too, he yawned and closed his eyes. Imagining his grampa gently running his fingers through his hair, imagining Ace and Sabo struggling to start a fire due to the wood being a bit damp, imagining Dadan having a full course meal of meats, with everyone of them eating together.
The two fell asleep beside each other under the umbrella. Robin walked out and sat close by in her coat, waiting for it to get colder before carefully carrying them inside to a nice comfy bed. She left then be and closed the door behind her.
