Chapter 2: Fusion vs Pendulum

Sorry about that mix-up with my other stories so I decided to write a new chapter as an apology. It won't be much but a quick duel between Yuya and Jaden.

At Yu Show Shuzo Hiragi is teaching the class about the battle phase.

"When you attack a monster and deal damage to your opponent and the damage calculation is the attacking monster's ATK points subtracted from the destroyed monsters or a direct attack which is when you attack your opponent when they don't have any monsters on their field and they take damage equal to the attacking monsters ATK points."

The young students, Futoshi, Ayu, and Tatsuya, who was the only kid that day who came because he believed in Yu Shows teachings rather than getting Pendulum cards, were all excited learning about this while the four who are looking out envied these kids that are so full of excitement and innocence.

"These kids don't have to worry about the world ending or having to save their friends souls it reminds me of when I was first playing Duel Monsters with Joey in school." Said Yugi.

"Let's hope it stays that way and they never have to deal with any of that and can just stay kids." Said Yusei.

Hearing this causes Yuma to look down on the floor with a sad expression that the others notice.

"Are you okay Yuma?" Ray asks.

"Well, when you mentioned about these kids never having to worry about anything it made me think about the survivors in Heartland, some of them might be kids who lost their homes or families. I just whish we were there so we can help them." Said Yuma.

This is where Jaden gets an idea. "I know what will cheer you up." Jaden walks into the classroom now that Shuzo's lesson was over. "I was thinking since you hired us to teach the kids Fusion, XYZ and Synchro I was thinking of demonstrating it with a duel, so I thought why not Fusion vs. Pendulum."

"Really that would be a great way to demonstrate both our methods. Can we please do it principle?" asked Yuya. To which he agreed.

Shuzo presses a button and activates the field spell for the action duel. "Our cardslingers will clash in the Wildest West."

The normal field transforms into what looks like the set of an old western Jaden even pricked his finger trying to see if the cactus was real.

They then both activate their duel disk.

Duel!

Yuya: 4000 LP, Hand: 5

Jaden: 4000 LP, Hand 5

"Ready Jaden. I'll get things started by summoning my PerformaPal Hip Hippo." (Level 3 ATK 800) "Why don't you and me kick it into high gear Hip Hippo." Yuya then rides his on his PerfomaPal ending his turn and grabs an Action Card in a window still.

Yuya Hand: 4

"My turn, draw. I summon Elemental Hero Burstinatrix." (Level 3 ATK 1200) "I then cast HERO's Bond, I'm now able to summon 2 more Elemental Hero's as long as they are level four or lower. I summon Elemental Hero Sparkman (Level 4 ATK 1600) and Elemental Hero Heat. (Level 4 ATK 1600). Heat gains 200 ATK points for every Elemental Hero on the field." Elemental Hero Heat (Level 4 ATK 1600 + 600 = 2200).

"Wow Jaden already has three monsters on the field on his first turn." Said Yuzu.

"Those monsters are incredible they look like superheroes." Said Tatsuya.

"I wonder why Jaden didn't Fusion Summon." Said Futoshi.

"Fusion summoning normally requires a spell card to use." Said Yugi.

Ray is also watching the duel with great focus hoping to see what the champions she and Atem have chosen can defeat one of Zarc's fragments.

"Attack Elemental Hero Burstinatrix!" ordered Jaden as the female Elemental Hero fires two fireballs from her hands.

"I activate the Action Spell Evasion meaning my Hippo stays clear of those fireballs." Said Yuya as his Hippos jumps and dodges Burstinatrix's attack.

"That's what I wanted you to do, attack Heat." Elemental Hero Heat's fist catches fire and he punches Hip but Yuya grabs the action card on the Cactus.

"I'm activating the Action Spell Cactus wall." Said Yuya as Elemental Hero Heat punches a cactus instead of Yuya's monster. Causing his ATK points to be caught in half. "This action spell causes a monster to lose half of its attack points."
Elemental Hero Heat (Level 4 ATK 1200).

"You forgot about Sparkman, Attack." Sparkman generates electricity that blast Hip Hippo finally destroying him.

Yuya LP: 4000 – 800 = 3200

"I end my turn." Said Jaden.

Jaden Hand: 2

"Guess since its your turn I better start looking for action cards myself." Said Jaden who gets picked up by Elemental Hero Heat bridal style as they fly off.

"Kinda makes him look like a damsel in distress getting saved by the hero." Said Yuzu.

"My turn, draw. I'll use Stargazer Magician and Timegazer Magician to set the Pendulum Scale. I'm taking control of this duel staring now!" Yuya sets the Pendulum Scale.

"Here we go." Said Futoshi.

"He's gonna Pendulum summon!" said Tatsuya.

"Swing far Pendulum. Carve the arc of victory!" seeing the Pendulum necklace swing around the two cards in the Pendulum scale amazes everyone even Yuma can't help but smile in amazement. "My monsters are ready to swing into action!" three monsters are summoned out of a hole shaped void formed Yuya's Pendulum swinging.

"H-2-Go, Skeeter Skimmer. (Level 4 ATK 500) slice and dice, PerformaPal Sword Fish. (Level 2 ATK 600) and it's time to turn up the heat, Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!" (Level 7 ATK 2500)

"I guess we'll have to see if Jaden can defeat one of Zarc's beloved dragons." Said Ray who has silently been watching this entire time although only four humans can see or hear her.

"Amazing Yuya." Said Jaden.

"You haven't seen anything, thanks to my PerforaPal's effect once per turn can slice and dice one of your monsters by 600." Explained Yuya as clones of Sword Fish appear surrounding Heat (Level 4 ATK 1200 – 600 = 600).

"Odd-Eyes is about to extinguish Heat! Attack!"

"Activate the Action Spell Miracle, my monster is saved and I take half the damage." Said Jaden.

Jaden LP: 4000 – 950 = 3050

"I'll hand it off to you Jaden." Said Yuya.

Yuya Hand: 0

"My turn, draw. I cast Pot of Greed and draw 2 cards." Jaden does this and plans out his next move. "Time for what we've all been waiting for. Take notes kids for you see in order to Fusion summon you normally need a spell card, Polymerization is the most basic one and it doesn't matter if your monsters are in your hand or out on the field as long as you have the right Fusion Material that is listed on your Fusion Monster."

Ray explained to them already that in this universe people like to give special chants to their extra deck summons so Jaden puts his hand in a praying positon. "The wings of Avian and the flames of liberty courtesy of Burstinatrix creates a brand new Hero who dishes out justice equally. I Fusion summon Elemental Hero Flame Wingman."

Flame Wingman (Level 6 ATK 2100)

"Amazing he actually successfully Fusion summoned." Said Ayu.

"I hope you kids took notes because that move was hot-blooded!" said Shuzo.

"I definitely did I cant wait to try Fusion summoning myself." Said Tatsuya.

Yuzu just looks out the window. "Looks like its Fusion vs Pendulum, I wonder who will win."

"I'm changing the field, hope you don't mind. I activate the field spell Skyscraper." The field changes from the Wild West into a large bustling city that looks like something out of a comic book.

"Wow now it feels like a showdown between a superhero and a monster, I have the shivers." Said Futoshi to which they agree wondering what is going to happen next.

"Flame Wingman attack Odd-Eyes!" ordered Jaden.

"But Odd-Eyes has more ATK points." Yuya pointed out having a hard time to find Action cards now that the field has changed.

"Skyscraper's effect is that when and Elemental Hero attacks a monster it gains 1000 ATK points." Explained Jaden as Flame Wingman's arm that looks like a dragon's head blast a fireball destroying Odd-Eyes.

Flame Wingman (Level 6 ATK 2100 + 1000 = 3100)

Yuya LP: 3200 -600 = 2600.

"Forgot to mention, when Flame Wingman destroys a monster you take damage equal to that destroyed monsters ATK points.

Yuya LP: 2600 – 2500 = 100

"Now Elemental Hero Heat finish it off, attack Sword Fish!." Heat delivers another Firey punch destroying Sword Fish.

Elemental Hero Heat (Level 4 ATK 1200 + 1000 = 2200)

Yuya LP: 100 – 1600 = 0

The field turns back to normal as Yuya loses.

"That was amazing Jaden you guys really are Pro Duelist with the skills you have." Yuya says shaking his hand and everyone else came out with Yuma rushing in excitedly.

"That was amazing I can't believe you both did so well I was on the edge of my seats you guys really felt the flow!" said Yuma

"Just happy to have a good duel." Said Jaden.

"Fusion summoning is amazing Jaden I was wondering if you could help me try it sometimes." Said Yuzu.

"Although one thing I'm wondering, I know Yuma had a tutor and Yusei was self taught but if you never went to LDS then where'd you learn Fusion summoning?" asked Yuya.

"Well Fusion summoning is very common where I come from." Is all Jaden answers with.

"Really maybe we should visit sometime." Said Shuzo hoping to be able to teach his students Fusion Summoning and learn where powerful duelist like them got their skills.

"Anyway I think we should celebrate I heard from Shuzo that Yuya's mom is a good cook so lets all go for a bite." Said Yusei who has been quiet all day.

While everyone is walking off to eat at Yuya's Ray watches with joy knowing that Zarc's precious dragons can still be beaten.

"I told you we picked the right choices to fight Zarc." Said Atem.

"Well technically we only picked the three you met already but we only picked Yuma because our original choice already had a counterpart here so we went with Yuma." Ray pointed out.

"Maybe but we'll just have faith in these four that they can defeat Zarc, I know they can because they believe in their cards." Said Atem.

I know the chapter is short chapter but it was just meant to be a filler chapter since Sora doesn't join Yu Show so I just made the chapter Yuya vs Jaden, also Elemental Heroes are my favorite archetype in Yugioh. Sorry about the chapter mishap earlier and does anyone know how to delete reviews tell me. Also for anyone complaining Jaden defeated Yuya too easily might I remind you that at this point Yuya hasn't dueled anywhere near as powerful opponents as Jaden and won so yeah I think at this point Yuya wouldn't do well agaisnt any of them, also Yuya relies too much on Action Cards and Pendulum/monster effects which is something I'm going to fix later.
