I'm not Dead
"This is Domino City News, here with a shocking discovery. The Nazca Lines, one of Peru's most famous attractions, have begun to disappear. Experts are unsure of how this phenomenon came to be, but say that the most likely cause is vandalism. More on that later."
Blake got out of the car, using the same methods she used to free Velvet. She walked over, wondering how this was possible. He died years ago. But he was there, right in front of her. Adam Taurus was alive and standing there. Adam sees her shocked reaction and smiles. "Surprised? Why, Blake, you look like you've seen a ghost!"
She walks closer. "How? How is this possible?" Blake asks before noticing something on his arm; a mark like a man. She quickly realizes what it means, but refuses to believe it. Adam lifts his arm up, to let her see. "It's all thanks to this. This is a real mark, not like that hand-me-down you saw earlier. I'm now one of the Dark Signers, and that means…" He points his arm to her. "That I get to kill you for what you did to me!" Blake shakes her head, unable to accept this turn of events.
Adam whistles, and a duel runner appears in front of him out of a dark blob. He climbs aboard it and starts the bike up. "Let's have a lovely little turbo duel, just like the old times, eh?" Blake finds her own duel runner, towed on the back of one of the Security vehicles, and unlocks it. The two start riding along the streets of Neo Domino City as Speed World is activated on both of their duel disks.
"I'll go first. I draw!" Adam says. "I summon Infernity Beast in attack mode!" A vicious hell-hound appears (Level 3/1600). "I set a card and end my turn." Blake draws, wondering what's gotten into Adam (Adam 0-1, Blake 0-1). "If you control a monster and I don't, I can summon Fear Shield from my hand!" (Level 3/2000). "I then tribute it to summon Shadow Predator!" A large black panther appears (Level 5/2100). If I can destroy that beast with Shadow Predator, I can lock down one of Adam's monster zones while I control it. "Go, Shadow Predator! Night Prowl!" The panther starts charging towards the hell-hound.
"I activate my face-down, Depth Amulet! Until your 3rd end phase, I can discard a card to negate your attack!" Adam explains. The panther is stopped by a glowing amulet that pushes it back with its light. Blake is surprised to see that kind of card in Adam's deck. In the past, he usually tried to keep his hand as large as possible, to keep his options open. "I set two cards and end my turn."
"I draw!" (Adam 1-2, Blake 1-2). "I summon Infernity Archfiend!" A demonic man in extravagant clothing appears (Level 4/1800). "I end my turn." Blake is surprised that that was all he did, but since neither are stronger than Shadow Predator, it makes some sense. Blake draws again (Adam 2-3, Blake 2-3). "I summon Knight of Night in attack mode!" (Level 4/2000). "Shadow Predator, attack Infernity Beast!" "I discard a card so Depth Amulet can negate your attack." "Knight of Night, attack the same monster as well." As a cost, Blake banishes a card from her hand. "I will use Depth Amulet's effect again." Blake is unsure what Adam is planning with this, but assures herself that since she's ridding him of all his cards, the duel should be in her favor. "I end my turn."
Adam draws (Adam 3-4, Blake 3-4). "I tribute my Infernity Beast and Archfiend to summon the dark-tuner Nightmare Hand!" A tall, lanky man with over-sized hands appeared (Level 10/0).Not another one, Blake worried. "When I summon Nightmare Hand, I can bring along a level 2 or lower monster from my hand. Come on out, Infernity Dwarf." A small, stout man with an axe appears (Level 2/800). "I dark tune my Level 10 Nightmare Hand into my level 2 Infernity Dwarf! When the curtain of darkness descends down, the eyes of the underworld will open. Swoop down, darkness! Dark Synchro! Show yourself, One-Hundred Eyes Dragon!" A large, black dragon appears, with eyes all over it (Level -8/3000). "One-Hundred Eyes Dragon, attack Knight of Night! Infinity Sight Stream!" The eyes all over the dragon glow, before a beam appears out of each of them, all headed towards Knight of Night. Blake says "I activate my face-down-" "No, you won't. You see, One-Hundred Eyes Dragon gains the effects of all Dark monsters in my graveyard. That includes Infernity Beast. So now, when One-Hundred Eyes Dragon attacks while I have no cards in my hand, you can't activate any spells or traps!" The beams connect, obliterating Knight of Night (Blake 4000-3000). (Blake 4-3) "I'm not done. The effect gained from the Infernity Destroyer in my graveyard now activates. If I destroy your monster while I have no cards in my hand, you take 800 damage." Blake nearly loses control of her duel runner (Blake 3000-2200) "HAHAHAHA! The gaping maw of the underworld beckons you, Blake Belladonna! You will pay for your crimes! I end my turn!"
Blake draws (Adam 4-5, Blake 3-4). No wonder he has discarding all those cards. Not only was he trying to power up One-Hundred Eyes Dragon, but he needs his hand empty for his monster's effects. "I switch my Shadow Predator to defense mode." (300). "I set a monster face-down. I then activate my speed spell, Hiding Force. Until my next turn, you can't attack my face-down monsters. I end my turn." I just need to survive until next turn. Then I can turn this duel around. At this point, Depth Amulet is destroyed.
"Hiding, Blake? How like you to abandon those who need you! I draw!" Adam yells (Adam 5-6, Blake 4-5). "I set one card. One-Hundred Eyes Dragon, attack Shadow Predator!" The eyes on the dragon's body charge up. "One-Hundred Eyes Dragon gains the effect of Infernity Dwarf, which gives it the ability to deal piercing damage. You're over!" The beams find their target again, but as the smoke clears, Blake's life points remain untouched, and a Kuriboh appears in front of her. "I used my Kuriboh to prevent the battle damage." The Kuriboh disappears after waving at Blake. Adam grimaces. "You can't deny the past forever, Blake. You will burn in hell! The effect gained from Infernity Destroyer activates!" (Blake 2200-1400). "I end my turn."
"I draw." (Adam 6-7, Blake 5-6). "I flip summon Power Thief!" Blake's face-down reveals a small thief (Level 4/100). "Power Thief's flip effect activates, lowering you dragon's attack and defense to 0 for this turn." The thief stabs the eyes on One-Hundred Eyes Dragon, closing them shut (One-Hundred Eyes Dragon 3000-0). "I then summon Howling Dancer! (Level 4/1800). "I tune my level 4 Power Thief with my level 4 Howling Dancer! Shadows gather upon the midnight plain. Rise and command them to Victory! Synchro Summon! Appear, Gambol Shroud Dragon!" (Level 8/2500). "Gambol Shroud Dragon, attack One-Hundred Eyes Dragon with Mad Shadow Dance!" The black dragon scratches and destroys the eye-covered dragon (Adam 4000-1500). (Adam 7-5). Blake expected Adam's expression to change here, since she just beat his strongest monster, but his sadistic smile remained. "One-Hundred Eyes Dragon has one more effect, all of its own. When it's destroyed, I get to add one card to my hand." A card pops out of Adam's deck, and he picks it up. Blake feels something wrong with that card.
"I end my turn." "I draw!" (Adam 5-6, Blake 6-7). "I activate my face-down, Blood Offerings! By paying 1000 life points," (Adam 1500-500), "I can summon 2 blood tokens." Two red liquids appear (Level 1/0). "I then tribute those monsters to bring out one of the greatest monsters who ever lived!" The two liquids disappear, and a blackened heart appears. The heart starts pumping, and Blake notices several people in robes in the background. Some of them she recognizes from Satellite. What are they doing? One by one, the people start dropping dead, and lights flow from them into the heart in the sky. As all this is happening, a blue flame appears. But instead of a circle like last time, it forms a circuit that, when viewed overhead, takes the form of a man. "Rise from your five thousand year slumber, Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu!" The heart descends into the ground, and out crawls a colossal, dark shadow of a man (Level 8/3000). "Ccapac Apu, finish this duel now!" The giant extends his hand towards Blake. Blake tries to intercept the attack with Gambol Shroud Dragon, and her face-down Scrap-Iron Scarecrow, but the hand passes through them both. (Blake 1400-0).
Blake is knocked off her duel runner and falls to the ground. Adam rides up next to her. "I could so easily claim you now. Your soul would be dragged to an eternity of torment! But I want to savor this suffering, so you can know what it's like. Goodbye, Blake Belladonna!" He rides off, laughing all the way. Blake passes out, incapable of holding back her tears.
