We now return to a teenager too strong for her own–and probably the world's–good and her current problem.
PRESENT DAY
Saitama blinks twice, slowly getting out of her recollection. She stares at the packaged crab she picked up with a slight head tilt.
"Has it really been three years since that loser villain?" Saitama glances up when a strand of white hair falls in her eyes. She blows up, making the hair fall to the side of her face.
"After that day, I trained so hard, my hair went white. I can't even cut my damn hair anymore..." Saitama puts the crab in her shopping basket. "And no one can beat me now. I'm the hero I wanted to become."
She rolls her neck with a quiet sigh, not noticing the looks, glares, and whispers following her. "So what is this? What's wrong? Why do I feel so empty?"
She frowns slightly when her hair falls back into her eyesight before she huffs out another breath. The chopped up strands move to the side of her face again while she heads towards the cashier. It'll be time for her to burn it all off again.
She remembers freaking out when her hair started going grey, and then the next day it just went completely white. She tried everything to shave it all off–desperately hoping her hair would grow back as its normal black... which it did not–but when her hair broke three pairs of scissors, five hair clippers, and seven normal razors, she just let it be.
Thankfully, she had dealt with some kind of fire-spitting monster and quickly found out her hair was still flammable–well, flammable when it's being completely submerged in fire at a temperature of at least 1371 degrees Celsius. Of course, it only singes the dead ends at that degree, but at least it was something. She's burnt so many holes through concrete when she annually burns off all her hair so it wouldn't get in her way once it starts to grow back.
"482 yen, please," The cashier speaks in some kind of tone that easily passes over Saitama's head.
She hums softly while taking out a 500 yen coin. "Okay. Oh, hang on."
Saitama doesn't notice the ground shaking, nor the lights flickering, while searching for 82 yen. Her eyebrows furrow when the shaking keeps causing her hand to move before she finally grabs the coins.
"I have 82 yen." Saitama keeps her hand held out, staring at the empty space the cashier had been standing at. No one was around her either. Saitama turns to face the store while finally noticing the shaking.
The lights flicker out completely and something huge blocks the sunlight from behind the teenager. Saitama slowly turns around to see the sky and a destroyed part of the city. She blinks twice before walking towards the destroyed storefront.
She looks up and sees a giant titan towering over everything. Ah. There goes her next three meals.
"Well. It seems interesting..." Saitama rolls back her shoulder before she crouches down. She leaps up high into the air, easily catching up with the titan. Might as well go check and see what's happening.
"This is an emergency evacuation warning."
Sirens ring loudly throughout City B. Panicked cries and screams almost smother the sirens while helicopters start to fly up into the air.
"A giant creature has appeared in City D."
Dozens of people run through the streets, trying to evacuate as the buildings start to crumble from the aftershocks of the titan's footsteps.
"The creature is currently heading towards City B. All residents of the area, please evacuate immediately. I repeat the giant creature is currently headed for–"
"Man, that's a lot of destruction," Saitama thinks while blocking the sun with her hand to peer down at the city currently being squished into nothing.
"Yes, that's right! Scatter like rats! Get them!" Saitama blinks at the excited yell and glances over at the titan's other shoulder. She blinks blankly. A mad scientist, huh?
"I'm the strongest man, I'm the strongest man, I'm the strongest man," The titan repeats, almost eardrum-bursting loud.
"What do you think, brother?!" The mad scientist is definitely maniacal, but Saitama doesn't pay any attention to him.
She smiles and looks up at the titan. "Yeah, how's it feel to be the strongest?"
"He's huge... maybe he can put up a fight!" Excitement, muffled and almost stagnated, starts to bubble inside Saitama.
"What?" The mad scientist points at Saitama, taking her attention away from the titan. "There's a delinquent on your shoulder!"
Saitama blinks and ignores the mad scientist. "Hey dude, put on some pants though."
"That ugly delinquent on your shoulder! Kill him!" The mad scientist orders loudly.
The titan stays still for a few seconds before bringing up his hand and slapping his right shoulder. He pulls back his hand and stares down at the blood splatter and stained the lab coat.
"BROTHERRRR!" Saitama casually plugs her ears with her fingers. "HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?! I JUST WANTED TO BE STRONG! AND I FINALLY AM THE STRONGEST MAN, BUT..."
"Maybe he will be a challenge for me!" Saitama thinks with a blank smile on her face. The titan looks down at her before roaring in fury.
He grabs her and raises his fist. "I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE, BUT IT'S YOUR FAULT MY BROTHER IS DEAD!"
Saitama is thrown right into a building, completely reducing it into rubble. She stares up without a single emotion on her face as the titan jumps up and slams his foot on top of her.
"...it doesn't hurt..." Saitama sighs through the clouds of dust and smoke and debris while the titan starts to barrage her with punches. "It doesn't hurt."
Saitama slowly stands up from the giant crater she had been pummeled into. She sighs again and shakes the dirt out of her hair before looking up. The titan was looking down at the hand he used to mistakenly kill his brother.
"I really hoped he'd be a challenge..." Saitama rolls back her shoulder before she crouches down.
"Right?" Saitama leaps up into the air, aiming right for the titan's head. She pulls back her fist and easily punches the titan, shattering its jaw and skull.
"Having overwhelming strength is..." Saitama sighs for a third time "...pretty boring."
Saitama blinks when the–now dead–titan falls right on top of City B. "Oops."
CITY B DESTROYED
Saitama bites the inside of her cheek, purposely ignoring the eggs she was carrying. Damn that titan! She had to go to a more expensive convenience store!
Saitama idly wanders down the street. "There's no sign that the evils of the world are disappearing. I mean, I'm still a teenager, but this hasn't changed since before I became a hero. In other words, I probably haven't made any kind of impact. I'm not necessarily sad about that."
Saitama stops walking when she spots a stray cat. She blinks before walking over and crouching next to it. A barely there smile forms on her face when the cat allows her to pet it.
"But something's been bothering me. I've always had a hard time deciphering my emotions... but it feels like they're growing more distant as the days pass." Saitama curls her fingers when the cat suddenly stops wanting affection and runs away. "Fear, tension, joy... even anger. I feel none of them anymore."
Saitama rests her elbow on her knee and rests her chin in her hand. She stares blankly ahead of her, not really caring about being in the middle of the street at twilight.
"In exchange for power... maybe I've lost something that's essential for a human being?" Saitama blinks back into reality when she hears a cat's yowl. She glances over when something rolls into her, watching the spare tire bounce off of her and her grocery bag.
"Vroom, vroom?" Saitama tries to check her eggs while a car monster turns around from its rummaging.
"No sense hiding if you saw me!" The car monster marches over towards Saitama, pulling her attention towards it. "I'm Super Custom Y0649Z Mk. II! I love–"
"I remember feeling emotions. Not anything like happiness or love, maybe some longing, but when I was fighting... I would feel all kinds of emotions. Fear. Panic. Anger..." Saitama ignores the monster's monologuing for one of her own. It's rare when she's introspective.
"–thinking of getting in my way, I'll put a shine on that cheaply bleached hair of yours–" There's a shriek of metal as Saitama punches the top half of the car monster into shreds of metal and guts.
"All I need is one punch to beat the loser villains." Saitama tries to shake off the oil-colored blood off of her fist, but sighs in defeat when it doesn't and wipes it off with her skirt instead. She opens her bag again and frowns at seeing most of the eggs broken. Great.
"I guess it's gonna be eggs over rice for tonight. I already went over my budget buying them," Saitama speaks to herself while she starts walking back home.
She gets home uninjured; like always. She starts hand washing her uniform in the sink; like always. She takes a bath while waiting for the rice to cook in the rice cooker; like always. She dresses in her matching pajama set of a blue tank top and shorts; like always. She watches whatever new episode is out for an anime or the news if nothing's coming out; like always. She turns off the light and curls up in a ball in her futon; like always.
"I just do the hero-thing as a hobby... it's probably okay if I'm fighting monsters while feeling like my heart's not in it." Saitama stares at her blank wall for almost five minutes, trying and failing to fall asleep; like always.
"In other words, as long as I get a kick out of it, that's all I care about..." Saitama never finishes the thought as she finally falls asleep.
It begins as a morning. Everything is calm; like always.
Saitama had moved onto her back, snoring somewhat loudly as she slept fitfully. Something loud and big shakes the Earth, not waking up the teenager. She snaps awake when something makes her instincts scream, barely having enough time to bolt up when a giant hand thrusts through her wall and grabs her head.
She doesn't hesitate to slap the hand away, making whatever has grabbed her fly through the other wall. She stands up and turns to face the heavy dust blocking her sight, only to be thrown out of her house and onto the street.
Saitama stares up at her completely destroyed apartment with wide eyes when the dust finally settles. "My house?!"
BANG!
The teenager turns around and blocks the sudden punch to her side. She stares at the large fist before she's suddenly thrown towards the overpass, slamming through a few metal fences. She kneels on one knee after climbing out of the support she landed in, ignoring the blood dripping from her temple.
The large monster walks up to her, making Saitama glare up at it. "He's tough!"
"Dude, what the hell are you?" Saitama asks, not really wanting to dance around this.
One of the monster's red eyes shrinks before its head straightens up. "'What' am I? That's rude. We are the true earthlings."
"We?" Saitama repeats.
"I believe you call us 'Subterraneans'. We suffer from overpopulation. Therefore, we must now claim the world aboveground."
Saitama stands up as dozens, maybe even hundreds, of these Subterraneans start to dig themselves up out of the ground.
"I understand that there are many people on the surface too. As it stands, you are in our way. That is why we decided to eradicate you all."
Saitama gasps in shock. "What the fu–"
"Since our invasion commenced, 70% of the surface dwellers have been killed. This is a battle for survival. I hope you can understand that."
"I don't understand shi–"
"However, this is unexpected. We have encountered no surface dwellers whom our punches would not kill."
"Same here. It's been too long since I've come across worthy opponents... even though you're really rude for interrupting my thoughts, Subterraneans!" Saitama states with clenched fists.
The Subterranean's eyes start to glow before suddenly punching the concrete pillar Saitama just moved away from. "We are earthlings!"
Saitama easily corrects her footing and throws a punch at the Subterranean's abdomen with a war cry. It hits completely and the Subterranean explodes in a shower of blood.
The other Subterraneans step back in their shock while Saitama starts to smirk. "You bastard!"
"Die!" Saitama dodges an attack from another Subterranean, using her momentum to kick through one before she flies up in the air, landing on the overpass. The Subterraneans follow and immediately begin charging.
Saitama dodges one with a spin before ducking underneath the roundhouse kick of another. She spins again before jumping in the air and flipping to avoid a third. She falls and lands in a crouch beneath the fourth and snaps her head up with a snarl, only to be punched by all four. The overpass is completely broken off by the force of Saitama taking all four punches, holding them all in place.
A fire, long since almost diminished, alights in her eyes before she falls back and lets the punches fly over her. She twists her body and swipes out all four of the Subterraneans with her leg. Saitama turns on her heel and pulls back her fist with a war cry, punching one of the unbalanced Subterranean right in the chest. It flies into what remains of the overpass before exploding into a pool of blood.
More and more Subterraneans jump to attack Saitama, only to be kicked or punched back. One of her tank top straps is torn completely off and the seam is ripped just below her armpit, barely hanging on by the hem.
She continues to attack, not the least but tired, even while the Subterraneans keep coming. Her tank top is torn completely off of her body and her shorts start to fray. A giant Subterranean, clearly much stronger than the others, lands in front of Saitama after she kicks a Subterranean into another. She crouches to leap at it, only for it to punch her across the entire overpass.
A large explosion decimates the abandoned area of City Z and the Subterraneans quickly surround the center in case the girl still managed to live.
"It's over," One says, expertly hiding their relief.
"What was that surface dweller?"
"I'm..." Saitama takes a deep breath, slowly walking out of the fire. The orange inferno makes her hair glow like lava and her brown eyes, normally dull and lifeless, held an even brighter flame inside them.
"...just a girl who's a hero for fun. I do not lose to losers like you. And the surface..." Saitama snaps her head up while punching her naked chest with her fist, "is under my protection!"
The Subterraneans begin to attack again, only to be decimated by the teenager. "Big talk for a race of vermin!"
Saitama leaps up into the air with a war cry and punches the Subterranean who talked. She kicks the same one before using the momentum to kick another charging towards her. A large chunk of the overpass falls in the path of a third, only for the Subterranean to punch it into rubble. A second chunk falls, but the same fate is given to it.
Saitama leaps up and punches the Subterranean against the ground before it could attack her. She suddenly turns in the air with her fist raises, only for her face to meet a fist head on.
"What... What is this feeling?" Saitama punches back the fist, breaking the entire hand. "This wild throbbing in my heart?!"
She lands an uppercut against the Subterranean before she is smashed in between two fists. "This rush, this tension!"
She kicks back both Subterraneans with a wild grin starting to grow on her face. She continues to decimate the Subterraneans, getting faster and faster.
"It's been so long, I forgot the exhilaration of a real fight!" A gleeful giggle escapes Saitama's mouth unbeknownst to her. "I-I've forgotten... I forgot what these emotions feel like!"
The fires die and so do the Subterraneans. Rain starts to fall while Saitama stands on top of a pile of corpses, breathing heavily.
"It's coming back to me. This is it."
"Well, well..." An explosion ruptures the Earth before Saitama. "Looks like you've been taking good care of my children!"
Saitama grins wildly, preparing to fight. "This is it!"
"I, the Subterranean King, will take you on," The apparent leader of the Subterraneans declares, already readying his power.
Saitama takes a few steps forward before breaking into a sprint. She leaps into the air with a fist pulled back.
"This is the very feeling I've been looking for!"
BACK IN REALITY
An alarm clock rings loudly, startling Saitama awake. She punches the clock through her floor, staring dumbly at her ceiling.
"A dream." Saitama sits up, still not quite catching up with her thoughts. She tilts her head back when she hears some kind of bang outside.
"The surface is ours!" Saitama crawls out of her futon and walks out onto her balcony. "You surface dwellers must die! I am the Subterranean King!"
A puny copy of the ginormous monster from her dream is swinging around even punier swords. A posse of Subterranean looking monsters were cheering him on from the hole in the ground.
"Surface dwellers, prepare yourselves for–" Saitama falls down, already dressed in her school–and hero–uniform and squishes the Subterranean like a bug.
She jumps back and lands on the ground next to it, holding up both her fists with a wild grin on her face. "All right, bring it on! I'll face all you losers head on!"
A white flag with an apology written on it is in place where the Subterraneans once were. Saitama lowers her fists before turning to look around, scratching her cheek.
"I've become too strong."
THE NEXT DAY
"What could be the cause of the massive mosquito outbreak this year? We ask Mr. Kafetch, a mosquito expert who has written several books on the subject," The news reporter speaks concisely.
Saitama listens with half an ear, humming softly to herself while she fills up her adorable elephant watering can. What? It was on sale!
"Thank you for having me," Mr. Kaffee or whatever speaks up. "Well, let me come right to the point. These mosquitoes belong to an entirely new species. Therefore, I know nothing about them."
Saitama grabs her full watering can and walks out of her kitchen and towards her balcony. She scratches the back of her freshly bald head, sighing quietly in relief that she won't have to buy shampoo or conditioner for a good chunk of the year.
"Get out! Ah, excuse me. Now, let's take a look at the areas likely to be hit–"
"Dude, City Z's in their path." Saitama sighs again, this time in slight annoyance, before she walks out onto her balcony, sliding her feet into her sandals. "Now we've got a mosquito outbreak?"
Most bugs are okay, but mosquitoes are just the worst. Mosquitoes, somehow even during winter–of all seasons–always went after Saitama growing up. With the almost non-existent amount of money she had been given monthly back then, she could barely afford a week's worth of food and her bills, let alone bug spray.
Fortunately, she no longer has to worry about scratching her dozens up on dozens of mosquito bites to the point of bleeding anymore; having nearly impenetrable skin is a wonderful bug deterrent. Of course, mosquitoes still come after her like she's some kind of smoked ham even though they can't drink her blood.
Saitama rests her chin on her palm while watering her cactus. She blankly watches the water douse the plant she had gotten on sale and somehow brought back to life.
"Maybe I should get another cactus... a friend for this one so it won't be so lonely..." Saitama faintly hears some kind of emergency interruption on her television, but ignores it for her current dilemma.
Her cactus continued to get drenched by the water pouring down. Her lonely cactus... hm.
"...well, it's just a cactus. It can't really get lonely," Saitama continues before shrugging the thoughts away. It's an indecisive dilemma that she'll deal with if she ever comes across another plant sale.
Saitama blinks when she hears an all too familiar buzzing. Her eyes immediately focus on the tiny mosquito slowly flying and landing on her hand.
Damn mosquito.
She frowns and lifts her free hand, still watering her cactus, before slapping the mosquito with enough force to crack concrete. She lifts her hand, almost ready to go back to unknowingly over watering her cactus, when the mosquito flies out from underneath.
It flies around in front of her face before she darts her hand forward to squish it in her fist. It barely dodges and she immediately does it again, only for it to dodge. Again.
It lands on her temple and her hooded eyes slowly slide towards it. She doesn't even hesitate to slap her entire left side of her face.
The mosquito flies out between her fingers.
Saitama calmly sets down her–empty–watering can before standing up. Her expression is set in stone before her eyes look to the right. She leaps around her balcony, clapping her hands together each time; the mosquito escapes each time.
"You fucking loser...!" Saitama growls when the lone mosquito escapes again, this time flying away from her balcony. Saitama grits her teeth and flies through her apartment to grab her only can of bug spray for purposes like these.
This little shit is going down!
SMASH!
A laugh of disbelief echoes throughout a desolate street in City Z. "Thanks to that warning, they're all empty! Like someone's gonna die from a mosquito bite."
An unremarkable man with an unremarkable crowbar steps out into the street with a large grin. He harrumphs and turns his head to check the valuables he stole from the abandoned houses and shops from this street alone.
"What's losing a little blood if I get all this?" The unremarkable man continues to talk to himself.
A noise, somewhat dissonant, zooms past. Something definitely not feeling like a strong breeze knocks the man's beanie off of his head. It flies up into the air before quickly disappearing like it was actually flying. The man watches it leave before facing forward with a slight hesitation in his eyes.
"The wind...?"
Silence rings out before the dissonant sound comes back. A dark cloud of thousands of mosquitoes flies low to the ground before darting towards the unremarkable, and clearly a goner, man. It wraps around his legs and quickly travels up his body, making him try to take a step back in shock.
"What the–?!" The man panics and attempts to swing his crowbar to scare away the mosquitoes.
Screams are ripped out from his throat as the mosquitoes attach to every spot of open skin. They suck all of the blood out of the man, gorging themselves to the point of almost bursting.
They suddenly fly away once they suck up every miniscule speck of blood, leaving behind a mummified corpse of the unremarkable man. The mosquitoes fly up to a large sphere of others, quickly joining the ranks to feed their queen.
The monster moans in delight, arching her back as she feeds off of the gorged blood. She groans on dissatisfaction while her little ones separate from her.
"Come on, you guys~! That wasn't nearly enough." She looks up, uninterested and bored. "Go get some more for me!"
Her eyes slightly widen when she suddenly feels a presence below her. The sudden heat comes next.
"Target acquired," A solemn voice speaks up before a blazing fire shoots towards the monster. The mosquito monster easily flies around, dodging the fire aimed towards her.
"I see. You make them suck the blood, then take it all for yourself," The man–the boy speaks his hypothesis apathetically. "You must be controlling the mosquitos via some sort of signal. That would explain their mysterious behavior. So if I were to get rid of you, the leader, would the swarm disperse too?"
The monster laughs mockingly, her eyes growing hooded at the sight of easy prey. "Our next meal is here. Go drain him dry."
The mosquitoes follow their queen's order and shoot towards the boy. They quickly surround him, only to be vaporized by fire.
"Incinerate."
The mosquito monster stares wide-eyed, gasping at the sight of so many of her little ones dying. The boy's palm quickly cools down as he glares up at her.
"I am about to eliminate you. Stay where you are," He speaks again while his arm begins to power up for another beam of fire.
The monster gets over her shock with a giggle and smirks. "You, eliminate me? Go on and try!"
Fire explodes out and surrounds the entire street. The monster simply flies higher to avoid the flames.
The boy–cyborg, more specifically–races up one of the buildings before crouching to leap forward. He leaves a small crater from the force of his leap and aims a punch at the mosquito monster's face.
She easily dodges and flies right behind the cyborg, raising her sharp talons to flip the boy around before attempting to slash him apart.
CLINK!
The cyborg blocks the blades with his bare arm, glaring up at the monster indifferently. One of his joints rotates and lights up blue before he uses it to fly back and away from the monster. He flips and lands on the side of another building before leaping forward again.
A game of cat and mouse begins between the two. The monster slams the cyborg towards the ground; the cyborg aims another incinerate at her. The monster effortlessly dodges the fireballs and takes out the cyborg's arm; the cyborg takes out her legs.
The mosquito monster flies away to gain some time, more irritated by the entire interaction. How dare a little boy attack her? How dare someone get in her way?
She scoffs quietly and licks her lips. "The townspeople may all be hiding, but there are plenty of animals around. Come here, little ones. Empty all your stored juices into me!"
All the mosquitoes under the monster's control immediately follow the order. The monster outstretches her arms as the mosquitoes surround her in a giant sphere above the town.
As the sphere gets bigger, the cyborg stops running to stare up at it. He quickly realizes what is most likely happening.
"So many. If she's been collecting blood from the whole town and beyond, then it may not simply be a food source for her." The cyborg begins to power up his incinerate cannon from his only arm. "I should put an end to this as soon as possible."
"Get back here, you loser! You and I aren't done yet!" A loud shout stops the cyborg from fully powering up his cannon. He whips his head around and watches as some kind of bald delinquent in khakis and a black sweatshirt comes barreling down the street with a can of bug spray, chasing after a singular mosquito.
"What's with this guy?" The cyborg continues to watch while the delinquent makes a face, stopping a few feet away from the cyborg.
"It's in my mouth! Disgusting–you little–argh!" The delinquent wipes at his mouth before looking up, noticing the ginormous horde of mosquitoes.
"Eh? What's that squirming over there?" He raises a hand over his eyes before leaning back with a gasp. "Is that mosquitoes?!"
"You over there," The cyborg calls out, wanting to get this situation done and over with.
"Hm? Oh... hey?"
"Evacuate now," The cyborg continues without any acknowledgement of the delinquent's greeting. "That swarm is conscious. If it senses you, it will immediately attack."
The delinquent stares blankly with wide eyes. "Dude, seriously? That's bad. I gotta get–"
A cackle echoes throughout the empty streets. The cyborg turns back around, completely ignoring the delinquent to focus on the monster.
The swarm of mosquitoes falls down and starts to spread out across the town. The force and strength behind the swarm causes windows to shatter and buildings to fall. It continues to grow, only for multiple explosions to make the entire swarm of mosquitoes explode; and scorching the entire street and buildings in this section of the town.
The cyborg keeps his smoking arm raised. "Since you spoke, I thought you would have at least human-level intelligence. But you were just a bug. You brought all the mosquitoes together into one, easy-to-burn swarm."
"When I spotted you, I confirmed there were no living beings within 500 meters," The cyborg continues even though the monster has been completely vaporized by the fire, "so I should have been free to fire away... wait, that guy might have–"
What a foolish decision! Even though that guy was a delinquent, he should have been more careful with his attacks!
"Holy shit dude, you saved me. You're amazing." The cyborg whips his head around, only for his eyes to widen in shock.
The delinquent was completely unharmed from one of the cyborg's more powerful incinerates... and completely naked?! Steam almost immediately starts to vent out from the cyborg, his fans whirring a bit louder when his eyes accidentally lower towards–
The cyborg turns back around with a choked gasp. The delinquent, ignorant of the cyborg's reason to be reacting that way, continues to smile.
"What was that just now? Dude, you totally made them big out! Ba-dum-dum-tsh!" Silence follows his–her horrible joke.
"Oh, I was just trying to make a joke–"
"I heard it!" The cyborg doesn't mean to sound so harsh while he takes off his shirt. "Just–here. You–you're naked."
The silence continues for a few more moments before the shirt is taken out of the cyborg's hands. A loud laugh rings out, making the cyborg momentarily forget about the delinquent once more.
The monster, now completely red, lowers herself with a mocking grin. "Idiot! I no longer need the tiny ones. I mean..."
The monster slashes at one of the completely scorched buildings. It becomes less than rubble, making the cyborg gasp in shock.
She laughs again before shooting forward towards the cyborg. She suddenly picks up speed and appears behind him before he could even lift his arm and slashes through his slashes, nearly bisecting him.
The cyborg turns around with a snarl and pulls back his fist. The mosquito monster simply punches him up into the air, cutting through one of his legs. She quickly follows after and lands hit after hit against the cyborg, all the while taunting and laughing.
"I see. The more blood she consumes, the more powerful she becomes." As the cyborg falls, he closes his eyes and starts the process of self-destruction. "I let my guard down. There's no chance of winning. All I can do is self-destruct. Forgive me, Doctor..."
Someone slaps the mosquito directly across the face and her entire body explodes into blood, splattering across a building and creating a shockwave from the force. The cyborg gasps at the showcase of immense strength, before slamming against the ground.
The delinquent, now dressed in the cyborg's shirt that barely reached her mid-thigh, stood there with a blank smile. "Mosquitoes... suck."
She almost immediately begins to walk away, humming some kind of tune under her breath. The cyborg, Genos, lifts his head with wide eyes.
"Hold on!" He cries out, making the delinquent–no, Genos' mentor–stop in front of him with a noise of confusion.
"Please tell me your name!"
"Oh. It's Saitama," The delinquent answers easily enough.
"I'd like to be your disciple."
"Oh, okay." Saitama takes a step forward before turning back towards Genos. "Wait, come again dude?"
With the addition of a weirdo cyborg, maybe Saitama's current problem of boredom will be solved... or maybe it just gets more entertaining.
Hey! Hope you all like the new chapter!
The slight changes to Saitama. Not only is it because of Saitama being a teenager (and a girl) but I also sort of made up a past for her.
I have the headcanon that Saitama had either grown up with a budget all his life or grew up being poor/in poverty. With how he constantly checks out sales and doesn't get anything if it's too expensive, yet somewhat necessary, makes me think this.
That isn't all to the past I gave Saitama, but all of that will be revealed later. :3
Anyways, I hope you all are enjoying the story so far! Bye.
