Minato teleports to the front door, hearing nothing inside he becomes curious. 'What are they doing?' Opening the door Minato is about to say he was home until he looked in the living room. There he saw Kushina on the couch asleep cradling a sleeping Naru in her arms. Minato smiled as he went to his room and got on more normal clothes for himself.

Walking back to the living room he saw that both were still out cold so he decided to go into the dining room to start on some sealing with his and Kushina's sealing kit. He got out a large piece of paper that held an incomplete seal he had been working on for many months now, taking so long due to his duties as a shinobi.

Focusing on his seal he barely noticed a sound from the living room. Looking into the room, he noticed that it sounded like Naru might have woken up as he heard her voice so he got up to go see. Walking in he noticed that she was actually still asleep, what he heard however was still Naru.

"Dada." She said in her sleep. Minato smiled brightly at hearing her speak for the first time, though his joy would turn to confusion as Naru began to frown, and then tears would begin to fall down her face. Naru started to cry softly as if trying to hide it even in her sleep. It was almost like she didn't want her father to know she was crying.

Minato bent down to rub her head which seemed to wake her as she opened her violet eyes to look around the room. Seeing Minato in front of her she got up which awoke Kushina from her sleep.

"Mmm, wha…when you get back?" She asked as she stood up, Minato picking up Naru who laid her head on his shoulder still being a little tired.

"Twenty minutes ago. You two have fun?" He asked as he adjusted Naru a little in his arms.

"Yeah, had to clean up after her and she scared me when I woke up. Little gremlin made me think she left. But other than that she was good. Guess we took a nap for a sec." Kushina stretched as she heard a few pops in her joints. "Man, I need to stretch more. I'm stiff."

Minato chuckled. "Yeah you probably should. It helps me. You ready?"

"For wha…oh, that. Yeah." Kushina nodded as she in all reality didn't want to do this. She'd grown attached to Naru even in their short time together and while she wouldn't say it out loud a small part of her didn't want to give Naru back.

"Kushina."

"I'll be fine. Let's just get her home." She gave a fake smile that Minato immediately noticed but didn't comment on as they both left the apartment.

They both entered the office, Naru still resting her head on Minato's shoulder but now awake. Minato and Kushina stood in front of Hiruzen's desk as the older man smiled at them. "Good to see you two. I'm guessing you want some news on that one." He pointed to Naruko who had finally picked her head up to look at him but immediately tried to hide from the Hokage's gaze, shaking a little. The other three in the room were very confused by the girls reaction as Minato rubbed her back and Kushina went behind Minato to look at the little one in an attempt to comfort her.

"Hey it's ok. You don't need to be scared of him." Naru opened her eyes and looked at Kushina, her violet orbs almost showing Kushina all of the child's fears. She was shocked as Naru just buried her face into Minato's neck. The two looked at one another, very curious of this behavior as Minato looked back at the Hokage.

"What have you found out sir?"

Hiruzen snapped out of his thoughts towards the girl's behavior as he looked at the two young adults. "Ah, well we still haven't found the mysterious man. Anbu have been searching but he seems to have vanished. I don't like how he has disappeared so easily and I will keep up the search until we find him. As for her. She's very interesting."

"What do you mean sir? Have you found her parents yet?" Kushina asked.

"That's just the thing. From what I have found out there is no one looking for a girl like her. She has no one that is claiming her and she seems to have just appeared out of nowhere. I'm honestly confused on how this could be but I can try something."

"What's that sir?" Minato asked as he patted Naru's back gently.

"Well I can have Tsunade check her over and take a blood sample. Maybe that could solve this."

Kushina and Minato looked at one another for a moment and nodded. Hiruzen moved his hand to a button to his P.A. system. "Tell Tsunade she can come in." After a few minutes Tsunade opened the doors to Hiruzen's office. "OK where's this kid at?"

Naru looked up to see Tsunade and began to freak out. She cried and began squirming in Minato's arms as everyone else looked at her very confused. Minato and Kushina tried to calm her down but Naru wouldn't listen as she almost seemed like she was trying to get away from Tsunade. Finally after five minutes Naru began to calm down as Kushina had her in her arms and sat on a couch on the left side of the room, humming a song to her that Kushina's mother had sung to her when she was little to calm her down. Kushina's chest as she tried to hide from Tsunade and Hiruzen. Minato stood with the older shinobi as they began to speak amongst each other.

"So I'm guessing she's been like this with other's, kid?" Tsunade asked as Minato shrugged.

"She hasn't been around many other than me and Kushina. Although now that I think of it. Mikoto was with us yesterday and Naru almost had the opposite reaction to her as she did both of you. She almost seemed to completely trust her even more than me or Kushina."

"Naru?" Tsunade asked.

"Oh, that's what we call her. Her name is Naruko."

"Hm. Well I will need her to not freak out if I'm going to do this. Can you distract her with a genjutsu or something so she doesn't know I'm here."

Minato nodded as he weaved a few hand signs and pointing at Naru with his right pointer and middle finger he made a small genjutsu that blocked Tsunade out of Naru's senses. "She won't notice you but I can't hold it for too long."

"Don't worry I'll be done soon." Tsunade went over to Kushina as she told her what they were doing. Kushina understood as she had noticed Minato using some sort of jutsu and expected it was for Naru and she played along and acted as if Tsunade wasn't there. Tsunade did a quick check up on the girl and then looked over her chakra before taking out a needle and placing it in her arm. Luckily she was very still at the moment as she didn't react to the shot as a small amount of blood was drawn. Tsunade quickly healed Naru and numbed the pain so she would freak out once the genjutsu was lifted. Going back to the men, she told Minato to lift the genjutsu and sighed.

"I'm impressed. Most genjutsus would have ended right after the shot. I think the only kinds better than that are from the Uchiha." Tsunade commented as Minato smiled.

"Thanks I've been practicing on it. So what do you know?"

Tsunade sighed once again as she looked to Kushina who now had a very tired baby in her arms who began to sleep again. Kushina walked over to the others with the now sleeping Naru as Tsunade spoke.

"Well first off I can guess her age. She's around 13 months old, so she's technically a toddler now. However, she's got some problems." Minato and Kushina became very worried at hearing that as Kushina instinctively held the girl closer to her.

"She's very underweight for her age and is acting very oddly for her age. She should be talking or at least doing some sort of baby babble of some kind at worst but she hasn't said a thing. has she said anything around you two?"

Minato nodded. "She talked in her sleep just before we came here. She said dada but other than that she hasn't been very talkative."

"You don't say. Well from what I can tell whoever had her last didn't treat her well at all. She's mentally farther behind for her age group but I think with some help she should go to what she's normally supposed to be like. The problem is her chakra."

The three adults got very scared when she said that. Kushina was the first to speak with a worried look.

"Sensei, what are you talking about?"

Tsunade looked at her student and sighed. "The girls' chakra is that of an Uzumaki's. In fact I know exactly who she is related to since she's still so young and her parents' chakras are still very visibly becoming her own."

Kushina was surprised by that as she asked. "Who is it?"

"You two." Tsunade said, pointing to Minato and Kushina the other three in the room were shocked as both Minato and Kushina gasped.

"Wh-what, but that's impossible. We haven't even thought about having kids let alone trying to. That can't be right." Kushina said as Minato just stood there dumbfounded.

"It's true, kid. Trust me I was just as surprised but I know both of your chakras better than most, especially after the Kyuubi incident. But I know you're not her parents for two reasons. One, I definitely would have found out beforehand and you two would never be able to keep a secret like this from me. Especially since I would have killed you both beforehand." The two ninja winced and the Sanin as Minato spoke up.

"And what's the second reason?"

Tsunade sighed once more. "And second is because she had something special. She has Biju chakra."

The room went quiet, say for the slow breathing of Naru. No one could speak as this bit of news came to light. after several minutes of silence Hiruzen was the first to speak.

"So she's a Jinchuriki?"

"No, she isn't."

"What! But how?" Kushina asked.

"She doesn't have enough of the chakra. You see when a child is born from a Jinchuriki they have a very small amount of the tailed beasts chakra within them. So small in fact that unless you're me you probably wouldn't even detect it. But Naru has a bit in her. Not enough for even the One Tail's but definitely enough to be noticed. And more importantly, it isn't conscious. It's just there inside her. It's honestly bizarre to say the least."

The others let this sink in. Naru wasn't normal and this didn't make any sense. They all wondered how this was even possible as Tsunade spoke up once more.

"I think I'm going to use this blood sample to see what else is up with this kid. In the meantime I think this shouldn't be talked about to anyone."

Hiruzen nodded. "Agreed. No one should know about this outside of those within this room."

Kushina and Minato stayed silent as their elders talked. Minato thought about how this was all possible while Kushina was thinking of something else.

"You said she's ours, right?" Kushina asked. Tsunade nodded as Minato looked at Kushina, already knowing what she was about to say next.

"Then, if no one else should know about this. Can we take care of her?"

The older shinobi looked at Kushina confused. "Kid what are you saying?"

Kushina and Minato looked at one another as Minato only sighed and nodded. Kushina smiled as she looked at her sensei and the Hokage. "If Naru has our chakra and all that then I'm guessing she'll have our DNA right?"

Tsunade looked at Kushina very confused. "Yeah, most likely. So what?"

"We want to adopt her. We want to have Naru."
