Mike finds out from Stewart that he got Cancer and after talking to Ryan they went to have the tests. When they got the results back Stewart hopes were dash. He was hopping that Ryan was a match. After Stewart and Ryan left the hospital Mike turn to the doctor
"Stewart was hopping that Ryan would be a match"
"So did I but you and Ryan is a match" Mike look at her
"Pardon me" He said in shock
"You and Ryan white are a match" She look at him with a frond
"There no way. I never slept with Maxine. It's impossiable. She station down in Sydney i'm station here back in nineteen ninty" He shook his head
"Are you alright" She ask
"Yeah... I mean there no way I can be a match. I haven't seen her in two years at the time she gotten pregnat with Ryan and had him"
"I'll go and check the results again"
Then she walk back to her lab. She check the results and did some other checking. When finish she walk back out to where Mike is.
"Commander do you have any brothers"
"Yes three of them why"
"Well I redid the results and did some other tests. Yes you and Ryan are a match but the other tests show that you are not Ryan father... One of your brothers is" Mike shook his head
"None of my bothers have meet Maxine"
"Well some how one of them did and you don't know where or when since you live here and Maxine was at Sydney in nineteen ninty"
"True, thanks for telling me"
"Your welcome"
Mike left and went home. He thought about what the doctor said and he then did some calculations. Then he pick up his phone and made a call
"Maxine White"
"Maxine it Mike"
"Hi how did it go at the hospital"
"No match" Maxine knew there and then who the father is.
"I see, thanks for telling me Mike"
"The reason why I called did you come up to Cains to visits back in nineteen ninety" Maxine frond
"Yes I did, I came to see you. It was in January, you knew that, we spent the night together although we were drunk at the time don't you remember" Mike close his eyes then open them
"Maxine we didn't sleep together"
"Mike we did"
"Maxine" He said raising his voice
"We didn't I wasn't home I was out on patrol I left on the fourth of January and didn't return till the twenty eighth"
"Are you sure"
"Yes" He said letting out his breath as he walk back and fourth from his living room then he stop and close his eyes
"Shit" He said after a minute of silence over the phone
"Mike what is it"
"Maxine when you showed up who answered the door"
"You did why"
"Maxine it wasn't me... it was Connor my brother"
"What" She said in shock
"Connor and I look like twins even though I'm eighteen months older than him... You sleep with my brother Maxine" Maxine was shock with the news.
Here she thought after all these years she sleep with mike only to learn now that it was his brother.
"Mike... I'm sorry I thought it was you"
"Maxine did you know that Stewart wasn't Ryan father"
"I through he was since connor and I only sleep once"
"Once is all it takes. I'm calling connor and tell him. Maxine" Then he hung up
"What a bloody mess" Mike said as he dial his brother number
"Hey Mickey"
"Connor how the family"
"Great kids growing up fast, so why are you calling"
"Remember when you came to visits me in nineteen ninety and I had to leave for a patrol" Connor thought about it
"Yes"
"And a women came to visits me. Maxine"
"Yes I pretend I was you"
"Did you know she was married" Connor was shock
"No you know I don't sleep with married women, I check her hand out, she wasn't wearing any rings and no tan lines. Why are asking this it was almost twenty years ago"
"Connor she had a kid, a boy his name is Ryan. He your son" Mike then sat down and waited for his brother response
"Is this a joke Mike"
"It not"
Then Mike told him about Stewart, the blood tests every thing. When he finish telling connor he waited for connor response.
"I have a son"
"Yes, if you want to meet him you can in three weeks when Hammersley return back from their patrol"
"Sure, I'll have to tell... Jane"
"I'm sure she would under stand"
"Yeah, thanks for calling me Mike"
"No worries" Then they hung up.
While Hammersley was out on patrol Jessica Bird went to check on her e-mail. She was waiting for some information about her birth mother since she was adopted. When she open the link there was a letter and a file for her to open.
When she open it, it was a copy of her adoption papers and who her mother is. Every thing. Jessica went into shock when she saw who her mother is. She didn't here some one walk in and put their hand on her shoulder which made her jump. She turn around and look up
"Hey chicken legs sorry" Dutchy said
Then he saw the shock look on her face so he sat down next to her and turn the chair around till he was facing her
"Hey are you ok" he put his hand on her knee
"I... I just found out who my biological mother is"
"I didn't know you were adopted"
"I am"
"So your in shock cause you know who your mother is"
"Yes... commander white is my biological mother"
Dutchy look at Jessica in shock then he look at the monitor to see the adoption paper he look at the name then he look at Jessica
"Ryan your twin brother"
"Yes. Why did she give me up" Tears were starting to fall
"Why" Then she turn to click off the link and her e-mail then she stood up and ran out of the room. Dutchy stood up and went after her when he almost bump into Kate
"Sorry boss"
"Ductchy why are you in a hurry for" He look down both corridors then to Kate
"It bird boss she received some shocking news"
"Every thing right with her family" Kate frond
"She knows who her birth mother is"
"That great news... isn't it" When she saw the look on Dutchy face Dutchy look down both passage ways then to Kate
"You know how the crew gave Ryan and bird a hard time cause they were born on the same date" Kate smile
"Yes charge call them double trouble cause they both give two dads a hard time cause of his jokes" Dutchy grin
"Boss. They are twins"
"What do you mean cause of there birth date"
"Boss they are twins. Commander white put bird up for adoption when she was born" Kate look at Dutchy in shock
"Are you sure"
"I saw the attachment that was sent to bird from the adoption agency. Birth mother Maxine Anderson White, father unknown" Kate was shock
"Poor Jessica"
"Yeah, I'll go and find her"
"Sure and thanks for telling me"
"Sure" Then they went their separate ways.
Kate went to use her lap top in her office. She e-mail Mike about what Dutchy told her. When finish she went to get a brew and return back to the bridge.
Dutchy found Jessica at the back of the ship. He could see she was crying. He walk up to her and pulled her into his arms. He felt her arms go around his waist. They stay like that for ten minutes before Jessica pulled back and wipe her eyes
"Are you ok" She look up at him
"I will be. I would like to know why she put me up for adoption"
"Only she can answer that question"
"Hey" They turn to the voice to see Ryan walking over to them
"Jessica are you ok" She turn to Dutchy
"Dutchy do you mind if I talk to Ryan alone"
"Sure" Then he walk down to the side of the boat and stop he turn to watch them talk.
"Jessica what wrong"
"I got the information from the adoption agency"
"That great so you know who your mother is then" He said smiling
"Yes... you know her very well"
"I do" He raise his eye brows
"Ryan... your my twin brother" Ryan laugh
"Ryan it no joke your mother is my mother" he stop laughing and look at Jessica
"No your lying"
"It true the adoption agency e-mail me copies of my adoption papers and birth certificate. Maxine Anderson White is my mother. Father unknown" Ryan shook his head
"No it can't be"
"It is remember when we first met"
"Yes"
"Have you notice a strange connection between us some thing strong but can't explain it"
"Yes" Then his eyes widen
"Your my sister"
"Twin"
"These past few days it been crazy"
"Your father"
"Yeah... before I return I went to see the doctor who was doing the blood test. I ask her a lot of questions which her answers confuse me"
"What questions and answers"
"You know about the tests and there no match"
"Yes"
"She told me only a family member got more of a chance. I ask her what she mean... she said that dad isn't my dad. I said she was lying" Bird thought about what Ryan said
"If your father isn't your biological father then who is"
"I don't know I ask her if she was sure with the tests. She said that dad is o negative. Mum B positive and I'm..."
"A negative"
"How do you know my blood type" Jessica pulled out her dog tags
"I'm A negative"
"You know we can't be on the same boat"
"I know, I'm still waiting to find out if I've been excepted for my medic training. If I've been accepted then I be transferred to the hospital for six months for my training"
"When will you know"
"Any day" Then she look at her watch
"I better go and get dinner started before I have the crew complaining"
"Hey if they do you could always" He said smiling for the first time
"No that stuff is for two dads, I hope he has learn his lesson after what prank he did to me the other day"
"True, I'm glad I wasn't the one who has to clean the toilets after he been in there" Jessica laugh as they walk towards Dutchy
"I don't think any one wants to after two dads been in there" Dutchy raise his eye brows wondering what they were talking about
"Every thing ok"
"Yeah. Ryan knows"
"He knows" Ryan said. Jessica turn to Ryan
"Yeah he saw the email."
"Don't worry you two, two dads will never stand a chance when you two get together. Twins, what next"
"Who knows Dutchy" Then Jessica gave him a hug
"Thanks Dutchy"
"No worries" Then they pulled back
"Ryan what is it like finding out about your twin sister"
"Shock, even more shock when..." Ryan look at Jessica, she gave him a nod. Then he look at Dutchy
"I... we don't know who our father is" Dutchy frond
"What do you mean isn't Stewart white your father"
"yes no..." Ryan said
"Stewart White isn't our biological father" Jessica said Dutchy raise his eye brows
"Your joking, of cause not, Are you sure"
"Blood test confirm it few days ago" Ryan said
"Sorry mate,I had no idea, if you need some one to talk to you know where I'll be"
"Thanks Dutchy"
"Boss knows" They look at Dutchy
"Knows what" Jessica asked
"About your mother and you two being twins"
"Dose any one else know?" Jessica asked
"No... so what are we having for dinner tonight" Dutchy asked as he change the subject.
"You men and your stomachs is that all you think about" Jessica said as she walk to a door and open it
"Nope, beer and a good women" Dutchy said grinning. Jessica turn to him and shake her head
"Men and for your answer Dutchy it chicken drums" She said grinning then turn to walk through the door
"I hope they are tasty" He said as he follow Jessica down to the galley with Ryan behind him Jessica stop and turn to Dutchy and grin at him since he was smiling at her
"It would depends on which chicken legs you are talking about" She said then turn around and carry on walking. Ryan laugh as he walk pass shock Dutchy
"Your in trouble now mate, good luck" Knowing that Dutchy calls her chicken legs. Then he follow Jessica down to the Galley. Dutchy shook his head and turn around and walk towards the bridge.
