A/N: I made some edits to the previous chapter since I accidentally made Georg say "I don't know! It's not my kid!" but it is his kid, so I apologize for that. To clear some things up, the reason Georg broke up with Maria was because he was basically being forced by his parents. As August had said: "Either you do it, or we do." I guess Georg would've rather done it himself than his parents, it would be a bit weird if your boyfriend's parents told you that he wanted to break up with you. And the reason that Georg's parents wanted them to break up was because they didn't want to deal with a grandchild. This chapter is the exciting part that we've all been waiting for, Maria and Georg's child coming into the world! Anyway, I hope you enjoy!
P.S: I don't own anything!
Since you were born,
Cause you're the reason I believe in fate, you're my paradise.
And I'd do anything to be your love, to be your sacrifice.
Cause I love you for infinity
Infinity- James Young, 2017
The last 9 months passed by in a blur. It was full of tears, acceptance and chocolate ice cream.
Yes, you read that right. Chocolate ice cream.
Elsa had been buying Maria chocolate ice cream since it was the only thing that could calm her down, Maria went to stay at Elsa's for a while until she had the courage to go back to Abby. Abby called everyday to make sure Maria was okay, she didn't know about the baby yet. Maria told Abby that she was going to stay at Elsa's for the summer until she 'went to college' but she wasn't going to go to college. Maria decided that she was going to put her time into raising her child, maybe get a part time job on the side. She slowly grew to accept and love the child.
Elsa was a supportive friend, buying Maria chocolate ice cream, letting Maria stay at her house, convincing her mom to let Maria stay over for a few months, going to doctor's appointments with Maria. Maria was very grateful for her best friend.
"What do you think Georg's doing right now?" Maria asked, setting her book down.
"I thought you were 'so over him'?" Elsa looked at a very pregnant Maria, who looked right back at her.
"I am! He's the father of my child- isn't it right that I should wonder how he's doing?"
"I guess you're right." Elsa shrugged before putting her hand on Maria's bump, she smiled as she felt kicking. "Does that hurt you?"
"Not really, I don't feel pain but I can feel it."
"It's almost your due date, are you excited?" Elsa was so excited for this baby to come into the world, if not more excited than Maria. "I'm so excited, you're going to be the best mom ever!"
"Really?"
"Yes, really!" Elsa exclaimed, "I can't wait to be an aunt!"
"I'm sure you'll be the best aunt in the world."
"I'm quite sure of that too."
"Don't you feel bad?"
Georg raised his voice at his parents for the first time at the dinner table.
His parents brought up Maria and the baby, Georg simply couldn't take it anymore.
"You made her a single mother, having to raise the kid on her own. Yes, she could have gotten a new boyfriend- that's when I come in. How do you think that makes me feel? Another man is the kid's father figure, what about me? I'm it's biological dad and all because you didn't want to deal with the child doesn't mean you two should just neglect it or it's mother! How do you think it makes Abby feel? What if Maria didn't go back to Abby? We're lucky we even got to live here, what if Abby doesn't accept Maria because she suddenly has a baby in her arms? Where would Maria go then?"
"Georg." Hede grabbed her brother's arm. She was, too, surprised by Georg's outburst. "Please, let's talk this through."
Georg sat down, obeying his sister's silent request.
"How about you, mom and dad, let Maria use one of your apartments that you two own. That will solve the issue of where Maria would live and it could serve as a 'thank you for giving birth to my grandchild, even though I made my son break up with you because I didn't want to deal with a grandchild' gift." Hede explained, "But don't say the last part."
Hede was on Georg's side for this one. Even though Georg could be incorrigible sometimes, she still needed to help him out sometimes.
"What a great idea, Hede!" Hedwig praised, "That's what we'll do."
"Awesome." Georg snorted.
Then the telephone rang, Georg went to respond. As soon as he picked it up, he heard Elsa's voice.
"Georg? Come to the hospital now, Maria's giving birth."
He put the telephone back and ran to Felix, their driver, and told him to drive to the hospital.
"Georg? You made it!"
"Hi, how is she?"
"Screaming."
"Oh, she's already on that stage?"
"Yeah, I've been with her here since her water broke but I was just hesitant to call you since you know..." Elsa trailed off, "But I think you deserve to see your newborn baby, no matter how much of an asshole you are."
"Pardon?"
"I said, no matter how much of an asshole you are."
"I heard you!"
"I know you did but seriously though, what the fuck? The first thing the doctor asked her when we came was: 'Do you have a husband or boyfriend with you?' You know, she looked so sad." Elsa told him, "And throughout her pregnancy, I had to buy her so much chocolate ice cream."
"Chocolate ice cream?"
"Yes, chocolate ice cream. It was the only thing that could calm her down, and if you were there- you would know that."
"I mean- I knew chocolate ice cream was her favorite ice cream..."
"Sure you did."
"I do!"
"Mhm and you know what the thing she said the most during her pregnancy was?" Elsa paused for a second, "I wonder what Georg's doing."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Wow." Georg was surprised, he didn't expect that.
"So, do you think it's a girl or a boy?"
"I don't know."
"Well, I don't know either- that's why I'm asking you." Elsa rolled her eyes, "I don't know what you think"
"So, you do know if it's a girl or a boy?"
"Yes, but I didn't tell Maria. So, I'm not telling you."
"Why not?"
"Because if the person who's carrying the child doesn't know, then you shouldn't know either."
"But you know and you're not carrying the child."
"That's because she gave me permission to know first, she didn't want to know until the baby was born."
"Oh."
"Oh." Elsa said in a mocking tone.
"Hey! I hope you aren't going to teach my child that!"
"Trust me, I won't. I'm going to be the best aunt in the world."
"Says who?"
"Says Maria."
"Oh, did she say anything about me?"
"Yes."
"What is it?" Georg was so curious, did she get over him yet?
"That you're a jackass." Elsa told him, it was true.
"Oh."
Elsa rolled her eyes again, "It's the fourth time that you've said 'Oh' in 20 minutes."
"And it's the second time you've rolled your eyes at me,"
"That's because you're annoying."
Then they both heard a muffled scream coming from Maria's room.
"Is she okay?"
"Would you be okay if you had a baby coming out of you?"
"Probably not."
"There's your answer."
"Oh."
"Fifth time." Elsa said, handing him a magazine. "Here, this will keep you busy."
An hour and 40 minutes. It had been an hour and forty minutes since Georg had arrived. He waited anxiously, fidgeting with his hands while Elsa read her 6th magazine beside him.
"Do you think she would be mad that I'm here?"
"Oh please, stop being so nervous. You weren't this nervous when you broke up with her in the middle of a park."
"Actually I was- I just didn't show it, my heart was beating so fast and-"
He didn't even get to finish his sentence when the door to Maria's room opened.
"Are you the father?"
"Yes."
"Oh, that's weird- she said the father wasn't coming. Are you sure she's the right one?"
"She's Maria Rainer?"
"Yes. Well, congratulations on your newborn baby daughter. She is 5 pounds and is with her mother right now. She requested for Elsa?"
"Yes, I'm Elsa." Elsa passed Georg as she walked into the room, Georg followed her.
Maria was perched on some pillows, holding the baby in her arms while she talked to it.
"You're the reason I believe in fate, you're my paradise. I'd do anything to be your sacrifice, because I'll love you for infinity."
Elsa slowly walked up to her.
"Maria?"
"Hi." Maria looked up at Elsa, smiling. Her hair was messy and she was sweating, her eyes were filled with tears. "She's perfect."
"She is." Elsa looked at the small bundle in Maria's arms. "I hope you don't mind, I brought someone."
Elsa moved to the side, revealing Georg.
"Georg?" Maria's tired eyes widened.
"Hello, Maria." he knelt beside the bed, looking at the baby. "Hello, I'm your dad. I probably won't see you that much but I wanted to let you know that I will love you. Please treat your mommy well, she took a lot of time to bring you into this world."
"And uh, Maria... Thank you for bringing her here." he gave her a kiss on the cheek and her gaze softened. "I know I haven't been the best father of our child but I give my best wishes to you for raising our child."
"Thank you," Maria smiled at him. "It was my pleasure to bring her here."
