Eno was scared. Where was Sasha? Where was he? A hollow feeling of emptiness formed in his gut at Sasha being gone, and then he was scared. He was so, so scared and the boy curled up on himself, covering his mouth and any part of himself.
He just wanted Sasha. He didn't want to feel scared, but Sasha wasn't here, and Eno didn't know what to do. Stifling his voice, Eno prayed for Sasha.
Screams. Terrible screams. There were screams, shouts and cries and so much noise, and then there was nothing. It was so terrible. He didn't know where Sasha was, and he wanted him. He just wanted Sasha.
They came in a cacophony of an inconsistent rhythm. It started, stopped, then there was shouting, and then it became silent, then it started once more and then devolved into something so horrible. Eno covered his ears, pleading for Sasha.
Sasha. Sasha, where are you?!
Sasha made everything all better, even if it was just a little, but Sasha wasn't here.
Eno curled in further on himself, even if he was hidden. Sasha told him to hide when there was someone dangerous, but it provided no comfort. Wracked with tremors, Eno wanted the comfort of Sasha, but Sasha wasn't here. He wasn't here! Where was he?!
Sasha didn't know what happened, but the moment he heard a scream pierce the air, he knew that nothing else mattered. Nothing but Eno. He had to get to Eno, and they had to leave to get to safety.
He moves as quickly as possible.
There was chaos and carnage among it. Sasha sees people running, sprinting across multiple directions. Nothing of the previous sight. There was fire and smoke and homes burning, and Sasha was transfixed by the horrendous sight of even bodies, but then his duties, as he was reminded of Eno, and his heart leaped to his chest, as his renewed vigor allowed him to make his way past the bodies and wreckage, holding whatever he had down his throat; Eno and only Eno kept him from emptying the contents of his stomach, as he ignored the sight of corpses. His own fear began to form at Eno being one of them, but could not. He quickened his pace at one of the hiding spots he had told Eno to go if he was ever in danger.
Eno. I'm coming!
Pathetic. They were utterly pathetic.
The dark armored being strode his way carelessly through, watching with disdain. His own killing tool swiped through more of the dogs, carving into their flesh. Sensing an approach from behind him, he casually raised his hand behind and heard the satisfying sound of one of them choking, before he tightened his hand, and through a crunch, he dropped the body without a second glance.
Images, he had seen, of suffering. He had concentrated, determined to see these images in full view. He could not, but it was clear. A loud, shrill cry of a child, as he attempted to cover his cries of torment, with a cruel disdain from the other voices as the child wept and begged, and then there was a gagging cry. He had made his way through the wilderness and bitter cold of the Ursus, and the voices and images became more clear, the crying and scream became more prominent, and rage filled his heart.
"Sasha… I don't want to go back there anymore… It hurts…! It hurts!"
Each one of these scum would die, as he drew his blade, an extension of his rage and hatred, bisecting the first fool as they took in his arrival. Spilling blood onto the earth, he glanced sidelong to see the entire town devolve into pandemonium the moment he split the first of his victims.
A few rushed at him, drawing their own flimsy tools to stave off the demon, but they would fall for their foolish bravery. With an outstretched hand, he blasted them backwards with an invisible force that sent them through the houses and smashed them into the earth. They did not rise again.
A part of him took amusement and joy to watch them die, to watch them flee, but he would not spare any of them. They would all perish. He would erase their repugnant existence from Terra.
Hurling his blade in an arc, he focused on the fleeing figures and the blade flew through the air and sliced them to bits as if a boomerang.
A number more of them attempted to hide, as the figure took ironic amusement at the cowardly showing they displayed now.
He made sure that the scum before him were the ones who caused the torment, the child whose presence he felt fear from. Tormentors came fleeing away from the dark demonic demon. For a moment, he let them gain a considerable distance away, then, reaching out, he took a hold of the sharpened jagged wooden materials used to construct the homes, he launched it at the moving dots in the distance. They fell and did not move.
With an outstretched hand, he crushed the buildings as they imploded on themselves, making sure that all those within vanquished alongside their supposed safe havens.
There were only a few presences left. Still a handful number left, who did not flee and instead hid away to a new hiding spot besides their homes. There were still a few who were hiding in them, but he would save them for last. If they had the sense, they would take the chance to escape, but their fear prevented them.
He was determined to reach the source of the pain and suffering first.
With quiet footsteps, he took a level of enjoyment at the destruction, walking through the carnage he had directly caused.
Sasha held his breath, lodged and stuck in his throat, freezing at the sight of the figure before him.
Who was that-!
Sasha could not move, barely able to gain the sense to hide himself away, peering through one of the narrow cracks of one of the shortcuts at the figure that stood.
The figure was covered from head to toe in black. He was a dark armored being, his own posture towering and oh so deadly. From his hands, he held a dark blade, a weapon of destruction in his hands, dripping with blood as he took deliberate slow steps through the destruction and death he had left behind. Sasha could not even see a hint of a face behind the mask, or any skin. The figure's armor was purposely meant to conceal him from danger but also from learning of his identity.
But the most starting from his appearance he took notice of, was his mask.
The mask was angular, but it wasn't like any of what Sasha had read in books about knights or warriors. Rounded from the top and curving down, Sasha could not make out the eyes from within, the eyes being nothing but the same dark lenses from its owner. From the mouth, it ended in a short snout of a gill. Coupled with a dark billowing cape behind him, the figure was as if he was a grim reaper. And through the carnage, there was only silence, and the loud breathing that came from him, only an exhale and inhale, that repeated, that all those remaining had heard.
Kurr-kuuh…
This was Death. And he had come for them all.
Sasha watched in his own fear, but his resolve still within him, knew what he had to do.
Eno… He had to get to Eno!
The being of Death turned his head and Sasha positioned himself behind, holding his breath. Counting to a minute, he cautiously peered through, the figure turning his head back.
If this being of Death had found them…
No. He had to find Eno first before Death came for them. They would escape and run.
But Sasha knew that if this figure of Death noticed him first, then his efforts would be for nothing. He would die, and Eno would not be protected. He would be at the mercy of Death himself.
Sasha turned and quietly departed, determined to find Eno.
The dark being turned his head, detecting a presence immediately. Unlike the other presences that was this revolting town, this one was not tainted. It was shades of dark, of hardship, through the emotions he could feel in this foreign presence, emotions of sorrow and grief and guilt and regret, but it was not the same one that he had felt that had fear consuming him. Reaching through, he feels the child's concern; a bond he feels, and he instantly recognizes it.
It was the same presence. He takes meaningful steps to the source of pain, and follows the presence of the child.
Eno curled up, hiding deeper into one of the hiding places.
S-sasha… Where are you? Please… I need you…
Did something terrible happen to Sasha?! No! Tears formed in Eno's eyes as he tried to wipe them away, to try and remain hopeful, but he could not. The horrible noises outside he heard through outside, and Eno wanted to hope, but they were so terrible and bad and he didn't want to hear it anymore. It was a sick joke, that it ended and stopped and started again before it was a cycle of torture.
Another scream and cry, and Eno shakes, looking through the entrance, hoping that it wasn't Sasha.
Sasha… Please… I-I need you…
He didn't care about anything anymore. He didn't want to feel scared or sad or lonely anymore. Another terrible noise and some terrible noises and shouts, and Eno didn't care about hiding anymore! All he wanted was Sasha, who he wanted next to him and made him feel better and made everything better. He didn't care about smiling, because how could he smile or laugh when Sasha was gone, and wasn't here. Sasha was the reason why he smiled and Sasha promised that they would always be together.
Eno just wanted to see Sasha. If there was something bad, then he did not want to face it alone. He wanted to face it with Sasha.
He begins to move out of the hiding place. Even if Sasha was upset, he didn't want to see Sasha gone. He wanted him to stay with him!
But before Eno could make an action, a voice called out.
"Eno! Eno! Where are you?! I'm here!"
"Sasha?! Sasha! I'm here!" Eno leaps out of his hiding place, and there was Sasha. Eno doesn't believe it, but he blinks and Sasha does not go away, and his legs are moving before he even thinks, and he is hugging Sasha.
Sasha was here. Sasha was here and that's all that mattered!
"S-sasha! You're here!" Relief came as Eno could no longer hold back his tears, crying as he buried himself into Sasha, refusing to let him go, believing that if he did he would vanish in his grasp again.
"I'm fine, Eno!" Sasha's hold is comforting and warm and safe and Eno's face is against his chest, hushed words of security and love. Sasha was here, and he would make him feel better. He would make everything better. "It's alright. I'm here. I told you, remember? I will always find you. I will never leave you, Eno."
That's what Sasha did. He made Eno feel much better. And Eno felt a lot better, even though he was still confused and scared. It will pass with time, that's what Sasha would tell him.
Sasha instead tells him this. "Eno. We need to go. We need to leave." Eno looks up. "We need to go. It's not safe here anymore."
"Sasha? What-what's going on? What's happening?" Sasha was serious. He looked… upset? But why? He was saying they should leave now?
Sasha looks back, and Eno's gaze follows. "S-sasha?! What happened?! What's happening?!"
Sasha stares into the burning houses, but he does not respond, and it just further confuses and scares Eno. "Sasha?" If Sasha was scared, then what could he do?!
Sasha looked back to him, and he was serious. "We need to go, Eno. We need to go. We need to leave."
"Why?" Eno was scared. Sasha wasn't answering what was going on. They should have to leave. Was Sasha also scared?! "Why? What's going on?"
"I… I don't know, Eno. But we have to go." For the first time, Eno saw Sasha scared, and he didn't know what to do. But Sasha couldn't be scared! He could never be! "It's not safe. We can't stay here anymore. It's too dangerous."
Sasha did not like lying. Especially to his Eno. He knew what was going on.
But Eno could not know. He did not want Eno to be more scared and upset. He could not explain why Death had come to purge this town. But they needed to escape death. They needed to.
Sasha had wanted to leave the town before but they did not. He didn't want to see Eno hurt anymore by his family, but they did not leave and Eno was more upset and sad now that it was his fault that he was more hurt and they didn't leave before.
Now Death had came for them, and it was because of him now that Sasha recognized his mistakes.
"Eno. We need to go. We need to run and get away from here as far as possible."
Eno was scared and confused, but despite so, he nodded, though in more of being scared rather than understanding. "O-okay… Where do we go? Where do we run to?"
Sasha opened his mouth. He didn't know. He didn't know where he or Eno could escape to, where to hide safely away. But anywhere, anywhere away from death was better. Anywhere away from this town, where it caused Eno suffering. "We just need to leave. We just need to go-"
But Sasha didn't get the chance to speak any further, for there was the loud breathing behind him and he froze in terror.
Kurr-kuhh…
Slowly, imperceptibly, he turned around.
Death stood there meters away, watching them. With him now far closer, Sasha could see the figure who had purged the terrible home utterly. Sasha felt fear in his heart hammering him as he was face to face with him. His killing took was still held in his hands as he watched them.
Sasha did not know what to do. He stood there, now coming for them. He did not know how he noticed him trying to get Eno. How did he?! Yet he did not know, and he was scared. Scared for Eno. Scared of what this man would do now to them.
"Sasha?" He turned to look, and Eno was terrified. A shift of movement, and Eno was behind him, burying his face into his chest so he could not see the devil before them. Sasha was scared himself, but barely managed to keep his gaze up at him.
There was no escape. They would die. Sasha recognized that. The cruelty of the world that was not fair to him, and more importantly, not fair to Eno. Eno was mistreated and it wasn't fair as Sasha felt helpless. The man would kill them both. He and Eno would die. It wasn't fair.
But Sasha realized that if he could at least direct Death's attention, then Eno could escape. At the very least, if Eno could get away from this monster, then it would be worth it. Eno had faced enough suffering from his father and family and he planned to make sure Eno did not need to suffer anymore.
Eno clutched onto him. "Eno. Listen to me. Eno!"
"Sasha?"
He peered into the terrified expression of Eno. "You need to get away."
"What?"
"You need to leave. Go. I'll divert his attention away from you, so you can go escape."
Eno's eyes widened. "No! You can't go! Sasha, you can't go! You can't face him!" He began to cry once more, terrified that Sasha would leave him and face the man alone who would undoubtedly kill him.
"Eno! You have to! He'll kill the both of us!" He shoved him behind him.
"No! I don't want to leave you! I don't want you to leave!" Eno turned his grief stricken face and Sasha felt his heart split as he gazed up at him. "You can't!"
"Eno, you have to! You have to go! He'll kill both of us! You can escape! Go and run!"
"No! If you're going to stay, then so am I! I can't leave you, Sasha! I just can't!"
It wasn't fair. Why did Sasha have to try and sacrifice himself?! Why did Sasha not understand that he couldn't live without him?! It was selfish but he didn't care. Sasha was his entire reason, the entire reason why he stayed for him. The entire reason why he couldn't leave.
If Sasha wasn't going to come with him, then he would stay with him. They would be together and always be together.
Death approached them, and Sasha shoved Eno away. "Eno! Go! Hurry!"
"No! I can't leave you! If you're staying, I'm going to as well!"
"Eno!" The man approached them closer, and Sasha commanded his body to pick up and throw Eno away so he could face the man, but he could not. Terror seized his heart, gripping it tightly. He felt Eno's grip on him as the dark armored giant strode over, looking down at them through the black tinted lenses of his mask. His breathing sounded through the empty field.
Sasha commanded every inch and cell of him to move, to do anything, to push Eno away to give ample time for Eno to run away, but he could not. All he could do was stare up at him, and await death. Eno did not flee and so both would die to Death this very moment now.
Sasha stared back up at the man; the reflective black armored being stared back down. Eno shook in terror behind him. His gaze turned to him, Sasha's heart gripped in fear and anger, and he instinctively raised a hand to push Eno's smaller frame behind his taller one.
The being looked back to him, the only acknowledgment of his defense of one of his prey. But he did not speak, his breathing simply filled the silence.
Then, he raised a hand.
The two flinched, ready for Death to claim them; Sasha opened his mouth to scream for Eno to run, as he could now see their deaths, for both would die.
But it did not come. Death did not raise his blade to strike them both. Instead, he curled it up into a pincer like motion with his hand, the other still holding his blade.
A cry of something; shouts and screams. And then, Sasha recognized them: laying on the floor, was Eno's father and his family.
As soon as Death raised his hand curling it, his eyes widened and bulged, immediately clutching at his throat, grasping and clawing what wasn't there as he hovered and dangled like a fish out of water. The lady, Sasha, immediately recognized the one who gave Eno Oripathy. She gagged and choked as well, and so did the rest of the people, Sasha recognized, as Eno's family. Both could do nothing but stare in terror, afraid they would be next.
"Child."
Death finally spoke, glancing at Eno. Sasha flinched at the tone and shoved Eno down, as if the sight of the monster before them was horrendous enough.
"Was it these scum you call family…" He hissed in the dark deep tone, and Sasha felt tremors form on his body as he shook, still unable to move. "Were the ones who mistreated you?"
Eno did not respond, unable to process the situation. But his father's eyes burst open and comes face to face with Eno himself.
"Y-you little shit! You rotten brat!" He spat out, even as Death held him suspended in the air. "You did this, didn't you?! You little piece of shit! I'm going to fucking kill you! I'm going to kill you! Go and fucking hide! I'll fuck-"
He didn't get any further chance. Death enclosed his hand once more, and the man began choking wildly, the invisible grip tightening.
"Shut up." Death hissed coldly. His face paled considerably when he turned his helmeted gaze to him. "You do not speak, scum. You do not have permission. Dare to interrupt and open your mouth again, and I'll remove your tongue." He turned his helmeted gaze to all of Eno's family, and they paled, lashing wildly in their invisible restraints.
Death turned back to the two, and Eno managed to meet his gaze, though Sasha did not stand down. "Tell me, boy. What have these scum you call 'family' done to you?"
Eno gazed up uncomprehendingly at the man, gazing from Sasha's back. His eyes flickered back and forth between his family and the man. But he was far too terrified to respond.
Sasha noticed Eno's terrified gaze. "I-it's none of your business! Why do you care?!" For the first time, he found his voice and spoke up, diverting the attention away from Eno.
The being acknowledged him with a mere tilt of his head.
"Y-you heard him! W-we haven't done anything! Now get lost! We have done nothing wrong! You attacked us in our homes, you sick monster! You're the one who did something! Not us!" The lady, Sasha recognized, screaming out to him. And he knew what was about to happen next.
There was nothing, then the being turned his dark gaze back to the woman. "I warned you." With a screech, the woman flew to the outstretched grip of the being.
With a secure grasp on her meaty throat, the being sneered. The woman thrashed wildly, and the being scoffed, stretching out his hand. Suddenly, the woman's violent attempts to escape ended, frozen in place by the same unknown force, and she screamed and cursed. The dark being drew his blade close to the woman's face and then pried her mouth open. Sasha shut his eyes for what was to come, and then raised both his hands to cover Eno's ears.
She screamed.
A horrible sound that mixed with gargles and chokes and it was so terrible, the ripping of flesh and for a moment, Sasha opened his eyes to see blood spraying, then shut it immediately afterwards.
A gargling cry as the woman wept that seemed to last for an eternity, then just sobs.
Terror was what Sasha found when he reopened them. A chunk of the woman's tongue lay out, the pink organic flesh flopping uselessly as it was no longer connected to its owner. The woman thrashed wildly as she sobbed, smearing her blood that ran dripping like a faucet through her hands.
The dark being watched, amusement rolling off him in waves, shrugging as if he didn't perform a horrendous deed. Some of the woman's blood was splattered on his armor, but he didn't care, instead, turning back to the quivering family.
"Very well. Tell me what you have done to your own flesh and blood in full detail. My patience is running thin." He directed the question to Eno's father.
"W-why should we?! Y-you'll kill us anyway!"
The dark being chuckled, and every individual besides the figure flinched. "Oh indeed. But if you were willing then it would have been a lot easier on you." He shook his head. "No matter. It makes no difference for me. I have other ways of procuring such information."
"W-what are you-Argh!" Eno's father screamed as he shook violently once more.
The being plunged through the head of the man, tossing aside and discarding irrelevant information of his personal life as if it was trash. He ruthlessly dove into the man's memories, ripping them out of his head. Then he came into view of the man's deeds.
He saw the beatings the boy was forced to endure. The boy had his nose broken one time as his face was bashed against the tabletop of his own home by the same man. The boy had also been tripped, and his balance disrupted, chipping his tooth. Then the beatings continued; marks of all kinds appeared on the boy's body. At one point, the boy was tossed out of his home for arriving late at home, forced to flee to the other boy. Starvation was another matter, as the boy was not even given meals, and became very thin. The boy was forced to drink tap water and eat trash.
Then through the mental images he forced himself to watch, with sickening curiosity, he stopped at one.
His father was drunk. He could see it as the little LMD he had was wasted on alcohol. The boy came back home late, and then the pathetic excuse of a father screamed at him. He smashed the empty bottle against the boy's head as the pale boy fell, crying and begging. It took everything in the being not to cut down the scum, only recognizing that it was a memory.
But then he froze at the image of what happened next.
The boy sobbed and pleaded, and then the man began to undo the belt buckle around his pants. No… He couldn't.
The boy began crying and screaming before he held the boy down and then the dark being could do nothing but watch, as the man then pulled the boy's shorts down and then the screaming filled his ears as he could only watch in terror. Then, he flipped the boy around, forcing his own member down the boy's throat and the being finally snapped out of the trance and the nightmare he had witnessed. The image ended as he forcefully dispelled them from his thoughts, purging them entirely. The last words he had heard, as the father was finished, proceeding to leave, with only the sobs of the child he had finished himself onto, crying himself to sleep on the floor.
"Sasha… I don't want to go back there anymore… It hurts…! It hurts!"
The last of the images receded away as he was brought back to the present.
Then, fury and rage consumed him. An all encompassing inferno consumed him utterly. It took him so completely that he could barely even think anymore.
His hand gripping the man tightly, he spoke, no longer hiding his disgust and rage, barely able to face the disgusting slime. "Congratulations, you get a quick death, far less fitting than what you deserved."
The man's eyes bulged as he flailed in terror, but he ended his struggles immediately. Tightening into a fist, a loud crack as he snapped the man's throat, and dropped his corpse. The rest of his pathetic family followed; he broke their necks and carved them to pieces as they screamed. A pool of blood and the stench of iron rapidly spread and assailed their senses.
He saved the woman for last, turning to her who still stared up at him in her fear stricken face, fat tears rolling down her cheeks.
Leaning down towards her, he spoke, chuckling in a low tone. "Luckily for you, since you were responsible for the boy's Oripathy, you get a special gift in return." He drew his sheathed blade once more.
The woman immediately recognized what he was about to do and so did Sasha and Eno, but all they could do was stare at the devil who had erased the town and Eno's family. Both were witnesses to the brutality that lied before them, and they could do nothing but watch.
Prying the woman's bloody mouth open once more, he positioned his blade once more at the entrance of it. He did recognize the innuendo of the situation, and couldn't help but laugh. "So, as you did to the boy: Swallow."
The woman scrambled wildly, and he froze her in place, all except her head, looking like a bobbing pin as she screamed.
"Swallow or I'll force it down your throat." The woman screamed once more, and he then froze her head in place, locking it with the invisible force. With sadistic amusement, he spoke once more. "Fine then. Enjoy."
He fed her his entire blade as it cut apart and sliced through her entire body. She was already dead the moment it tore through her body as she choked and sprayed blood everywhere. Sasha and Eno covered their eyes from the sight as the woman screamed, choked, and the ripping of flesh and bone. The devil rammed and pushed his blade through fat and bone through her entire body as she took his entire length from the tip.
Then a final sound of ripping flesh and bone, and Sasha removed his eyes from the sight of the woman with a single quick glance. He emptied what remained of his stomach onto the floor at the sight before him, having just the sense to cover Eno's eyes to prevent him from seeing it himself. Then he was heaving, turning away as he simultaneously pushed Eno away.
The footsteps approached once more, and Sasha looked up to see the dark being once more. Fear and terror flooded his heart once more. Eno whimpered and held him tightly.
"Are you two alright?"
The owner, the devil, Death himself spoke gently. It was such a stark contrast to what he had just done earlier.
They did not trust him, and it seemed he sensed what they were thinking. "Don't be afraid. I won't hurt you."
"You killed them." Sasha stated. He did not know what else to say. He did not forgive them, but the devil before them had killed them brutally and he did not believe that the man had altruistic intentions for them in mind.
Their gazes pierced through with distrust and fear. He could feel it. They were terrified of him.
He supposed it was time now to remove his mask.
Adjusting and fiddling with the helmet, he unclasped it, kneeling down to their level.
Sasha and Eno saw the man raising both his hands, as he began to remove his mask. A hissing sound as the mask was removed. The face of the grim reaper was revealed to them. In place was a young man, much older than him or Eno, with stark white hair, similar to the Ursus lands. His eyes were a piercing sky blue, radiating warmth and kindness.
It could not be the devil. He could not be the man behind Death's mask, but he was. Eno looks at him from behind with a bit of curiosity. Sasha was still hesitant, sure that the man before him was putting on another mask that hid malicious intent.
"I'm Anakin." The man speaks softly. He reaches out with a hand. "Anakin Artorious. What's your name?" He directs the question to Sasha first. The dark being, now Anakin, already knew through stifling through the memories of the… father, but he wanted to be polite to them, and give them trust.
Sasha still did not trust him. He could not. After the man had massacred and butchered the entire town, how could he? How could he trust anyone after Eno's own family treated him?
But as he reached out for Eno, he did not feel him, and Sasha watched as Eno took a cautionary step forward. His mouth opened to cry out for Eno, but Eno took the hand, gazing up at the man. "I'm… I'm Eno."
"E-eno!" Sasha took a few steps forward to bring Eno back, but Eno met his gaze. It was still hesitant, and still cautious, and there was still fear, but there was also another emotion held in his gaze: Confidence.
"S-sasha… I think… I think we can trust him!"
Sasha disagreed. There was no way. Many people they had tried to trust betrayed it. He had learned that it was just him and Eno. No one else would willingly give it. They had given it to people before, and it had made them suspicious of intentions.
"Eno! We don't know him!"
"B-but he can help us, Sasha! I know he can!"
"How?! Why?! He just… he just killed everyone!" Even if Eno was safe from his family now, it didn't mean that they were safe from this man, who they didn't know at all. Who could just be as bad if not worse than Eno's family.
"I… I know! But please, Sasha! He seems like he wants to help us! Can we just trust him?!"
No. Sasha wasn't going to risk Eno for that. "How… How do you know he won't be like them, Eno? How do you know?"
Eno froze. He didn't. Sasha was right. Many people he thought would help them turned out to be the opposite, leaving him and Sasha to fend for themselves. He didn't know if this man was faking a genuine concern for him or Sasha, and he wanted to believe otherwise. But he couldn't. For all he knew, the man could be bad.
But as he gazed back into Sasha's eyes, for the first time, Eno wanted to believe. Though he was scared, the man had questioned his father and his family about what they did, and from the presence of the man, he was furious. He was mad, and Eno wanted to believe that the man was good, for he helped him and Sasha.
Sasha was torn. But Eno's eyes still shone with confidence and a plea, if not to trust the man Anakin, then at least trust him.
And so, Sasha decided. He would trust Eno's decision, but not the man. And he knew it. Both he and Eno had nowhere to go.
"I… Okay." Sasha gazes up at the man, deciding to place his trust in a stranger for the first time since years. "I am Sasha. That's Eno."
The man smiles. "Anakin." Gesturing behind him, he asks. "Are both of you hungry?"
Eno nods, but Sasha remains silent. "I have some food back at my camp. It's a bit out of the town here."
Eno glances at Sasha, and with extreme reluctance, Sasha nods in acceptance. Eno approaches the man, but freezes at the sight of his father's body. Swiping his armored hand over his eyes, Anakin instructs him. "Don't look, okay?" He glances at Sasha and Sasha takes Eno's other hand, squeezing it tightly.
Together, the three made their way from the burning, bloody massacre that used to be their home, and out of it, leaving behind the carnage.
I love Mephisto and Faust, and they deserve better so Anakin adopts them. Probably might make a one shot about them because they deserve a better fate.
This chapter was also an excuse just for Anakin to kill the POS's excuse that is Mephisto's family instead of Mephisto because fuck them. Hope it was cathartic for Mephisto/Faust fans like myself to see the former's "family" die as well as I had as much writing this.
Also, Mephisto/Faust for life.
Alternative chapter title: Anakin becomes Vader and goes on a rampage through Mephisto's dogshit home, adopts Mephisto and Faust as a Chad older brother, and gives them a better life.
