Hina, Iori, Hikari, Ken, Miyako, and Miyuki sat around the kitchen table as two boxes were on the table.

Opening the box, it was full of pictures.

Hina pulled one out first, "awe, who is this cute baby?"

Hikari giggled as Hina put the picture down revealing a small child with brown hair. "That was me."

Each person took out a picture at their own pace. Miyuki pulled out one and blinked, "Mommy, what are these?" As she did, they were images of Tyrannomon.

"Those are Digimon," Hikari smiled as Miyuki's eyes became starry. Admiring the photos.

"These are the cool Digimon! Wow!" Miyuki happily cheered, "you and uncle Taichi-san helped and played with Digimon, right?"

Hikari nodded before Miyako added, "and sometimes we fought against them." Hikari gave a stern, concerned look.

"Cool!" Miyuki said, "They look scary. You're so brave, mommy."

Hikari smiled before Hina hummed, "if I remember correctly. You guys saved the world, right?"

Hikari nodded, "yes we did," and suddenly her smile dropped a bit when she remembered Daisuke standing tall against BelialVamdemon. "We did…"

Hina smirked, "Iori-san doesn't tell me too much about it. Original Twelve is what you guys were called in online forums from what I remembered."

Miyuki nodded, "yes, it was mommy, Uncle Taichi-san, Auntie Sora-san, Mimi-san, Koushiro-san, Doctor-san…"

"Jyou-san…" Hikari corrected.

"Yamato-san, Takeru-san, Miyako-san…"

"Auntie Miyako-san…." Miyako wanted to correct it.

"Ken-san…." Miyuki blinked looking at her hands that were counting. "That's eleven."

Hikari was speechless, "well, the twelfth member…." she looked over at Miyako who was also becoming anxious. "He left after we beat the bad Digimon…" Hikari rubbed her arm.

Miyuki blinked, "what was his name?"

Hikari gulped. Hina was very confused. Miyako was glancing at Ken who was trying to not say anything. Iori was also anxious at this point. "Daisuke-san…"

"Daisuke-san," Miyuki said softly. Hina rubbed her chin upon hearing that name. Wondering where she heard the name from. "What did he look like? Was he cool?"

Hikari was speechless once again.

Ken finally interjected. "He saved the world. He was not that tall, but as tall as me when I was his age."

Miyuki was slightly amazed at the prospect of Daisuke. As for Hina, she finally realized where she heard 'Daisuke' from. But at that moment, Iori grabbed her hand. "If you would excuse us, I need to tell something to Hina-san about school."

"Uh, what?" Hina said as Iori tugged on her arm. She still followed as the others watched the two teens head to the patio.

Iori closed the door behind him and sighed, "Daisuke-san?" Hina asked, "like, the one that left? The bad memory?"

Iori looked over before glancing back at Miyuki looking at more photos. "He is her father. Daisuke is Miyuki's father, but about five years ago, he left without a trace. He left behind Hikari-san when she was pregnant." Hina was still, "he might have saved the world, but he is a bad memory. Maybe not to all of us, but to those of us who cared for Hikari-san and him."

Hina faced down, "sorry, I-I didn't know…"

Iori pat her shoulder, "you didn't know. I don't care if you mention him. Just know that Hikari-san is doing as much as she can to forget about him."

Hina giggled, "yeah, I mean I would if you left me with a child…"

Iori raised a brow, "you don't have to worry about that. I'll take responsibility if we ever have a child." Iori opened the patio door to enter. He realized what he said as his face went red. Not wanting to turn around since he knew Hina's face was also red.

Hina was red, she let the cool air cool her off. Looking out to the city and wondering about this Daisuke a bit more. How could someone who saved the world do something horrible?

"Because you left!" A drunk Mimi said angrily at Daisuke who was carrying a resting Genki. She fake sobbed, "you were supposed to be at my wedding. You could have been Makino's best man."

"I doubt it…" Yamato said as a sleeping drunk Jun leaned on his arm.

Daisuke smiled nervously, "I only asked why she wanted to hold Genki-san…" he turned to everyone.

"She gets like this when she's drunk. She blames you for everything," Koushiro rubbed his temples before looking at his wife, Karen, being drunk.

"You don't love me," Karen huffed.

"Sadly, Mimi's attitude when drunk isn't the worst."

Daisuke heard Genki grumble and started to rock him, "where's Erina-san?"

Yamato, with Jun sleeping on his lap, replied, "she's picking up Jyou-san from the hospital. Just enjoy this silence, it's as good as it gets in this situation."

"I hate all of you!" Mimi let out as the three Chosen Children tilted their heads in confusion.

Koushiro held onto his wife and laid her slowly onto the couch. He walked over to Daisuke and said, "here, you've been carrying Genki-san for hours, you must be exhausted."

Daisuke blinked, "no, I'm fine, really."

Koushiro leaned down and took Genki slowly, "come now, you can't tire yourself just because you left."

Daisuke's eyes stared sadly, Koushiro staring in shock. "I'm a bit buzzed, but I can care for Genki-san," Koushiro, flustered, walked away.

Daisuke sadly looked down before his eyes caught a glance of Mimi looking over at him.

They both looked at each other before Mimi broke the ice. "You left. Why?"

Daisuke was stunned once again. Mimi was drunk, but her serious eye made him anxious. He took a deep breath, "well, I can't say…" he bit his lower lip before seeing something in his peripherals. He turned quickly to see Mimi's hand come slowly and pinch his cheeks lightly.

"I can read people's emotions like the description is plastered on their forehead. And yours says 'honest liar'. You're being honest, but you want to lie."

Daisuke looked to the side, "Mimi-san," he smiled, "I will one day tell you where I went."

Mimi's light harmless pinch became tighter, "don't fake smile. I never liked that from you." She let go of his cheek and got up, "you did it so much back then, it got annoying." She grumbled and walked off to the kitchen.

As Mimi left for the kitchen, Daisuke could only put his head down. Yamato stared in silence before petting Jun's head. Karen hummed, "told you…"

Mimi arrived at the kitchen and rubbed her eyes. "Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry."

Suddenly a voice appeared, "crying actually benefits stress inducing pains. It's the screaming and panicking that's bad. Not bad to cry."

Mimi clenched her fist and wanted to say something, but saw Genki. "I don't think I can do it. I don't think I can like him."

Koushiro chuckled, "the drunk you are saying that. You were fine sober."

"Was I? I was about to slap him before Erina got in the way. The only reason… the only reason I can't… It's complicated. Okay."

Koushiro smiled slowly, "what's complicated."

"How badly I wanted this! This!" She gripped onto the chair. "This is everything I ever wanted. Daisuke-san is back. All of us had a good time. I dreamed about this and it is going how I wanted, but I wanted this… long ago." Mimi shed a tear. "It's all coming back to me." She tried not to sob. "The depression I felt when everything was so bad."

Koushiro smiled, "I get what you mean. It wasn't a good time. It felt like our friendship was falling apart."

"But now he's back and it isn't. It isn't. I even thought to myself that maybe Hikari-san shouldn't be mad at him. I even went that far with my thoughts."

Koushiro rocked Genki, "why is that bad?"

Mimi wiped her eyes, "cause I thought I wasn't going to be on his side. I thought I was going to hate him. I thought… I thought… I thought…" she broke into light sobs.

Koushiro walked over and patted her head. Her eyes widened, "Mimi-san."

Mimi sobs calmed down.

"You have been this way. Honest. You were always honest. I get it too. I thought I was going to hate him. But it's hard when he's nothing, but proper and caring."

Mimi bit her lip for a bit, "when he faked a smile, I saw pain in his eyes for the first time. He didn't even fake a smile like he did before. But I wanted it to be that way. I made it that way cause inside I'm still so angry that he left."

Koushiro rubbed her head and smirked, "you can't like him because you love him. As a friend of course, but you always have loved us all. Remember your wedding vowels, when you told Makino-san how he will be part of the Chosen Children. You talked a lot about us as if we were truly family."

Mimi nodded, "I remember. He never said a thing, but I was worried that I didn't talk much about him."

Koushiro nodded, "but he was happy. Because he knew you were happy. And that's all that matters here. Look, I know you tried your best with Hikari-san in the past for years. I know you did all you could. But you are you. Don't lie to yourself for them. Be honest."

Mimi smiled, "I think Daisuke-san is sweet."

Meanwhile in the living room. Daisuke sat silently as Yamato hummed. "So, as your brother-in-law. Can you tell me why you left?"

Daisuke shook a bit, "I didn't leave…"

"Oh," Yamato raised a brow. "Okay, I guess…"

Hikari went to the fridge to get a glass of juice from Miyako's request.

Everyone else was still looking at the pictures. Hina grabbed one, "oh, this is Taichi-san in his youth, his hair…" she giggled as everyone else joined in too. But around the table, Miyuki was not found.

Miyako took note, "where's…?"

"Lookie what I found!" Miyuki popped up with a black box. "It has more photos, it was hiding in the closet!"

Hikari noticed immediately as she gasped, "Miyuki, that's…" but she accidentally dropped the jug of juice. As everyone was confused from the panic of Hikari, Miyuki opened the box.

Ken then realized what it was, "Miyuki-san!" And then she pulled a picture out.

"Never seen this one before," Miyuki smiled.

Inside the black box were full clear pictures that had Daisuke.

Miyuki blinked, "who is this?"

Hina, still confused, glanced as her eyes widened.

Miyuki held up a picture of the Original Twelve Chosen Children, all smiling for a group photo. Miyuki pointed at the smiling Daisuke in the center with Ken. "Is this Daisuke-san?"

Hikari put some napkins down before walking over, "Miyuki…" she gulped. She stopped in her tracks. Sweating nervously and her fist clenched. As she saw, Miyuki was almost fascinated by the picture with Daisuke.

"That's Daisuke-san," Ken interjected. This made everyone, but Miyuki look in shock. Ken moved his seat closer to Miyuki. "He was my best friend."

Miyuki put the photo down before seeing Ken and Daisuke in their soccer uniform. "You two were in soccer?"

Ken nodded, "yeah, sort of," he sighed, "I was into soccer until Daisuke left. But I was better than him for a good while. He did have a knack for almost beating me."

Miyuki smiled softly, "I like his goggles…" She grabbed a photo of Daisuke with Miyako and Iori.

Both Miyako and Iori smiled sadly, but then quickly glanced to the side.

Hikari's fist shook before she knelt down, "Miyuki, I think a hat would suit you better."

Miyuki shook her head, "I don't want to look like Takeru-san! I want goggles!"

Hikari had a horrified face. She stood up, shocking her young daughter. Before walking towards the kitchen to clean up the mess.

Miyako looked at the confused Miyuki and then at Hikari cleaning. She put her hand over Miyuki's, "let's take a look at these photos of Daisuke-san another day. It's getting a bit late."

Miyuki grumbled, "but I was having fun." But quickly the girl gave in, "okay, I can wait another day." She quickly cheered up, "Daisuke-san looks so cool, I hope I get to meet him."

Hikari flinched once.

Miyako noticed as she leaned towards Ken, "put Miyuki-san to bed if you can…" Ken nodded.

Iori got up, "well I think we need to go. It is getting late, so we'll take the bus." Hina, silently, got up. "See you guys," Iori awkwardly waved.

As the two teens were making their exit, Ken asked Miyuki, "want me to tell you a bedtime story?"

Miyuki jumped up in joy and nodded happily. She quickly ran to her room. Ken looked over and his wife. They both nodded as Ken went to make sure Miyuki would go to bed.

And like that, Miyako was now alone in the kitchen with her best friend. Her best friend is cleaning the floor that has been cleaned already. "I don't get it!" Hikari said once she realized her daughter was around. "I did everything to make sure he wouldn't have an influence. But every damn time... It doesn't work!"

"Calm yourself Hikari-san, you're gonna make a scene."

Hikari slouched down, "what do I do? I am seeing him in her and he isn't even around. She loves soccer, she loves goggles… She's everything like him. She is even starting to talk like him." She clenched her fist tightly, "she got one look at Daisuke-san. And admired him."

Miyako walked over and leaned back on the counter, "those pictures, why do you have them? If you kept them around, it was inevitable Miyuki would find them…" Hikari was silent, "were you hoping he would return."

Hikari got up, "No!" She grit her teeth, "he would never win my heart back. He's never coming back! I accepted that a long time ago!" Miyako frowned, "I wanted to give them to Daisuke-san's family. I just never got around to it."

Hikari and Miyako both looked each other in the eye. Hikari looked to the side, "I gotta go to the bathroom…"

And when Hikari passed Miyako, the inheritor of Love and Sincerity mumbled, "liar." Miyako put her hand over her pregnant belly. Walking back to the table and sitting. Seeing the black box full of Daisuke photos. She took one out, it was Daisuke playing video games with Ken.

Miyako sighed, "you were the worst at lying, Daisuke-san."

Outside and a distance away, Hina and Iori waited by a bus stop. Hina took a deep sigh, "Iori-san… I saw Daisuke-san…"

And the snow fell through the dark night.
