Faith slid over the window and into a bedroom, a small room, the floor was of hardwood, the walls yellow with mustard stripes, a wardrobe on the left side of the room, a double bed sat on the right, and two side tables on both ends. One of the side tables had a picture frame, Faith walked over to inspect It. She saw two kids, one looked maybe four maybe even six the other was about ten years old they both wore navy blue shorts with yellow shirts with the inscription "SleeP." Faith was cut from her thoughts when she heard a loud thump she turned and saw Bruce's faceplant on the floor, he quickly pushed himself up acting as if nothing had happened, and she let out a small giggle.
"What are you laughing at?" He hissed with an insulted look.
"Oh, nothing, just your inability to vault windows," Faith replied cracking up at her own joke.
Bruce stormed off dramatically into the other room, Faith internally cracked up, who knew people falling was that funny? Faith started to search through the side table draws, scavenging through she only found old document papers, a couple bags of chips, and candy wrappers. Rather useless things. Faith moved her focus to the wardrobe she opened it to see all the clothes gone, except a yellow and blue flannel, on the right side and a red tee on the other, Faith looked around there but saw nothing. She finally searched the bed, she removed the covers. Empty, she checked under the pillows. Empty, she checked under the bed. Empty.
Faith eventually left the bedroom and entered a small hallway opposite the bedroom was a closet, to the left was the bathroom, and to the right, a small room smaller than the one Faith came out of, she saw a little oak table not too big sitting on the right side of the hallway, on it sat a vase a yellow one with what remained of flowers, they were all crispy, withered black. She walked over and softly ran her fingers along the petals that still remained on the stem, the petals crackled and fell with her touch.
Faith entered the second bedroom, this one had the same yellow walls, just that it was a bit more run down, the wallpaper peeling off exposing the drywall. The right corner had a bed slumped against the wall and a single side table to its left, on the left corner there was a wardrobe and a small study table next to it, the room seemed rather lifeless. Faith scavenged through the drawers, closet and bed but the most she got out of it was a couple of dirty shirts, a pack of gum and paper.
Faith left the room and entered the living and kitchen room, they were right next to each other. It was a living-dining space, Faith saw Bruce slumped on the couch looking at the Tv, the screen just flickered and buzzed, Bruce got up and searched the table that the Tv sat on he pulled out paperwork and other useless things, he did eventually pull out a bag of chips but other than that he got nothing of use. The two moved towards the kitchen which was very basic, with a countertop surrounding the left side of the wall and then curving right. The wall side had a cooktop to its right was a sink and towards the curve was a knife set and a microwave. Overhead the counter there was a load of cabinets from the start of the countertop and to the end, both above and below.
Both Bruce and Faith began rummaging through the cabinets trying to pull out anything worth a while. They pulled out a load of potato chips, chocolate cookies, and jars of jam or tomato paste. 'Whoever lived here ate a lot of junk food,' Faith thought to herself, eventually, they ended up with six bags of chips, two packs of chocolate cookies, and four bottles of tomato paste, they did find more chips and cookies but they were expired. They realised that most things were taken beforehand hence why there were so many junk foods and not many canned goods, which means the owners left in a hurry and shouldn't be coming back anytime soon.
"Let's go load these in the van and head off to the garage," Bruce suggested picking up the six bags of chips and the cookies at once, Faith followed behind closely stuffing all the jars on top of her jersey like a sling, they hastily went over to that van which was nearly full, they searched for boxes with extra room and stuffed the items in them. Once they finished they went around to the garage, to their surprise the door was wide open, and Joe and Mary were both scavenging around.
"Anything of use?" Bruce asked as he and Faith entered the fairly big garage. The back and right sides were lined with shelves and on the shelves were car parts. There were things like engines, tires, gears, fuel and much more stashed away.
"Honestly this stuff will be dope to take back we could pimp out some of the cars and brand them as 'resistance vehicles'"
"Take most of the fuel and maybe take extra carparts if you guys really want them" Bruce replied.
They all loaded the van with 3 tanks of fuel they didn't add extra car parts since they would be useless and take up space. Faith and Bruce left the garage and went towards the small hut the door was open, and the small hut turned out not so small, it was about the size of the small bedroom in the house. The hut was more of a man cave than anything there were rifles hung on the left wall the centre contained a pool table and on the right wall was josephs picture attached to a dartboard there were darts piercing through his eyes and nose. There was a big couch opposite the door and a TV on a table in front of it.
Both started to walk around the room trying to find things of use the only useful thing was the 8 rifles displayed on the walls both grabbed four each and walked outside, the sun was slowly setting the sky was now amber, they stashed away the guns and walked towards Joe and Mary who were still in the garage looking at the carparts.
"Anything new?" Bruce asked walking in
"Nah not really," Joe replied "though I think we're ready to head off now" his gaze towards Bruce.
"Should we hit the road now or tomorrow?" Bruce asked glaring around the room.
"Tomorrow" everyone collectively replied.
"Alright I guess we set base for the night then," Bruce said before heading off towards the van Faith followed him.
They opened the back door and pulled out 4 cans, two were soup and the other two were baked beans. They then made their way toward the cabin, Joe and Mary were sitting by the couch talking they both stared at Bruce and Faith.
"What's up doc?" Joe said eyeing the cans.
"We got soup and beans.' Bruce replied holding up his cans.
Bruce and Faith made their way towards the kitchen Joe and Mary followed close behind, "What flavour soup?" Mary asked.
"Pumpkin," Faith replied showing Mary the cans.
"Dang wish it was tomato soup," Mary frowned slightly
"Tomato soup sounds bad."
"Bad? Girl you mad, tomato soups are the best kind of soup out there,"
"Nah, no way chicken soup is superior you can't change my mind," Faith said placing the cans down.
"Chicken soup? you make me sick who even likes that stuff," Mary declared, fishing out a saucepan and placing it on the cooktop.
"I'll make you chicken soup myself and we'll see about it," Faith opened the cans and poured them into the saucepan.
"Cook-off? We're on then, I'll cook the best tomato soup that you'd be coming back for more." Mary turned the heat to medium. Faith heard faint laughter from behind, and both she and Mary turned to see Bruce and Joe mocking them and chattering with each other, Mary walked over and gave Bruce a light punch and Joe a hard punch on their shoulders. "Shows over get to work," Mary said sternly.
"Sorry, but it's amusing seeing you two get riled up on soup," Joe responded still chortling at the situation.
"Well shut up and help out," Mary said before turning around to Faith, "Men am I right?" the two chuckled at the joke until Bruce showed up and placed a small frying pan next to the saucepan, the frying pan was so small it looked like the beans were about to spill from the sides, Bruce also set his heat to medium and walked away. The saucepan started to bubble and started to froth, Faith lowered the heat and left it for a minute before turning off the cooktop, once the soup was warmed the contents were evenly distributed into the four Bowles, and once the beans had finished they too were distributed.
Once Faith and Mary had their share they both walked over to the living area, "So once this is all over what's your plan?" Mary asked Faith.
"Huh?" Faith muttered, "Oh, um I really haven't thought about the long term you know, I've just imagined myself with the cult maybe dying there, well until Ari existed then I thought I'd die with him, but then you guys came along and I guess now I have some sort of purpose." Faith replied taking a swig of her soup.
"That doesn't answer my question, I want to know what you'd do if you were free," Mary said stuffing her mouth with a spoonful of beans.
"I'm not too sure, but I do know I'd want to focus on my career," Faith answered.
"So you'd stay in Hope County forever?"
"Probably, unless there's an external factor"
"External factor? elaborate," Mary leaned in.
"Nope, that's for you to figure out," Faith answered finishing the last of her beans, before getting up and walking her plate to the kitchen.
Mary followed close behind, "C'mon, it's not that deep you can tell me."
"Well, I don't know if I should really trust anyone" Faith replied placing her plate in the sink.
"You can trust me I swear I won't tell anyone, swear on the widow maker."
"Fine, the external factor is-"
An hour passed, and everyone began to settle into the cabin, Joe and Bruce were outside, the sky was now darkening the clouds a dark grey and a slight hint of amber breaking through. Joe and Bruce were sitting on the small dock. "Aye, so after this mission where to?" Joe asked throwing a pebble into the shallow water.
"I don't know. Yet. But I assure you we will go back to Falls End once this is all over."
"So, like before or after beating the Father?"
"Before. We're gonna get Jacob before anyone, can't have him coming out of anywhere with his 50. Cal, and drugged-up wolves."
"Imagine Jacob is waiting for us back in the prison."
"Could be, the defence there is kinda messed up," Bruce answered, rubbing his hands together.
"Damn, I just wanna fly a plane man, a joyride, one of those multi-engine turboprops you feel me?" Joe threw another rock this time with more force.
"Something like a De Havilland Mosquito?"
"Nah, the mosquito is decent but something like the Foke Wulf 200, I love me German technologies more than the British, unless we talk about Spitfires and Hurricanes."
"Yeah, yeah ancient tech was cool but my man the F16 Falcon is a beauty, the canopy and well the whole damn thing."
"No, no that's not a fair comparison one is outdated and the other is fairly new" Joe contested.
"That doesn't matter if it flies they're on an even playing field like the P-51 Mustang was outdated against the Me-262's but they still managed to shoot some down."
"Well, Bruce your making no sense, both planes were introduced around the same time period, and the Germans introduced a fifth-gen fighter whilst the Americans introduced a fourth-gen."
"I would like to go deeper into this argument, but for now let's agree to disagree it's nearly pitch black out here."
"Fine, for now, but just so you know older planes are just better."
The two snarked at each other before entering the house, it was rather cosey in there compared to outside, Faith and Mary were nowhere to be seen so the two assumed they went to sleep. "I shall sleep on the couch then amigo," Bruce said laying on the couch.
"Alright, you want a blanket or something? I can find you one." Joe asked
"Nah, I sleep better when I'm cold."
"You do you," Joe said walking away, he peeked through the small room and saw Faith asleep on the bed, so Joe made his way to the other bedroom, to see Mary sitting on the edge of the bed wide awake, in thought. "What's up doc?"
"Nothing much, just hoping the people back at Falls End are doing good, same with the people at the prison," Mary replied glaring up at Joe.
"Yeah, I miss everyone back home, especially Nick we were the aces of Montana and still are," Joe said with a reminiscent smile.
"You two really loved planes I would always hear the two of you arguing about what plane is better, or who shot down more enemies."
"Oh, yeah I remember those times and you got mad since we forgot you existed in those moments."
"Yeah, it was rude of you guys to show up at the Eagle rambling on about planes without ordering a drink or saying hi."
"Well sorry, but that happened ages ago."
"It happened literally three weeks ago." Mary snapped back
"Oh, that's still like a hundred days ago."
"Twenty-one actually" Mary corrected
"Shut up we both know math isn't my forte, hence why I failed math class."
Mary's face lightened up a bit as she giggled at Joe, "Scuse me, but that's not a laughing matter" Joe said sarcastically as he charged Mary, pushing her on her back, Mary tried to push Joe off her, but he overpowered her, "haha you're stuck in my arms now." Joe said rolling to the right and wrapping his arms around Mary.
"Yeah, and once I'm unstuck I'm gonna sock you on the noes" Mary threatened
"More reason to hold onto you" Joe replied squeezing her harder.
"Really, then what if I roll off the bed"
"That won't do much, I'll still be holding you harder than gorilla glue does hair."
"Challenge accepted," Mary replied rolling to the left causing both herself and Joe to fall off the bed, they landed with a loud thud. "Maybe rolling off the bed wasn't the best idea we might have woken up Bruce and Faith," Mary said giggling.
"Yeah, and I'm still holding onto you, meaning you failed the challenge."
"Well, actually I never said I wanted you to let go I just threatened to roll off the bed."
"Oh, I can't reply to that. So I'll tickle you instead." Joe said loosening his grip and tickling Mary's ribs. She attempted to roll away from Joe but he once again tightened his grip, "Where do you think you're going." He smirked squeezing Mary tighter and pulling her onto his chest. "If I can't tickle you, I'll give you a bear hug instead."
"Yeah, this is better than tickles," Mary replied, wrapping her arms around Joe. The two lay there silent, Joe could feel Mary's warmth in his arms it gave him a sense of comfort he felt his worries melt away, and his body and mind ease into bliss. He wanted to remain in that position for eternity, he wanted to stay with Mary for eternity. His feelings for her are different to how he's felt with any other girl, Mary isn't a narcissist and actually wants to help her community, or just help out in general. Joe felt grateful that she accepted his request to go to the Henbane. Hell, he's grateful that she's his and no one elses.
"Hey, Mary."
"Yeah?"
"Can we lay here forever?"
"Yeah."
"Good, 'cause I think I've found my missing piece."
"Really? Well, I'm certain I've found mine too." Mary said loosening her grip and slowly inching towards Joe's face, and once they were eye to eye she pressed her forehead against his. "With so much lost I didn't think I'd find hope or feel love again, especially after losing my family."
"We are family now, me, you, Bruce, and maybe even Faith though I don't know if anyone one hundred percent trusts her," Joe replied.
"Yeah, we are a family a home away from home, even Faith she's like a sibling after you've had a big fight with. After a certain time you forgive and forget," Mary said tightening her grip again.
"Exactly, like Bruce and me. We had our arguments but we worked it out and now were technically brothers."
"I've heard that you and Bruce got into a big argument when you were younger what was that about?"
"That's a story for another time, but we did stupid things to feel validated by others, and it led to us fighting." Joe frowned slightly. "But hey, you want to move up onto the bed, for that extra comfort."
"Yeah, that's cool," Mary said getting off Joe, they both took their shoes off and lay on the bed, they went back to the same position and lay there. "We forgot to turn off the lights," Mary said hastily jumping off Joe and flicking off the lights.
"Now where were we?" Joe asked as Mary slid back into Joe's arms.
"I don't know, all I know is I'm gonna lay here a while."
"Good, let's hit the hay then" Joe replied, lifting his head and kissing Mary on the forehead. "Love ya and good night,"
"Good night, babycakes," Mary replied inching her head to meet Joe's lips. They both squeezed hard before closing their eyes, getting their well-needed rest.
Bruce woke up with his right shoulder stinging, he clutched it and doubled over for a second. The pain was sharp and felt like someone had driven a knife into Bruce's shoulder, Bruce took a deep breath and muffled out a weak breath, but it was enough to slightly ease the pain, Bruce had painkillers but he forgot to bring them. Angry and annoyed Bruce got up and went outside, it was dawn so Bruce decided to go outside and meditate for a while and probably work out before everyone was up.
Bruce sat on the dock and closed his eyes, he took a deep breath in, and out, in, and out, Bruce focused on his breath, and his surroundings, the flow of the water next to him he hears how it flows towards and backwards. He then focuses on the slow and faint sound of leaves brushing against each other, then his focus on the wildlife, a bird chirping, wildlife running through the forests, and a bear growling, "Wait a BEAR?" Bruce stammered as he opened his eyes, a brown bear glared at him and charged, Bruce didn't react fast enough allowing the bear to press him against the dock hard, Bruce closed his eyes accepting his fate he was defenceless with one good arm. He felt saliva dripping on his face, and then a big lick against his cheek, Bruce opened his eyes and realised the bear wore a blue collar with cheeseburgers on it. "CHEESY BOY!" Bruce shouted in excitement, he got up and gave the bear a bear hug, "Oh, how I've missed you, buddy," Bruce said as Cheeseburger licked his face again hard. "How'd you find us and where Peaches and Boomer?" Cheese grunted. 'What did you expect Bruce a bear talking yeah right' Bruce thought to himself. "Okay come now let's go inside." Bruce directed Cheeseburger inside.
They made their way towards the front door until Cheeseburger collapsed, Bruce checked on the Bear he gave it a small shove, and then inspected his body for any wounds, there were three arrows in Cheeseburger's back, a second later Bruce was hit with an arrow in the middle of his thigh, he grabbed at his thigh in pain, his vision distorted he saw blue and red outlines as if he was wearing 3D glasses, he two figures appear one was bulky and looked like Arnold Schwarzenegger and the other looked like a fairly fit man but a familiar man. The smaller man grabbed Bruce and said, "We meet again, Bruce," before punching Bruce across the face, knocking him out cold.
A while later
Bruce woke up his whole body ached, and his eyes adjusted to the small dark room, it was an empty room, except for a small table in the middle of the room and two chairs that sat on the opposite side of the table. It was an interrogation room. Bruce tried to recall his memory but only remembered his mission of getting supplies for the prison folks and Lindsey. Bruce Tried to move his limbs but they were tied up, Bruce in fact wasn't on the floor he was tied up, he looked up and saw a rope connected to the ceiling, and when Bruce looked down he saw duct tape wrapped around his whole leg.
A door opened from across the room, letting in natural light, it was Joseph Seed, and next to him was a familiar but unfamiliar man at the same time. Bruce felt a surge of anger and tried to attack, but his whole body had a stinging sensation. The sensation on his shoulder was worse, it felt like he was shot once again.
"Bruce," Joseph spoke, "You will atone for all that you have caused, you will confess every sin and then you shall be cleansed by the bliss," Joseph stated staring through Bruce.
Bruce tried to speak but had duct tape wrapped over his mouth, so all that came out was a murmur.
"Would you look at that, he can't speak," The other man spoke. "Let's see what he has to say," He walked up and tore the tape off, Bruce had a closer look at the person and he looked like Jacob. Joe was right he did survive and changed his appearance. "What happened Bruce you've seen a ghost?" Jacob asked with a slight grin.
"I'll leave you to it, Jacob," Joseph said walking over to Jacob and pressing his forehead on Jacobs.
"Yes, Brother," He replied as Joseph walked away. Jacob then walked out of the room leaving Bruce with his thoughts, 'atonement, again?' Bruce thought. What sort of atonement? then it hit him, Jacob is going to do his 'thing.' He was going to brainwash Bruce into a super soldier as he did back in the Whitetails.
A moment later Jacob walked back in this time he brought two other men, they all held something, Jacob bought a case, the man to the right carried a blow torch, and the man to the left carried bricks. Bruce was confused, the man with the bricks stacked them on top of each other, whilst the man with the blow torch somehow attached the blow torch to the bricks. The two men left which left Bruce and Jacob together.
Jacob placed his case on the table, then walked to the blow torch and turned it on, Jacob then opened his case which unrolled into a weapon pack, there were multiple knives, Bruce could see a bowie, a kabar, a sized-down kukri Bruce was unable to see the rest of the knives. Jacob walked out once again and a minute later came back with a metal rod. He placed the rod into one of the bricks. Bruce could see the amber glow inside the bricks. Bruce has been shot, stabbed and blown up a fair amount of times but never has he been tortured, his heart began to beat rapidly as soon as he saw Jacob pull out a massive knife, it looked like a cane machete, but more intimidating, its blade a matte black, with a black wooden hilt, the blade was large and it was flat ended with the end having a little hook at the top, the difference with this machete and the cane machete is that the cutting point was in the centre and it didn't flow through the whole blade.
Jacob slowly and steadily walked over to Bruce, running his fingers slowly along the hook of the blade. He reached Bruce and pressed the cold blade against Bruce's bare chest, the blade cold with its touch, it took Bruce a second to realise that he wasn't wearing any clothes except some really short shorts. Jacob then slowly ran the blade across Bruce's chest, Bruce wanted to fight back but he was restrained. The blade hadn't made any cuts yet until Jacob in a swift motion slashed at bruces chest, it wasn't a critical hit but it hurt Bruce really bad. Jacob went for another slash this time to Bruce's right rib, Bruce let out a muffled breath, he could feel the blood rushing down his body. Jacob went for a hard slash at Bruce's left shoulder, this one lacerated deep, Bruce couldn't help but shout in agony, as he breathed hard to ease the pain, but it didn't help his whole body was in agonizing pain.
Jacob then walked back to the table, placed down the machete and instead reached for the rod, the tip of the rod remained a bright amber, it glew like a glow worm in a cave. The rod had a design similar to the cult's symbol, Jacob this time walked hastily to Bruce and went behind him. He stood there for a second until Bruce felt a sharp pain in his upper back. Bruce once again let out a harrowing shout. Jacob laughed at the situation and walked back to the table, left the pole and reached for something inside the bad, it wasn't a knife thankfully, but it was brass knuckles, these weren't the same as Bruces, the knuckles were flat but had a thick layer of brass on it. Jacob once again menacingly walked over to Bruce pressing his knuckles against each other.
"I bet you regret saving me," Jacob spoke.
"No, it's fine I get another chance to kill you," Bruce stuttered.
"Bullshit," Jacob said as he threw a right hook across Bruce's left side, Bruce felt like a whole truck had slammed against his left side. Jacob then followed up with a jab dead centre on Bruce's noes, Bruce could feel his warm blood ooze down his face. Before Bruce could catch a breath Jacob went for another, hook, and another, and another, Bruce's face felt numb for a second until Jacob threw an uppercut against Bruce's jaw, Bruce bit down on his tongue causing his mouth to fill with blood. Jacob stopped attacking for a moment allowing Bruce to spit out the metallic taste in his blood.
"Hey, dipshit where Cheeseburger?" Bruce stammered.
"He's alive, just that he's going to become a super bear so to say," Jacob replied.
Bruce musted up the strength to speak again, "What do you mean super bear?"
"You remember the judges yes? well, I'm expanding to other wildlife, and bears are strong and fast, they can inflict damage and tank the damage taken, but you see the bears we've caught were hard to brainwash, they all managed to escape, keeping the effects of the bliss. But Cheeseburger, he obeys, he obeys you and he even found you guys after being lost for a week. Well same with Boomer and Peaches, but we captured them and are in the process of converting them."
"You guys are actually fucked!" Bruce shouted with what energy he had remaining. This ticked off Jacob, prompting him to throw a hard jab at Bruce's left eye.
"Shut up, the guests are about to arrive," Jacob stated before walking out of the room. Bruce was confused but he took this opportunity to figure out his escape, if he could open up the ties around his hands he might be able to grab a knife and cut off the tape, but Bruce was snapped out of his thoughts when he saw Ari enter the room, he wore a white sleeveless shirt and a black pair of cargo pants. But Bruce nearly choked on his own blood when he was John Seed walk in with him, alive and well.
"Suprised?" Ari spoke, "That's right that tape you guys watched was really just a random resistance member we captured."
"Your sick in the head," Bruce sputtered.
"No, we just outsmarted you." Ari snapped
"I guess I'll start my tattooing process then." John spoke, placing a box on the table and pulling out a blade, "Now this will hurt if you move," John said slowly etching the letter w, r, a, t, h. "That's right your sin is wrath, you have moments where your anger takes over and you lose control over yourself, I was tempted to give you pride but you don't fully fit that role," John said taking a step back and admiring his work. Bruce was surprised he could even read the words since Bruce's whole chest was painted crimson.
A random follower runs into the room, "Jacob, we have a problem" he said panting. "Cheeseburger just massacred the place, the dosage we've given him was too weak, so he wasn't tranquillized.
"Are you serious right now," Jacob shouted. "God damn it fine let's go." The four men left the room leaving Bruce alone with his thoughts, this was a perfect time to escape. Bruce tried to slip one hand out of the rope but it did him no good, and the fact that his arms were practically dead made it even harder to move. Bruce's legs weren't badly damaged so he tried to spread his legs in an attempt to tear open the tape, but once again his efforts were pointless. Bruce instead swung his legs from left to right, trying to gain enough momentum to spin around to a point where he was facing the wall. Once Bruce had enough momentum he kicked the back wall, causing Bruce to swing backwards, Bruce kept swinging back and forth, in hopes that the rope weakens. But so far it was ineffective, Bruce went for a whole minute and started to feel the rope loosen a bit so he kept swinging back and forth. After five minutes Bruce realised the rope was pretty loose enough, so he slid one hand out of the rope and then the other, he fell onto the ground, Bruce remained there for ten seconds before crawling over to the table, he used the table as support to pull himself up, Bruce picked up a small switchblade and cut open the duct tape.
Bruce took the switchblade and the cane machete, he exited the room and realised he was in unknown territory, this wasn't Jacobs's bunker, nor was it Johns and Bruce expected Faiths to be destroyed so he was overcome with confusion. Bruce finally started to feel the effects of the lacerations the pain was unbearable bad but Bruce soldiered on in hopes of finding Joe and the lot.
Bruce looked around it looked like they were in a small housing lot, Bruce was inside a small cabin, he assumed he was in a bedroom that Ari and Jacob turned into a torture room, to the left was a small hallway, and to the right was a wall and in front of Bruce was a window, he peered out and saw a cobblestone wall assumably the wall is around the whole area. It was about sundown so Bruce had to move quickly. With nowhere to go Bruce turned left, as he walked through the small hallway he finds a door to his left and to his right, Bruce opens the one to the right first and sees a small armoury with ARC rifles, 1911, and AKM rifles. Bruce hastily grabbed a 1911 and picked up three mags, shoving two into his pockets and loading the last one. Bruce then walked into the other door and realised it was locked, Bruce wanted to kick it down but his body was giving up on him, so he walked past it and carried through the hallway. Bruce eventually runs into three doors, one in front of him and two to the left and on the right had one window in the far right corner. Bruce as fast as he could opened the first door and saw it was a bathroom, he entered and inside was a small shower to the left a sink with cabinets in the middle and a toilet in the top right corner. Bruce looked through the cabinets but found nothing, he saw toilet paper and unrolled it until it ran out, Bruce tore it in half, wet one half and kept the other dry, he then wiped the blood off his body and dried it off with the remaining paper. Bruce then left the room and entered the second room, it was just a cabinet and was empty except for the few chip packets that remained. Bruce finally walked over to the final door and exited the house of terrors.
Outside he saw a small hut and a large white tent that was heavily fortified, 'that has to be where the animals are being converted' Bruce thought, as he walked towards it. Bruce opened the wooden door and smelt a scent of death, he crouched down and walked around, the tent had two ways to move, right or left. So Bruce moved towards the right because right is always right, it was really just a hallway, the interior was empty but as Bruce walked deeper in the weaker the death smelt, and instead he felt more intoxicated. Bruce eventually walked into a storage room, where bliss production occurred, there were green canisters seeping bliss particles, the whole right side of the room had bliss canisters, whilst the left side had these valves with big machine boxes, Bruce was no scientist or engineer but he knew for a fact that's what the used to convert bliss plants into the liquid or gassy state. Bruce walked further but it was just a dead end with no pathways into another section so Bruce walked back, to where he came from.
When he got back to the entrance we walked straight and that's when he saw the dead bodies, of scientists, one person had their head torn off another person was disembowelled, but the deeper Bruce went the more guts he saw, there were lungs, bones, eyeballs, fingers scattered around the floor the whole hallway was painted red. Bruce walked through the blood and guts empty footed causing Bruce to gag with every step, eventually, he reached a large metal door that was destroyed, most likely because Cheeseburger made a runner. Bruce finally entered the conversion room and saw small rooms each had its own number, ranging from #1 all the way to #25. Bruce checked out one of the rooms, it was small it made Bruce feel claustrophobic since there were no gaps in between. It was just walls. There was a litter box, in the far back, and the centre had some magical tubes and things Bruce didn't really know what they did but made the assumption that it was used to dose high amounts of bliss to the animals. The room didn't have any other features except the metal door had a slider to throw food in, Bruce felt somewhat grateful he wasn't put in there.
Bruce exited the small room and looked around the rest of the conversion chamber, there was nothing special, just extra bliss canisters lying around, trays of syringes and other medical equipment, Bruce felt uneasy and decided to leave the room, back to the deathly hallways. Bruce tried to run through the guts and blood but ended up slipping and falling into a puddle of blood, Bruce's whole body hurt and as much as he wanted to sit down he got back up and hastily left the hallway back to the entrance, by the time Bruce exited the sun was sitting on the mountains so Bruce decided it was time to leave, in front of him was the main gate so he ran as fast as he could, the gate was closed but Bruce didn't let that stop him, since adrenalin rushed through his blood, Bruce climbed the fence and dropped down the other side, he could feel a slight stinging sensation but brushed it off when he saw freedom ahead. The hell house was located on top of a mountain so Ari didn't lie about one thing and that was the mountain that John 'fell off of,' it took Bruce a second until realising the torture room Bruce was just in the same one fake John was in, which explains why those wolves were crazy strong. Bruce shook his head and emptied his thoughts he then walked along the dirt path until he found an old sinner car ditched at the side of the room, Bruce got in and hotwired the car. As soon as he heard the engine start he speed off. Bruce had no clue where he was but he didn't care so long as he would never return to that hell again. Bruce was driving down the mountain but as soon as he reached the main road he heard the radio make a static sound before Bruce heard the two words.
'ONLY YOU'
