"We going to talk?" Tommy asked as he walked around to the front door of the dojo and saw Kim holding his bag. He grabbed the bag and watched her turn away from him. "I'm so sorry."
"I know and we do need to talk, I just don't know if I can tonight. There's a lot…" Kim trailed off as she hastily wiped her cheeks and then looked back up at him. She knew that Tommy could not take her crying and she didn't ever want him to feel like she was using that against him. "I can't do this with where I'm at right now and I don't want to just take out my insecurities on you."
"Ollie has class tomorrow. Want to talk then?" Tommy suggested and she nodded. He put his arm around her as they headed towards their vehicles and she leaned into him. She would have never locked up for the night at her last gym, but on the nights that she locked up with Tommy- this was her favorite part. A few minutes where they both acted like nothing had ever happened between them. A few minutes where she could curl into him and feel completely safe. "Did I make things worse today?"
"I don't think so. I do think there's a few instructors that aren't too happy that you basically said you're opening the door for us to date again," Kim said as she rested against her car and he settled across from her against his jeep. "I've got eyes."
"And hopefully they have eyes," Tommy said as he pushed off his jeep and he leaned down and stole a kiss. "I'm not looking anywhere else."
"Good," Kim said as she pulled him down for another kiss and he let the warmth go through him. There was a warmth that he only got from her and he had missed it more than he wanted to admit. He deepened the kiss and she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in closer. She broke away and let out a few ragged breaths. This. This was why they had to make a path forward because this was eating them alive. "We should stop."
"Yeah. I'll be ready to listen to you tomorrow. Drive safe," Tommy said as he opened her door and she climbed into the car. She squeezed his hand before he closed the door and he took a step back. He waited to get into his jeep as he watched her drive off. He paused as he went to walk around his jeep. It was too quiet and he didn't know why. When he reached for his door he heard someone walking up behind him and let out a sigh. This person had to be stupid to decide to jump him.
"I was right about your feelings Tommy," Zeltrax said as Tommy whipped around and reached for his morpher, but found himself pegged against his jeep. "Let's see if Kimberly cares half as much as you do."
The rangers sat in homeroom and looked around, normally Dr. O was there when they walked in, but he had started running late with splitting parent duties with Kim. The second bell rang and Dr. O didn't appear. They waited another ten minutes and Dr. O still wasn't there, this wasn't normal for him. He had been late to school, on occasion, but he had never been this late. He hadn't called out- so what had happened to him?
"Call Hayley?" Conner asked as the others nodded and he ducked into a closet to reach out to their support team. She had known what to do the last time Dr. O disappeared, surely she would know what to do now.
"Should we call Kim?" Kira asked as Ethan and Trent exchanged a glance. They could handle this on their own, they didn't need her as back up. "She's one of us too. Plus there's Ollie and how they feel about each other. She should know."
"She is, but he'll be back before she even knows he's gone," Trent said as Kira looked between the two of them. She, somehow, doubted that would be the case.
"I'm going to go make sure he asks Hayley to pass on the message to Kim," Kira said as she doubled back and ducked into the closet that Conner had disappeared into. Her gut said they were going to need Kimberly, even if the guys didn't really seem to want her there. "Hey Hayley."
"Kira- what are you doing there?" Hayley asked as she was frantically gathering supplies to head over to the Dino Lab.
"Can you make sure Kim gets the message that he's missing too? She should know and she should be able to help," Kira said as Conner gave her a look and she locked eyes with him and he looked away first. "Plus- she knows Dr. O better than us."
"But not better than me. I'll let her know if we need her," Hayley ground out as she ended the communication and it was Conner's turn to look concerned.
"Is there a reason Hayley doesn't like Kimberly?" Conner asked and Kira barely nodded. "Did she used to date Dr. O?"
"Apparently and she's not a huge fan of Kimberly. Don't know why. We're already late, we need to go," Kira said as she dodged out of the closet and then Conner waited a couple of minutes and he left as well. They had gotten the information to someone that could look, they just hoped that she would be able to find him quickly.
"Why is Tommy's jeep outside?" Kim asked as she walked into the dojo at two o'clock that afternoon and April spun around and glared at her. She looked behind her to see if anyone else was there and gave April a confused look. "What?"
"He went home with you. That's why," April said as Kim laughed. If Tommy had come home with her, he wouldn't have been stupid enough to leave his car here. They both appreciated having the ability to leave when they wanted to.
"He's not that stupid," Kim said as she looked around at the other instructors. "Tommy's not here?"
"No…we all thought that…" Alex trailed off as Kim forced down her sudden panic. If Tommy's jeep was here and he wasn't- something had gone wrong. She walked back out into the parking lot and noticed his keys on the ground and his gym bag behind one of the tires. The instructors hadn't thought to look for this once they heard April's assumption and she pushed down her anger. After everything that they had learned, it did seem plausible even if it was highly unlikely for Tommy. She knew one thing for sure- Tommy was missing and it was likely that he had been taken by either Zeltrax or Mesogog. "He wouldn't have left his stuff…"
"Call in extra instructors for his classes. I'm going to go take a look at the security footage," Kim said as Alex and April stared at her and she spun around to look at the both of them. "What?"
"The security footage is gone," April whispered as Kimberly let out a string of curses so foul that April's face turned bright red. "You didn't do that?"
"I give zero shits if you see me kiss Tommy on some crappy security footage. Alex- call in a couple of extra instructors for his classes. April- go take a walk and get yourself together. I've got to make some phone calls," Kim said as April grabbed her arm and she glared over at her. She was already teetering on the edge and if April kept getting in her way, she was going to lash out. "What is it?"
"You really do care about him," April whispered as Kim let down her guard for a moment and she hoped that April could see how worried and scared she was.
"More than you'll ever know." Kim gently pulled away and jogged up to her office where she closed the door and slid down the wall and gave herself a few minutes to cry. Tommy was missing and if the security footage was gone- it had to be ranger related. She glanced down at her communicator and wondered why no one had contacted her, but she pushed that aside for a moment. Maybe her generation of Power Rangers knew what was going on.
She pulled out her cell phone and dialed friend after friend after friend. None of them had heard from Tommy. None of them had heard from the other rangers. She was the only person that was raising any sort of alarm and she was now officially freaked out. Was she the only ranger that hadn't been captured?
"Kim- what do you need from us?" Aisha asked as Kim sat on the other end of the phone. Aisha and Rocky were the last ones that she called and she tried to form words for what she needed now. "Kim…"
"Can you come to the dojo and pick Ollie up tonight? I…I need to get to the Command Center and figure out what is going on," Kim forced out as she let out a shaky breath and wasn't able to hold back the sob that broke through. "I hope I'm wrong on this."
"Me too, Kim. Me too."
