Chapter 3: "Winds Of Change"
Four years had breezed by since the clash in the forest, and the trio—Luffy, Naruto, and Ace—had grown immeasurably stronger. Their skills, honed under the watchful eye of Vice Admiral Garp even if he couldn't always train the trio.
Ace had left for his own pirate adventure two years into the training, and both Naruto and Luffy wished him luck. Both Luffy and Ace started to see Naruto as a brother and vice versa.
The training had transformed both Luffy and Naruto into formidable foes, ready to conquer the Grand Line.
On a serene evening, aboard their ship navigating the vast seas, Luffy and Naruto stood at the helm, gazing at the horizon. The winds carried whispers of adventures yet to unfold, and the sun above reflected the promise of the unknown.
Luffy, his straw hat casting a shadow over his laid-back eyes, grinned widely. "Hey, Naruto, can you believe it's been four years? Time really does fly when you're having fun!"
Naruto, his expression thoughtful, chuckled. "Yeah, and Garp's training sure gave us a run for our money. But you know, sometimes I wonder what it would've been like if Ace joined us. He'd have had more fun, right?"
Luffy's eyes took on a distant look, memories of their encounters with Ace flashing before him. "Ace was strong. It would've been cool having him with us."
Naruto, recalling their past conversations, sighed. "He always talked about finding his own freedom, his own way. I just hope he's out there doing whatever makes him happy."
As the ship sailed through the calm waters, Luffy's mind seemed to be floating in the clouds. Flashbacks of their adventures, fights, and the laughter shared around campfires played in his head like a happy slideshow.
Luffy, as if catching onto Naruto's thoughts, nudged him playfully. "Remember that time in Foosha Village? We fought those lions together. Good times, good times."
Naruto chuckled, the memories warming his heart. "Yeah, and the feast Makino threw for us. Those villagers treated us like heroes."
The ship sailed onward, cutting through the waves, and Naruto's mind drifted to their training under Garp. The ethereal chains of Kūbyakai now moved with a rhythm that mirrored his carefree spirit. The forest, the mountains, and the village—all part of their journey—had become groovy milestones in their growth.
In the quiet of the night, Naruto shared his thoughts with Luffy. "You know, Luffy, Garp taught us more than just fighting. He taught us about the spirit of being out at sea—the chill to face the unknown. Sometimes, I feel like the sea itself is our playground."
Luffy, eyes sparkling with the thrill of adventure, grinned. "Yeah, the sea's full of surprises and challenges. That's what makes being a pirate so exciting, right?"
As they sailed, Naruto's gaze fixed on the stars above, a silent reflection of the dreams and aspirations that bound them together. The ship, a groovy vessel of shared memories and untold tales, carried the weight of their journey across the vastness of the East Blue.
As the ship cut through the sea, Naruto, with a newfound burst of energy, turned to Luffy. "Let's make Ace proud. Our journey's just getting started!"
Luffy, gripping his hat with a laid-back swagger, nodded. "Yeah, let's show the world what carefree pirates like us can do!"
The next morning, the ship docked at an island where Naruto had arranged to gather supplies for their journey. The bustling market, filled with merchants and traders, greeted them with an array of goods and treasures.
Naruto, his eyes scanning the marketplace, murmured to himself. "We need everything—food, maps, resources." Eager to dive into the adventure, he set out to acquire the necessities for their voyage.
Throughout the day, Naruto, with Luffy tagging along in his own carefree manner, negotiated with merchants and secured the best deals for provisions. The bag of supplies grew, filled with fruits, meat, navigational charts, and various resources essential for their journey.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting hues of orange and pink across the sky, Naruto and Luffy returned to the ship, their arms laden with the fruits of their laid-back negotiations.
Luffy, with a nonchalant grin, looked at Naruto. "You manage to get everything, dude?"
Naruto, a grin mirroring Luffy's, nodded. "Yep, everything we need for the next leg of our chill journey. The sea won't know what hit it."
Together, they stowed the supplies on the ship, each item carefully placed as if assembling the pieces of a laid-back puzzle. The ship, now laden with provisions, felt like a groovy entity ready to embark on a new adventure.
Naruto, standing at the helm, gazed at the starlit sky. The memories of their carefree battles, the wisdom imparted by Garp, and the laid-back camaraderie forged in the crucible of their journey echoed in his mind.
The sea, vast and unpredictable, awaited them. With a laid-back sense of determination, Naruto steered the ship toward the open sea, guided by the stars above. The wind caught the sails, and the ship surged forward, leaving the island behind.
The evening breeze played with Naruto's spiky hair as he stood at the helm, his eyes fixed on the horizon. The ship glided smoothly through the gentle waves, the rhythmic creaking of the ship's frame adding a comforting melody to the night.
Luffy, sprawled on the deck with his hat tilted over his eyes, let out a contented sigh. "This is the life, Naruto. The sea, the ship, and a sky full of dreams. Ain't it just perfect?"
Naruto nodded, his eyes still on the stars. "Yeah, it's like Garp said—being out here is about embracing the unknown. And look at those stars, man. Each one's a story waiting to be told."
Luffy grinned, pushing his hat back to get a better view of the twinkling sky. "I like that. Our stories, written in the stars. We're gonna make a mark on this world, Naruto."
The ship sailed on, the moonlight dancing on the water's surface. Naruto's mind drifted to their training days, the sweat and determination that had forged them into the pirates they were now. He could almost hear Garp's gruff voice, pushing them to their limits.
Leaning against the ship's railing, Naruto let out a low whistle. "Remember that day on the mountain, when Garp had us running up and down, saying it was essential for pirate stamina?"
Luffy chuckled, sitting up. "Yeah, I thought my legs were gonna fall off. But look at us now, running through the seas like it's nothing."
Naruto's gaze shifted to the distant outline of the island they left behind. "And the villagers in Foosha. They threw a feast for us, treated us like heroes. Never thought being a pirate could be this cool."
Luffy's eyes gleamed with mischief. "Cool? We're not just cool, Naruto. We're the coolest pirates out here!"
Naruto laughed, the sound echoing across the quiet sea. "You got that right, Luffy. The coolest, craziest, most carefree pirates sailing the Grand Line."
As the ship sailed through the night, a soft glow emanated from the ship's lanterns, casting a warm ambiance on the deck. Naruto walked to the ship's edge, his fingers trailing through the water. "It's crazy, you know? Four years ago, we were just starting out, barely knowing the first thing about being pirates. And now, here we are, leaving our mark on the world."
Luffy joined him at the railing, his gaze fixed on the horizon. "Yeah, it's been a wild ride. But that's what makes it awesome. The unknown, the challenges, the adventures—we're living the dream, Naruto."
A light breeze ruffled their hair as the ship sailed on, leaving a trail of shimmering waves in its wake. Naruto turned to Luffy, his expression thoughtful. "You ever think about Ace, Luffy? What he's up to, where his adventures have taken him?"
Luffy's grin softened, a hint of nostalgia in his eyes. "Ace had his own path to follow. I'm sure wherever he is, he's having the time of his life. We'll meet him again, someday."
Naruto nodded, a sense of camaraderie binding them. "Yeah, and when we do, it's gonna be one heck of a reunion. The three brothers, back together."
The night wore on, and the ship sailed through the calm waters with a steady rhythm. Naruto and Luffy found themselves sitting on the deck, gazing at the stars. Each twinkling light held a promise, a piece of the vast puzzle that was their journey.
Naruto broke the silence, his voice carrying a hint of introspection. "You know, Luffy, Garp taught us more than just fighting. He taught us about freedom, about embracing the chaos of the sea. It's not just about reaching the end; it's about enjoying the journey."
Luffy nodded, his eyes reflecting the moonlight. "Yeah, the journey's what makes us who we are. The places we've been, the people we've met—it's all a part of our story."
They sat in companionable silence, the only sounds being the gentle creaking of the ship and the distant hum of the sea. Naruto's mind wandered to the training sessions with Garp, the lessons etched into his muscles and spirit.
"And those chains," Naruto mused, "the Kūbyakai. They were tough to master, but now they feel like an extension of me. A reminder of the strength we gained."
Luffy stretched out, lying back on the deck. "Yeah, Garp knew what he was doing. He shaped us into pirates who can take on anything."
The ship sailed on, carrying with it the weight of their memories, dreams, and the unspoken bond between Naruto and Luffy. The sea, a vast expanse of possibilities, mirrored the limitless potential of their journey.
As dawn approached, painting the sky with hues of pink and gold, Naruto stood up, his eyes filled with determination. "Let's make Ace proud, Luffy. Our journey's just getting started."
Luffy sat up, a fire in his eyes matching Naruto's resolve. "Yeah, let's show the world what carefree pirates like us can do!"
The morning sun cast its warm embrace over the ship as Naruto and Luffy prepared for the adventures that lay ahead. The supplies they gathered the previous day stood ready, a testament to their preparation for the unknown.
Naruto took a moment to appreciate the groovy vessel they called home. The ship, with its worn but sturdy frame, had become a reflection of their journey. Every scratch, every repaired mast, told a tale of resilience and the willingness to face whatever challenges the Grand Line threw their way.
As the ship set sail once more, Naruto manned the helm, guided by the stars and the promise of new horizons. Luffy, leaning against the railing, scanned the sea with a carefree grin. The wind caught their hair, and the ship surged forward, leaving the island behind.
The duo shared a glance, and a silent understanding passed between them. The sea awaited, and their stories, written in the stars, unfolded with each passing wave. The journey of the two carefree pirates, bound by friendship and the thrill of the unknown, continued into the vastness of the Grand Line.
The next day, on a calm afternoon bathed in the warm hues painted by the setting sun, the duo—Luffy and Naruto—stood on the deck of their ship. This vessel, a combination of wood and dreams, had become both a home and a symbol of their epic journey. The sea stretched endlessly before them, its vastness reflecting the infinite possibilities that lay ahead.
Luffy, his iconic straw hat tilted in his classic style, grinned at Naruto with a glint of excitement in his eyes. "Our journey starts now, and the sea's full of surprises. What's next, Naruto? You are the vice-captain, after all."
Naruto, leaning casually against the ship's railing, scanned the distant horizon with a gaze that held a mix of determination and curiosity. "Next, my friend, is the pursuit of dreams. And speaking of dreams, I can't help but wish Ace were here with us."
Luffy's trademark grin softened for a moment, replaced by a small but thoughtful smile. "Yeah, Ace. He's out there somewhere, chasing his own dream. We'll meet again, for sure."
As their ship gracefully cut through the waves, propelled by the wind and their shared sense of purpose, the calm atmosphere was suddenly shattered by the sudden appearance of a formidable pirate ship on the distant horizon. The banner of the notorious Alvida Pirates flew high, an ominous symbol of their fearsome reputation in the East Blue.
Alvida, a figure both large and intimidating, commanded the ship with an air of overconfidence. Her size and strength were unmatched, but her lack of strategic acumen became apparent as the situation unfolded.
As the Alvida Pirates closed in, a thunderous voice echoed from their ship, sending a declaration of impending conflict. "Oi, brats! You're in Alvida's territory now! Prepare to be crushed!"
Luffy, ever confident and unfazed, shot back with his trademark bravado. "Crushed? We'll see about that!"
Sensing the imminent clash, Naruto unsheathed his blade with a swift, fluid motion. "Luffy, let's give them a taste of our strength!"
The Alvida Pirates, underestimating their opponents, launched into a reckless assault. Alvida herself, a towering presence with a raised mace, charged toward Luffy with unwavering determination. The clash began, and the sea bore witness to the collision of two formidable wills.
Luffy, displaying his carefree and unorthodox combat style, utilized the stretchiness of his rubbery limbs to evade Alvida's strikes effortlessly. He countered with elastic punches that sent shockwaves through the pirate crew, creating a chaotic dance of bodies in the process.
Naruto, with his blade gleaming in the sunlight, moved through the chaos like a shadow. The ethereal chains of Kūbyakai, an extension of his formidable skills, danced around him, deflecting attacks and ensnaring those who dared cross his path.
Amidst the swirling skirmish, Luffy and Naruto exchanged glances, a silent understanding passing between them. The Alvida Pirates, realizing their miscalculation, faltered in the face of the duo's well-coordinated assault.
Alvida, frustrated and enraged, confronted Luffy directly. "You little brat! How dare you defy Alvida!"
Luffy, maintaining his ear-to-ear grin, replied with characteristic nonchalance. "Defy? Nah, we're just passing through. No need for trouble."
With a swift and seamlessly coordinated effort, Luffy and Naruto incapacitated the Alvida Pirates, leaving Alvida herself defeated and her once-formidable crew scattered in disarray. The open skies bore witness to their hasty retreat.
The victory, though swift, left a lingering tension in the air. Luffy, always the optimist, turned to Naruto. "Well, that was fun, eh, Naruto?"
Naruto nodded, though his gaze remained fixed on the ever-expanding horizon. "Yeah, but this is just the beginning. The Grand Line awaits, and who knows what challenges we'll face."
The duo found themselves stargazing on the deck, the sea reflecting the shimmering tapestry above. Luffy lay back, hands clasped behind his head, and Naruto sat cross-legged, his eyes fixed on the constellations.
The sun's light painted the sky once again as the duo stood at the ship's bow, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. The sea whispered promises of new islands, undiscovered lands, and the mysteries of the Grand Line.
Naruto turned to Luffy, determination in his eyes. "Our dreams might take us to different places, but as long as we're Nakama, nothing can stop us."
Luffy grinned, raising his straw hat in agreement. "That's right, Naruto! Let's make this journey legendary!"
Luffy turned to Naruto with a hearty laugh. "Well, that was fun! Now, where were we heading, Vice Captain?"
Naruto looked over to the other ship, "I think we should sort our supplies, and take some of theirs."
Luffy followed his gaze. "But that sounds boring. I just hope they packed meat."
Luffy and Naruto started to rummage through the various supplies from the other ship. Barrels of provisions, crates of fruits, lots of meat, and stacks of navigational charts cluttered the deck as they searched for essentials to fuel their carefree journey. The sun hung lazily in the sky, casting a warm glow on the ship's deck.
Naruto, with a laid-back grin, sifted through a pile of maps. "Hey, Luffy, I think we have enough supplies to last us a week or two."
"Does that mean i can have from meat." Luffys eyes seemed to plead out to Naruto
"Yeah I guess you can have some." Naruto looked a bit thoughtful. "Also Luffy, I think I know who should be in the crew next."
Luffy looked over grinning ear to ear. "Really?"
"Yes, I've heard about someone named Zoro, an infamous Pirate Hunter. I heard he's a very loyal person, also heard that he's a swordsman. I just think all those traits would make him a great member of the crew."
Luffy's response could be easily seen by the huge grin going across his face. "That's great! Where do we find him?"
Naruto looked sheepish. "Well, I'm still trying to find that out, but for the meantime, let's continue to check the supplies we got ."
As they continued to check their supplies, the duo stumbled upon a slightly trembling figure hidden behind a stack of barrels. The figure, who had been observing the scene cautiously from a distance.
Naruto, ever the friendly one, approached the figure with an easygoing smile. "Hey there! Who are you? You seem a bit on edge."
Koby, startled by their sudden appearance, stammered, "Oh, uh, nothing! Just, you know, trying to... find a good hiding spot."
Luffy, with a carefree chuckle, leaned against a mast. "Hiding spot? Well, you're doing a great job. What brings you to our ship?"
Koby, realizing he was caught, took a deep breath and straightened up. "I, uh, heard you guys talking about Zoro and stuff. I know where he is! And, well, I... I kinda wanted to get off that other ship. I wasn't really a part of the crew, just a prisoner, you know, and my name is Koby?"
Naruto exchanged a glance with Luffy, both of them sensing Koby's discomfort. Naruto shrugged with a friendly grin. "No worries! We would be happy to take you with us."
Luffy nodded in agreement. "Yeah, come on board! We're looking through our supplies anyway, and having an extra hand would be awesome. Plus, we're heading to find Zoro, so you might know some helpful stuff!"
Koby, visibly relieved, managed a small smile. "Really?"
Naruto clapped him on the back, and Luffy gave him a thumbs up. "Absolutely! The more, the merrier. We'll sail together to wherever the wind takes us!"
And so, the newly found trio continued their search for supplies, laughter echoing across the ship.
Luffy, Naruto, and Koby sailed into Shell Town, the place zoro was rumored to be captured. Their ship cutting through the azure waters, with Koby serving as their guide and Naruto attempting to navigate with mediocre skills that often led to amusing detours. As they finally docked and stepped ashore, the lively marketplace embraced them with its vibrant colors and the clamor of the midday crowd. The air was thick with the scent of exotic fruits and the energetic hum of commerce.
Amidst the market chatter, Naruto expressed his hope that Zoro lived up to the rumors of his loyalty. Luffy, casually munching on a pear he had nonchalantly acquired, remarked, "I'll only invite Zoro if he's a good guy." Koby, with a tinge of concern in his voice, interjected, "Being locked up suggests otherwise," uncertainty evident in his expression as they walked through the market. As they walked among the market, Naruto asked a seller about Zoros location, Idmaitly after this question it seemed as if the whole market came to life as everyone backed away from the trio.
Undeterred by the wary glances from onlookers, Luffy, Naruto, and Koby continued their stroll through the bustling marketplace. Luffy, in his carefree manner, suggested heading to the Marine base, prompting him to inquire about Koby's aspirations to become a Marine. Koby, uncertain about his readiness, received encouragement from Naruto, who believed in his untapped potential.
Upon hearing Captain Morgans name, a reaction mirroring that of Zoro's mention unfolded, perplexing Koby. "Why does everyone fear Captain Morgan? A Marine captain should be a force for good," Koby pondered, a touch of unease coloring his thoughts as he questioned the integrity of the institution he aspired to join.
Uneasy with the disparity between the reactions to Zoro and Captain Morgan, Koby expressed his confusion. "Maybe people are just jumping around for fun." luffy suggested playfully. "Captain Morgan might be corrupt," Naruto said thoughtfully ,an idea Koby dismissed, "A Marine wouldn't act that way," his loyalty to his future goals unwavering.
As their discussion unfolded, they reached the imposing stone walls surrounding the Marine base, adorned with a gate bearing the inscription "Marines." Koby, upon arriving, declared, "I've reached my destination and this is where we will part ways Naruto and Luffy," his tone reflective of the gravity of the place he was about to enter.
Unperturbed, Luffy scaled the wall with his usual ease, followed by Naruto, peering over to the other side where Zoro was tied to a cross. "Zoro looks friendly enough," Naruto commencted, Expressing a certain curiosity that hinted at his ability to see beyond appearances. "We should untie him," Luffy, suggested, the ever impulsive one of the trio, the a reckless idea that made Koby alarmed. "That would be stupid! He could kill us all!" Koby shouted, his anxiety evident in his urgent plea.
Zoro, annoyed by their presence, barked, "Hey, you three, you're an eyesore. Get lost!" A ladder suddenly appeared next to the trio, and a determined girl descended, much to Koby's protest. The little girl hesitated but bravely approached Zoro with a bag of rice balls, an act of kindness that defied the tension in the air.
Zoro, irritated, asked, "What do you want now, Rika?" The now-revealed Rika looked up with a beaming smile and said, "I thought you must be getting hungry, so I brought you some rice balls." Zoro, gruffly, demanded, "Kid, I'm not hungry. Stop irritating me and get lost." Rika, undeterred, insisted, "You haven't eaten anything for 3 weeks. Please just take these." She took out some rice balls, saying, "Just take them. I've never really made rice balls before, but I did my very best. I think they're fine."
Zoro, growing louder, demanded, "Kid, I'm not hungry. Stop irritating me and get lost." Rika protested, "You have a death wish? Scram." Naruto and Luffy observed the exchange, a mix of shock and concern in their expressions. Koby, torn between caution and empathy, watched the scene unfold with a troubled gaze.
Suddenly, three figures approached, and a snarky voice interjected, "Now, now, no one likes a bully." Emerging into view, a blonde man examined Rika's rice balls, remarking, "Oh, those look like some tasty rice balls. Mind if I take one?" He nonchalantly grabbed a rice ball, took a bite, and his face turned blue with disgust. He tossed the rice ball away and snatched another from Rika's hand, complaining, "Too damn sweet! Did you make them from sugar and not salt?" Rika, on the verge of tears, admitted, "I thought they would taste better that way."
Koby looked over the scene with shock, expressing, "That's horrible." The trio, Luffy, Naruto, and Koby, observed the unfolding drama with a mix of shock and concern. The blonde man, now named Helmeppo, produced a slip of paper. Rika, now in tears, looked down at the rice balls, now encapsulated with dirt. Helmeppo callously declared, "But I worked so hard to make those." The blonde looked down at Rika and said, "Too bad; you must not have read the new notice that was posted. Those who help criminals will be executed. Signed, Marine Captain Morgan—my father. And me, as his son, Helmeppo, will carry out this task if you try this again."
Helmeppo turned to a marine next to him, ordering, "You, throw this kid out." The marine, fearful, stammered, "Sir, she's a—" Helmeppo, annoyed, cut him off, "Does it look like I care? Just throw her out already." The marine, looking over to Rika with sorrow, apologized, "Sorry for this. Try to curl up into a ball." With that, the marine threw Rika over the wall.
Luffy and Naruto watched the scene with anger as Rika was launched above the wall. Naruto, utilizing his water logia powers, created a makeshift net, catching Rika and placing her back on her feet. Grateful, she said, "Thank you, uh, sir—" Naruto interrupted with a small smile, "Naruto. This is Luffy, and that's Koby," pointing to himself, then Koby and Luffy.
Luffy glanced over the wall, observing the marines and Helmeppo leaving. As they departed, Naruto grinned at Luffy, and both leaped over the wall, making their way to Zoro. Approaching him, Luffy and Naruto stood before Zoro, who was tied up on a cross. "Heard you're a bad guy," Luffy said with a grin. "We wanted to know if you'd be interested in joining our crew," Naruto added. Zoro, annoyed, retorted, "You're still here? Just get lost. Can't you mind your own business?" After a moment of thought, Zoro relented, "Wait, if you're going to stay, just give me those rice balls." Naruto looked unsure, "Are you sure you want them? They're dirty." Zoro looked a bit annoyed, "Yes,
I want them. Just hand them over." Naruto picked up the destroyed and dirty rice balls, teasing, "You sure?" Zoro, growing more annoyed, demanded, "Shut up and give them to me now." Naruto looked annoyed, "Fine, fine. Don't get your panties in a mess." Luffy looked thoughtful as Zoro coughed on the dirt, "You should have listened to Naruto." Zoro looked relieved, "It was good. Thanks for the food. Tell Rika I said thanks." Luffy and Naruto both smiled, recognizing that Zoro would become a crucial part of their crew, and they were willing to do whatever it took to make it happen.
"Really?" sounded Rika's enthusiastic voice as they approached Rika. The atmosphere in the tavern was lively, a blend of laughter, clinking glasses, and the hum of shared stories.
Rika, her eyes lighting up at the sight of the trio, greeted them warmly. "Hey! Yeah, he ate every last bite of those rice balls. He even said they tasted good."
Naruto, grinning from ear to ear, Rika's happiness was palpable as Naruto shared the news of Zoro's approval of her culinary skills. Meanwhile, Koby opted for a quieter spot on the tavern steps, his thoughts veering toward the rumors surrounding Zoro.
While Naruto and Rika conversed, Koby voiced his growing uncertainty. "I really am starting to wonder if all the rumors that Zoro is a villain and an evil man are true."
Naruto, always ready to dispel misconceptions, chimed in, "They are not." Rika, embodying a loud and confident voice, "I know he's not a bad person because he saved me and got himself captured just so I wouldn't get in trouble."
The trio's discussion unfolded against the backdrop of the bustling tavern, with Naruto and Luffy exchanging glances. However, Rika's tone shifted, "Sorry, it's all that dumb Helmeppo's fault. He let his pet dog out in town and said if anyone didn't move out of its way, they would be executed. It scared everyone, and when it came into my mom's tavern, I got angry."
As Rika delved into the events leading to Zoro's intervention, Naruto and Luffy listened attentively, a blend of curiosity and concern etched on their faces. Rika's recounting continued, her expression now of sorrow. "I tried to fight back against it, but it attacked me. Then Zoro came and killed it."
A moment of solemnity filled the air as Rika, on the verge of tears, continued, "Then when Helmeppo tried to attack Zoro, Zoro beat him, threatened to take his life. Then Helmeppo told Zoro that if he killed him, his father would find me and my mom and execute us."
The trio absorbed the weight of Rika's words, a complex narrative unraveling before them. A crash echoed from within the tavern, signaling a disturbance that drew Naruto's attention. Ever the protector, he assured Rika, "You guys just stay here; I can handle whatever's in there."
Naruto entered the tavern with a calm stride, hand resting on the hilt of his sheathed blade. The interior, filled with a mix of cheers and tension, unveiled the source of the commotion—Helmeppo. His arrogant demeanor and a slip of paper hinted at the unfolding drama.
"I suppose I could just execute Zoro tomorrow. You know what? That's what I'll do. It's getting boring in this town anyway," declared Helmeppo, a declaration that sent ripples of anger through Naruto.
In a burst of fury, Naruto's typically carefree expression transformed into a visage of righteous indignation. He sprinted past a girl with orange hair, targeting Helmeppo with unbridled determination. With a swift punch to Helmeppo's jaw, Naruto's voice cut through the air, "Bastard! You dare to go back on your word, you scum."
Helmeppo, now on the receiving end of Naruto's fury, found himself subjected to the full force of the young pirate's anger. Naruto's words, laced with contempt as he punched Helmeppo over and over again, echoed, "You're lucky I don't kill you where you stand."
Fearful, Helmeppo attempted to retreat, only to face Naruto's unwavering gaze. "You're going to hear from my father, and he's going to execute you and everyone you find dear."
As the disgraced Helmeppo fled, Naruto, still seething with anger, returned to the tavern's entrance. "LUFFY!" he called out to his captain, a name that rang through the chaotic atmosphere.
Luffy, appearing confused, responded, "What is it, Naruto?" The gravity of the situation etched seriousness onto Naruto's face. "Helmeppo said he's going to go back on his word. He said he's going to execute Zoro tomorrow."
Luffy, now as angry as Naruto jumped on his impulsiveness, "Well, that's it."
"What do you mean?" Koby echoed, and still grappling with confusion, sought clarification.
Naruto, with a glance toward Luffy, elucidated, "What he means is he's made up his mind about Zoro joining. He wants him on the crew, and there's nothing that's going to stop him from getting Zoro as our second crewmate."
The trio, united by a shared purpose, sprinted towards the spot where they last saw Zoro. As they reached the scene, only Zoro remained tied up. Luffy, embodying the essence of leadership, declared, "Zoro, I've made up my mind. your joining our crew."
Zoro, displayed his characteristic annoyance, "You two again. Don't you have anything better to do?" Naruto, with a touch of mischief in his demeanor, chuckled. "No, in fact, we don't. But... we don't have time. But the gist of things is that Helmeppo plans to execute you early, and unless you get out soon, you're a goner."
Zoro, taken aback, glanced between Naruto and Luffy. Naruto continued, "Look, Zoro, I'll untie you, but only if you promise to join my crew." Zoro, his irritation was evident, "Give me one more reason to why I should join a band of pirates, and maybe I'll think about it if it's a good one."
Naruto, leaning on the persuasive side, looked thoughtful. "Well, I heard that you were a swordsman before you got captured and all. If I get you your swords back, do you promise to join?" Zoro, contemplating the offer, inquired further, "Even if you were to get me my swords back, why would I stoop so low to become a pirate?"
Luffy, ever the idiot looked appalled. "And what's wrong with being a pirate?" Zoro, his grin surfacing, responded, "Their discipline. I would never want to join up with a crimail."
Luffy, undeterred, asserted with confidence, "Well, I already decided you're going to be in my crew, so you're joining." Naruto, wearing a mischievous grin laughed, "What, you can't do that!"
Luffy, resolute, looked at Zoro. "Well, I heard from Naruto you're rumored to be good with swords." Zoro, despite his tied-up predicament, couldn't hide a smirk. "Well, as someone trying to be the world's greatest swordsman, of course I would be good with swords. I would still have them if that idiot son didn't take them."
Naruto, ever the problem solver, devised a plan. "Well, I could just go get them, and Luffy could keep you company." With that, Naruto darted off, leaving the irate Zoro in the company of the ever-enthusiastic Luffy.
As Naruto infiltrated the Marine base, his agile and water-manipulating skills came into play. He stumbled upon an unexpected sight at the top – a squad of Marines led by Morgan himself. The imposing figure of Morgan stood next to a statue, a grotesque representation of the man.
"Ugly as the real thing. Let me fix it," Naruto mused, lifting Kūbyakai. With a hint of mischief, he declared, "Let's get to dicing." The result was a disfigured statue, the once-imposing figure reduced to a mockery of its former self. Morgan, incensed, bellowed, "How dare you! Men, capture him! I want him dead with my own hands!"
A chase ensued as Naruto, accompanied by the apprehended Helmeppo, skillfully navigated the base. Naruto's curiosity led him to a room adorned in pink, where Helmeppo revealed the location of Zoro's swords. "Three swords. Which one's his?" Naruto pondered, eyeing the unconscious Helmeppo on the floor.
A window offered a view of a firing squad assembling outside. Naruto, seemingly unfazed, continued his exploration. In another room, he spotted the familiar orange-haired girl from the tavern .
A casual exchange transpired, and Naruto, with a teasing grin, introduced himself. "And, by the way, the name's Naruto."
'Nami" the now named Nami, blushing, started to run off. "Well, just go do whatever you were doing. I'll be making my leave." Naruto, still grinning, looked at the closed door where Nami had left , "Hope I see a pretty face like yours around sometime."
With his detour complete, Naruto reunited with Luffy, who had already dispatched the Marines and Morgan. "Why's Zoro still tied up?" Zoro looked annoyed "Because your slow as hell what took you so long anyways."
Naruto looked a touch sheepish, "Sorry, sorry. I met someone and talked for a minute, and I got distracted. But anyways, here are your swords, Zoro."
Zoro, genuinely pleased, looked at Naruto. "Well, I guess that cements it. I guess I have to join your crew now!"
Naruto, Luffy, and Zoro exited the base, leaving behind the chaos they had inadvertently caused. Naruto turned to Zoro. "So, you're officially joining the crew, right?" Zoro, with a nod, replied, "Yeah, I gave my word. I'll join your crew until I find something better to do."
Luffy, grinning, chimed in. "Great! Now we have a swordsman on the crew." Naruto, ever curious, turned his attention to the cheering Marines. "What are they all happy about?"
"They're happy that Morgan's reign as captain is finally over. Apparently, he was as corrupt as you said he might be." Satisfied with the answer, Naruto shifted his gaze and Zoro who had stoped in his tracks.
"Give me some food; I'm starving." was the only thing Naruto heard before Zoro fell down.
Ririka and Rika observed Naruto, Luffy, Zoro, and Coby indulging in a hearty meal. The aroma filled the air as the group savored the momentary pause in their journey. Zoro, with a satisfied pat on his stomach, broke the silence. "That hits the spot."
Their camaraderie and shared adventure formed a bond that transcended the chaos they left behind. Zoro, observing Naruto and Luffy's voracious appetite, couldn't help but express his bemusement. "How the hell are you two more hungry than a man who hasn't eaten in more than three weeks?"
Naruto and Luffy, exchanging grins, replied in unison, "The food's just tasty, I guess." Zoro, amused, turned to Luffy. "So how many others have you gathered for your crew?"
Naruto, a touch sheepish, responded, "Well, right now it's just us three – Luffy as the captain, me as the vice-captain, and you as the swordsman." Zoro, eyebrow raised, questioned, "How do you expect to become the king of pirates if it's just the three of us?"
Zoro's skepticism prompted Naruto to offer reassurance. "Zoro, calm down. Every great journey has a start, and this is just ours. We will get to that point one day." Zoro, after a moment of contemplation, acknowledged, "I guess you're right."
Koby, ever curious, interjected. "Hey, you guys, do you know about the Grand Line?" Naruto, wearing a thoughtful expression, replied, "Well, I've heard rumors about it, but nothing concrete."
Koby, eager to share his newfound knowledge, animatedly explained the world's division into two halves, the Red Line, and the mysterious Grand Line. The trio, captivated by the tales of treacherous seas and legendary treasures, absorbed the significance of their journey.
Luffy, seizing the opportunity, declared, "That's the treasure I'm gonna find and become the Pirate King!" The mention of the One Piece ignited excitement in the trio.
Naruto, wearing an intrigued grin, mused aloud, "So, the end of the Grand Line is where the real adventure begins, huh?" Zoro, the stoic swordsman, added with a hint of excitement, "Sounds like a challenge. I like it."
Their shared dreams and newfound knowledge became the foundation of their journey into the unknown. The trio, along with Koby, embraced the anticipation of the adventures that awaited them in the vast and perilous seas.
Amidst their discussions, Ripper, the Marine commander, approached Luffy with a stern expression, signaling a shift in the atmosphere. Ripper, acknowledging Koby's choice to join the Marines, addressed the young pirate, "Now, about you and your friend Zoro. I can't overlook the fact that you're both pirates. You need to leave this town immediately."
Luffy, maintaining his nonchalant grin, nodded in agreement. "Sure, no problem. We were about to set sail anyway." Ripper, appreciating their cooperation, warned, "Don't let me catch you causing trouble in the future."
Luffy, exuding confidence, assured him, "You won't see us again unless you're crossing our path on the Grand Line."
With the agreement settled, Luffy and Zoro departed the town, leaving behind a mix of relieved and curious onlookers. As they walked through the town gates, Zoro glanced at Luffy. "Well, that was straightforward. We're officially on the move again."
Luffy chuckled. "Yeah, no big deal. We'll find another town, another adventure. The Grand Line is waiting for us!" And with that, the trio ventured into the horizon, setting sail towards the unknown and the promise of a legendary treasure that awaited them at the end of the Grand Line.
As the trio sailed away from the town, the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow across the azure waters. Naruto, Luffy, and Zoro gathered on the deck, their silhouettes framed by the fading sunlight. The sea breeze carried the scent of salt and adventure, and the rhythmic sound of waves against the ship created a soothing backdrop.
Naruto, leaning against the ship's railing, looked out towards the vast expanse of the ocean. "So, Zoro, tell us more about your skills with the sword. What kind of swordsman are you?" Luffy, always eager for a good fight, added, "Yeah, I wanna see those sword skills in action!"
Zoro, leaning on the ship's mast, crossed his arms. "I'm a three-sword style swordsman. I wield three swords at once, using a unique technique. They're called the Santoryu style." He pointed to the three sheaths strapped to his side, each housing a distinct blade.
Naruto's eyes lit up with curiosity. "Three swords at once? That sounds awesome! Can you show us some moves?" Luffy, his interest piqued, grinned. "Yeah, show us what you got!"
Zoro, nodding, drew his swords with practiced precision. The sunlight glinted off the steel as he moved into a relaxed stance. With swift and controlled movements, he demonstrated the fluidity of his three-sword style. Each strike seemed like a dance, a harmonious combination of strength and finesse.
Naruto, watching with keen interest, couldn't help but be impressed. "That's incredible! No wonder you're aiming to be the world's greatest swordsman." Luffy, clapping enthusiastically, added, "You're definitely gonna be a valuable member of our crew, Zoro!"
The sun stood casting shadows on the ship, casting a warm glow over the calm expanse of the ocean. The ship, now leaving Shell town behind, glided through the tranquil waters. The trio—Naruto, Luffy, and Zoro—stood together on the deck, their eyes fixed on the horizon. The recent escapades on the island lingered in their minds, yet the promise of uncharted waters fueled their excitement.
With the ship slicing through the tranquil sea, Naruto, gazing at the sea and saw some fish, "Let's catch something delicious for dinner." Luffy's eyes lit up with the prospect of a good meal, and Zoro, leaning against the ship's railing, nodded in agreement.
The trio settled into a comfortable routine, their fishing rods aimed at the reflective surface of the ocean. The soft hum of conversation filled the air, and the sun painted the sky in hues of orange and pink. It was a serene moment, a temporary pause in their adventurous journey.
As the trio resumed their fishing, the ship sailed steadily through the vast ocean. Naruto, casting his line, broke the peaceful silence. "So, Zoro, tell us more about your skills with the sword. What kind of swordsman are you?"
Zoro, adjusting his position, began sharing tales of his swordsmanship. He described his unique three-sword style and the ambition to become the world's greatest swordsman. Naruto and Luffy listened intently, their interest piqued by the skill and determination in Zoro's words.
Naruto, intrigued by the conversation, turned to Zoro. "Hey, Zoro, speaking of swords, have you seen my blade?" he asked, a playful grin on his face.
Zoro, eyebrows raised, looked at Naruto. "You have a sword too? I didn't notice."
Naruto chuckled, unhooking a unique-looking sword strapped to his back. "Yeah, this is Kūbyakai. It's not a regular sword, though. It's got some interesting properties." He unsheathed the blade, revealing the intricate design.
Luffy, having heard this before, grinned knowingly. "That's one of the Tsunami Blades, Narutos mother give it to him."
Naruto nodded, "Yeah, you remember. Kūbyakai is one of a pair. The other one is called Suiryūkai, but from the books i've heard, its known as the blade of the water dragon. and together, they are known as the Twin Tsunami Blades, but im still looking for Suiryūkai."
Zoro's interest was piqued as Naruto continued, "Legend has it that these blades were crafted by a legendary blacksmith who possessed the power of a Devil Fruit. I read in the ancient texts that the blades themselves had been given mythical devil fruits."
Luffy grinned knowingly, "And they're called Tsunami Blades because they pack a punch like a massive wave. Powerful stuff! Naruto also told me that together, they can control the power of the oceans themselves."
Naruto grinned, "Exactly. They harness the power of the sea itself. But here's the really interesting part." He revealed a intricately designed chains forming out of Kūbyakai. "These chains are imbued with the power to stop Devil Fruit users. The sea has a way of nullifying their abilities, and these chains wield that power. I think thats the power that Kūbyakai gained from the devil fruit that it was given.
Zoro, a swordsman with a deep appreciation for the art, examined the blades and chains with keen interest. "Impressive. I've never seen anything quite like this. The craftsmanship of those blades must have been extraordinary."
Naruto nodded, "The blacksmith who created these blades was truly a master. And the Devil Fruit powers infused into them make them unique. I've had these for a while now, and they've proven to be incredibly useful in some tight spots."
As Luffy looked over the Kūbyakai, Zoro couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement. A swordsman's connection to their weapon was profound, and witnessing such unique blades in action intrigued him.
Amidst their fishing, the tranquility was shattered by Luffy's sudden excitement. He pointed towards the sky, eyes wide with anticipation. "Look at that bird! I bet it would make a great catch!" Luffy's impulsive nature took over as he stretched his arm, attempting to snatch the bird from the air.
However, the bird proved to be much larger than expected. In a graceful evasion, it soared aside Luffys, leaving Luffy's outstretched arm empty. It then opened its beak and closed it around the outstretched arms and started to fly away with Luffy getting carried along.
As Luffy soared through the sky, Naruto and Zoro quickly chased after, Naruto and Zoro, sailing on their boat, unfurled a large sail to harness the wind's power. The vessel, expertly designed by Naruto's ingenuity and continuously improved over time, cut through the tranquil waters with newfound speed.
As they sailed, their eyes remained fixed on the sky, searching for any sign of Luffy and the bird. Naruto skillfully adjusted the sail to catch the most favorable wind currents, while Zoro used the oars to fine-tune their course.
"He's got to be up there somewhere," Naruto remarked, scanning the clouds for a glimpse of their rubbery friend.
Zoro nodded, his eyes focused on the horizon. "We'll catch up. Just keep the sail steady."
The ship, now a distant speck against the expansive ocean, fueled their determination. The sun continued its descent, casting a warm glow over the water, creating a picturesque scene as they sailed in pursuit of their airborne companion.
Amidst their quest, distant cries for help reached their ears. Naruto and Zoro exchanged glances, torn between their pursuit of Luffy and their inherent sense of duty to assist those in need.
"We can't ignore it," Naruto said, his expression resolute. "Let's check it out, and then we'll continue the chase."
With a coordinated effort, they adjusted the sail and oars to steer towards the distress calls. Soon, they spotted two men struggling in the water, desperately clinging to debris.
Without hesitation, Naruto and Zoro pulled the men aboard, offering them a helping hand. Gratitude filled the rescued duo's expressions, but beneath the surface, their true motives remained concealed.
As the men expressed their thanks, the atmosphere suddenly shifted. The expressions transformed into sinister smirks, and before Naruto and Zoro could react, the two revealed their true colors.
The men launched an unexpected attack, catching Naruto and Zoro off guard. The deck of the well-crafted ship became the battleground for an intense scuffle. However, Naruto and Zoro, skilled and resilient, quickly turned the tide in their favor.
With their well-honed skills, Naruto and Zoro easily dispatched the two unskilled men who had attempted to deceive them. The uncharted waters proved no match for the combined might of the devil fruit user and swordsman.
Naruto, with a annoyed expression, stood over the defeated pirates. Zoro, with a menacing glare, unsheathed one of his swords, letting the blade gleam in the sunlight. "You're lucky we're in a good mood today. Consider this a warning. If we catch you pulling anything like this again, you won't be so fortunate."
The pirates, now thoroughly frightened, nodded vigorously. Naruto and Zoro, satisfied that the lesson had been learned, allowed the defeated pair to stay on their ship tied and gagged.
Bound and defeated, the unskilled pirates lay on the ship's deck, their ill-fated plan thoroughly thwarted. Naruto and Zoro, catching their breath, exchanged a determined glance. Little did they know that the challenges they faced were just the beginning, and the uncharted waters held more surprises for them, including an island with a town that awaited them on the distant horizon.
Apologies for the extended delay. You can anticipate the next chapter within a week or even in the next few days. Anyway, peace.
If you happened to read the previous chapter I posted and found it lacking, I sincerely apologize. I was simply too exhausted to address all those issues. In an effort to make amends, I decided to add an extra 1.5k words for better cohesion.
