I forgot to mention this last chapter but the design for Izuku's villain outfit was Malleus Draconia from Twisted Wonderland, who is basically a male Maleficent. I was initially just going for basic robes (like Maleficent from the film) and Izuku being barefoot, but I thought it would look strange, especially since in Japan people take off their shoes before entering a home to keep the floor clean and outside dirt out.

Although that may change in some areas, and it will definitely apply to certain characters.

Sorry I have not updated in a while. My job drains a lot out of me and I've gotten into Resident Evil lately, focusing on getting through the games.

Izuku was flying.

Or at least…he thought he was.

He was moving above the ground at a reasonable speed.

FLAP! FLAP! FLAP!

Something was flapping loud in the background. Izuku turned and saw it was wings. Big brown wings.

How and why he got them he did not know, nor did he care. The sheer sensation of flight felt incredible. The wind in his face, the ways he could soar higher then descend, and the immense freedom of maximum mobility. It was a thrill only few could dream of.

Izuku wondered if this was how heroes like Hawks or Air Jet felt when they flew through the sky. Strangely enough, neither of them ever talked about it during interviews nor did anyone think to ask.

As he soared through the sky, Izuku took note of the land he was flying over. He could see there were multiple trees and rivers stretching throughout the area indicating that the region was a forest, however, there were some mountains.

He wasn't alone either. Not counting the birds in the sky, Izuku noticed (what he assumed were) several animals with unusual shapes. Because he was so high up it was hard to see properly.

Curious, he descended to get a closer look, his hair slipping just past his eyes. Wait! Izuku halted mid-air. Something wasn't right.

His hair was green, short, and fluffy. Not brown, long, and silky smooth.

He looked down at his hands and legs. They were different, feminine even. And his clothes, he was definitely wearing a dress.

Descending further down to where the river was, he landed just on the rocks. Moving to where the water was to see his reflection. He gazed into the water and what gazed back wasn't Izuku.

It was a girl.

A beautiful girl. She had long brown hair and vibrant green eyes, but her most striking feature was the horns above her head. Her facial features showed she was not Japanese, but perhaps from Europe. And her wings, oh God her wings, they were huge. How was she able to walk around with them like that?

Sparks suddenly started to fly from his hand, or more like a yellowish aura. Izuku gazed at it mesmerized. He then looked back at the girl's reflection.

"Who?" not his voice came out.

Izuku's Apartment

Izuku's eyes fluttered open. Glancing around slowly he noticed that he was in his bedroom.

"What the?" he couldn't remember falling asleep, or even coming in here.

Trying to sit up, Izuku felt a sharp stab of pain in his head. A headache. Well, he had been through worse. Then nausea started causing Izuku to run to the bathroom and puke out whatever was there.

He groaned in pain. "Maybe I should go see a doctor. It's not like I was gonna go to school today, or tomorrow."

After yesterday, maybe he should consider a vacation. Thanks to his father, it was well within his price range. The man himself would not bat an eyelash, so long as Izuku didn't cause him any trouble. He doubted the school would notice his absence. Sure, they might call, but a couple of simple explanations and they'd drop it. He could have been going straight to Hell and they wouldn't bat an eyelash. That was the way things were for him.

After cleaning himself up Izuku switched on the TV while preparing tea. Much to his shock, it was two in the afternoon.

'How in the? I wasn't that tired!' Izuku's eyes were frozen at the screen.

Taking out his phone he checked for news updates only to be further shocked when he saw the main headlines (for once) was not about heroes or villain attacks. They were about the light show at Musutafu Forest that not only caused several weather phenomena but also left many from the city without power until an hour ago. Suspicions ranged from a villain attack, or an earthquake, to illegal quirk usage. However, nothing had been confirmed.

'N-N-No way! That was real?!' Izuku was dumbfounded. 'But then, how did I get back? And where is that thing from?'

It wasn't a dream if that's what you're thinking.

Izuku's eyes darted around the room. It had to have been.

Izuku, I'm on the couch.

And it was. There on his couch lay the sceptre from last night. The green light it emitted before was not present, but it was the same sceptre.

"Oh my God," he whispered.

I think you Gods dear. There is more than one. A lot more.

Well, that was a revelation he didn't see coming. Magic being real was shocking enough.

"I-I-I did that," he stuttered. Grabbing his phone, he scrolled through the reports. "Was anyone hurt?" Much to his relief, the only people who were hurt were from a few minor villain attacks or drunken fights, not the blackout. No one died thankfully. "Ah!"

You were lucky. Some individuals destroy buildings upon using me for the first time, especially if they are someone who just unlocked their magic.

Izuku felt sweat begin to creep out of his skin. Back when he took the sceptre, he was too caught up in the moment to even consider the collateral damage he could have caused. He was extremely lucky to have been in an isolated area and not a city centre.

"What do you mean by 'unlocked their magic'?" he asked confused. "I never had magic. And I'm sure the doctor would have picked up on it when I went to get checked for a quirk."

No, he would not. Quirks are fairly easy to detect, be it visibly or through those strange contraptions of yours. Magic is trickier. It can conceal itself in numerous ways that quirks cannot.

That just made Izuku's curiosity grow.

Now to answer your question, magic is something that exists in every living being. And I mean every. Unlocking it is a relatively simple matter, however, certain conditions must be met. Similar to quirks, the person must be over the age of five years in their respective species, and they must also do it via an object like the sceptre to help channel it or have another magic user do it for them. Although, this is only necessary for those whose family has not utilized magic for generations. There are some side effects such as exhaustion, dehydration, and starvation, but they aren't too serious and can be quickly resolved.

Izuku slowly digested the information and nodded. If magic was used regularly by a person at some point, then it was highly possible there had been a magical community much like the quirk community today. What about now? Are they in hiding or have I seen them and just thought it was a quirk? Did that mean there were different types of magic? Like summoning fire, controlling the weather, or summoning spirits? If so, what would be the protocol surrounding them?

Do you always do that?

"Huh?" Izuku looked confused.

Muttering I mean. You were doing it just now.

Izuku mentally berated himself. "Sorry. I usually do that with quirks. Since I never got one, I took to analysing them which led me to… well, you know."

Izuku got the distinct feeling the sceptre was, if it could, raising an eyebrow.

I see. Well, I suppose it could be worse. Izuku smirked. To answer your questions. Magical communities did exist at one point. However, it has dwindled much since my time. I don't even know if there are any sorcerers left. There wasn't the last time the sceptre was used. Izuku could detect a hint of sadness in her voice. Although, the possibility of hiding is likely. They have done it many times in the past. There are multiple types of magic, including the ones you just listed. Casting them is a bit more complicated as you must have a level of knowledge and understanding of the spell, and a suitable medium to cast it. Izuku was curious as to what a medium was, but the voice was not done. We'll get more into that later. For now, get your strength up first and then we'll start with the basics.

Izuku nodded as he picked up the sceptre, a small grin coming to his face. He was excited. Years of being ridiculed for not having a quirk and now he was going to learn magic.

The image of Bakugo and Aldera sprang to mind causing his expression to darken. His anger beginning to build up.

'I swear once I'm trained up, I'll show him a thing or two!' Izuku's fury began to feed the sceptre which began to glow. 'I'll show them all!'

He bent the sceptre downward and a burst of green energy fired from it, setting the couch on fire.

It took Izuku a second to realize what he had done before he started screaming hysterically. He rushed to the fire extinguisher and frantically deployed the substance to quell the flame. It took less than a minute and by the end of the ordeal, Izuku was left on the floor panting.

Through some miracle, the smoke alarms hadn't gone off, meaning no one had been alerted.

"Hey um, would it be alright if we practised in a place where no one would notice us, or get hurt, probably?" he asked still in shock.

That was the general idea. Sarcasm dripped off her voice and Izuku hated it.

With Izuku

Much to Izuku's relief, no one was around. Since he wanted privacy, he travelled to a part of the beach people actively avoided because of the rocks and litter.

As a bonus, he managed to get here without arousing any suspicion, in part due to the sceptre. Somehow, it managed to turn itself into a keychain to make carrying easier. It also saved Izuku the trouble of having to use the cosplay excuse.

"Okay so, what was that?" he asked.

Are you referring to when you nearly burnt down your living space along with others?

"What else?" Izuku deadpanned. "I thought you said casting a spell required knowledge and understanding."

Oh, it does. However, emotions play as much a vital role. The stronger an individual's feelings are, the stronger a spell will be. For instance, back the apartment you were angry at that boy. That anger and desire to hurt them created the fire. Emotions like anger, rage, and hate can be incredibly powerful but also uncontrollably dangerous because of the damage they can cause.

Izuku understood. As much as he wanted revenge, he had no desire to harm those who had done him no wrong.

The explanation did give him an idea.

"You said my emotions fuelled it, right?" he asked.

That is correct.

"In that case, if I were to focus them on a specific target while thinking about what I want to do, would it happen?" he continued.

Hmm. I know what you are describing but whether or not you can actually do it.

Instead of waiting for an answer, Izuku decided to perform a little experiment. Doing what he did before in the apartment, he focused on a small piece of garbage, envisioning it on fire, and aimed the sceptre. Like before, a green burst of energy fired setting the garbage on fire, much to Izuku's joy.

He tried it again with a rock to get the same result (though the fire quickly died).

The third time, he aimed at a much larger rock and envisioned it being destroyed. The sceptre unleashed a stronger burst of energy that blew the whole thing apart, creating several small rocks in the process.

"WOO HOO!" Izuku shouted ecstatically jumping up and down. "I DID IT! I DID IT! OH YEAH! I CAN DO THIS!"

The sceptre's host herself was impressed. This boy was getting the hang of this fast.

Aiming again, Izuku imagined one of the rocks coming towards him, this time charging the sceptre with his sheer happiness.

The spell was… successful, sort of. It did bring the rock to Izuku… at a very high speed… which collided directly with his crotch.

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Izuku let out a high-pitched squeal as he collapsed to his knees before his face slammed into the sand.

The sceptre glimmered faintly. On second thought.

Across the city

It was a quiet day in Musutafu City. A very quiet day.

Citizens went about their daily routines. Others remained at home because there was no power in their workplace or schools and several trains were out. Heroes patrolled their respective areas while the police remained on standby. However, there were no villain attacks or accidents that warranted anyone's attention, something not so unusual but more so rare. Indeed, it was a rare quiet day.

Although, quiet did not necessarily mean silent. The light show from Musutafu Forest had become the talk of the town or country in this case. The event was all over the news, both national and international. Citizens were discussing it with their neighbours while those online started spreading various theories about what could have happened.

None had been able to grasp the true nature of the event.

"Typical," the man muttered as he strode through the forest to the source of the event.

There had been investigations by the heroes and police, but of course, neither of them knew exactly what to look for, or how to look for it. Fortunately, he did.

After "politely" asking the police officer to let him take a look around he strolled through the forest taking in the scenery, admiring it, but also admitting he had seen better. He followed the faint traces of magic to where the incident had taken place. Whoever was behind last night was clearly an amateur. Why else would they leave such obvious evidence of spell casting?

Arriving at what he assumed was the area of origin, he held his hand out for more traces and knew for certain that this was the place.

Whatever had been contained here was powerful, that much was obvious. But what? He had a faint idea, but he needed more facts to be sure.

Standing at the centre, he raised his staff up and brought it straight down into the ground. "Invenire Magus!" All at once, an orange light covered the entire area. Light began to gather more sharply until it condensed into a single point.

"Hmm, found you," the man smirked. The dot began to expand as images began to appear like on a TV screen. "Not just an amateur, a child also." He watched him casting magic with… the man's eyes widened in shock before switching to an amused smile. "Well, well, I only suspected but didn't believe. Maleficent's Sceptre. This just got a whole lot more interesting." He then focused on the green-haired child on the ground. "Ooh, that's gotta hurt. Regardless of species or status, a blow to the lower section is always devastating."

Ending the spell, he proceeded to leave the forest.

"I'd better go introduce myself. One can only imagine the trouble an unsupervised sorcerer can get into," he said sarcastically. "And I'm speaking from experience."

Hmm, now who was that watching Izuku? Questions, questions.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Izuku is not going to be a prodigy with his newfound power. He's going to struggle to master it. That's one of the things I like about his canon counterpart because he has to work to get it the way it is.

This story has also gone through some changes in who will be on Izuku's side and the roles of certain villains. Also, I've been inspired by the MCU and other sources and hope to incorporate magic elements from them in the future. I'm going to try and keep chapters shorter as well, but that will probably not stick.

Hope you enjoyed reading!
