Chapter Fifty
Reporting in
After breakfast, Loki called the Knights into his workshop to show them the little gadgets he had put together.
Tyroth and Sephie watched proudly as their son explained how the gadgets worked.
Loki picked up a remote and as he did, he made the two of the gadgets, a couple of flies buzz around the heads of the knights and on an iPad screen, it showed the footage through the eyes of the flying bug.
"Wow! Talk about a fly on the wall!" Jake exclaimed as he adjusted his glasses.
"Yeah!" Amber agreed.
Percy meanwhile smirked evilly as he picked up a spider gadget and was about to put it on Kate's shoulder when Loki saw him and pressed a button on the remote control.
As the Geckoling did that, Percy gave a yell and he shoot up in the air and jerked as a shot of electricity ran through him and he landed with a plop on his backside and a bit of smoke wafted up from his body.
Kate jumped as she turned around, as did the other Knights and when they saw Percy on the ground looking dazed as well as holding the spider in one hand, they began to piece together what had happened.
"Looks like Percy's Prank didn't work out the way he hoped!" Jack smirked.
'And he was the one who got the shock!" Sarah said, "Thank God I didn't get that!" she muttered to herself.
"I saw what you were about to do Hoppy, so I thought I'd teach you what else my little friends do!" Loki chuckled and Tyroth gave the Grasshopper a knowing smirk and frown.
"Good job trickster!" he said.
"I don't know if that shocker from this guy was worse, or when Diablo's Eel Disciple's given me one of her own!" Percy slurred.
Sephie picked up the grasshopper by the back of his shirt and pulled him to his feet.
"Well, now you've sampled that shocker, you behave a listen to Loki, otherwise you'll get more than just a shocker!" she scolded.
"Yes mother!" Percy groaned rolling his eyes.
Kate smirked at him then looked at Loki mouthing 'Thank you' to which Loki winked at the viper.
"So anyway." Loki said, "These little guys will be useful to get into places you can't get close enough to listen and observe, they can short circuit electrics so as to disable alarms, and they can unlock doors!"
"You're a genius Loki!" Jack grinned and picked up on of the gadgets that was shaped like a mouse.
"I think we're going to find out a lot more on our next mission!"
Loki grinned and looked at his parents who smiled proudly at him.
"Okay gang." Tyroth said "I'll meet you in the Dojo in an hour, I just need to…"
He didn't finish his sentence as he looked over to the door of the workshop to see Vincent the Owl standing there.
"Vincent?" he asked, "Everything alright?"
"Hi boss!" the owl said, "Sorry to be a pain, but Hugh's here."
"Hugh!?" everyone cried in unison.
The owl nodded.
"He arrived just ten minutes ago, he's in the canteen and he wants to see you boss!" he said pointing at Tyroth.
"I see." Tyroth said with a frown "it must be serious if he's down here instead of calling me like he did before."
He looked at the Knights who all stared at him.
"Okay everyone, you stay here, and Loki will distribute the gadgets and show you how to use them, then when I'm done with Hugh, we'll meet in the Dojo to discuss our next move, but again, no word of this to the Hamato Clan!"
"You got it!" the Knights said in stereo.
Tyroth nodded at them then took Sephie's hand and walked out of the workshop following Vincent.
After he left, the Knights turned back to Loki.
"I wonder what's happened?" Sharky asked.
"If anyone's thinking it…. Diablo."
Everyone gasped and Jake went pale.
"Either that." The Wolf said, "Or it's another incident like the gunman getting attacked in the shop he held up and that man who was killed by a car the other night."
"Well, the boss will fill us in on that later." Amber said, "In the meantime."
She looked at Loki "Can you fill us in on how to use these doo-hickeys Trickster?" she asked.
"You got it Aunt Amber!" Loki grinned "Now, gather people!" he said, and everyone leaned in to listen and watch.
Meanwhile, Vincent, Tyroth and Sephie arrived at the canteen where they saw Hugh sitting at one of the tables sipping coffee and eating a sandwich which Patch had provided him with when he arrived.
Also on the table was a folder and Tyroth could see some papers sticking out of them.
"I wonder what this is all about." He mused as he approached the table.
"Guess we'll find out." Sephie said.
As the Dragon and Gecko approached the table, Hugh looked up.
"Ah Big T." he said putting down his mug of coffee then he looked around the room, luckily there was no-one about apart from Bill the Duck who was reading a magazine at a table at the far end of the room, Chloe the Butterfly was sitting near the entrance reading a romance novel whilst listening to some music through a pair of earphones and Louie was in the kitchen listening to the radio and making preparations for lunch with Patch helping him.
"What's going on Hugh?" Tyroth asked narrowing his eyes.
"Something big Dragon man." Hugh said in a low voice then he opened the folder and took out some photos which he handed to the Gecko and Dragon.
The couple looked at them and both looked appalled.
"What in the name of Valhalla?" Tyroth asked looking at the ginger haired police officer before him.
"That was my reaction too!" Hugh replied.
The photos showed the bodies of three thugs, all with slashed throats as well as cuts to their faces and the first one had been stabbed in the abdomen.
"A 911 call came in earlier in the evening from a concerned resident in the city saying they heard screams as well as sounds of a scuffle, when the police arrived, they found this guy." He pointed to the first photograph of the thug with his slashed throat and stabbed stomach.
"In one alleyway, and these two." He pointed at the other photographs "About half a mile away in another alleyway."
Sephie and Tyroth frowned.
"What are you saying?" Sephie asked.
"According to what the forensics believe, whoever attacked them killed one, the other two tried to flee but they were chased and hunted down." Hugh replied.
"I see." Tyroth mused.
"We also found a cell phone next to the first dead guy, and we were able to find footage of a filmed attack on two young women."
Sephie's eyes widened, and her face went red with anger as memories of when Monalisa told her of how she had been abused and raped before she was mutated.
Smoke appeared from Tyroth's nostrils when he heard that.
"You mean those three dead thugs were attacking a couple of innocent women before they were killed?"
Hugh nodded.
"Right now, we're trying to find the two women so they can give statements on what happened, as there are no other witnesses."
"Right." Tyroth mused then studied the photos more.
"There's something else as well." Hugh said taking out a piece of paper from the folder "I got updates on the previous attacks."
Sephie and Tyroth put down the photos and leaned in to listen.
"Go ahead." Tyroth said.
Hugh looked at the paper before him and looked at Sephie and Tyroth.
"The gunman who held up the shop, he's been charged with possession of a deadly weapon, wrongful imprisonment, and attempted robbery, so he's not going anywhere for a while."
"That's a relief." Tyroth said and Sephie agreed.
"Though the doctors who treated him at the hospital for his wounds, I learnt that the wounds on his leg where he was slashed, they look very much like the wounds on those thugs in the photos!" Hugh said.
Sephie frowned.
"So, you think that whoever killed those thugs was the same attacker?"
"More than likely." Hugh replied, "But again, there's no evidence."
"What about the man who was killed by the automobile?" Tyroth asked.
"We interviewed his wife, but she still has no idea of who it was who attacked her husband, apart from the clothes they were wearing, which is similar to who attacked the gunman, so I can only theorise that these attacks were all done by the same person."
"And we still have no idea who or what." Tyroth growled.
Hugh nodded.
"Afraid so Dragon man." He spoke.
"And we still don't know if it was Diablo or someone else." Tyroth sighed and rested his chin on his hands "Another dead end!"
Sephie placed her hand on her mate's shoulder in an act to comfort him.
Hugh also sighed.
"Well, we're investigating all that happened, and I'll keep you updated, I promise." He said, picking up his coffee and having another sip.
"Much appreciated my friend." Tyroth said with a smile.
Hugh nodded at the Dragon.
"You're welcome to stay down here until you're ready to go back." Sephie said "Well you know that already." She chuckled.
Hugh nodded.
"That I do lass." He replied.
Tyroth nodded then he frowned looking at his mate.
"What is it hun?" Sephie asked.
"Before Vincent came to tell us Hugh was here." Tyroth informed "I was going to tell them I planned to speak to Master Splinter about the Foot being in Chicago."
"WHAT!?" Sephie shrieked yet she covered her mouth and looked around where luckily no-one looked up.
"Sorry, I mean…what?" she whispered.
Tyroth narrowed his eyes.
"Well given Leonardo's in Japan with Kemeko, the best person to tell is Splinter, He's their sensei and out of all of the clan, I believe he will take the news better than the others, despite the traumas they've gone through."
"You got a point." Sephie said "And I hope he understands why we've kept this from the others."
"He should." Tyroth said rubbing his snout "I'm gonna go and find him." He looked at Sephie.
"Find the Knights and say we'll meet in the Dojo before lunch to discuss our next move."
"For sure love." Sephie said as Tyroth stood up and walked out of the Canteen.
Hugh watched him go.
"I hope the rat takes the news well." He sighed "Give what happened."
Sephie nodded.
"How are they coping?" Hugh asked, "The turtles, Mona and Pandora?"
Sephie bit her lip.
"They're coping in their own way, I'm hoping things are going well for Leo and Kemeko in Japan, Pandora's still keeping to herself, Michelangelo's a lot quieter than before, Raphael's still unable to speak…." She trailed off slightly and Hugh looked sad.
"Any indications he may be able to talk again?" he asked.
"Well, he's still having treatments with Devina, James and Dahlia, and so far, he's been able to make more sounds than just hissing or wheezing, but he still got a way to go." Sephie admitted.
Hugh nodded sadly.
"For his family's sake and his, I hope he will be able to speak again."
"Me too." Sephie agreed.
So Loki has shown the Knights his gadgets to help them on their missions and Hugh has arrived to inform Tyroth of Pandora's attack on the thugs, yet no-one knows it was her!
Now Tyroth has gone to speak to Master Splinter! How will that go? Well tune in to find out!
