It was nearly opening time when Ralph rode the cart back into 'Fix-It Felix Jr.' And although this morning appeared like any other, something felt off as he stepped onto the station platform.
A low hum filled the air, growing louder with each passing second. Looking up, Ralph observed as Sergeant Calhoun from 'Hero's Duty' soared through the air on her hoverboard. As she dove down towards the exit tunnel, time seemed to slow down as she flew past him.
Ralph blinked as she looked back at him with a strained smile, looking like she'd just been caught with her hand in the proverbial cookie jar.
As the sound of her aircraft dissolved, the unmistakable noise of Gene's incoherent ranting pulled the wreckers' attention to the apartment building.
The front doors burst open and Felix jumped down the stairs, putting on his signature cap and tucking in his work shirt. At his ankles was Gene, barking like a chihuahua.
"Ay yai yai…" the wrecker sighed at the picture being painted before him.
By the time Ralph neared the apartments, Gene and Felix had ended their "conversation," both angrily settling into their starting positions.
"Uh, hey–"
"Ralph," Felix spun around, sounding agitated as he put on his gloves. "Do me a favor and please throw our dear mayor as hard and as far as you can today. Just chuck him, please."
"Yes sir," the wrecker saluted with a grin, taking delight in their shared displeasure towards Gene more than he probably should.
Rubbing his large hands together, he proceeded to his mark off-screen, eagerly awaiting the moment to avenge his friend.
