I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the Main OC. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.

Chapter Fourteen

It was a nice bright morning on the Boiling Isles. Eda was out and about in the Human Realm gathering more merch for her stand. As for Danielle and King, they were in the living room of the Owl House, reading a pamphlet for Hexside School of Magic and Demonics.

"Whoa, so that's how Hexside came to be," said Danielle, looking at the pamphlet as she scratches King's back.

"Hey! Less read-y, more scratchy!" said King, rolling onto his back. "Oh, right there."

"Someone is enjoying this," said Danielle, looking at King. "I'll be attending Hexside soon. I have to figure out which tracks I want to study under. I already know potions and plants to support Eda and Willow. Still debating on illusions. Already ex-nayed abominations."

"Hey, freeloaders!" said Eda, kicking the front door open. "Guess what today is?"

"Human garbage day," replied Danielle, sitting up.

"Is it my birthday?" asked King, staring at Eda, wagging his tail.

"It's my birthday!" said Hooty, proudly.

"The winner is Danielle," said Eda, closing the front door. "It's human treasure day! Ahh, fresh garbage."

"Ooo, gimme, gimme, gimme!" said King, running over and grabbing a teddy bear. "Yes! Another worthy addition to my army of terror! Truly horrifying!"

"Yo, kid. Your trash pile's getting cold. While mine's getting hot!" said Eda, grabbing a clothes hanger. "I have never seen such an extravagant earring."

"Those are clothes hangers," said Danielle, staring at Eda. "But I do love a good arts and crafts so we can make them into actual earrings."

"Now you're thinking," said Eda, ruffling Danielle's hair.

"I'll be studying soon with Willow, Gus, and Amity," said Danielle, looking back at the pamphlet. "I'll be heading out for a bit. Amity wanted to return my book today. Love ya guys."

"And I love you, Dan…" said Hooty, as Danielle walked out and closed the front door.

"I'll see if I can make you some wuzetka," said Danielle, petting Hooty, "For your birthday that is."

"Sounds delicious," said Hooty, before wondering as Danielle walks away. "What is wuzetka?"

Walking towards Bonesborough, Danielle searches around the market area as Amity wanted that as the meetup point. Spotting Amity, Danielle walks a bit faster.

"Hi Amity," said Danielle, waving to get Amity's attention.

"Hi Danielle," said the twins, blocking Danielle's path.

"Hey Emira," said Danielle, gripping her bag strap. "Hey Edric."

"Edric! Emira! Stop bothering her!" said Amity, running over. "Sorry, Danielle, they insisted on coming for some reason."

"It's okay," said Danielle, looking at Amity.

"Because we love you, baby sister!" said Emira, squishing Amity's face before being pushed away. "Ah!"

"They've been extra protective and nice towards me to make up for the library incident," said Amity, fixing her hair.

"And we still apologize everyday," said Edric, leaning into Amity.

"In any case, here's your book," said Amity, pushing Edric away and taking the book out of her bag.

"Did ya enjoy it?" asked Danielle, grabbing her book.

"It was… pretty good," said Amity, looking away. "Different from the Azura books but still pretty good."

"I brought the other two books," said Danielle, putting the book in her messenger bag and grabbing the other two books. "Would you like to borrow them as well?"

"Wow, the third one is thicker," replied Amity, grabbing the two books. "Sure."

"Yeah, the last one is the thickest," said Danielle, tapping her foot on the ground. "You can return it when we're classmates."

"Classmates?" said Amity, quirking her eyebrow.

"I'm enrolling at Hexside," said Danielle, looking at Amity. "I'm still figuring out which tracks I'm gonna study under."

"Oh, well you definitely have the two spell requirement for the advanced class," said Amity, grabbing the pamphlet from Danielle. "But you also need to know the basic runes."

"Which I have been studying as well," said Danielle, looking at Amity.

"Oh well, then I guess you're pretty much set," said Amity, rolling the pamphlet while looking to the side.

"Quit giving her a hard time, Mittens," said Emira, coming out from behind Amity.

"Oooh! Brain idea!" said Edric, pointing at his head.

"What if we all trained together?" asked Emira, leaning on Amity. "We could show off what we know!"

"What do you say, Danielle?" asked Edric, looking at Danielle.

"I have no problem with that," said Danielle, looking at Amity and the twins. "But I bet Eda would like to get in one more good lesson with me before I'm officially at Hexside. If we're in the same vicinity, we could."

"Awesome," said the twins, high fiving each other.

"I best be going now," said Danielle, waving bye as she walks away. "Nice seeing you guys today."

Walking back to the Owl House, Danielle kicks off her boots at the entrance before heading towards the kitchen. Eda was trying to cook but the vegetables she magicked to life scurried off.

"Hey Eda," said Danielle, entering the kitchen. "Everything good?"

"The food ran off," said Eda, before seeing the food ensnared in a plant near Danielle. "You're really inventive with those glyphs."

"Have to be," said Danielle, sitting down on the windowsill. "So when's our last big lesson before I attend Hexside?"

"There will be plenty of other lessons with me. Like seducing," said Eda, striking a pose before looking at Danielle. "But your right, this looks like a job for magic boot camp."

"Did someone say boot camp? I agree to run it," said King, opening the back door. "We'll rise at dawn! You'll carry me on your back as I yell hateful things about your performance!"

"I'd rather you didn't say hurtful things," said Danielle, looking at King.

"Nope. You'll have no part in this," said Eda, staring at King. "Danielle needs to focus, and I can't have her get distracted when you do something adorable."

"I am not adorable!" said King, stomping his foot.

"Aww," said Danielle, staring at King's cute action.

"Now, no time to waste. You'll have to follow my teachings exactly. We gotta go somewhere special," said Eda, walking out of the kitchen and towards a specific closet. "A place where magic energy just flows."

"Uh, Eda," said Danielle, being handed winter garb. "These aren't made from wool, are they?"

"No, they're made from my hair," replied Eda, putting on her winter garb. "Why?"

"I'm allergic to wool, not to the point of anaphylaxis but it's pretty bad" said Danielle, looking at Eda. "Not a pretty sight."

"Oh, okay then," said Eda, looking at Danielle. "I'll have to remember that."

Leaving the Owl House, Eda and Danielle mount Eda's staff and head towards the Knee. Dismounting at a certain point, Eda and Danielle walk up the rest of the way.

"A place like, the Knee!" said Eda, gesturing to the environment around them. "The earliest witches came to the Knee to develop their magic, drawn to its natural power."

"So, it's a magic hot spot," said Danielle, looking at her surroundings.

"Though, it's not without its dangers," said Eda, gesturing to a nearby beast. "The Slitherbeast! Don't worry, if you don't mess with him, he won't mess with you."

"Okay, got it," said Danielle, following Eda.

"Here's where we'll set up shop," said Eda, stopping at a certain area.

"Crisp cold air, scenic views, best place for a magic lesson" said Danielle, before dodging a fireball sent her way. "Whoa!"

"Sorry, whoever's over there!" shouted Amity, nearby with her siblings.

"Hey, Danielle!" said Edric, recognizing Danielle. "Hey, it's us!"

"Hello!" said Emira, waving her hand alongside Edric.

"Hey guys," said Danielle, walking over. "This is where your training?"

"Yup," said the twins, staring at Danielle and Eda as they walk over.

"Who are they?" asked Eda, staring at Amity and the twins.

"Amity Blight and her twin siblings Emira and Edric," replied Danielle, gesturing to the Blight Siblings.

"Ah, Alador and Odalia's kids," said Eda, squinting her eyes.

"How's training going so far?" asked Danielle, staring at Amity.

"Okay, I guess," replied Amity, looking to the side. "I'm trying to beat Ed and Em's highest score on the exam."

"Why do you have to beat their scores?" asked Danielle, looking at Amity.

"Most in likely cause of Odalia," said Eda, hands on her hips. "Trying to push her perfectionism onto you. She was annoying back in the day about that. I'll be back."

"Okay," said Danielle, seeing Eda walk away for a bit.

"Amity still needs to use a training wand to learn new spells," said Edric, popping up from behind Amity. "So what are you workin' on? Something powerful?"

"I don't know what Eda is going to teach me yet," replied Danielle, looking at Edric. "But from the environment, it's probably ice or snow based."

"Danielle! I shall now teach you how to identify different types of snow… by taste!" said Eda, walking back over with a basket full of snowballs. "Go on, eat the snow."

"Oh, I've eaten snow before," said Danielle, holding a snowball. "I've made ice cream with snow every year with Gramma."

"That-That's not what I mean," said Eda, looking at Danielle. "Eat the snow as is and identity it by taste."

"Like discerning rock salt from sea salt," said Danielle, looking at Eda than the snowball. "I didn't know snow could be like that as well."

"Oooh. Brain freeze! Brain freeze!" said Eda, swallowing a mouthful of snowballs.

"See you around, human! Good luck with your, uh, training," said Emira, before slapping a snowball out of Edric's hand.

"Aw," said Edric, being pulled away by Emira.

"Easy there Eda," said Danielle, helping Eda.

"Well, that's over. We've covered snow, so now it's on to smelling moss," said Eda, getting over her brain freeze before grabbing some moss and sticking it up her nose. "Now the trick is, you really gotta get it up in there."

"This lesson is…" said Danielle, watching Eda. "Uniquely disgusting."

Setting up a campfire, Eda had Danielle start learning her lesson. Identifying the smells of rocks. Tasting the snow. Smelling moss. And arranging twigs from big to small.

"Okay, I've done all the tasks," said Danielle, breathing heavy before taking off her scarf, gloves and jacket. "Eda, I think these have wool in them."

"What?" said Eda, seeing rashes on Danielle. "Don't scratch them."

"I know," said Danielle, still breathing heavy.

"Calm down," said Eda, placing a healing spell on Danielle. "Just let my magic do its work."

"Is everything okay over there?" shouted Amity, looking in the direction of Danielle and Eda.

"Allergy reaction," shouted Eda, still continuing her spell, waving it up and down the rashes. "This may take a while. You really do have a bad case."

"I can help," said Emira, running over with Edric and Amity before starting up her own healing spell. "What is she reacting to?"

"Are you…" said Edric, seeing the article of clothes on the ground and picking them up. "Allergic to a type of fabric?"

"Wool," replied Danielle, trying to breathe. "I'm allergic to wool."

"That's not good," said Edric, staring at Danielle. "You've got to be cold."

"Better cold than…" said Danielle, stopping herself from coughing and rubbing her eyes. "Amity, can you get my bag? I have some medicines in there."

"On it," said Amity, grabbing Danielle's bag and handing it over. "Here."

"It won't work right away," said Danielle, taking out her medicine and downing it. "Ugh, nasty stuff but it will help once it kicks in."

"I think I have a lesson for you," said Amity, holding her training wand out. "You saw earlier that my spell circle is magenta right?"

"Yeah," replied Danielle, looking at Amity.

"Training wands are battery operated but it can also pick up on your being just from that slight touch so whenever you cast with it, you'll see what color your magic is," said Amity, conjuring a spell circle.

"Mine and Emira's look the same," said Edric, grabbing the wand and conjuring a spell circle. "But if you look a little closer, you can see a slight difference in color."

"That's actually pretty neat," said Danielle, before Edric placed the training wand before her. "Wha… are you sure?"

"Aren't you curious about what color yours is?" asked Edric, holding the training wand out.

"Yeah… I actually am," said Danielle, touching the training wand gently before conjuring a small spell circle. "Whoa… so pretty."

"I've never seen one like that," said Amity, staring at the bright sky-blue color of the spell circle with multi-colored shimmering stars twirling around it.

"Some-Something's wrong," said Danielle, losing control of the training wand as it blasts a sparkly stream towards the forest. "I don't understand. Why'd it do that?"

"The batteries low," said Amity, looking at the training wand. "But it was still mostly full."

"Too much magic was used up in that single shot. It doesn't…" said Eda, only to see the training disintegrate and blown to the wind. "Something overwrote the magic in the training wand, but how…"

"Was that…" said Amity, hearing a roar before seeing the Slitherbeast jump over the trees and landing before them. "The Slitherbeast!"

"Oh my gosh," said Danielle, noticing a wound on the Slitherbeast. "My magic hurt it."

"Watch out!" shouted Eda, pushing Danielle towards Emira as the Slitherbeast grabs her.

"Eda!" shouted Danielle, only for Emira run in front of her.

"Stay there!" said Emira, before looking at the Slitherbeast. "Aw, he's so cute. Can we keep him?"

"It's no bat, but we could try," said Edric, joining Emira in restraining the Slitherbeast with their magic.

"You got it! Now finish it off!" shouted Eda, staring at the Blight Siblings.

"Amity, here," said Danielle, grabbing her notepad and tearing a page out. "Use this glyph, just think of what you want it to be!"

"Wha… but… I never used something like this," said Amity, grabbing the piece of paper before hearing the Slitherbeast roar and freeing itself. "Edric! Emira!"

"No!" shouted Danielle, activating the glyph too late as the vines miss the Slitherbeast as it runs past her and Amity. "Eda! We got to do something!"

"I am going after them," said Amity, staring in the direction the Slitherbeast went. "You are staying here to recover."

"But the Slitherbeast has Eda and your siblings," said Danielle, standing up and staring at Amity. "I can't just sit by and do nothing."

"Stay put," said Amity, conjuring a spell circle which conjured a cage around Danielle. "You'll only get hurt."

"Hey!" shouted Danielle, seeing Amity run in the direction of the Slitherbeast before sitting on a rock. "I was supposed to learn something here from nature but I goofed up cause my allergy got the better of me."

Staring up at the sky as the stars start to appear, Danielle sees the constellation that gave her her first glyph. Snow begins to fall, as she lets a snowflake land on her extended hand.

"What the? A glyph," said Danielle, looking at the snowflake. "Wait, I've seen this one in specific combinations. It's a single glyph like the light, fire and plant ones."

Standing up, Danielle starts to draw the new glyph within the cage. Smiling, Danielle activates it, a decorative pillar rises up before it becomes a staircase with railings.

"And I'll rise like the break of dawn," sang Danielle, before giggling as she climbs down the steps. "Oh, I'm going to like this glyph a lot."

Running in the direction Amity went, Danielle sets off a plant glyph on herself to craft a cold resistance coat made of tangled leaves. Spotting a cave, Danielle enters it and spots Eda and the twins pinned to the wall with goop. Seeing Amity nearby hiding behind a boulder, Danielle quietly runs over to her.

"Amity," whispered Danielle, gaining Amity's attention.

"Danielle!" said Amity, looking at Danielle. "H-how did you get past the barrier?"

"Ice magic and good inspiration from a movie," replied Danielle, looking at Amity. "I got a plan but we have to work together to get it to work."

Whispering the plan into Amity's ear, they enact their plan. Whistling, Danielle garners the Slitherbeast's attention before running out of the cave with the Slitherbeast in hot pursuit. Grabbing an ice glyph, Danielle activates it on the ground as the ice encases around the Slitherbeast. Struggling against its confines, the Slitherbeast sees Danielle approach it with a pink glowing ring of petals around her hands before she places it on its wounds, as a soothing sensation is felt.

"There we go, does that feel better?" asked Danielle, looking at the Slitherbeast. "I'm sorry about that burst of magic hitting you, I don't even know how that was possible with me."

"Danielle!" shouted Eda, running towards her with the Blight Siblings. "Are you… healing the Slitherbeast?"

"Yes, it's the right thing to do," replied Danielle, finishing her healing. "Off you go now."

"Nice work, kiddo," said Eda, ruffling Danielle's hair as the Slitherbeast wonders off.

"You showed some real bravery in there, sis," said Emira, looking at Amity.

"Yeah, nice work, kiddo," said Edric, ruffling Amity's hair.

"Alright, let's go home," said Eda, sneezing. "You still need to recover from your allergy attack."

"Most definitely," said Danielle, mounting the staff alongside Eda. "See you later."

Waving bye to the Blight Siblings, Eda and Danielle head back to the Owl House. Landing once they were near, Danielle takes off the leaf jacket. Opening the door, Eda and Danielle see the living room strewn with ripped toy parts and stuffing.

"Ahem!" said Eda, spotting King and Hooty. "What the heck did you two get into?"

"Um, excuse me? We're having a moment here!" said King, gesturing to himself and Hooty.

"You'll never understand what we've been through together!" said Hooty, shaking his head. "Never! Never!"

"Ugh, moment ruined," said King, walking away.

"I will be haunted by my actions forever. Hoot hoot!" said Hooty, before seeing Danielle's condition. "What happened?"

"Allergy reaction," said Eda and Danielle, walking into the living room.
