Human AU

Ralph awoke with a start when he got a whiff of bacon. And as good as it smelled, it spelled disaster. He barely trusted himself in the kitchen, let alone a nine year old child.

He knew very well what day it was. Left unsupervised, Vanellope would get overzealous, and task herself with more of a challenge than she could handle. Just like last year.

Throwing a robe over his boxers and night shirt, Ralph descended the stairs and crossed the threshold into the kitchen, where Vanellope abruptly stopped her task of whisking pancake batter.

"Dad alert!" She screeched. A bump, followed by a groan pulled Ralph's attention to the open fridge as Felix rubbed his head, holding a carton of milk.

Ralph's confusion quickly turned into horror as soon as Tamora appeared in the opposite doorway. She had a determined, bouncer-like quality he did not care for.

"Kick him out, Sarge!" Vanellope shouted, pointing her dripping whisk in his direction.

"Dad's do not have clearance to enter this restricted area," the blonde spoke authoritatively, pushing against Ralph's shoulders. As strong as the sergeant was, she couldn't compete with the larger man when he decided that he wasn't going to be moved.

Still pushing, Tamora grabbed the can of PAM on the counter, spraying it.

"Ah!" Ralph jumped back waving the cooking spray particles away from his face. "What the hell!?"

"Tammy!" Felix quickly turned off the burner on the stove.

"Dad's are to remain in their quarters until breakfast is served!" Tamora sprayed again, and again. "Back!"

"Really feeling the love here guys!" Ralph growled, being forced up the stairs.

"You'll feel the love when you get back in bed and wait."

"Fine! I'm going!" Ralph dove into his room, narrowly escaping one last puff of PAM. His friends were absolutely nuts, but that didn't prevent the larger man from cracking a smile as he retreated back to his bed.

"Ay-yai-yai," he signed, tucking himself back in and listening to the muffled fallout of the chaos he just caused downstairs.

There was nothing else to do but wait...
