Lies

The text is easy.

Hi Mom. Changed my mind about moving out for now. April and I have talked about things. Tx

The call is going to be much harder. Taylor swallows her nerves and looks for the correct number. If yesterday and today weren't her days off, she'd probably be out of a job by now.

"Hi, Sarah, it's Taylor."

"Why are you calling me on the weekend?"

"I just...I'm not going to be able to come in tomorrow." Taylor takes a deep breath. "I got a bit roughed up and..."

Sarah scoffs. "A bruised face isn't going to stop you from doing your job."

"It's not my face. He went for my ribs."

Silence.

"Oh. Well, I suppose that would stop you. How long are you going to be off?"

"I don't know. Doctor said three weeks minimum." Or rather, Donatello did. All the action from helping take down the Shredder yesterday definitely didn't help.

"All right. Let me know how it goes."

Taylor restrains a sigh of relief. That could have gone much worse. "Thanks, Sarah."

"And I hope you feel better soon. Bye." Sarah hangs up.

If you're wondering why she helped with bruised ribs and stomach...well, in the film, Raph entered the final fight with a cracked shell. As a shell is part of a turtle's bone structure, that's basically going into battle with broken ribs held together by duct tape. Not to mention the others had just suffered a lot of blood loss and were running on adrenaline.
