Unexpected
Donatello had said one more week, but the truth is, Taylor knows she'll start to go crazy if she's not careful. She's read every book and watched every film, so what else is there for her to do?
On an impulse, she Googles online courses. She's got a little bit of money in her savings so she can afford at least one, and, hey, it would give her something to do.
The one about book cover design looks fun, and she's got Photoshop on her computer.
It starts off as a way to pass the time and learn an extra skill; then she starts enjoying it! OK, Photoshop is a little tricky to get the hang of, but she practises a lot (it's not like she's got anything else to do) and the results are pretty good.
Maybe, just maybe, she could do something with this. The job is...OK, but she doesn't know where to go from here. Maybe setting up a book cover design side gig could bring in some extra money.
April's already seen the lair; she says it's starting to look homely. The turtles are adding some personal touches - Donatello's starting to set up some computers, Leonardo's recovered his swords from the old home, Michelangelo has found a drum kit and Raphael is collecting sneakers. Oh, and they love the beds.
Taylor's glad. She really is.
On Thursday evening, there's a knock on the door. Taylor gets up and goes to answer it.
"Hi, Casey."
Judging from the look on his face, this isn't a social call. "Can I come in for a bit? I need to talk to you both about something."
He walks in, and Taylor knows she didn't imagine the brief look that passes between Casey and April.
"What's going on?" April asks.
Casey doesn't waste any time. "Ever heard of the Purple Dragons?"
Yes, there is actual plot here. Why do you ask?
