21. Muzzle

Muzzle

Down the street, Patrick and his family were driving to Stripe's house. Patrick had packed a few beers for him and Bandit, They were all excited to have a barbeque with the heelers. "I mean I don't know Jannelle, They've been together as friends for years. And I've already talked to Bandit and, He said he wasn't interested in her like that. Let's just go have a barbeque with th-...". He stopped talking when he saw four police cars parked outside Stripe's house. Patrick Parked 10 feet away from them, And got out of his car, Walking up to a brown bullmastiff writing in his notebook. "Excuse me officer but what happened in there, I'm friends with the guy that owns that house". Patrick pointed at Stripe's house, The brown dog turned around. "There was a biter incident. Young Heeler attacked two other kids and injured them". She said, Putting the notebook in her pocket. Patrick had one more question for the bullmastiff, "Who's the biter?"

BRISBANE HOSPITAL

"Bingo?"

Said Shaun through a square glass, Where the little Heeler had her head down in the corner. "She hasn't moved in 30 minutes", said Luci the shiba inu, Both of the dogs were outside of the glass watching the Heeler. "So what did the kid do exactly?" Shaun asked her, The shiba took out the paperwork And read it out loud. "Red Heeler attacked two dogs. One was a relative and the other was a chow chow. The relative had a piece of her skin taken but she should recover just fine. The Chow chow however had a good amount of her forearm taken off. They're gonna do some minor surgeries on her but she should also be ok". She then put the paperwork back on a desk. "So what are we supposed to do, Ms. Inu?" Shaun asked, She walked up to a black box, And opened it.

Outside of the room, Bandit, Brandy, and the kids were, Sitting on the waiting chairs. Bandit was holding socks. She had a few stitches on the left side of her face, where they had to reattach her skin. Brandy was holding Muffin on the far side. Bluey and Makenzie were in the middle, They were all silent not knowing what to say. But yet they were all thinking the same thing, Why would Bingo do something like that? Wendy then came out of another room where Judo was getting her arm fixed. She put her back on the wall and sat down on the ground, with her hands on her face. They all stayed quiet until Wendy broke the silence. "What am I going to tell Stripe, he told me to leave as soon as possible. And I didn't even listen", She asked out loud.

"Wendy it's not your fault, How were we supposed to know Bingo would do something like that", Bandit said, Wendy then took out her phone to call Stripe. "Regardless he has to at least know she's ok". She went to her contacts and pressed Stripe's phone number. Wendy started to tap her foot waiting for him to answer her. "Hey, stripe……..Yeah about that there was a bit of an incident………..Well…..You see…..Muffin wanted to stay for a bit with her cousin, So I planned on staying for an hour or so...And well, Something happened to Bingo, and she…..Bite Socks, She lost a bit of her skin but she shoul-", for the next few seconds Wendy was quiet, But by the sad look on her face, Anyone could tell she was getting yelled at.

"Beep"

She hung up and put her phone back into her pocket. She slapped her face out of disappointment for herself.

"Ring"

"Ring"

Bandit's phone then began to ring, He took it out of his pocket. It was Stripe trying to call him, He sighed and answered the phone. Putting it up to his ear. "Hey…Stripe", He said, There was a bit of silence between him and his brother. "Bandit….What the Hell did the little Red shit. DO TO MY DAUGHTER". He yelled at his brother through the phone, "Stripe calm down socks is ok, I have her with me right no-",

"WHY IS IT THAT WHEN YOU COME BACK INTO MY LIFE, IT ALL GOES TO SHIT". Stripe continued to yell at his brother, Bandit just cringed, Stripe continued to rant, and for a minute bandit just waited for him to calm down. "I NEVER WANT TO EVER SEE YOU, AND YOUR FAMILY, AND THAT WHORE OF A GIRLFRIEND YOU HAVE NOW". That was when Bandit had enough, "SHE'S NOT A WH-" He tried to interrupt his younger brother. "HAHAHAHAHAHA, Oh brother" Stripe started to talk normally. "She must have sucked you off on your off real good if you believe that….She will always be a whore. Everybody fucking knows that, Remember when you invited me to one of her parties, Do you want to know what she tried to do to me". Stripe waited for a response, Bandit looked back at Brandy who was curious about what they were talking about. "No" The Blue Heeler responded.

"Ask her……she'll obviously lie to you, So let me tell you what exactly happened that night". Stripe then told Bandit what had happened, His eyes opened surprised at what his brother had told him. Bandit Looked at Brandy with a bothered look. "yeah she's here…….fine… Ok yeah…..Bye". Bandit said hanging up his phone, "ok Stripe said, He won't be in a rush to come back. Since socks wasn't seriously hurt, But Trixie wants Wendy to take her to a child physiologist". The Blue Heeler explained, Bandit rubbed his face with his knuckles.

"creak"

A bloodhound came out of the room with Judo, The Chow Chow had a bandage that covered her entire forearm. Wendy got up and ran to hug her "Judo forgive me for how I treated you, I promise to be a better mum from now on". She said, Judo hugged her mother tightly. Having her skin taken off was the worst thing that ever happened to her. "I love you too Mum," Judo said, The bloodhound began to walk back to her room, "We have to go now", She stopped hugging her and walked up to Socks to pick her up from Bandit. "Ok, Muffin time to go, Say bye to your uncle Ban-...". The chow chow stopped mid-sentence when she saw her daughter hugging The Blue Heeler. "Thank you, Bluey's dad for saving me". Bandit kept his eyes on her, He then looked back at Wendy. He could see she was nervous, But she blinked and her nerves went away. She had seen that Bandit had changed, The Chow chow just nodded.

Bandit petted Judo's head, "I should be thanking you for saving my brother's kid".Bandit said, Judo smiled at the blue heeler, she then started to walk up to her mother, With Muffin following Judo. Now the only one that was left was bandit Brandy, Mackenzie, And Bluey. "What are they gonna do to, Bingo, Dad?" Bluey asked, Bandit patted his daughter's back. "Your sister is in big trouble kid, She's a biter now". Mackenzie moved his head to get a better look at blueys father. "What's a Biter Blueys dad?" He asked, Bandit then looked down at the ground. "A Biter is a dog that Bites, Another dog with their teeth, And that's what Bingo did. But since this is her first time they should go easy on her".

"She's just like Bluey's mum", Mackenzie said, Bandit quickly looked up at the Border Collie. "What did you say," Bandit said scowling at the 10-year-old. The older Heeler got up and grabbed him by his chest, putting him close to his face. Mackenzie had never seen him act like this. "If you ever disrespect her like that again, I swear to god, I'll tell your dad to beat the sh-".

"BANDIT"

Brandy pushed Bandit away from the young teen. "You keep your hands away from him". She said standing up for Mackenzie, Bandit was gritting his teeth. "You stay out of it, I'm not gonna let this Brat disrespect my wife". Bandit tried to move her away but Brandy pushed him to the wall. "Don't do it, You are better than this". If bandit really wanted he could have pushed her to the ground, But he didn't want to make a bigger scene. So he calmed down, And with a bit of force he pushed Brandy off. "Did you do that to my brother"? He asked her, The red heeler knew what he was talking about, And looked away from Bandit. "Is it true"he asked again

"Creak"

Luci came out of the room, Bandit looked back at Brandy. He then walked up to the Shiba Inu. "Mr. Heeler, Could you come in and get your daughter". She said, walking inside the room, Bandit followed her to see Shaun holding a small briefcase. "Hello Mr. Heeler, I'm very sorry to hear what happened, But You're going to be needing this". The Shepherds gave him the Briefcase, Bandit placed it on a wooden table and opened it. It had two slots, one where a large object needed to be placed. And a smaller slot where a green plastic container was placed. Bandit grabbed it and read it.

PROZAC PILL

"Why does she have to take Drugs she's only 8?" Bandit asked, As he placed the pills back and closed the briefcase. "It's just mandatory mr heeler, we used to have to keep young biters here for months until they were ready to go back to society. But more than 50 percent of them went back to either biting themselves or attacking others". He explained, Shaun gave Bandit a key, "What's this for?" He asked him, "That's for when you have to take the muzzle off for her to eat, however, the muzzle has a timer. Whenever you take it off of her, You will only have an hour to take it off every 24 hours. If it's not back on, the muzzle has a chip that will send an alert to the nearest police station. You're also gonna have to come back here every week to the hospital until we're certain she can be trusted without the drugs". Bandit looked at Shaun and sighed, This was just more stress for the blue heeler.

"Ok Mr Heeler she's ready," Luci said walking up to him, Bingo was on her left side, She had a bandage on her ripped ear, And a new arm sling for her broken arm, And The muzzle on her head, covering her mouth to make sure she won't bite anyone. She had straps behind her head that connected to the muzzle. Where a lock was located, So that bandit could open it. The Red Heeler stumbled a bit trying to find her balance while giggling. "hehehehehehe, Hi DAD, wh-wh-why is the room so shaky". She said, with tired eyes and a lazy smile, "We already gave her a pill". Shaun said

BANDIT'S CAR

They were all quiet during the ride, Bandit was concentrated on the road. Brandy was trying to think of what to say to bandit, while biting her nails. In the back Bluey and Mackenzie were keeping their distance from Bingo. Who was watching the buildings passing by and giggling. "hehehehehe, that building is moving". She looked tired even though it was just the pills taking their effect on her. "Dad, why is Bingo acting weird and why does she have that weird thing on her head". Bluey asked her father, Bandit looked in the mirror and saw Bluey's concerned face. "It's just to make sure she doesn't try to bite anyone, And she's acting like that, because Shaun prescribed some special medicine for her. Oh, and Bluey you're gonna be sleeping in the other room, I don't want you to be near Bingo. And Mackenzie, well see where I can put you".

After 20 minutes of driving they arrived at bandit's house. Bandit took Bluey's bed out of Bingo's room, And placed it in the old baby's room, while he was busy organizing the room. Brandy was downstairs taking care of the drugged Red Heeler. Mackenzie and Bluey were in the playroom, But they weren't playing. There was an awkward silence between them, "You didn't have to say that at the hospital". Bluey said to Mackenzie, grabbing some legos. "You're just mad because I said the truth, Bingo acted the exact same way your mum did on the news". Mackenzie said looking at Bluey with an annoyed look. "Don't talk about bingo like that, She's my sister". The Blue Heeler got up from the floor and Mackenzie did the same. "She almost killed socks and judo. How could you protect her like that". He complained, throwing his hands in the air

"Your dad is mean to me, And your mum and sister are crazy". Mackenzie turned around to walk out of the room, But he stopped in his tracks when he saw Bandit standing a few feet away from him. The Blue Heeler started to walk up to him with a blank face. "Am I mean to you Mackenzie? '', He said as he continued to walk him to the wall, Bluey ran up in front of the border collie. "He was just joking dad, He didn't mean any of those things. R-Right Mackenzie''. She stuttered, Even bluey could feel a change in her father's attitude. Bandit just clicked his teeth, While looking at his nervous daughter. "You know Mackenzie…..you're right I was mean to you. And I'm sorry for what I said to you, I was stressed out and…..well I overreacted". He said shrugging his shoulders

Mackenzie sighed in relief, he was glad that Bluey had rescued him. "But I don't ever want you to disrespect my wife ever again, If you do I promise to tell your dad. Do you understand?". He said seriously to the border collie, "Y-y-yes Mr. Heeler" Mackenzie nodded multiple times, Bandit then walked away to check up on Brandy and Bingo, He looked back at Mackenzie one more time, And then he left. The two kids stood their eyes wide open, But after a few seconds, they both calmed down. "Ok, maybe my dad is a little mean to you". Bluey said embarrassingly, scratching her elbow. "Thanks for helping me, Bluey, But I don't think I ever want to come back to your house again". He said shuttering, But then he felt his stomach begin to grumble. They haven't eaten since the trip and now Mackenzie was starving.

While the kids went into the kitchen to see what they could snatch from the pantry. Brandy was on the floor observing her drugged niece, Bingo was lying on her back on the carpet, observing the spinning fan. Not taking her eyes off it, She had a dull smile, and tired eyes, occasionally giggling. Brandy petted her niece's head, even after all she did, She still cared about the young heeler. "Why did you do it Bingo". Brandy asked her, Bingo turned her head, Her ripped ear twitched a bit. "...I was hungry, Aunt Brandy……And I'm still hungry". She looked up at her aunt, smiling at her. The older Heeler got a bad feeling from the smile her niece gave her.

"Brandy"

She looked up to see Bandit, He gave her a blank look. "We have to talk". He said pointing to the door that led to the backyard. Brandy sighed knowing what he wanted to do, So she got up and walked to the outside. Bandit followed her, It was mid-afternoon and the sun was about to set. Brandy sat down on one of the chairs outside, Bandit sat in front of her.

There was a silence between them, Bandit just stared at her. Brandy however was looking down at the ground rubbing her arm. "So……..what happened? I just want to at least hear the truth". Bandit said, However, the red heeler did not say anything." Please", Brandy sighed and tried to find the right words. "It was……When you first invited your brother to my party. It was New Year's Eve, And after Hank broke up with me I was desperate to be back in a relationship. So after I saw your brother get in a fight with Trixie, I saw an opportunity……So I asked him to help me get some special whine in my room…….And I kissed him…..". Brandy covered her face out of embarrassment. "And?" Bandit said, knowing there was more to the story "...He didn't like it, But I wanted him to be with me, so I tried to…….Suck him off……And he kicked me away, and ran". Brandy was digging her nails into her face.

"So what are you gonna call me a whore too, C'MON SAY IT. I'M A FILTHY WHORE, MY DAD DOESN'T LOVE ME, AND I'VE PROBABLY FUCKED MORE MEN THAN ANY PROSTITUTE IN A TEN-MILE RADIUS. SAY IT TO MY FUCKING FACE". Brandy got up and yelled at the blue heeler's face.

"You're not a whore Brandy"

Bandit got up from the chair, And hugged her. "After all I've done, you're still a better dog than I could ever be. I have no right to call you a whore, I just wanted to make sure you wouldn't lie to me". He said Brandy didn't know what to say. A part of her was mad at him for making her confess to what she did to his brother. But the other part of her was glad that he wasn't mad at her. She just hugged him back in the end. Inside of the house, Bluey was watching them hug, They didn't notice her. She heard Brandys yelling, which mad her question herself "what's a whore" she said to herself.

6 DAYS LATER

It was Thursday, Bandit was driving to Bingo's school, "Dad I don't want to go to school". She said, Bingo was off her pills, Bandit was gonna take her to the hospital so Shaun could do a check-up on her. Bandit didn't respond to his daughter, He hasn't talked much to her in the past few days. He was still angry at her for what she had done. On Monday afternoon he had gotten multiple calls from the adults asking why Bingo had a muzzle. He had to explain to each one that she had bitten a few kids. But when he told them it was Wendy and Stripes, kids, they contacted them. While Wendy didn't make it a big deal, Stripe did, which caused the adults to go up to Honeycake and ask Bingo to be expelled from her school. As much as she wanted to do it, Mostly because of the trauma Chilli had caused her. Bandit had begged her to keep bingo in her school, And HoneyCake was a kind dog. Agreed to keep her just as long as she kept the muzzle on her.

"Dad please, I-I'm sorry for what I did, I didn't mean it". She said trying to get a reaction from him, He didn't say anything. "Dad", She tried one last time, And yet no response. They then arrived at HoneyCake's school, Bandit parked his car and opened the door. Instead of waiting for his daughter he just walked up to the front door, Where Honeycake was waiting for him. "You're a little late Mr. Heeler", she said, looking behind him as Bingo ran up beside her father. "I didn't want the other parents to see her, But anyway I gotta go". He began to walk back to his car, Bingo Turned around and waved at her with her unbroken hand. "Bye Dad", She weakly said, Bandit paused for a moment. He could have said goodbye, He even could have said "I love you bingo". But he didn't all he did was walk back to his car, And drove down the hill. Bingo was at the point of crying, But she stopped herself. She knew school was gonna be worse.

She turned around and looked at her teacher, Honeycake gave her a nervous smile. Seeing her reminded her of Chilli, she wasn't as traumatized. But even then, she did not feel comfortable around the heeler. Bingo dropped her head and began to walk inside the house, All the other kids were playing around and some were chasing each other. But they all stopped when they saw Bingo. All of their parents had told them what she had done to socks and judo. All of the kids were scared of her, none dared to even talk to her. They all keep their eyes on her waiting for Bingo's next move. She just kept her head down and began to walk to the corner of the room.

She got into the corner and sat down. The kids began to play again but this time they would look back at bingo every once and a while to make sure she would stay there. Lila still had her eyes on Bingo, She couldn't believe that her friend had turned into a biter. Her parents had told her to never get near her again, She still cared about Bingo but one thing was for sure she wasn't going to talk with her anytime soon.

After 30 minutes, HoneyCake told the children to go outside and play games. All the kids were playing with their friends, some were playing with jump ropes, others were playing tug of war, and others were making up games to play with one another. But Bingo was under a tree curled up into a ball. It's what she used to do when she was depressed, Just like when her mum died. She scratched the muzzle occasionally. It would sometimes cause her to itch. It wasn't too bad, But it still annoyed her. She picked her head up and looked at what the other kids were doing. She saw Harely playing freeze tag with Sadie, Jasper G, jasper w, And…….Lila.

They were all smiling, And having a good time. They all looked happy together, It made the red heeler's ears drop to the ground. She put her head back down and silently cried,

Inside the house HoneyCake was cleaning up the toys the kids had left in the ground, While talking to her husband, on her earphone. "And then Berry told me that it's not technically cheating, Just because he finds her attractive. So then I told him what his wife would think, And he just shrugged me off like it wasn't a big deal". She wanted to continue to talk to her husband but she stopped when she saw a car park outside of the driveway. A female cavapoo walked out of her car, She opened the door for her son who had a strange-looking tablet with him. Honey Cake recognized her, she had recently enlisted her child to go to her school. However, she was an hour late, which made the mastiff question why she would even bother to come.

"Hello Mrs Mastiff, I'm so sorry I'm late it's just my son was very nervous to come to school today. And he threw a bit of a temper tantrum". She said, scratching her neck out of embarrassment, Her son was nervously holding his strange tablet while looking at Honey Cake. "Oh It's ok Mrs cavapoo, I understand, It's his first day. But might I ask what your son is holding?" Honeycake asked, pointing at the tablet. The young Cavapoo then grabbed a pen from his pocket and began to write on the tablet. "Hello," It said in black ink, It was neatly written, very impressive for an 8-year-old. The tablet was purple and the screen was just a white plastic covering. The young dog began to shake the board, The ink was then gone. "It's a special board where he can write words, So he can communicate with the other kids". The older Cavapoo explained, HoneyCake then bent down to the kid's level where she pointed at the tablet letting the kid know she wanted to use it. He hesitated for a second But then gave the mastiff his board, And pen. HoneyCake began to write on the board, She turned it around to show him. "You have very good handwriting," It said on the board,

The kid smiled at her compliment, He grabbed the board back and shook it. "Thank you", He wrote on the board, while showing it to his new teacher. Honeycake smiled at the kid And then stood back up. "I have to go now, Thank you again for understanding," The older Cavapoo said while begging to walk back to her car,

Her son just looked at her as she walked away, She waved at him, And he waved back with a smile. But when she began to drive away his smile left, and his ears dropped. He was nervous since he was usually by his mother every time they would go out in public. But now he was all on his own, Honeycake then grabbed the board and showed the kid what she wrote. "The other kids are playing outside, Go have fun with them". The kid then grabbed the board and looked down at the floor. He was beyond nervous but he then took a big breath and let all his nerves out. He had a serious face on and walked outside where all the kids were playing.

By the looks of it, everyone had someone to play with minus him. So he looked around trying to find another kid that was by themselves. He then noticed a dog that was lying under the tree all alone. He was curious about why she was under the tree, But what caught his attention was the weird thing on her head, And the bandage on her ear. He then felt his nerves start to take control over his body, But in the end, he gained the courage he needed and walked down the hill where the lone dog was located. She didn't hear the cavapoo walk up to her, The young boy then tapped his foot on the ground to make some noise. That was when the Red dog lifted her face to see the boy. She had never seen him before so it was a bit of a surprise. The kid then smiled at the red Heeler. He wanted to know what the weird thing was that wrapped around her head. But he wanted to know her name, So first he introduced himself. By writing his name down on the board with the plastic pen.

"Hi Im Dougie"
