Chapter 11

Violet sat on the bench next to a USO helmet that had an 'A' on it. Her hazel eyes were on Steve as he buttoned up a coat over his Cap uniform. "The Hydra camp is in Krausberg, tucked between two mountain ranges. It's a factory of some kind."

Peggy studied the map that Violet was gesturing to. She had to admit that this young woman knew her things. Perhaps more than what she had let on. And it was something that bothered the brown-haired woman.

Howard leaned back from the controls to look over his shoulder at the three of them. "We should be able to drop you right on the doorstep."

Steve looked at the dark-haired man flying the plane. "Just get me as close as you can." He turned his attention to the two women. "You know, you're going to be in a lot of trouble when you land."

Violet let out a laugh shaking her head lightly.

Peggy eyed the muscular man before her. "And you're not?"

"Yeah, but where I'm landing, if anybody yells at me, I get to shoot them."

Violet shook her head once again letting out a soft chuckle. "They're undoubtedly going to shoot back."

He showed both women the shield that he had strapped to his back. "It's got to be good for something."

Violet tried to not laugh. "To protect you from getting shot at, I don't think so," Violet said, shaking her head. "The metal isn't strong enough."

Howard tried not to laugh at what Violet had said. He knew what she was trying to say. "Agent Carter, Agent Howlett if we're not in too much of a hurry, I thought we'd stop in Lucerne for a late-night fondue," Howard said with a grin.

Steve looked a little upset at what Howard had said. "Why is he saying "fondue" like that? What's fondue?"

"Stark's the best civilian pilot I've ever seen, and mad enough to brave this airspace. We're lucky to have him." Peggy said slightly amused by what Steve had been saying.

"Do you, are you two...fondue?"

Violet brought her hand up to her mouth hiding a snicker. She couldn't believe that Steve thought that fondue was something sexual. "Take this transponder. Activate it when you're ready and the signal will lead us right to you." Violet said as she handed the device with an insignia of Stark Industries.

Steve looked up after looking at it. "Are you sure it works?"

"It's been tested more than you have," Howard said before a loud bang was heard and the plane lurched to the left.

Violet let out a growl as she gripped the bench.

Howard began to execute evasive maneuvers to keep the plane safe.

Steve quickly strapped on his parachute and threw open the jump door.

Peggy's eyes went wide moving slightly. "Rogers, get back here. We're taking you in!"

More explosions rocked the air causing Steve to hesitate to realize what he was about to do. Another loud bang caused him to turn to both women. "ONCE I'M CLEAR, TURN THIS THING AROUND AND GET OUT OF HERE!"

"YOU CAN'T GIVE ME ORDERS!" Peggy shouted at him.

"THE HELL I CAN'T!" Steve said bracing in the doorway. "I'M A CAPTAIN!"

Another loud bang caused the plane to lurch again as he jumped out of the aircraft.

Violet shook her head lightly moving quickly to the jump door reaching out her claws and digging into the side of the door frame as she reached to keep herself inside of the aircraft.

Peggy caught a glimpse of Steve's chute swearing under her breath and signaled to Howard.

Howard hauled on the throttle as Violet slammed the door shut.

Violet fell back onto her ass, her hair windblown and her breaths coming out in pants.

Peggy moved over to her, holding out her hand.

Violet took the brown-haired woman's hand and Peggy hoisted her to her feet.

"You look a little flushed." Peggy pointed out to the dark-haired woman. "Are you alright?"

Violet waved her hand as if to try and wave off what had happened. "I'm fine, just not planning on going into a war zone again in a plane."

Peggy's brows furrowed. "You don't like being on planes?"

Violet let out a soft scoff shaking her head. "No, not really."

"Why did you decide to fly out with us…"

"Because I had to do something. I can't just sit around and do nothing, Agent Carter. My brother is out there somewhere fighting. I haven't seen or heard from him in weeks since he dropped off that information about Hydra." Violet crossed her arms, rubbing them slowly. "I'm not used to being away from my brother. He's my other half. The other half of my personality… he's gritty, I'm not… we even each other out…"

Peggy put her hand on Violet's shoulder. "I am sure that you'll see your brother soon."

Violet took a breath gripping her hands at her sides. She didn't mean to disclose so much to Peggy, but it was bothering her. She could only hope that he was alright wherever he was. She shakily walked to her seat knowing that she needed to sit down and relax some.

Peggy sat down next to her. "I know there are things that you can't say, but I do admit you're fairly strong about getting that door shut," Peggy said softly so Howard couldn't hear what they were talking about. "You're different from anyone else I've met."

Violet let out a soft chuckle. "Perhaps one day I'll explain to you everything." She said looking over at the brown-haired woman. She knew that Peggy was interested in what Violet could do, but Violet was concerned about even showing Peggy what she truly could do. Perhaps one day no one would be freaking out with her abilities.
