Chapter 15
FRANCE, December 1943
Violet checked over her gun, her brows pinched together in thought as she checked to make sure that everything was in the right place.
Jim Duggan looked over at the woman that was looking her weapon over with an intense gaze. "You know how to work that lil lady?"
Violet looked up at Jim, her brow slightly raised. "Yes, I know how to use it. My twin brother trained me well." She mused softly, her lips quirking a little bit into a smile.
Duggan brought his hands up. "Meant nothing by it lil lady."
Violet let out a soft chuckle. "You can call me Violet. Lil lady doesn't seem to fit me." She said looking up at Duggan.
Duggan nodded his head. "You got it, Ma'am."
She blinked a few times, feeling someone's eyes on her as the plane shifted in the air causing her to grab her knee to hide her extending nails. She took a deep breath through her nose, closing her eyes tightly.
"Take it you don't like flying Agent Howlett?" The smooth silky voice of Bucky questioned.
Violet's eyes opened and slid over to Bucky. "Can't say I do, Sergeant Barnes." She said as she took another deep breath.
"Buck, she came with me when I came to rescue you all…" Steve said, looking at his friend.
"It's the turbulence that I don't like about flying," Violet said simply looking into Bucky's eyes. "It won't stop me from the mission we're on, Sargent."
Bucky let out a hum of surprise. He hadn't expected the woman to be afraid of turbulence. But he couldn't blame her, not during wartime.
Steve looked at his crew. "We're landing in a few moments at our drop point."
The men slowly got up to their feet to go and grab their parachute packs.
Violet got up to her feet and went to grab hers. She carefully and strategically put on her parachute. She took a deep breath through her nose as she followed the men toward the side of the plane preparing to jump.
Bucky looked at Violet with a concerned look. "You sure that you're alright doll?"
Violet's hazel eyes slid over to Bucky. "I'm fine." She said softly, biting the inside of her cheek. She may have hated flying, but she needed to do this. She didn't want to let Steve down because of a slight fear of being in an aircraft. She wanted to be of some use and that was exactly what she was going to do.
"You sure about that doll?"
"I'm sure Sargent, nothing I can not handle." She said as she gripped the straps of her chute.
"Approaching drop point," Steve called them. "Remember to give them hell."
Violet's lips quirked as she tried not to smile fully knowing that her canine teeth were sharper than they were supposed to be. Giving them hell meant fighting and destroying until the base was no longer on the map. Hydra would not get the best of them. She took a sharp breath through her nose as the hatch opened.
"Go go go," Steve called out.
Violet watched the men in front of her get out of the plane. "Why must I keep doing shit like this?" She thought to herself. "Because I'm a warrior and a fighter, I know nothing else." She then walked towards the door and took another breath before launching herself out of the plane. She gripped onto the straps as she soared downward through the air with the rest of them, her heart pounding in her chest as if it was going to explode inside and kill her, but she knew that wasn't possible since her healing factor was through the roof. Her clammy hands gripped onto the straps before a shaky hand went to the pull cord. Sbe pulled it when she got into the zone feeling the jerk of the chut coming out of the pack. It jerked her upwards, slowing her momentum toward the Earth.
As each one landed on the ground they removed their packs quickly. Violet soon joins them, removing her pack.
Duggan looked at the young woman proudly knowing the young woman had fears and she did well.
"You did very well Agent Howlett," Bucky said, offering the woman a smile.
Violet turned her attention to Bucky and saw the charming smile on his face. Her brow raised slightly wondering why he was being charming at this very moment. "Thank you, Sergeant Barnes." She said her voice coming out fairly softly.
"Come on, we're going now," Steve ordered as he led the crew towards the Hydra base that wasn't going to be too far away from their landing spot.
Violet gripped her gun lightly listening to the sounds around them as they walked. Their footsteps crunched lighting the snowy ground. She could smell the scents of the men working hard in the Hydra building. She could hear the movements from a distance knowing that they weren't hearing them coming towards the building.
Steve looked over at her wondering what she could hear from inside. "Do they know we're coming?"
Violet looked up at Steve and shook her head. "No, they're working like a normal day."
Steve nodded his head knowing that her impeccable hearing was something that they were going to get very used to and use often. He crashed the door open and held up his shield before firing his gun as his teammates followed him.
Violet snarled as she followed Steve in firing her gun as she walked in with the rest of the crew. She tried her best not to get any wounds because the last thing that she needed was to avoid her team finding out about her gift. She snarled as she felt a bullet whiz past her head and turned sharply firing her gun killing the person easily with her weapon.

Violet wiped the blood that was on her face.
Bucky looked over at her concern. "Are you sure you're alright Agent Howlett?" He asked, voicing his concern towards the young woman that had been intriguing him at every turn. He could easily tell that she was something else that was for sure. She knew her way around a gun and knew more things than some men that were well-seasoned by war.
Violet looked up at Bucky holding onto the cloth in her hand. "I'm fine." She said, offering him a smile.
"You're bleeding…"
Violet let out a soft chuckle. "Just a flesh wound on my arm, the rest of it is their blood."
Bucky came over to her and brushed some of her hair away from her face.
Violet blinked a few times in confusion. "What?"
"You're stronger than what I thought you would be."
Violet lets out a soft chuckle. "Is that a surprising thing? Good or bad?"
Bucky rubbed the back of his neck nervously before letting out a chuckle. "It's a good thing. I was worried."
"That I would be a distraction?"
Bucky shook his head. "No, never that."
Violet let out another soft chuckle and shook her head lightly. "You're certainly something else Sergeant Barnes."

This is the end of Chapter 15. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. I truly did try my best to write this chapter out. There are three more chapters of OG with a little bit of plot for the movie. I can't wait to show you guys what happens next in the three chapters that have OG parts to them. I was almost late posting this today, due to issues with my wrist, but I was able to get it finished. I hope that you enjoyed it. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. I'll hopefully have a new chapter out for next week. I start PT on Monday so there might be a chance there might be few and far between updates until I'm done with PT. But I'm going to try my best. Until next time.
