As I walked in Boden called out to me to come into his office, where he stared at me with a look in his eyes of interest and anger. "Why are you late matt?" I looked out of the window where I saw Kelly walking into the house with a stone-hard face as If it had rained in his car, I turned my head and blinked quickly with my eyes "sorry chief but I had a bad night I had a fight with jay" Boden's face cleared and a look of sympathy came out, I'm sorry for you but you can not come in late again Casey not during your first week as the new lieutenant on Truck. I nodded and I was dismissed. As I Walked into the common room and sat down at the head of the table, gabby immediately walked up to me and sat down with a look on her face that could not mean any good. I saw Kelly and shay the other night they were outside of Molly´s but as they stepped out of the cab Kelly pulled away and pulled shay with him. This morning shay told me that he liked someone in the house and that he does not know how to handle his feelings towards that person. I was frowning at my plate gabby had brought me, who could Kelly like I knew he had slept around the academy with almost all female students, it could be Kid but she was not interested in Kelly but that would mean Gabby, I looked at her with a small grin as her face turned in a grimace when her brain finally made the same conclusion as my mind did. I was a little jealous of gabby at the knowledge that Kelly was only interested in girls and apparently had set sites on gabby. As we were arriving on the scene PD had already put up a corridor and the intelligence unit was already on the scene, as I got out of the front truck jay came walking up to me and hugged me, it´s Adam he got in a car accident, he started sniffing, he's dead Matt he … he … he´s .. dead. I hugged back and pressed my lips to his head. Meanwhile, Chief Boden started shouting orders to all other firefighters. Kelly's pov

As we round up the call where police patrolman Ruzek had died, I saw Casey walk over to the chief with an apologetic face and the chief nodded at him he walked over to the intelligence unit and wrapped an arm around the lean brown-haired man who was standing there with red eyes. My jealousy shot up and I immediately saw red but Shay thank god got me in the squad as we drove off I stared out of the window at the disappearing man how I loved with all my heart but who was clearly taken by the cute brown-haired man.

As we pulled into the house and I sat down at the squad table I dove into a magazine without actively reading anything, that is when I got called to Boden's office that is where I saw my lieutenant on squad, come in Kelly I talked to lieutenant Carson over here and we decided that you will be taken over command of squad 3 after he retires after the next shift. My jaw dropped to my chest they wanted to promote me to lieutenant on the squad I would not only be the youngest squad member but also the youngest squad lieutenant. As I walked out I put on a face that I had seen many times on my fathers face the one that says I just got fired, gabby and Shay immediately walked over to me to check on me, as they looked at me their faces became sad they thought they knew what happened. As they wanted to start patting my back I jumped in the air with a super smile plastered on my face I'm promoted I Jeld they started to jump around in happiness you are a lieutenant now we need to call Casey, well that was a damper on my mood because I now remembered that Casey was not here but with his boyfriend the cop. Stop being jealous I spoke to myself that Jay needs him more than me he lost a member of his PD family and needed Matt's support in the grieving process. After the shift, Gabby, Shay, and I went to Molly´s to celebrate while we sat at the bar drinking shots a man stood in the corner of the club he eyed me, and the two paramedics. Like they were meat, he could not wait to eat both of them. I stood up, Gabby and Shay followed me out the door to my apartment to keep drinking. The man followed us out the door and onto the street where he stepped to Shay and put his hand on her butt cheeks she turned around and gave the man a bitch slap. I walked over there and gave the man a shove to get away from her he looked at me with a foul look you already have one now let me have mine" the man said with a double tong. I gave him a right hook so that the man dropped to the pavement and turned around to see Gabby gaping at me she grabbed my arm and pulled me and shay to my apartment. Where she looked at me "why did you do that Kelly if CFD bras hear about this they could take your rank, your job, and your pension" she exclaimed in a high voice.

Matts pov

As I walked to Jay's car I looked back at the firefighters how climbed back in their apparatus that is when I saw Kelly looking at me with my arm around Jay, with a sour look on his face he climbed back into the squad, wait what is Kelly had a crush on me the way he always wanted to talk to me but when he realized I was talking to jay he walked away, and the looks he troughs my way when I was with jay the time he avoided Molly's that was the night Jay was with me. Omg, he is in love with me!
