Chapter 2

Ben sits on the front steps of Luffy's little cabin. He takes a drink of the liquor in the bottle in his hand as he closes his eyes and leans back to the pole that holds up the roof over the porch. A sigh escapes his lips.

"A coin for your thoughts." Said Shanks as he leans against the other pole next to Ben.

Ben slowly opens his eyes to look at his friend and Captain. "I am just worried. Zo has been dealt a bad hand in her life. Even before she was born." He told Shanks with a sigh.

"Well Ben if it puts you at ease. We could wait for Garp to return to the village in about 7 months." Said Shanks smiling at Ben.

Ben's eyes shot open from what Shanks just told him. "But Captain. I know you always run when we spot Garp's ship anywhere in Paradise or New World." He told Shanks.

Shanks waves him off. "I just like to make him chase me. He was good friends with my old Captain. Besides Raleigh-sensei. Garp was the other man my old Captain would open up to. I think that old dog knew some secrets that not even Raleigh-sensei didn't even know." He said with a thoughtful look on his face.

Ben just dumbly nodded his head to this as he was still a little worried as they had planned to leave long before Garp returned to check on Luffy.

Three Days Late Foosha Docks

A small ship docks next to the Red Force as the man with a silver hair pitbull and a young girl with green hair hidden under a black bandana dock and climb up to the docks. THe man's black eyes look around for the man that is to meet them. Stepping out of the shadows Ben walks up to them with a cigarette in his mouth as a man with crimson hair follows behind him.

"Ben." Said John with a nod of his head as Zoro stands behind him with Dog also standing defensive before the little girl.

Ben's dark eyes look down at the little girl hiding behind his friend. "Hello Zoro-chan." He said with a soft smile on his face.

Zoro peeks out from behind John. Her silver eyes softly glowing in the dawn sunrise. "Hello." She said in a quiet voice.

"I am glad I finally get to meet my niece." Said Ben as he watches her movement.

She froze hearing this. "You're my Uncle?" She questions him.

Ben nods his head. "Your mommy is my sister." He told her with a sad smile on his face. "But I did not know she was here in the East Blue. I had thought she would go to the land of our Great Grandfather who was from the West Blue. If I had known I would have gone and gotten you two." He said with sorrow in his voice.

She just slowly nods her head to his words as she looks back to the vast sea resting just behind her as gentle tides lapping against the boats and dock. Before returning her gaze to her Uncle. "I have a feeling I will not be joining you out in the seas." She told him with a slight sigh.

"That is a true little lady. My ship isn't a place for children." Said Shanks as he grins at the girl before him.

The Jungle around Grey Turmernal

Two boys looked at each other panting heavily. "Those bastards are after us." Growls out the raven hair boy.

"I know Ace. They are blaming us for what the kid did." Said the blonde hair boy wearing a black tophat.

The now name Ace glares at the blonde hair boy before him. "Dammit Sabo. What are we going to do?" He growls out once more.

"I don't know Ace. All we can do is find the kid and take the money from him or hand him over to Blue Jam." SAid Sabo with fear in his voice as they had seen Blue Jam shoot a kid point blank thinking the kid was the raven hair kid who stole from him. But the thing was the kid he murdered out of cold blood had brown hair and didn't look like the kid either.

Ace looks over towards his friend's words. "You know we can't do that and the bastard might just kill us along with that other kid. We already saw what he did last night to Jack." He said with fear now being seen in his black eyes.

Sabo lets out a sigh. Then let's go to that little village on the southern coast. We might find the kid there and ask him why he stole the money from Blue Jam's man." He said letting out a sigh as this was the only thing he could even think of. As they both hadn't slept in three days since Blue Jam began his hunt for them and the raven hair boy.

Ace just nods his head and he stands up from the branch they had been hiding on. He knew the old bandit he lives with wouldn't even worry about him going missing for a few days. "Let's go." He said with another sigh as they both jumped down to the ground and took off running with their pipes attached to their backs.

Foosha Village Luffy's little cabin

Luffy opens his front door to find Ben and Shanks with a girl with green hair and a man with raven hair with a silver pitbull standing next to them. He just smiles up at everyone standing before them. "Hello." He tells them all.

"Hey Luffy." Said Shanks smiling at the kid before him.

"Luffy, are you sure my niece can live here with you?" Question Ben with worry in his voice as he watches the little boy before him.

"You know it is alright. Like I said last night. Gramps will not think much about another kid showing up and just adopt her as his Granddaughter and just do his weird laugh." Said Luffy still grinning.

John looks at Ben. "Whose his Grandfather?" He questions the man standing before him and Zoro.

Ben lets out a sigh. "Monkey D. Garp. The Marine Hero." He said in a calm but dry voice.

John's eyes widen as he looks at Ben and down at the little boy standing before him. "Garp?! Are you kidding me?" He demands as he looks upset at Ben.

"My Gramps is a good man. He comes to visit once or twice a year to make sure I am okay and that I haven't burnt down the cabin. But Makino does come and check on me and she is teaching me to cook more dishes besides my favorite. Meat." Said Luffy with a large D grin on his little face.

John looks at Luffy. "Kid, how old are you?" He questions studying Luffy and seeing from the open door the cabin is clean.

"I'm four." Said Luffy as he holds up four fingers up to the man.

"Do you think they will be okay?" Demands John looking at Ben.

"They will be found. Garp doesn't question much and I know him from when I traveled with my late Captain. The old buzzer is happy with his crackers or donuts." Shanks waving the train killer off.

Luffy pulls on John's pant leg. He looks down at the little boy standing before him. "I would like to have a friend. I am so lonely here. The kids living in the village call me a monster or a demon. Just because I came back alive after Gramp's training." He said with sadness in his eyes.

This broke the man's heart. He has gotten too soft since he got married. He looks over at Zoro to see what she wants to do.

"I didn't have any friends in the village I once lived in. I mostly spent time with momma as they thought I was weird for wanting to learn how to fight with a sword." Said Zoro just above a whisper.

"Alright. But you know you can call me anytime and I shall sail back to this island and take you somewhere else." Said John looking at the little girl standing right next to him.

Zoro nods her head to his words. "I shall keep the snail safe." She tells him as she knows she needs to put it somewhere safe and feed it some fruit.

"Please don't worry too much John. We are going to stay here until Garp arrives and ask him to protect her from anyone." Ben let out another sigh.

John just nods his head to the man standing before him. "I shall take my leave. I have something to take care of." He said as he slipped on a pair of black gloves.

With that said he was gone.

Ben looks back at the two kids. "Let's see what you will need for your room." He tells Zoro bounces into his house and up the stairs to the second floor and there are two doors closed. One with a name plate with Luffy's name on it. "This one will be your room." Said Luffy as he opens the door that is all pink with flowers. She looks at Luffy and back at the two men behind her.

"My Gramps wasn't sure if I was going to be a boy or girl. So he fixed up the rooms. My room is in the attic. So you can have this one and change it if you want." He said with a large D grin on his face.

Zoro slowly nods her head. "I just need somewhere to sleep. I don't care what it looks like. For I will only be in here at night. But I will be spending more of my time training." She said looking over at Luffy as she walks into the bedroom and looks around as she walks to the bed and drops her pack on the bed.

Ben follows her into the room. He even notices that the room doesn't have any dust in it and it appears the blankets had been freshly laundered as well. "Luffy, did you clean this room for Zoro?" He questions the boy.

"No. I always clean every room in the house. I don't like the musty smell when a room is closed for too long." Said Luffy grinning.

"Zoro let me know what you are going to need." Said Ben as he looked down at the greenette.

She looks up at him. "I need clothing for training as I only have a few days worth of clothing with me." She told him.

Ben nods his head as he turns to Luffy. "Do you need anything for yourself Luffy?" He questions.

Luffy looks at him owlishly. "I don't know." He said as he walked out of the room and opened the door for his own room and went up the second set of stairs. Going into this room he looks around as he looks at the clothing he had been mending on his own.

Shanks stood behind the little boy without him knowing the older man was in his room. "We will take you both shopping for clothing for training and normal clothes." He said as he placed his hand on the boy's head.

Luffy looks up at him blushes as he didn't know he wasn't alone in his room. "Thank you." He

said in a quiet voice.

Treeline before Foosha VIllage

Ace and Sabo sit before the tree looking down the hill towards the village. They both sat there panting as they ran as fast and hard as their little legs were able to carry them.

"We finally made it." Said Ace with a D grin on his own face.

"Yeah we got here before Blue Jam could spot us." Said Sabo as he takes a deep breath to calm his own breathing from the long and hard run they just had.

Their eyes widen as they see the kid they are looking for walking away from the farther part of the treeline. He is walking with two men and a kid with green hair.

"We need to follow them and once the kid is alone we will act." Said Sabo as Ace nods his head to his friend.

Luffy skips towards the village as they exit from the treeline from his little home. He had one of his true smiles on his face as he wasn't going to be alone anymore. He will now have a friend. But he still has a small seed of doubt as he wasn't sure if Zoro really wants to be his friend. But he will just have to put his trust in her and wait and see.
