Chapter 3
Ace, Sabo slip into the alleyways of Fusa village doing their best for two 7 year olds. As their eyes burn holes into the small boy who doesn't even notice them. If he does even notice them. He doesn't pay them any mind as he is too busy with his new friend looking at the cat sitting before them lazily blinking looking up at the two of them. "Meow…" Said the black fat cat.
One thing the two kids didn't notice was that the two men that were walking with the two kids slipped away from them. Shanks and Benn's eyes meet as they nod as their hands reach down, picking up the two boys following them since they had entered the village from Luffy's Cabin.
For a brief moment Ace and Sabo stiffen for a briefest of a moment they both froze in fear not sure if one of Blue Jams men had caught them or not. "So, brats. What do you think you're doing?" Questions Shanks as he turns Ace to face him.
Shanks's eyes widen a fraction as he sees a ghost from his past in the little boy in his hand.
"I don't have to fucking tell you." Growls out Ace as his briefest moment of fear passes as he sees that they are not in the hands of Blue Jams men.
This draws Luffy and Zoro from the black lazy fat cat to the alleyway where they hear the voices of kids talking to the two adults that had been standing with them just a moment before. Zoro glances over towards Luffy. She nods her head towards the alleyway. Luffy just nods his head to her as they both walk towards the mouth of the alleyway.
Shanks looks over towards Benn as he tells the raven hair boy up in the air away from his boy as Benn holds the blonde hair boy away from him in the same manner. This is the sight that Zoro and Luffy walk into. "Hey, you're the two boys that run Grey Terminal." Said Luffy with stars in his eyes as he runs up to them jumping up and down.
Now Benn and Shanks look towards the little boy with cocked eyebrows with questions in their eyes. "What do you mean Luffy?" Questions Shanks now crouching down to the little boy's level as Benn had taken the other boy into his free hand as his cigarette hanging from the right side of his lips.
Luffy beams up at him. "I have seen them running around in Grey Terminal when I go over there to….." He looks away as he makes a face as he mumbles something.
"What was that?" Question Shanks looking at him with a questioning look.
"I said. I go to Grey Terminal to steal and find anything I am able to sell. For those stupid Nobles throw away anything they grow broad of. I have given neechan a lot of pretty things I have found there. From pretty rings to pretty necklaces. What I don't give to her. I sell. From time to time I go into High Town and steal from the Nobles." Said Luffy looking away as tears welled up at the corner of his eyes.
This had all five people in the alley staring at him with wide eyes. This four year old admitted to them that he is a thief.
"What do you mean you have been heading into High Town?" Question the blonde hair boy from Benn's right hand.
Luffy looks over towards the blonde hair boy. As tears had now escaped from the corners of his eyes. "I do what I need to do. For there are times I don't have enough money. I can't always rely on nee-chan. As well there are times I am not always able to catch any animals. So….I do what I need to do." He said looking down at his now tiny balled up fist.
Shanks places his right hand on Luffy's left's shoulder. Drawing the little boy to look up at the man crouched up at him. "Luffy, how did you steal from the people in High Town?" He questioned the little boy. This is an important question he needed to know for this little boy has been many secrets. Secrets that needed to come to light, they need to come to light now.
Heaving a heavy breath Luffy let out a long and tired sigh. This made the two boys in Benn's hands to stop fighting. As they needed to know this as well. For they needed to know how he was able to steal from fucking Blue Jams men.
"When I head to High Town…I wear some special clothing. Something I saw in one of those comic books Makino nee-chan had given me as a gift. I dress in all black. I also wrap a black fabric with a bamboo bottom like my sandals with the fabric sewn on it. That I had made myself. I don't wear it when I head there. I carry it in a little backpack. Once I am there. I slip into an alleyway. I changed my clothing. From there I keep to the alleyways, I check the back doors and windows to the houses. You know…" He stops tilting his head to the side as he moves his hands before him, his right hand making a fist as his left hand is flat before him as he smacks his fist on to the flat of his palm. "You know how many of those Nobles do not lock their doors or windows?" He questions looking up at Shanks' wonder in his eyes.
Shanks' eyes widened with shock and horror. "No…I didn't know that." He said as he looked up at Benn and the two boys in his hands as the three shook their heads at him with their own answers as Zoro just snorted for her own answer.
"No…I did not know that." Said Shanks looking at them at the little boy before him. "So…what do you do once you have entered their home?" He questions. An uneasy feeling weighing heavy in his stomach.
"Well, I move around listening to make sure no one is in the house. If someone is there I leave the place. For I am too little to fight anyone and I don't want to get hurt. If there is no one there. I look for any berries and jewelry, gold, or anything valuable that I can sell quickly. As well I am able to carry. I never take too much that they will notice. Like those things that hold candles. For that is too large. Money, they don't notice that, jewelry, they throw that away after a while. For I have found that in the trash heaps in Grey Terminals. I only go into one or two houses every so often. It just depends on when I need money for food or supplies. That is when I don't have enough from the money Grandpa has sent me or when he visits and buys me everything I need for the year." He said with a smile looking up at Shanks.
Everyone….Even Zoro looks at the look boy with shock. That he will do what he needs to leave. Even if it means stealing just to leave.
"How in the hell did you manage to steal from fucking Blue Jam?" Yell's Ace as he finally recovers from his own shock from hearing what this little boy does just to live.
Now everyone is looking from the raven hair boy to Luffy. As Luffy tilts his head to the left in confusion. "Whose Blue Jam?" He questioned looking at the two boys.
Before the two boys could even think of answering the little boy. A group of men walk into the alleyway. "That would be me." Answers Blue Jam with a chuckle.
Shanks. Benn looks over at the group of men and the fool who is claiming to be the name of the two trembling boys in Benn's hands.
Zoro and Luffy tilt their heads to the sides. Looking up at the ugly greasy men standing before them. Before there is a spark in Luffy's eyes. "Oh you're the jackass that I stole that treasure chest from last week." He said as he stood before Shanks. WIth no hint of fear in his voice. No hint of fear in his body languages whatsoever. With the tone of voice he had just spoken in. He didn't fear any of the men standing before him. Unlike the older boys still held in Benn's hands. They even looked at the tiny little boy. The little boy who was staring down a killer, a man who doesn't give a shit if the person in his way is a child or a woman. He will still kill them to reach his gold.
"Oh you feel so powerful with these two men here with you brat?" Questions Blue Jam in a mocking tone as he gives a disgusting grin at the child. "I could sell you to a noble who likes adorable little boys like yourself. I would also double back what I had lost with you." He said with a snort.
Luffy took a step forth. A step away from Shanks. A step away from the adult who could protect him from the bastard standing before him. Luffy's eyes harden to steel never leaving Blue Jam's gaze. An animalistic growl escaping his lips.
Now Shanks, Benn and the other gaze move towards the little boy. The little boy who has been childish, sweet and innocent. Zoro's silver eyes narrow in on the little boy. The little boy she had found annoying once she had first seen him, when she first met him, first spoke to him. 'There is more to this child before me. He isn't like the normal kids from the village I came from. Is this the reaction from the weird training he has received from that insane grandfather that everyone here is frightened of?' She thought to herself.
"I do not. I do repeat. I DO NOT NEED THEM TO PROTECT ME FROM TRASH LIKE YOURSELF." Luffy growls out at the man standing before him. WIth him yelling at the man before him at the end. It made the man take a step back with slight fear in his step as well as his eyes. A slight tremble in his hand that moves slightly towards his sword at his waste.
Out of the corner of his eye. Luffy spots a pipe. A pipe he had left in that alleyway from the last time he had returned from High Town. Where he had picked it up from the trash. Before it could have been thrown into Grey Terminal. His hand reaches out and grabs the pipe leaning against the wall. His tiny fingers wrapped around the pipe. That stands a little taller than himself. He moves with it with ease. As if he had been fighting with it all his life or he had been trained with a bo staff.
"What do you think you're going to do with that brat?" Questions a man standing behind Blue Jam as he chuckles at the sight of a tiny child holding something larger than himself.
A dark smirk crawls across Luffy's lips. "Well what do you think I'm going to be doing with it?" He questions the man.
Hearing the dark tone coming from the child that he has been seeing as a son during his time here. Shanks's eyes widened with shock and slight fear. Fear that his little Luffy could switch gears from sweet and innocent to dark…something he didn't want to think about. Something that makes his head hurt as fear rolls down his back.
Blue Jam scuffs. "You're not going to hurt me with that little toy of yours brat." He said in a laughing mocking tone as he crossed his arms across his chest.
Before anyone knew what had happened a loud crack rang out through the alleyway. Blue Jam crumples down onto the ground. Screaming in pain as the pipe had connected with the man's knee cap. By the sounds of it…It was shattered by just the single swing of the little boy's pipe.
Blue Jam's men take a single step back from the little boy standing before them. Luffy harden gaze, frightening them as they had never seen a child act this way before in their lives.
When they took another step back from the tiny child. Their backs hit something….or someone behind them. Slowly and shakenly they turn to see what is behind them…keeping them there with the little demon that had just taken out their Captain. Standing behind them is the rest of Shanks crew. Yasopp had a nagging feeling. As their Captain, Benn, Luffy, and the new kid should have been at the bar by now. He wasn't the only one with the uneasy feeling as Lucky Roo was already on his feet and heading for the bar door. With this Yasopp had gotten up nodding his head to the others as they all moved out of the bar. Not before saying something. "We'll be right back Makino. We need to go check on our Captain. For he is able to find trouble anywhere he goes." He says with a chuckle and a wave of his hand.
"So what did you fuckers think you where going to do to the kid?" Questions Lucky Roo. As his meat had vanished and now a pistol was in his right hand.
"Nothing…nothing man…" Said one of the pirate flunkies. As he takes a shaky step back towards the little demon frightening them all.
"Well that is not what we have seen." Said Yasopp as two pistols appeared in his own hands. The other members of the Red Hair Pirates smirk with weapons of their own rest on their shoulders and hands.
One of the Blue Jam no names eyes widened in fear. "Your….You're The Red Hair Pirates." He said in fear as he spins on his heel looking over at the Crimson hair man who is just smirking looking at him. His silver eyes holding an amusing but dangerous glint in his eyes.
Shanks smirks as he bows to the frightened man. "I am Shanks. The Captain of The Red Hair Pirates." He told the man grinning now. A grin that made them all feel Death was now looming over the crimson hair man's shoulder grinning at them.
"What…what is a Yanko doing in the weakest of the Blues?" He questions as he loses all feeling in his legs falling on his ass. Trying not to pass out and piss his pants. As he begins dragging his body with his weakened arms into the wall of one of the buildings. "Please…..please don't kill me..I was just following my Captain's orders….We just wanted the easy life….the noblies promised us the easy life if we did a few jobs…that demon there…..got in….our….way….and….stole out…..payment….from…the….nobles…." He said between sobs.
Now this has Shanks wanting to know what the hell is going on. "What are you talking about?" He questions looking at the frightened man. Before he could get any more answers. Blue Jam threw a dagger into the man's chest. From the fear the man passes out. Now bleeding from where the dagger rests just above the heart of the man.
Shanks' silver eyes turn to ice. Freezing the man in place. His arm still stretched out from his throw. "That wasn't very wise Blue Jam." He is in a crisp tone. A tone that sent chills down all the man's spines. As feral smirks now are seen on his men's faces. Knowing what will be happening next.
Ace and Sabo froze. Frozen in fear of the man that saw as a fool. Now they know they are nothing but shit at the bottom of his boots.
Unknown to anyone John sat on the rooftop of the building looking down at them. A smirk on his face. 'Huh, it appears there is more to the little brat. She will be safe with him. If he is able to take a shit stain like Blue Jam down with just a single strike.' He thought. His pistol is still trained on the man. Making sure he wouldn't try anything against the little boy or the Families Future Head.
I have spent a few days on this chapter. I am leaving it off on this cliff hanger.
