A/N: Here is Chapter 5!
Before we begin, first I want to say thank you to all who have been reading this! One of the biggest things I learn is that it's all about the numbers and I have seen a really good jump exponentially in how many people have been reading based on the first 4 chapters so far. Thank you for your support and of course, any feedback is awesome.
Also, if you would like to submit characters (guest stars), I have Google Forms located in my profile. Okay, that was my mini-speech... enjoy!
It was a beautiful day down in Oreburgh City. There was a major influx of trainers who were heading toward the museum to discover fossils. Roark, who wasn't there, asked Joe to work some overtime during the museum. The reason behind it was the trainers that were coming in were all looking for gym badges, which made Roark's job overbooked. While he was working at Oreburgh City Gym, Joe was handling the back office. Joe was wearing a black polo shirt with khakis as he was turning around to count the cash. This was better than working at the ranch, in his opinion.
"Hey!" a familiar voice shouted as Joe looked up, "What's up?"
It was Leona, who was under stress, "We have a distressed customer who apparently got a discount on prices."
"Did the customer use the QR Code from the Pokétch?" asked Joe.
"Yeah… but I couldn't scan because it expired and now we have someone throwing a fit," Leona said.
Joe grumbled as he placed the cash in the drawer and locked it with the key. As he got up, he opened the door as he walked to the ticket counter. There was a woman who was standing there, screaming at the staff. Joe slammed his hands on the counter as he looked at her. She had long brown hair with red eyes as she was looking at him. She had a green t-shirt with white shorts.
"And WHO might you be?" she asked.
"I am the assistant manager of the museum. Roark is booked at the Oreburgh Gym. What may I help you with?"
"Your cashier here is rude and disrespectful. I want my 20 percent discount on my ticket!"
"Where is your code?" he asked.
Respectfully, the woman placed her Pokétch across as Joe picked it up. He scrolled down as he was looking at the QR Code. He sighed as he looked at the fine print, "Ma'am, it looks like your discount expired."
"EXPIRED?" she asked.
"It expired last month," said Joe, "Sorry, got to pay full. We don't take expired discounts."
"THIS… IS NOT OKAY!" she shouted. Turning around, she walked toward him. He grinned as he looked at her. She continued to fuss and lose her temper a little. As she continued, Joe was just standing there. Once she was done, Joe grinned as he waved his hand to tell her to leave, "Have a great day!"
She grumbled as she walked away, "YOU SUCK!"
Leona sighed as she turned around, "She was annoying."
"She's just angry. She'll get over it," Joe responded, "Alright, I got to finish counting the money. I have a date tonight."
"Date?" asked Leona.
"Supposedly to a girl I met online," said Joe, grinning as he walked into the cash office. As he closed the door behind him, Leona continued to take tickets. As she was doing so, Atticus walked toward her, "I heard the front desk was a little insane today?"
"Tell me about it and Joe instigated a customer… respectfully," said Leona, laughing.
Atticus grinned as he was wiping down the counter. Leona continued her job at the museum. She turned around as she looked at Atticus once the line of customers were gone. Leona turned around, seeing the door open. Leona was surprised as she saw Joe dressed. He wore a black suit with a black dress shirt and red tie. He also had black pants and shoes. His hair was also all styled in a cool way, tips at the end. Grinning, he placed his black Energy Crystal around his neck, tucked in as he walked away.
"So," said Leona, looking at Atticus.
"Hmm….," said Atticus, looking at her.
"We only know Joe so much from what he told us. You know, going to Hoenn and so on?" asked Leona.
"Yeah?" asked Atticus, looking at Joe as he was leaving.
"I wonder what he was like before he was a ranger," said Leona.
Atticus chuckled, "I wonder…"
Chapter 5: The Hotshot Special
Joe was walking on the rocky path as he was looked at his mirror. Making sure everything looked great, he brushed off the dust as he was walking toward a white and red mansion. It was the Oreburgh Resort Villa. He grinned as he opened the door. As he walked inside, he turned to see a receptionist standing in the back.
"Hi, welcome to Oreburgh Resort," she said, "How may I help you?"
"Reservations for 2 under Cartwright," Joe responded.
Pressing a few buttons on the computer, the receptionist grinned as she looked at him. Joe smiled as she took out two menus.
"… YOU!"
Joe looked up as he turned around. He stood aghast as he noticed who his mystery date was. She had long brown hair with red eyes but this time, she wore a sparkly emerald dress. Her heels were also ruby with sapphire diamonds.
"… You?" asked Joe.
"You're my date?" she asked.
"I guess you are," he responded, "Hopefully, you don't throw a fit. It's a major turn off."
Within three minutes, the receptionist took Joe and the woman he dealt with earlier to a table. As the two sat down, the woman looked at him as Joe stared at her. He could tell she was not there. Immediately, he looked up as he noticed a waiter walking toward them.
"Welcome to Oreburgh Villa. What can I get for you to drink?"
"I'll take a glass of Cherubi Grigio," said Joe, "I love your wines. What do you want?"
She grumbled as she looked at her, "I will take a Black Persian… tall draft."
"Gladly," the waiter said. He turned around as he walked away. Joe looked at her, "So, wine is not your taste."
"Wine is for… yeah. I prefer a beer… or two," she said.
"You know, wine is classy," he said, grinning, looking at her, "And for someone so angry, you are very pretty."
"I am NOT angry," she said.
Joe chuckled, "Speak for yourself. Have you looked in the mirror lately?"
"Listen, you… I didn't expect to see you as my date. I expected someone more rough," she said, "Rough around the edges?"
Joe laughed, "Oh, you prefer those guys."
"Yeah, you are softie," she said, looking at him, "You think you're all tough."
Joe laughed as he looked at her, "Oh Jenny. You don't know me at all."
As the waiter came back with their drinks, Joe was looking at the menu as he was staring at her. Grinning, he looked at her as she was reading through the menu, "So, tell me… where are you from?"
Jenny, angry as she was, looked at him as she turned to him, "I'm from Lilycove City."
"The Hoenn Region?" asked Joe, "Nice region, nice place."
"Well… it was great to live, until evil doers stronger than Team Aqua or Team Magma came to destroy it. I heard those Poké Rangers were great but weren't strong enough to defeat that thing in the news a month ago. Luckily, my town wasn't destroyed," she said, angrily.
Rather than getting angry to hear about what she said, Joe sighed as he looked at the menu and then at her, "It seems like it's painful for you."
"Well," Jenny said, "Yeah. That's why I want to travel and get away before more evil destroys this whole world. I had hope in them… but after that happened, I packed my bags and fled to Sinnoh… but its looking like the same things are happening here. Anyway, why so calm?"
Joe looked at her as he was reading the menu, selecting what he wanted, "I am calm because where I am from, if you aren't calm, Pokémon could run you over. My dad is Benjamin Cartwright and he owns one of the biggest ranches in Solaceon Town. As the youngest of three, there were a lot of expectations forced on me. One was being calm. We have a lot of Pokémon that need care."
"That is so cool that you did that," she said, "The other people I dated never did something like that."
"Well, everybody has a different role," said Joe, "Mine was just taking care of the Miltank, the Tauros and the Rapidash… while taming my own Zebstrika."
"You have a Unova Pokémon?" asked Jenny, in response.
"Yeah, it was a gift," said Joe, grinning, "Never left it behind."
Jenny grinned as she looked at him, sipping her glass, "Joe, I thought you were very soft. But, I see your calm demeanor is really gratifying."
Joe said nothing as he smiled, finishing his glass. He turned around as he saw the waiter come toward him.
"What would you like for dinner?" he asked.
"I would like… Fried Chicken Corn Curry," said Joe.
"I'll go for… Ravioli Alfredo," said Jenny, grinning.
The waiter grinned as he turned to them, "I'll put them in. It's going to be a while, so why don't you go to the dance floor?"
Jenny and Joe turned around, noticing the dance floor. It was full of people dancing around with a DJ who had an Electabuzz running the tables. Joe grinned as he looked at Jenny, "Ever danced with someone from the ranch before?"
"No," said Jenny, laughing.
Joe stood up as he stretched his hand out, "May I have this dance?"
Meanwhile…
"Come on, Joe!"
Grayson was sitting in Dino Paradise with Lisa as he was pressing his button on his Dino Com, which were the five smart watches created by Professor Rowan. There was nothing but static on the other end. He turned around as he looked at Lisa, "You would think if there was an emergency, Joe would come running."
"Maybe he's overbooked," said Lisa, "He was the assistant manager at the museum."
"Job or not, a threat is imminent," said Grayson, looking at Drake. Drake couldn't rebuttal for Grayson had a valid point.
A flash of red and blue light surrounded Atticus and Leona as they arrived at Dino Paradise.
"What's going on?" asked Leona.
"It looks like Ferro Fett sent another creature," said Grayson, looking at them, "And we need Joe."
"… Joe?" asked Leona, "He's on a date."
Grayson stood up as he looked at Leona, "HE'S DATING?"
"Yeah," said Lisa, looking at Grayson, "He's been talking to some girl for a good two weeks."
Grayson calmed down as he looked at all three of them. Drake turned around as he looked at them, "Well, we don't have time to wait for him. The Oreburgh Resort will be in trouble if we don't intercept."
The rangers nodded in response. Grayson and Lisa stretched their arms as their energy crystals were received. The four rangers walked toward the teleportation device and placed their Fossil Blasters to the floor…
Back at Oreburgh Villa…
Country music was playing in the background as everyone was doing a line dance. Joe and Jenny were standing on either side as they got to the end of the line. Putting their hands together, Joe and Jenny went down the line twice in between the guests. Everyone was shouting "hey" to a steady beat as the dance continued. Once everyone got through, the music changed to hip hop with slow dancing. Jenny hung on to Joe as they were slow dancing through.
"Wow," said Jenny, looking at him, "You definitely weren't kidding when you said you were a good dancer."
Joe grinned as he turned around, "You're also very good too."
She grinned as she looked at him, "No one has ever treated me this way before."
"Maybe you needed someone with a gentle touch," said Joe.
Jenny locked on to Joe's eyes as her face started to go toward Joe. As Joe's lips began to brush hers, a disruption occurred. Everyone was screaming as they heard the sound of table flipping. Joe turned around as he saw a group of Mooks stealing jewelry all over the place.
"What the heck?" asked Joe.
As one jumped toward him, Joe grabbed the Mook by the neck and threw it down. The Mook squirmed as he landed on the ground. Joe kicked two more, protecting Jenny. Jenny was a little traumatized as he kicked a few of them in the stomach. As the Mooks squirmed, Jenny turned around as she looked at him, "Joe… are you okay?"
"I'm fine," said Joe.
Grabbing her by the hand, he dashed toward the exit. As they were both running, a black aura surrounded them as Joe was hit. Jenny screamed as she fell toward him. Joe caught her as they turned to see a black humanoid creature. He was a Fearow creature with red feathers and blue lines. His eyes were golden yellow and had a brown and red bandana. He also had a golden plate with a green bag.
"I see we have some meddlers," he said.
"Yes, we do…," said Joe, "And who are you?"
"Commander Krowgular," he said, laughing, "Stealing all of the jewelry, I hope to find the Energy Crystals for Ferro Fett."
"Just what we need…," said Joe, turning around.
Immediately, golden blasts pierced Krowgular a little. Joe turned around as Leona and the others arrived, morphed. Jenny turned around to see them, "Wow… that's awesome."
"Get her to safety," said Leona.
Joe nodded. He dashed over toward one of the closets as he looked at Jenny. Jenny turned around as he opened the door. Joe placed her in, "Stay in the closet, don't move until you hear three knocks."
"But, what about you?" asked Jenny.
Joe grinned as he kissed her on the lips, "I'll be fine. I'll be back for you."
Closing the door, Joe turned around as he was heading back in the opposite direction. As he arrived outside, the four rangers were hit. Krowgular laughed as he looked at him, "Oh, tough guy wants to play?"
Joe reached for his pocket as he picked up his Fossil Charger, "Armaldo Charger, Energize!"
Pressing the button on his charger, black energy surrounded his body as he did his dance. Removing his Fossil Blaster, he opened up the blaster as he placed the charger in the blaster.
Armaldo Charger, Energize!
Spinning the blaster, a black aura surrounded it, "Unleash the Power!"
An Armaldo erupted out of the blaster as he transformed into his ranger suit.
"Armaldo! Dino Charge Black!"
The five rangers took out their Fossil Blasters and pulled the trigger. Shooting multiple blasts, the Fossil Blaster beams did little effect to Krowgular.
"Wow, not even a scratch," said Joe.
"Dino Armor!" said Leona, "Now!"
Sliding the blaster across their right arms, their weapons appeared in their hands. Lisa and Grayson used their Bastiodon Drill and Kabutops Slasher. Krowgular spun around as a blue barrier surrounded it, causing both weapons to be ineffective.
"How?" asked Lisa.
"Good question," said Grayson.
"We got this!" Leona said, turning to Atticus.
Atticus and Leona jumped up as they used their weapons. The Carracosta Shield dug into Krowgular's armor, bouncing Atticus back. Next, Leona's Tyrantrum Fang went in for the strike, only to pierce the armor. Krowgular laughed as he looked at them, "You are insane!"
Joe observed each attack. What he noticed was that the golden plating in his armor had a small crack. Joe nodded as he raised his Armaldo Claw. As he went to aim, he locked on as he went to strike him down. Immediately, Krowgular just missed him as he hopped over.
"So close… guess I better go!" he said.
In a black aura, he disappeared. The other rangers looked up as Joe stood in front. Removing his Fossil Blaster, he opened it as the charger popped out. A black aura surrounded him as his suit disappeared. He went back inside, heading toward the center of the lobby. Opening the door, he stood in surprise, noticing the closet door empty.
"Jenny?" asked Joe, "Jenny!"
The other rangers ran over, noticing she was also missing. Joe turned around as he looked at the others, "Just my luck."
Meanwhile…
"Ooh, look at all of this jewelry," said Turnchou.
Krowgular started to dump his whole bag all over the bridge floor. Cremelia was standing there, looking at the jewels, "I can't WAIT to examine this!"
"There better be an energy crystal in that haul," a voice said.
The villains turned around. Ferro Fett was marching toward him, angry that he was looking at each group. Ferro Fett was looking at Krowgular, "But, knowing my luck, there aren't any."
Shockhound rolled his eyes as he turned around to look at the group, "You need a better monster than that."
"Excuse you!" he shouted.
Shockhound chuckled as he turned around, walking away. Ferro Fett went toward Shockhound, ready to shoot him down. Cremelia turned around as she looked at Turnchou, "I'll leave this to you. Hopefully, we can steal the crystals without the rangers knowing."
Meanwhile…
"Well, talk about a road block," said Lisa, looking at the battle footage.
"No weapon will work on him," said Grayson, turning to the team, "But, Leona put a huge dent into the shield armor."
Joe said nothing as Leona nodded, "I was able to get there… but still it won't be enough."
The rangers were sitting together at the table as they were looking at the screen. Drake turned around as he looked at the battery, "Well, what if you needed something stronger?"
The rangers turned around as they saw that Drake had a Fossil Charger in hand. Placing the charger down, the rangers looked at it as they saw the charger. It was porcelain blue with the number 13 on it.
"Fossil Charger 13: Dino Spiker," he said.
"What does it do?" asked Atticus.
"Simple. The Dino Spiker combines all five of your weapons to be one huge weapon. It can piece any armored object," said Drake.
"That's good," said Atticus, looking at the battery and examining what he saw.
Joe examined it as he held it in his hand. Looking at it, he scratched his chin as he went to place the battery in his pocket, looking up to see that the other rangers were in deep discussion. Joe turned around as he went to get up. He headed over toward the exit with his Fossil Blaster in place. Pulling the trigger, a black energy beam surrounded him as he teleported.
"What's with him?" asked Leona.
"I think with Jenny escaping, it got Joe concerned," said Grayson, shaking his head. He looked over to see his Typhlosion on the table. Petting it, his Typhlosion let out a huge sigh, "Bud, if you only knew."
"I wonder if she left knowing she wasn't safe?" asked Lisa, looking at the team. She stood up as she was watering the plants that were currently there with her Squirtbottle. She turned around as she looked at her own Meganium, who was feeding Drake's plants with some aromatherapy from her petals.
"Well, that could be," said Leona, turning around, "Krowgular did ruin his date."
Suddenly, there was a loud alarm that filled the whole headquarters. Drake looked up as he turned to see what was going on, "He's back!"
"Let's use the Dino Spiker," said Leona, turning around to the battery holder. She then noticed that the Dino Spiker battery was missing. The red ranger turned around as she looked at them, "Who had it last?"
Atticus turned around as he looked at each of them, "… Joe?"
Meanwhile…
Krowgular and the Mooks were destroying the business district of Oreburgh City. Mooks were coming across, destroying and smashing jewelry stores to rob. Krowgular laughed as he looked at the Mooks. The Mooks laughed as he had a whole chest full of jewels. Krowgular laughed even more as he turned around, seeing a fair woman running away. Krowgular opened his wings as he went toward her, carrying the chest.
"Time for your jewelry!"
As she went to scream, a black beam of energy hit the chest. As the chest exploded, the jewels fell on the floor. The woman turned around to see Joe, morphed with his Fossil Blaster in hand. He dashed over as he turned to her, "Are you okay?"
"Ah, so if it isn't Casanova!" he shouted.
The woman fled to safety, leaving Joe with his Fossil Blaster, "Now, I am going to make sure you pay for what you did!"
As he went to strike, four streaks of light appeared above him as the others arrived with their Fossil Sabers. Cutting across, Krowgular was hit hard as he landed on the ground. Looking ahead, the rangers turned to each other as they looked at Joe, who stood in front of him.
"So, where is it?" asked Leona.
Joe turned around as he looked at her. Pushing them away, he withdrew his Fossil Blaster, "Dino Armor, engage!"
Sliding the blaster on his right shoulder, his Armaldo Claw appeared. Grabbing it, he then placed the Fossil Battery in the other hand, "Dino Spiker, Engage!"
Inserting it into a slot in the Armaldo Claw, a purple aura surrounded it. Joe cringed as the surge went through his whole body. As he tried to aim, an explosion surrounded him. Joe yelled as he flipped forward. The other rangers fell backwards as Joe landed on the ground. A black aura surrounded him as his uniform disappeared. Joe cringed as he was rolling. His black energy crystal also fell out of his pocket. Krowgular laughed as he looked at him, "Ah, so you have one to begin with!"
Picking it up, he kicked Joe to the side as Krowgular laughed hysterically. A blue aura surrounded him as he disappeared. The rangers dashed over to him as Joe lay on the ground, unconscious…
A few hours later…
"Joe?"
Joe's eyes opened as he looked at the ceiling of Dino Paradise. He didn't know what to say nor wasn't sure what was going on. Getting up from the rock bed that he was on, he noticed an angry Drake, glaring at him with anger as he went to back away. The keeper of the crystals wanted more than just a talk.
"I am glad you're alive," he said, "But, do you have any idea what you just did?"
Joe turned around, "What do you mean? I tried to use those batteries."
"But, you needed five weapons to do so," said Grayson, looking at him. Joe glared at him, knowing that Grayson was right, but he wanted to keep his cool.
"Out of all people, you should know better on working together as a team. So much for experience," said Atticus, looking at Joe. Joe cringed, but Atticus continued, "Let me guess, Jenny?"
Joe looked up as he turned to both Grayson and Atticus, "I appreciate it if you mind your own business."
He headed toward the exit, disappearing again. Grayson and Atticus looked at each other as Joe disappeared.
Meanwhile…
Joe was walking toward the outskirts of Oreburgh City, just north of where the Villa was. Jenny, who was waiting for him, asked him to come see her. From what it looked like, it wasn't a happy text. Joe walked in with bruises as he headed toward the border of the city. Jenny had her backpack on as she was looking at him. He was very surprised as he was looking at her, "You're leaving aren't you?"
Jenny turned around as she looked at him, "Yeah."
Joe walked forward as he reached for her hand, but she refused. She turned around as she looked at the ground, "Listen, Joe… I saw… I saw it all."
Joe looked at her, "What do you mean?"
"You fought that beast… with the rangers didn't you?"
Joe fell silent. She caught him, not knowing she could find out. Jenny looked at him as he turned around in guilt. Jenny placed her hand on him, "I am not saying what you did was wrong. But, I am afraid our relationship could get worse. What if you get killed?"
Joe said nothing as he turned to her, "I wouldn't let that happen."
"Really?" she asked, looking at the bandage on his right cheek, "How did you get that?"
"… Krowgular," said Joe, confessing with sadness. Jenny nodded slowly as she turned to him, "Maybe when you defeat these monsters, I'll think about getting back."
Joe put his head down as Jenny started walking away from him. Joe sighed as he took a deep breath. Between getting his Energy Crystal stolen and now being dumped, it felt like two possessions had been ripped from his soul. He looked up to notice a familiar face. Leona stood there to watch the whole conversation. He only glanced once and then found a bench. Sitting down, he looked at the sunset, upset with what had just happened.
"So," said Leona, "I guess being a hero takes more than just losing someone you love. Between getting your energy crystal and that-."
"It's a sacrifice people make," said Joe, looking at her, "The sacrifices I made… to be a hero. I thought I could handle both."
Leona listened to Joe rant about it. The fact that Joe was trying to handle everything and juggle, made her want to know more about him, "So, how did you get your energy crystal anyway?"
"The Hoenn Region to be honest," said Joe, "You see, my dad sent me to a Pokémon Training High School in Sootopolis City. Little did I know Team Dracos took control."
"Team Dracos? Who are they?" asked Leona.
"A team of highly skilled ninja warriors who searched to use Rayquaza for their own methods… it's a long story. But, I ran into two of my best friends in Hoenn… and that is where our relationship began. When I went into the principal's office that day to tell them I was worthy. Well, I was caught with two of my best friends. We were going to be used as sacrifices to the Ship of Jirachi."
"Interesting artifact," said Leona.
"Well, I fought one of them. He knocked me into the ocean," said Joe. Looking at the ground, "As I was drowning for dear life, I managed to catch the Relic Detectors, the morphing devices that my friends needed. Well, I almost drowned, if it weren't that my shirt got caught on to the Claw Fossil. It had an Energy Crystal inside. I bonded with it and that's how I was able to break free and save my friends! I also was using the time between then and now to learn how to use the Fossil Blaster and the Energy Crystal. I was able to help stop Team Magma, Aqua and Dracos. It was an all out war…"
Leona turned around as she looked at him, "Well, I want to know more about the Hoenn Rangers eventually. Right now, we got to head back to the base and pinpoint your crystal."
Immediately, they heard the sounds of their Dino Coms. Activating their watches, Drake's image appeared, "Krowgular appeared… and it looks like he's using Joe's crystal as a catalyst."
"We'll handle it," said Joe, turning to Leona. Leona grinned as Joe stood up, "It's time I stopped being a hotshot and actually think. Ready?"
Leona nodded as she and Joe started running back to Oreburgh City.
Meanwhile..
Krowgular laughed as he had a golden chest. Using the black Energy Crystal, it began to shine as Krowgular tried to use it. Laughing, black sparks struck out, destroying windows of more stores. Mooks dashed over to grab more jewelry. Krowgular laughed as he looked at the jewels, "Thanks, Black Ranger for the jewels."
He turned around as he saw Turnchou, grinning as he was observing the situation, "Krowgular, the rangers have their crystals. It would be amazing to see if we can use their crystals like you did to cause more damage!"
Suddenly, there were explosions surrounding the area. Turnchou, Krowgular and the Mooks turned around to see Grayson, Atticus and Lisa dashing toward them. Lisa flipped forward as she kicked a few of the Mooks down with her feet. Spinning around, she kicked another one in the stomach. Atticus grabbed one of the Mooks and threw him on the floor. Atticus elbowed the Mook in the head and then kicked another one in the stomach. As he landed on the ground, Grayson jump kicked a few of them and then used his Fossil Saber to slash the rest. Krowgular laughed as he was looking at them. Golden energy was coming from the plate as he channeled the Black Energy Crystal, "Let's see how much power this thing can actually do."
Releasing black beams of light, the rangers were hit. Explosions surrounded the three of them as they landed on the pavement. Krowgular laughed as he was turning to Turnchou, "No need for weapons now… the Black Ranger did the right thing."
Suddenly, a golden blast went straight through, piercing the crystal. Turnchou and Krowgular looked up as the Energy Crystal fell off Krowgular. The crystal began to shine in a black aura as it went straight toward Joe, who stood with Leona next to him.
"Great shot," he said.
Joe walked forward as he went to help Grayson, Atticus and Lisa up. Leona stood by as she turned to him, "If you wanted our crystals that bad, robbing the city wasn't the right choice."
"Exactly," said Joe, "You destroyed a lot of people's lives and crushed a lot of hearts… including mine. Now you are going to pay for it!"
"Try me," said Krowgular, "Just a heads up that your armor can't destroy mine."
"We'll see about that," said Joe, taking out his Fossil Charger, "Let's Poké Battle!"
The rangers stood in a line with their Fossil Chargers, "Fossil Chargers, Energize!"
Pressing the buttons on the Fossil Chargers, the rangers did a little dance, spinning around as they had their Fossil Blasters in hand. Opening them, the rangers placed their Fossil Chargers in the Fossil Blasters.
Tyrantrum Charger, Energize!
Armaldo Charger, Energize!
Carracosta Charger, Energize!
Kabutops Charger, Energize!
Bastiodon Charger, Energize!
The rangers spun the blasters. A golden aura surrounded each blaster as they struck their blasters in the air, "Unleash the Power!"
Pulling the trigger, the Prehistoric Pokémon were unleashed as they landed on the rangers. A white glow surrounded them as their suits arrived.
"Tyrantrum! Dino Charge Red!"
"Armaldo! Dino Charge Black!"
"Carracosta! Dino Charge Blue!"
"Kabutops! Dino Charge Green!"
"Bastiodon! Dino Charge Pink!"
"Poké Rangers Dino Charge!"
Posing, there were explosions that appeared around them. Leona turned around as she looked at Krowgular, "It's about to get wild!"
"Wild my… Mooks, do something!" shouted Turnchou.
The rangers turned around as they all split up facing the Mooks. Each of the rangers jumped up as they appeared in all different corners with their Fossil Blasters. Leona did a spinning hook kick as she kicked a few Mooks in the face. She then pulled the trigger as more of the Mooks were hit, being destroyed by each blast. Turning around, she saw a few coming toward her. She took out a Fossil Charger.
"Tyrantrum Charger, Energize!"
Pressing the button, she pressed the charger in the blaster. Spinning the blaster, Leona aimed as she pulled the trigger, "Rock Head Blast!"
A Tyrantrum struck out as the Mooks were all run over by the head of Tyrantrum. Red sparks surrounded them as the creatures landed on the ground. Explosions erupted as Leona turned around with her blaster.
Joe blocked each strike from the Mooks as he hid behind a few trees. The Mooks had green gourd shaped cannons that were shooting across. Luckily, Joe was able to find cover. Joe turned around as he picked up his Fossil Saber. Pressing the button on the saber, the blade shrunk into the holster, a silver nozzle popped out. He then took out his Armaldo Charger.
"Armaldo Charger, Energize!"
Pressing the button, he pressed the charger in the Fossil Blaster and then put the extension attached to it, "Fossil Punisher!"
Hiding behind the tree, he did a shoulder roll as he pulled the trigger. A slew of black bullet like blasts emerged out of his blaster, piercing the Mooks. The Mooks screamed as they landed on the ground. As more were coming toward him, Joe noticed three yellow oil canisters. Shooting the canisters, an explosion appeared as the Mooks fell, landing on the ground.
"Carracosta Charger, Energize!"
Atticus, watching, followed Joe's suit as he tackled a few of them to the ground. Placing the Carracosta Charger in the Fossil Blaster, he placed the extension on as he spun the blaster. Aiming, a blue aura surrounded the blaster as he aimed toward the sky, "Scald!"
Pulling the trigger, a stream of blue bullets appeared out of the blaster and then headed down toward the creatures. Mooks were bombed by each of the attacks. As each Mook was impaled, the Mooks screamed as they fell on the ground, exploding in response.
Grayson kicked a few of the creatures as he used his Fossil Saber. Slashing each of them, Grayson spun around as he kicked another creature in the stomach. He flipped forward as he punched another creature in the stomach. Grayson turned as he took out his Fossil Charger, "Kabutops Charger, Energize!"
Pressing the green charger in his saber, a green aura surrounded it as he raised his blade, "Slash!"
Green lines struck out as each of the Mooks fell to the ground, exploding into pieces. He turned around as he struck another Mook in the face, causing him to fall on the ground. Grayson kicked the creature off his leg as he stretched his blade.
Lisa kicked a few of the creatures as she flipped backwards. She then turned around as she pressed her Fossil Charger, "Basitodon Charger, Energize!"
She placed the charger in the Fossil Blaster. She then placed her Fossil Blaster on her right shoulder, "Dino Armor, engage!"
As she spun to activate her Fossil Blaster, her Bastiodon Drill appeared. A pink aura surrounded both weapons. She jumped up as she began to spin like a drill, "Drill Run!"
Spinning through, the Mooks yelled as they were hit by the attack. She went straight through, heading toward Krowgular. Krowgular laughed as his armor began to activate. Upon contact, pink and purple energy erupted as Lisa fell backwards. Lisa turned around as she tried to get up. Krowgular went to strike her down, only for a black bullets to strike him. Turning around to see where he was getting shot from, Joe and the others arrived with their weapons.
"Dino Armor, engage!"
The other weapons arrived as each ranger had them. Krowgular laughed as a purple aura surrounded his armor, "No one can destroy my armor!"
Joe laughed as he looked at them, "Leona, shall we?"
"Yep!" shouted Leona.
Joe stretched out a light blue charger in front of the others, "Dino Spiker, Engage!"
Pressing the button, a blue charger surrounded it as Joe threw it in the air. The weapons were thrown up in the air as well. The Tyrantrum Fang stood as the base. The Carracosta Shield was placed on top of the Tyrantrum Fang. The Armaldo Claw and Kabutos Slasher connected to either side of the blaster. The Basitodon Drill connected to the end. The Dino Spiker charger went inside the front of the blaster. A golden energy surge surrounded it as Joe grabbed it.
Turnchou turned around, "Activate it!"
"FULL POWER!" shouted Krowgular.
A purple surge surrounded him as his energy began to build. Joe climbed up on top of the other rangers as he stretched out the weapon, "Dino Spiker, Horn Drill!"
As the spiker was thrown, it turned into a horn as it started spinning. Tyrantrum, Armaldo, Carracosta, Kabutops and Bastiodon emerged out as it pierced the armor. The drill went straight through the armor and through his body. Krowgular screamed as he fell on the ground, exploding into pieces. The Dino Spiker began to glow as it separated, transforming back into their weapons.
Turnchou sighed as he looked at the rangers. The rangers turned to him as Turnchou picked up a grey and black device, "Maracturne, Magna Beam!"
A green beam struck out of the sky, hitting Krowgular's corpse. Krowgular's body began to regenerate as it grew mega sized. Krowgular screamed as his wings spread out. His claws were sharper, destroying buildings and more. Immediately, Joe turned to Grayson and then Leona.
"Let's do this," said Joe, "Let's combine!"
"Combine?" asked Grayson.
"Yeah," said Leona, "Shall we?"
Grayson, Joe and Leona stood as they took out their Fossil Chargers. Each ranger pressed a button on their Fossil Charger.
"Tyrantrum…"
"Kabutops…"
"Armaldo…"
"I choose you!"
Throwing their Fossil Chargers, a red, black and green aura surrounded them as their zords appeared. Tyrantrum spread its legs and did a flip as it landed on the ground. Kabutops struck out as its blades were sharpening. An Armaldo leapt out as it raised its claws. Krowgular went to attack Armaldo, only for Armaldo to release golden beams from its mouth, shooting him down. Krowgular turned around as a steel-iron like tail from Armaldo pierced his back. Screaming, Krowgular landed on the ground.
"Tyrantrum…"
"Armaldo…"
"Kabutops…"
"Tri-Fossil Fusion!"
Immediately, Tyrantrum opened its mouth. Black and green energy surrounded Armaldo and Kabutops as Tyrantrum ingested the energy. A red aura surrounded the Tyrantrum as the legs began to rise higher, seeing robotic feet. The Tyrantrum Zord roared as the upper body rotated, leaving the tail to be the left side and the head of the zord on the right. The Kabutops Zord jumped up in the air. Folding its legs and stretching its blade like arms, it connected to the left side of the Dino Charge Megazord. The Armaldo Zord jumped up as it folded its arms and legs. The tail turned into a sharp edge nozzle. The head of the zord connected to the other part of the Tyrantrum. Finally, the head of the Dino Charge Megazord was formed.
Leona, Joe and Grayson spun their Fossil Blasters and pointed them downward. In a flash, red, black and green aura surrounded them as they teleported to the cockpit. The cockpit was similar to the Dino Charge Megazord, except it had a red, black and green cockpit. Leona stood in the middle with Joe and Grayson on either side. The rangers placed their Fossil Blasters in the holster.
"Dino Shotgun Megazord!"
Krowgular laughed as he released his feathers. Black feathers came across as sharp arrowheads, heading toward the Dino Shotgun Megazord. Using Armaldo's tail, black bullets shot out as the arrowheads exploded. Flipping forward, the Kabutops arm slashed Krowgular across. Krowgular spun around as he held on. He opened his golden shield, "Shadow Pulse!"
Black and violet energy was unleashed as the Dino Shotgun Megazord was hit. Explosions surrounded it as the team hung on. Joe turned around as he used his Fossil Blaster, "Enough of this… Rock Slide!"
Slamming the tail to the ground, rocks erupted from the ground, hitting Krowgular. As Krowgular started to stumble, black and green energy surrounded the Dino Shotgun Megazord. The rangers took out their Fossil Blasters.
"Dino Charge Megazord, Rock Blast!"
Pulling the trigger, 25 black and purple boulders erupted out of Armaldo's weapon. Piercing the armor, Krowgular screamed as more came in contact. As the armor was destroyed, the Rock Blast boulder smacked the creature in the face as an explosion surrounded it. Krowgular yelled as he flew miles away, exploding into pieces.
"Hey guys!" shouted Lisa, "It looks like whatever you did… the jewelry he stole landed right outside of Mt. Coronet? Drake just told us."
"Wow… I guess this finisher sends them blasting off… again," said Joe.
Leona rolled her eyes as she looked at him, "Come on, let's see how much Krowgular stole."
Outside Mt. Coronet…
Joe stood there as he was looking at the new Megazord standing outside of Mt. Coronet. He was amazed at all the jewelry that the rangers were trying to retrieve. The police, who were sitting outside, were helping the others try to bring the jewelry Krowgular stole back to the original places. The fact that it was all over Mt. Coronet made Joe wonder how far Ferro Fett was willing to go.
"So," said Joe, "Turning around as he looked at them. At least that monster is gone!"
"Gone? Try destroyed by our powers," said Grayson, grinning.
"Too bad Tyrantrum can't combine with all five," said Atticus, grinning.
"That would be epic," said Lisa, laughing.
The rangers turned around as they were watching more of the police haul the rest in boxes, heading back to Oreburgh City. As Joe went to walk away, he turned to his left. He looked to see Jenny, who was standing next to the tree trunk. She smiled as she looked at him. Joe went to walk toward her, only to see Jenny go behind the tree. Instantly, a Charizard arrived as she hopped on, flying away. Joe looked up as he watched her fly. She would see him again. He grinned as he turned to Leona. Leona nodded as she patted him on the shoulder. The five of them turned, returning to Oreburgh City.
Meanwhile…
"Are you kidding me?"
Ferro Fett slammed his fist on the chair, "Those rangers destroyed another one of my monsters and we were so close in analyzing the Energy Crystal."
Turnchou groaned as he looked at him. As Ferro Fett started his crazy rampage, Turnchou turned around as he went down the corridor. He looked up as he turned around to close the door. Sighing, he turned around as he looked around his room. After hearing him rampage, he heard something shake. Turnchou walked over as he looked at a silver case. He opened to see an amber-like crystal that was sparkling. It made Turnchou curious to run some tests to see what he learned. He picked it up to see that its energy level was beyond comparison.
"Hmm…. This was in the robbery? I wonder if Krowgular did something right," said Turnchou, looking at it.
Next Chapter…
Joe and Grayson are at it again! The rangers have to learn how to work together as a team. Cremelia has something up her sleeve and it involves Joe and his own teeth! Also, Drake senses a presence of something interesting… I wonder what it is?
Poké Rangers Dino Charge Chapter 6: Cremelia Dentistry
A/N: I know! Almost got our first romance. This was also an interesting chapter to write because if you read Relic Hunters, we learn a little bit about Joe and his character, but we learn why he can become impulsive! And now there is a question. What did Turnchou find? Will it be worth it? Well, I am sure more will come. Those artifacts will help set the stage for Poké Rangers Sinnoh. Positively, Cremelia Dentistry will be a fun chapter to write. It will start our new mini story arc, which will lead into a bigger arc and that will literally last basically throughout the whole month of July.
Also, side note: If you have been following me, Poké Rangers Turbo: Going into Overdrive, which is a crossover between Seasons 4 and 5 of the Hoenn series is almost done, I just need to write the concluding chapter. Sometime in the Fall, I will be working on the next crossover, which will be covering the Space Rangers and the Bandstand Rangers. I have something in mind, but haven't decided when I'm premiering it yet.
Well, that is all until next week. Enjoy the wonderful weekend and see you next Thursday!
