"NO LEV, STOP THIS!" Olga Marie yells as she is swallowed by CHALDEAS.

"You have no aptitude as a Magus, you cannot even form a contract with Servant." Lev states. "A failure such as yourself should not even exist, and I will take great pleasure in erasing your worthless existence."

"NO, NO, NO!" Olga's body breaks down more and more. "I JUST WANTED RECOGNITION! I JUST WANTED TO BE SOMETHING!"

A girl who tried her hardest to live up to her father's achievements, who tried to maintain the legacy he left behind yet no matter what she did, no one seemed to care.

"NO ONE EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE ME!" Her feet cross the first protective contour. "NO ONE EVER LOVED ME!" Scenes play out of the staff in Chaldea barely batting an eye on her presence and openly gossip behind her back. No matter how much she tried to live up to their expectations, there was always something that was holding her back. "EVERYONE HATED ME! I NEVER ACHIEVED ANYTHING IN MY LIFE!"

Suddenly, something shines above and a hand made of light extends out. Olga Marie tries to reach for the hand as her body is rapidly being consumed by CHALDEAS. She uses all the strength she musters as her hand draws closer and closer to the other, to the being that will save her.

Everything goes white.

Olga Marie's eyes snap wide open and are greeted by the white metallic ceiling. "Where… am I?"

"Look who finally decided to wake up."

Olga Marie turns her head to see Romani alongside another person sitting next to her. He has dark black spiky hair and a tanned complexion. His eyes are black with no visible pupils and felt akin to staring at the void. He is wearing a black overcoat along with a black t-shirt underneath. She also notices an emerald ring on his left hand.

"W-who…?" Suddenly her eyes widen as she starts to remember everything and snaps upwards. "LEV!"

"Woah, calm down chief. Save your strength." Romani said.

"Romani…?" Olga Marie mutters.

"Lev's been dealt with, he won't hurt you anymore." I assured her.

"Y-You… what did you…" Olga Marie struggles to ask.

"I saved you, of course." I smiled.

Olga Marie stares at me with downcast eyes. "I… I don't understand… I tried so hard to be the best…" She tightens her grip on the sheets.

Romani gives her a sympathetic look. "Chief…"

"And… and Lev, he was always there to help me. I don't understand why he did this." She breaks into sobs. "Why would Lev-"

"Tried to kill you?" Olga flinches a little. "He was likely planning for this to happen from the start. He wanted to get closer to the inner workings of the organization so he took advantage of your inferiority complex to get closer to his goal while dismissing any sort of suspicion towards him." I theorized." He may have wanted to stop Chaldea from trying to fix the singularity by taking out all threats."

Olga Marie's head snaps up and sends me a glare. "You don't know that! Lev must have been hypnotized by an enemy magus! He would never try to kill me!"

"Do you honestly believe that?" I lean closer with a hardened expression. "Lev wanted to kill you and seemed furious that we stood in his way. You saw it in his eyes, that look of sadistic glee as he forced you into the core. That was not the result of magecraft, that was pure genuine emotion. He really wanted you and the rest of Chaldea dead and gone."

"I'm afraid Frank has a point, Chief. There was no possible way Doctor Lev was controlled." Romani added.

Tears fall from her face as she begins to cry. The one person she cared about betrayed and tried to kill her. "Why? Why would he do such a thing?"

I move in closer and wrap my arms around her and she clings onto me. "You are hyperventilating. Calm down."

Olga Marie takes a few deep breaths. "I… just don't know. What do I do now?"

"For now, rest." I gently push her down to bed. "You have gone through a lot today, so get some sleep." I stand up and move towards the door until I feel something tugging my sleeve. "Hm?"

"Please… don't leave." Olga Marie pleads.

I nod. "Understood."

"I'll leave you two alone. I have to go back and finish the repairs." He looks at me. "Watch over the chief for me, she needs a friend now more than ever." With that, Romani walks towards the door and leaves.

Without a second thought I sit back on my chair and watch over Olga as we conversed, her hand close to mine. At that moment, the door opens revealing Mashu in a completely different outfit. Instead of her purple armor, she is wearing rectangular frame glasses, a grey hoodie over a black shirt over a white-collar shirt, a red tie bearing the Chaldea insignia, a black skirt and tights, and brown shoes.

"Mashu?" I said.

Mashu smiles. "Frank, director! Good morning!" She lightly bows. "Da Vinci wants to see you at his workshop."

I blink. "da Vinci? As in Leonardo da Vinci wants to see me?"

Mashu nods. "Just head down the hall and turn right. It is the door at the end of the hall."

"Very well!" I stand up and walk towards the door, "could you keep Marie company while I'm gone? She could use the sight of a familiar face when she wakes up."

Mashu nods and I leave the infirmary.

"Hey, wait! Come back here!" Olga Marie yells as the doors close.

I made my way through the empty halls of the facility until I arrived at a plain-looking door. "This is it." The door opens and I walk inside, the moment I do I am in awe. Da Vinci's workshop was bigger than I expected, the floors and walls are littered with sketches of all sorts of gadgets with half-finished mechanical creations everywhere. Crystals brimming with magical energy are here as well likely for the purpose of powering her inventions as well as an assortment of books that range from theoretical physics to cooking. I look up to see all sorts of flying contraptions hanging by ropes, some of them looking like modern-day aircrafts but with a "steampunk" look to them.

[Wow, what a mess!]

"Oh you're here!" A pile of books and papers suddenly bursts out revealing a beautiful woman buried in. She has brown hair falling down her extremely prominent breasts and a beautiful face that seems to have been molded by a master craftsman which is emphasized by her beautiful cerulean eyes.

Description: A genius beyond compare, he/she provided a lot of influence on the advancement of civilization and who left his name behind in human history. While a male normally, da Vinci viewed Mona Lisa as the ultimate form of beauty stating that as culture has changed, "the desire to become a beautiful girl might one day become the norm", thus manifesting as her view of beauty to reach this desire.

I arch an eyebrow. 'He changed his physical appearance to satisfy his desires?'

"I'm sorry about the mess. I would have cleaned up but I am just so, so busy." She dusts herself as she walks forward before striking a pose. "I am Leonardo da Vinci, the one and only master artist and inventor!" She winks at me.

"...nice to meet you." I offer my hand, my voice lacking any emotion.

da Vinci arches an eyebrow at my lack of a reaction. "You don't seem shocked. Usually people tend to be awestruck by my beautiful form." She shakes my hand.

The gender bent famous inventor moves through her(his?) cluttered workshop, reaching for an empty chair and dusts it off for me to sit. I look through the messy workshop and the first thing that comes to mind is how unkempt it is. No one would understand how someone so neat and well-groomed can make such a mess. Though then again, they do say that chaos is a sign of a creative mind, after all.

"You really are a genius, da Vinci." I said as I take a seat.

"Of course I am! Where do you think Chaldea would be without me?" Da Vinci smugly said.

"So what do you want from me? A medical check up?" I quipped.

Da Vinci moves her hand left and right. "Oh no, I leave that sort of tedious work to Romani. I just have a few questions for you." She searches through the mess and pulls out a notepad and a pen.

I nod. "Okay."

"Well for starters, can you tell me your name?" Da Vinci asked.

"My name is Frank." I said.

da Vinci gives me a questionable look. Is it your True Name? No offense, but that's a very... plain name for someone like you to have."

"It is not, but it is the only name I know." I stated.

"Aren't you curious? You must desire to know you were before." da Vinci said.

"From time to time yes, but I do not let that interfere with my work." I replied before a small smile appears. "My daughters complain that I work too much."

"You have a family?" da Vinci finding the idea a little farfetched.

I blink at what I just said. "I don't... know..."

"Do you think you can explain how you revived the chief? I'm having difficultly figuring out what kind of magecraft you used to pull that off."

"I resurrected her using True Magic, though there were other methods at my disposal that would have caused the same effect." I stated.

If Da Vinci was drinking something, she would have violently spit it out after hearing those words. "What did you say!?"

"I used True Magic to bring her back, though I used an incomplete version. This was done so that Olga doesn't completely lose her ego and wander around as a shapeless flame." I said. "As for the body, I simply used a spare body I kept in a pocket dimension."

"Spare body?" da Vinci asked.

I place my hand on my chest. "This body isn't real, its fake. I don't know how or why but I woke up and found myself in this body." I explained. "That does not mean she is safe though."

"What do you mean?"

"That puppet body is special as they are design and made specifically for me. In other words, it is not meant for normal souls to inhabit." I began. "The body is made up of a complex network of seals meant to cage the Mystery in me, and at times it can become cumbersome. For a normal human soul, these side effects are grievous to the point that without some outlet to ease the burden, Olga will die while she is alive; a living coffin." I explained. "Seeing as you are a master genius, I would like you to create a puppet body for her, one that is more suitable for a normal human. I will gladly compensate with anything you wish."

Da Vinci cannot believe what she is hearing. She is able to create dolls that are beauty incarnate but she has never once thought of creating a doll with such modifications.

It truly boggles the mind!

Who made the doll? Why does the doll have such modifications? What makes Frank so unique that it would need to give him such lethal handicaps? Is Frank a Servant, a Magician or something else altogether? There are so many questions running through her mind at light speed. She is already beginning come up with different series of theories, but each one is trampled over by the next one.

She must learn more!

"I'll see what I can do, but if you can use True Magic, could you use it to revive the other Master candidates?" da Vinci asked.

"While it is possible, I began. "I will not do it."

da Vinci's pen stops and looks at me, completely shocked. "Why?"

"Simple, it would not be logical. We are traversing in dangerous territory with likely chances of survival are 0.002%. Having more people become part of this mission will be too cumbersome and a waste of energy and resources. You may call me cruel or heartless, but ask yourself this: would use your power to save the few or save the many?" I asked her.

da Vinci was disturbed by his words, but she had to admit his words hold merit. While reviving all of the Master candidates will ensure a better chance of success, there are a couple of risk factors to consider. The most prevalent among them is their mental state. Almost all of the Masters died that day, some may not have been aware when the explosion went off but regardless it doesn't change the fact that they were all on the verge of death. There weren't any known therapists in Chaldea and while she and Romani could potentially fill that roll, there would likely be no time to put aside to help them. Overall, it wouldn't be logical to send mentally unstable recruits to mission that demand high emotional and mental resilience.

[We don't need to tell her that you already tried to revive some of the Masters, but for some odd reason nothing happened. After a quick analysis, it appears that their souls are missing leaving their bodies in a death-like state]

"I can agree with your reasoning and it is cruel like you said, however, there is one thing I don't understand," She taps her pen on her forehead. "How did you end up in Singularity F?"

"I..." Garbled images play in my mind, before they suddenly seize. "I cannot say. For some reason, that peace of information alludes me. All I know is that it has something to do with the word 'Grand Order'."

Da Vinci stops writing and her eyes widen in shock. "Did you say Grand Order?"

I raise an eyebrow. "Yeah? Why? You know something?"

Da Vinci cups her chin as she is deep in thought. "This is worse than I realized…"

"?"

"Well look at that, it seems that's all the time we have for today!" She stands up and begins to drag me out of her workshop. "Thanks for stopping by, have a beautiful day, bye!" The door slams shut leaving me completely stunned.

[...the hell just happened?]

"I have absolutely no idea…" I said as I turned around and walked away. "I wonder how Ritsuka's doing, I haven't seen her since we got back." I wandered around until I found what looks to be the cafeteria, a spacious area with a fully functional kitchen with rows and rows of tables for a large group of people to sit on.

"Kya!"

I turn to the voice to see Ritsuka massaging her reddened hand. "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!"

"You okay?" I asked.

Ritsuka jumps and snaps around to look at me. "Frank! What are you doing here!?"

"I was walking down the hall when I heard you screaming." I glance at the fallen bowl on the ground. "What were you doing?"

Ritsuka nervously chuckles. "W-Well, I was hungry and I wanted to eat ramen but when I was getting it some of the hot broth spilled on my hand and…" She glanced at her irritated hand.

"Let me take a look." I gently take her hand and I begin to heal it. Ritsuka's eyes widened as the pain quickly vanished. "That should do it."

Ritsuka stares at her hand and looks at me. "Thank you!" She gives me a cute smile.

I look at the fallen bowl and point to it with my hand. In an instant, the bowl begins to rise from the floor along with its contents and sits on top of the counter where it originally was.

Ritsuka's eyes are as wide as dinner plates because of what she saw. It was like he pressed the Rewind button on the world. "How-?"

"Time magic is a really convenient tool to have when you want to clean up unwanted messes." I comment.

Ritsuka isn't listening, she is in a trance as she stares at the delicious masterpiece in front of her. Her mouth is letting out a waterfall of drool at the sight of the bowl. She takes the ramen and dashes towards one of the nearby tables. "Thanks for the meal~" She proceeds to eat it at breakneck speeds.

[Yikes, she's almost like Artoria when she's hungry]

"So good~" Ritsuka moans as she continues eating.

I walk towards the table and pull up a chair to sit on. "You really like ramen, don't you?"

Ritsuka abruptly stops eating, the noodles dangling in her mouth. "Y-Yeah…" She blushes in embarrassment. "I just haven't had a chance to eat since I got here and after we got back from the Singularity my hunger came back in full swing." Ritsuka goes back to eating and notices me just staring at her. "Is there something wrong?"

"No, not really. Just watching you stuff your face." I bluntly said. "I am curious, why did you decide to join Chaldea exactly?"

Ritsuka blinks at the question. "Wow, I think you're the first person here to ever ask me that question." She admits. "Honestly, I didn't know what happened. I was looking for a part-time job when I ran into this old man who gave a flyer for a job and when I saw how much they were going to pay I immediately applied and got accepted. Next thing I knew, I was shipped to the arctic and given a week-long session about magecraft and Moonlit World." She sighs. "It all happened so suddenly that I didn't get a wink of sleep."

I look at her skeptically. "Are you saying that a super secret organization took in a civilian with no training or combat experience who hadn't even awakened her magic circuits just like that?"

"You know when you say it like that, it makes it sound like it's a bad thing." Ritsuka remarks.

[That's because it is]

"And this old man, do you know who he is?" I asked.

Ritsuka shakes her head. "Nope. He gave me a flyer and next thing I knew, he was gone. He didn't even give me his name."

"I see…" I got a feeling on who that old man is. 'Fucking Zelretch...'

"Say, how is the chief doing?" Ritsuka asks as she drinks the broth.

"A bit shaken up but who wouldn't be after going through that." I replied. "I left her with Mashu while I met with da Vinci."

"oh really? What are he like?" Ritsuka asks, clearing interested.

"Well, to put it in one word: eccentric. Like the definition of the word." I said, leaving out the part that HE is a SHE. "We talked for a bit until I was promptly kicked out of the workshop."

"Kicked out? Why?" Rituska asked.

I shrug. "Who knows."

Ritsuka finishes her meal. "Man, I totally needed that~" She takes her bowl and walks up to the faucet and washes it.

I stand up and make my way towards the exit.

Ritsuka notices me leaving. "Are you going back to see the chief?"

"Yeah, there is something I must do." I said. "I'll see around Ritsuka."

"Wait!"

I turn my neck to look at her.

"Can you... call me Gudako from now on?" Ritsuka asked.

"Gudako?"

"It's my nickname from my childhood, a lot of my friends call me that back home." Ritsuka gives me a sunny smile. "Since we're friends now, you should call me that, too."

"Okay." I said.

Ritsuka giggles. "Great, see ya later."

The door slides open and I walk out of the cafeteria. So far, the people of Chaldea seem to be pretty cool though they are very quirky.

Olga Marie is a tsundere with self esteem issues.

da Vinci is an eccentric genius.

Romani is the overprotective big brother.

Ritsuka's a bit of an airhead.

And Mashu is really nice.

Overall, my stay in Chaldea will be very interesting.

The True Name of a Servant is something vital to battle, as it can reveal much about them. They most often have their Masters refer to them solely by their class name unless they do not care like Assassin of Black, wish to have a closer connection to their Master like Caster after she reveals her identity, or are under circumstances where it no longer matters like those trapped in the Sakura Labyrinth. There are Servants and Masters with extreme confidence or no filter in revealing their True Names for all to hear, such as Rider exclaiming his name without regard and Illyasviel von Einzbern having supreme confidence in Berserker even with his name revealed.

Their names can reveal certain traits about their abilities, allowing for specific countermeasures, and there are many famous heroes that have met untimely deaths in life. Those killed by poison will be more susceptible to it, those shot down by arrows will be weak against them, those with weak spots will be severely disadvantaged if they are targeted, and those with traits like being weak to monster-slayers or dragon-slaying weapons can be specifically damaged in accordance. Even without such a specific countermeasure being available to one Master, releasing that information to the other Masters can allow for other countermeasures to be brought forth. Most Masters should know instantly of their own Servants' identities, but something like Secret of Pedigree can block even that, and the refusal of a Servant to disclose it can keep them from knowing. In the case of a weak Master susceptible to mind control, they may forgo telling them altogether until necessary.

Famous heroes like King Arthur and Siegfried are very likely to have their identities found out more easily than others, with simply glancing upon Excalibur being enough for any Heroic Spirit to identify King Arthur. Others need to utilize their Noble Phantasms before they reveal themselves, but it may require deductive reasoning even then. While the oldest legendary hero Gilgamesh can show off his Noble Phantasms without many being able to guess, and despite his belief that it should be obvious to others, he generally discloses it himself. Someone like Archer, being a Counter Guardian from the future and displaying numerous Noble Phantasms with Unlimited Blade Works, is a complete anomaly to others, greatly confusing all who fight him with his contradictory traits that do not match any known hero. There are also those without specific weaknesses whose True Names will bring no trouble if revealed, like Astolfo.

Those summoned as Servants are given the minimum information required to allow them to fit into any era. No matter how ancient the Heroic Spirit, they should understand several concepts that were not known in their time. The knowledge is not all-encompassing, so concepts may still have to be explained to them. King Iskandar was shocked at the true scope of the world compared to the area he had conquered in life and needs to have certain areas shown to him on a map. He enjoys spending his time learning about different aspects of the world such as wars since his time, and details like the price of a stealth bomber are not immediately known to him. Artoria did not understand the idea of dating until it is specifically explained. They are granted knowledge on the Holy Grail ritual itself, but only as much as the outside Masters are told. They do not know of its true purpose in being a method requiring all seven to be sacrificed to reach the Root, only believing it to be a war for a single wish.

They are not granted knowledge on other Heroes through the Grail, but rather from knowledge gained within the Throne of Heroes. Witnessing traits of other Servants can allow them to deduce their True Names with the knowledge even if they are from incompatible eras. Aberrations like Saber, who is not part of the Throne of Heroes due to her circumstances, are able to identify those whose legends would have been known to them in life, such as Cú Chulainn, but cannot identify the legends of later Heroic Spirits like Gilles de Rais even after being directly named.
