Opening File: Thor

Thor is the Nordic god of thunder and the older brother of Loki and is prominently mentioned god throughout the recorded history of Germanic and Scandinavian peoples. He was the son of the Allfather Odin, King of the Gods. In Nordic mythology, Thor was the companion of his own realm of Asgard and protector to the realm of Midgard (Earth) and came to the aid of the humans whenever he was needed. When the Gems invaded Earth Thor led the Asgardians against the Diamonds, said to have fought against Yellow Diamond herself and caused a storm so vast it bisected the land that would became India.

When the Grimm attacked Asgard, Thor had to choose between Earth and Asgard but chose to return and defend his home at the urging of Rose Quartz. Thor fought bravely but his brother Loki had been corrupted by the Pit of Hate and lured Thor into a trap that ended with the God of Thunder slain in battle. However Thor managed to weaken Loki enough for him to be sealed away by Odin who grieved his son's passing and decided to imprint Thor's essence on Mjolnir, ensuring that if the enchanted hammer ever found someone worthy to wield it Thor would be revived.

The day finally came when a blond haired macho man with questionable mental stability picked up the hammer during an attack by killer robots.

"For everything there is a first time, including when you come to an age of succession. It is meant to be a great time, a time of honor, of passing the torch." TOM said as the file closed. "It's something to be treasure and shows just how far you have come in life. It is something you hope to remember and treasure for the rest of your life. And before we continue, here's a little special trailer."

TOM tapped a switch on his chair and sat back as a new window popped up on the screen, showing the new trailer.

"All of you wealthy tycoons, enjoying the life of luxury that comes from your dear money."

A golden hand flashes in the dark.

"The world could be set on fire and many of you would still hope to possess even a tenth of your precious wealth."

Someone screaming as a hot golden mask is pressed onto their face.

"They say money is what makes the world go round."

A golden castle rises out of the sea.

"I want to see what the world would be like if everyone were to suddenly lose it all."

A bright light shoots out of the highest tower and into the sky, creating a shockwave that spreads out across the entire world. Everywhere, anything made of gold rises into the air as if gravity no longer affected them.

"How would any of you live without any money whatsoever?"

"DANI!" A pair of girls screams out as a golden statue falls into the ocean.

"It's a curious idea and one worth exploring."

A man wearing a golden mask holds up a hand that was made of pure gold and it glowed a blinding light as he grinned.

"I am sure it will be sight to remember."

He places a golden crown on his head and there is a blast of light.

GRIMMFALL: THE GOLDEN CASTLE

"So…Are we just jumping into this or what?"

It almost seemed impossible that out of all mortals that were possibly worthy it had to be this one.

Still, Thor Odinson was not blind to the potential his possible successor held within him and the Prince of Asgard would not allow it to be held the moment that Johnny Bravo had touched Mjolnir the essence of Thor slowly bonded with its new host and it saw deep into Johnny's soul.

A man who had unknowingly sold his soul for a chance to be a strong man, worthy of the love of his life.

The young man worked to build up his physical appearance, even drinking Muscle Power drinks that had an unfortunate effect on his mind. It had caused a decrease in mental capacity even as young Bravo became the strong man he is today and when he had gone to meet the young lady she was gone, causing a series of emotional and mental scars that made him into the man he had become.

A man who thought appearance alone could win a maiden's heart.

However deep in the man's soul there was potential, otherwise he could have not been able to life Mjolnir.

'If he is to be my successor I must prepare him.' Thor concluded and went to work.

He called on the magical enchantment of Mjolnir and the magic that had given the Bravo mortal his powers. Slowly but surely the magic began undoing the damage caused by muscle enhancers which will allow the Bravo boy to regain the intelligence he had lost which was a start.

Healing his emotional wounds would be the next step, but for now the God of Thunder decided to simply heal the damage done to the man's brain.

He would need all the help he could get for what was to come.

"He picked up what?!"

Valhallen, the Viking God of Rock could not believe what he was hearing. After thousands of years of never finding anyone worthy enough to pick up the hammer of his sadly departed brother he never though anyone worthy would be found.

And he wasn't even there to see it!

He was currently in Japan, Tokyo to be exact, tracking down the third member of the team being sent to rescue the Elementals on the Gem Homeworld.

"I could hardly believe it myself when I saw it but its true, Valhallen. Mjolnir, the hammer of your brother has finally chosen its new wielder." Major Glory said over Valhallen's personal tablet. "He's currently resting along with the others following the attack on our HQ. I'll hold down the fort until you return."

Valhallen sighed but nodded. "All right but keep an eye on him, Major. Odds are that my brother's hammer will be working on imprinting his essence onto him. If and when Thor returns it'll mean…"

The restarting of Ragnarok.

"Will do, chum. Continue your mission." Major Glory said and ended the call.

Valhallen put his tablet away and shook his head. "Come on, Krunk."

There was already someone waiting for them when they arrived. He was in his early twenties, having silver white hair that reached over his shoulders, a black band around his head and light blue eyes. His clothing consisted of a blue-grey vest with white symbols on it over a white shirt pants. Over the vest the man had a black patch connected by chains that went around his shoulders on the right side to keep it in place.

He had sleeves over the sleeves of his shirt that were similar to the design of his vest. He wore fur leggings that had chains to keep them in place and armored boots while on his hands he wore black gloves with metal cestus' over them and sheathed around his waist was an odachi.

"Valhallen, the Viking God of Rock and the Infraggable Krunk of the Justice Friends." The man said in perfect English, offering a bow which Valhallen returned. "I am Nier. Sebben informed of your mission."

"Yes. To rescue the Elementals." Valhallen said, straightening up.

"Hmm…When Sebben said the new mission would take me to outer space I almost thought he was joking. Unfortunately, while Phil Ken Sebben has a sense of humor he would not make such a joke."

"Yeah." Valhallen nodded. "Sebben believed your knowledge of the Grimoire would be a great help."

"I am sure I would be." Nier nodded. "Still, I am somewhat…reluctant to go given my family."

"Nier?" The voice of a young woman spoke from inside and the three watched as a young but beautiful looking woman emerged.

She had silvery white hair like Nier with purple colored eyes and was carrying an infant in her arms. She wore blue jeans, a blue-grey shirt and black high heeled shoes. The right side of her hair was tied in a ring while the left side remained straight and she had a rare flower in her hair called a Lunar Tear. Nearly a year ago she would have carried two serrated swords with her but due to the baby bump she was sporting she had put her weapons away to focus on raising hers and Nier's future child.

"Pretty lady." Krunk said with a friendly smile.

"That she is." Nier smiled, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. "This is Kaine, my spouse."

"Let me guess, there is an important mission." Kaine said knowingly, looking at Valhallen and Krunk.

"It is, ma'am." Valhallen bowed his head. "But we will not force your husband to join us and if he does I promise as the Viking God of Rock and Prince of Asgard to bring him back home to you."

Kaine smiled. "It's all right, Valhallen-san. We both were expecting this when Sebben contacted us. We already know the mission details."

Valhallen straightened himself. "Then allow me to explain it myself. It is simple search and rescue mission. Krunk and I are meant to be the heavy hitters and dealing with any trouble while your husband does the sneaking along with the other member of the team. I believe you know him, Jesse McCree."

Nier nodded. "We worked together during the Troll mission."

"That's part of why we're asking you to help us. You and McCree work well together, you're both good at stealth and his Echo Semblance can a big help when figuring out where to go inside enemy territory. I've fought Gems before, I know how they think and they will react. Krunk and I will be the diversion while you and McCree will be the extraction." Valhallen laid out the basics of the plan.

"And how will we reach this Gem Homeworld?" Nier asked.

"Through the Bifrost." Valhallen held out his Mighty Axe. "It'll allow us to reach the Gem Homeworld instantly, like taking a few steps and walking through a door. That's how we get in and it's how we get out."

Nier shared a look with his spouse before looking back at the Justice Friends. "Can we have a minute?"

Valhallen nodded. "Of course."

The Asgardian and Krunk walked away, giving the couple their needed space.

"So, space huh?" Nier looked at his wife who looked at him with a blank face. "Right, sorry."

"It's times like this I wish I could still go on missions with you." Kaine looked at their sleeping daughter in their arms. "But I know this one needs at least one of us."

"I can still say no." Nier pointed out, placing a hand under Kaine's chin and bringing her eyes back up to him. "I would quit being a Hunter for the both of you without a second thought."

"But it wouldn't be you." Kaine smiled as she grasped Nier's hand. "Turning your back on people in need, it's not who you are."

"Is it?" Nier softly stroked his wife's stomach. "I am your husband, her father before I am Hunter."

"But you are a good man before any of those." Kaine replied, pulling him closer. "People need you to help them make the world a little brighter for those who will grow in it, like our daughter."

Nier hugged her. "It would be black as the void without you and our child in it."

"But we are here and we will be waiting for you when you come back." Kaine kissed Nier on the cheek. "Save those in need, be the man I married and the father our daughter can be proud of."

Nier kissed his spouse on the lips. "For you, anything."

Kaine smiled as she stepped back. "I will be waiting."

Nier shared her smile as he turned and approached the two Justice Friends. "We have talked…Where do we start?"

"Just need to find McCree."

Nier rolled his eyes. "I know where to find him."

"Hello there."

He watched as a misshapen man appeared before him, the both of them standing on a slime colored circular platform in the middle of space. "Wow! I am in space!"

"Not exactly, Ed." The man shook his head but kept his smile. "My name-"

"Oh hello!" Ed cut him off happily. "My name is Ed!"

"I know… And my name is Quasimodo and I am-"

"Oh-oh, I know!" Ed waved his hand excitedly. "You are my past life who has come to tell me about my Slime powers!"

Quasimodo just stared at Ed in astonishment. "Uh…You are right. But how did you…"

"I read books." Ed answered simply, even though comic books were not exactly actual books. "And I've watched enough movies to know I am having an out of body experience and am talking to one of my past lives."

Quasimodo stared in stunned silence again, not expecting Ed to be so…bright and chipper about it. "Right, so I guess I should start explaining things now. I am Quasimodo and I was the Slime Elemental back before the burning of Paris."

The setting changed, showing Ed the interior of Notre Dame as the doors opened. In walked a stern looking elderly man, dressed a priest and carrying bundle up stairs.

"On the night I was born, my mother was killed by a priest who would killed me as well. It was only through divine intervention I was saved and the man, Judge Claude Frollo was forced to raise me as penance. He agreed if only to save his soul."

Ed was then shown Quasimodo's life as he grew up, locked away at the top of Notre Dame.

"For all of my life he forced me to remain in the tower, even as I wanted so badly to see the world. Then one day, I snuck out and took part in a carnival."

Ed gasped as Quasimodo was bound and peppered with fruit, humiliated before all of Paris with Frollo looking onward with satisfaction.

"My master was no help. I disobeyed him and he decided my humiliation would serve as a lesson. Only something happened."

Ed watched as a brave woman stepped forward, freeing Quasimodo and humiliating Frollo in the process. "Esmeralda."

"Yes, that was her name. The first woman, the first person to ever show me kindness. She showed me that the world was not as bleak as Frollo had me believe, even as he tried to turn me against her and when he tried to burn her."

Ed was greeted with the sigh of Quasimodo releasing his Slime powers to save Esmeralda, only for the fires to spread across Paris.

"Frollo had gone mad. His mad quest for destroying everything that was an abomination in his eyes had taken over, robbing any sanity he might have had. The flames brought fear and the frea brought the Grimm."

The Grimm began swarming Paris, overwhelming the knights as they tried to defend the city.

"I awakened my powers as the Elemental of Slime and did my best to stop the fire and the Grimm."

Quasimodo stood bravely as he conjured walls of slime, blocking the Grimm from attacking many people but it was not enough to stop their attack.

"I urged everyone to flee while I stayed behind…"

Ed watched as Quasimodo was engulfed in fire, letting out one final scream as slime covered all of Paris, dousing the flames and hardening around the buildings and Notre Dame. Even the Grimm were imprisoned in the slime, unable to move at all.

"I turned Paris to slime, covering it all while its people fled underground or away from the city. To this day, it remains there the same as it was as the burning. The Grimm surrounded the city but there was nothing left to attack so they guard it. My friends on the other hand, they fled underground into the Court of Miracles, that's all I know."

The images faded away, changing back to the Slime platform floating in space.

"That is so sad." Ed said with sympathy.

Quasimodo nodded. "It is and it's why I am here now. To help you realize your powers and make sure what happened to Paris never happens again. Are you ready?"

Ed nodded dumbly. "I am."

"Remember when you fought Fenrir?"

Ed nodded, scowling slightly at the mention of the monster who nearly killed his sister. "I do."

"Well, during that confrontation you awakened your dormant Element: Slime. Now, Slime may not be much but it serves as an important part in the building blocks of life, representing proteins and lipids but it goes deeper than this." Quasimodo takes a deep breath. "The Elementals also originally represented four types of personality Candy being Sanguine which is social and energetic, Ice being Melancholic which means quiet and analytical, Fire being Choleric aggressive and irritable and Slime being Phlegmatic which is relaxed and peaceful. Of course, over the centuries when an Elemental reincarnates it tries to balance itself out with its host's own likely personality. You know of the Ice Elementa named Nigel."

"Yep." Ed nodded.

"Well, his family wield a power called the Flame which is seen as a dark representation of the Fire Elemental's power, utilizing anger and negative emotions. Nigel's own father overcame these traits at a young age while Nigel's own status as the Ice Elemental balanced out the negative traits that his heritage would have likely manifested."

"Oh…It gave him a cool head." Ed said, summing it all up in a few simple words with his smile still present.

"Exactly." Quasimodo nodded. "The negativity that would have come from the flame was cancelled out by the Melancholic nature that comes with being the Ice Elemental as shown through his Frost Fire Semblance. Instead of anger and hate festering through his blood to produce fire the emotions are more positive and it's not just Nigel. The same can be said for Abigail, the new Candy Elemental. Despite her difficult past, Abby has been able to smile and make friends even after everything that has happened to her and do you know why?"

"Candy makes everyone happy." Ed stated.

"Yes, the basically it. The Candy Elemental's nature of being social and energetic has kept her from falling to the pain too deep despite the troubles of her past. The power of the Elementals chooses their next hosts carefully, accounting for how each might handle them. The Ice powers chose Nigel to balance out the Flame of his bloodline and the Candy powers chose Abby to ensure she would not be engulfed in darkness." Quasimodo nodded. "Now, since Fire is not with us yet we will move onto your Element: Slime which represents Phlegmatic. You are always happy, relaxed and peaceful to everyone, even when they are not the same back to you."

"Well yeah, Ed is a nice guy." Ed pointed both thumbs at himself.

"Exactly but to be honest I think you would be the same even if you were not the new Slime Elemental." Quasimodo chuckled while Ed laughed. "Anyways, the hosts of Slime are always the calm and relaxed ones, always stepping back to find the bright side in anything bad."

"Cool." Ed held out his hand and a statue of himself made of slime appeared next to him. "So awesome!"

"That's not all slime can do, Ed. It can do so much more." Quasimodo said, manipulating the slime around the platform to form various shapes. "Slime is preserving life and protecting it anywhere in the world. With the right training it can become even indestructible but you must be careful for not only can Slime preserve it can also destroy."

The slime statues were then suddenly merged into one giant blob.

"Slime is capable of absorbing all within its reach; deconstructing the matter of what it absorbs and breaking it back down into its basic ingredients. Even if it is not meant to sound dangerous it is capable as much harm as Ice which freezes all it touches and Fire that burns all it consumes." Quasimodo continued, causing the blob to be absorbed back into the platform.

"That's…scary." Ed admitted.

"I know it is." Quasimodo nodded. "You almost did something similar to Fenrir when you fought him. You imprisoned his soul self within slime, imprisoning him and nearly broke his body apart. He survived but his defeat wounded him so badly it forced him to release the souls he had devoured to save himself. You best be on the lookout for him in the future, Ed."

"I will." Ed nodded, vowing to never let that monster come near his sister nor his friends ever again.

"But for now, you have another problem. The Gems." Quasimodo changed the subject. "They are another enemy of the Elementals and they will want to use your power."

"Slime Pearl seems nice." Ed smiled at the Gem who had been given to him. "She's so nice."

"She's a servant Gem, Ed. She's meant to be nice to you." Quasimodo pointed out.

Ed shook his head. "I don't want a servant but she can be my friend."

Quasimodo smiled at that. "And that's what you will need to do."

"What?"

"Be yourself, Ed. Show Slime Pearl she can be more than what she was made for and maybe you can convince the other Elementals to do the same." Quasimodo explained. "This is the kind of adventure you have wanted, like on that robot movie."

"You mean…" Ed trembled in excitement. "Robot Rebel Ranch?!"

Robot Rebel Ranch is an R-rated sci-fi movie that was showing in Peach Creek where a group of three Space Outlaws lost control of their spaceship while flying through space, and got hurled into an asteroid field where they are almost obliterated. They are then sucked into a dimensional time portal that transports them to an unknown robot planet. They later become marooned on the planet after they find that their ship was destroyed from the crash landing. They now must fight off the hostile robot inhabitants of the planet while trying to escape back to Earth.

"Yeah, like that." Quasimodo chuckled. "Only with Gems, instead of robots."

"First…We must find shelter!" Ed declared, thrusting his hand into the air and pointing upwards. "Then we learn about the hostile world we are in and must find a way to contact Earth before the cold gem planet knights squeeze the life out of us!"

"Uh, Ed?" Quasimodo tried to cut in.

"And us brave explorers must brave these dangerous world, trying to find a way back to Earth." Ed was giddy now. "Will they ever get off the gem planet? Will they ever get home? Will they…"

"Ed, you might want to save this stuff for when you wake up." Quasimodo suggested.

"…Oh yeah." Ed chuckled. "Sorry."

"Well, nice to know you'll be looking on the bright side when you cake up, Ed. Now be prepared." Quasimodo said with a tired smile.

"For what?"

"For the journey."

"Ooooooooooh!" Ed was giddy again. "I WILL BE PREPARED!"
