Chapter 18: The Tutor, Excellent Performance

When they finally reached the resort Sunny Sands, it was well after ten o'clock and Selina was very tired, since she had to walk quite a distance from the station to the resort, after spending her day sitting in the train or fending off Sebastian's advances. However, the beauty of the resort's location was a worthwhile reward. It was a simple yet elegant building of four stores with big balconies and arches at every room; it was not far from the sea, actually it was so close to the beach that the lulling sound of waves reached the rooms helping the guests relax and sleep deeply.

Entering the building, Selina was left speechless because it was exactly like the wealthy resorts she had seen in Hercule Poirot's films, with big, sunny spaces and light, warm colours welcoming everyone. It was obvious it was a place more for the nobility than for anyone else, and that made Selina wonder what kind of newly-weds – not belonging to aristocracy – would have the money to spend even a night in this place.

At the reception, Sebastian took over the process of confirming the reservation of the honeymoon suite for Mr. and Mrs. Michaelis under the Phantomhive name. In the meantime, Selina was observing everything she could; after a while she came to a somehow strange conclusion and approached Sebastian, who was waiting for some final paperwork to be prepared, and absentmindedly hugged him around his waist to get as close as she could.

"This is not a resort for everyone as the Queen might think. Booking the honeymoon suite for a week, let's say, would be quite expensive for young married couples of the middle class. Plus, this looks like more of an elderly care house; not really suitable for young people." She whispered to the demon.

Sebastian lovingly wrapped his arms around her and leaned his chin on top of her head while scanning with his eyes the big sitting area further from the reception. "Yes… and it seems there is a preference to old ladies, really old ladies." Selina nodded on his chest.

"Oh my, how beautiful!" An elderly, cheerful voice was heard making butler and tutor turn around. An old lady leaning on her walking stick was approaching the reception. "Two gorgeous young people in love, melting in each other's arms… how lovely! What are your names? Sebastian and Selina… Oh how cute, they fit perfectly together." She almost squealed once the couple introduced themselves; her blurry, faded eyes and smile were so honest and brightened the wrinkled face. She approached them some more. "You remind me of myself and my dear husband so many years ago, when we too had come here for honeymoon in such a beautiful, peaceful place…" She suddenly seemed lost in her memories.

Selina and Sebastian exchanged glances and Sebastian nodded slightly. Selina took the look of a scared young deer and squeezed herself closer to the man. "Yes, the place is beautiful and peaceful, but I have heard that newly-weds from this resort have gone missing quite often." Her voice was trembling with fear.

"Oh please, do not be so naive, my love." Sebastian said running his hand up and down her back soothingly. "I am sure they are clearly terrible accidents caused by wild animals of the area; furthermore, police is always on guard."

They both saw a shadow of worry and fear clouding the old woman's face and she seemed ready to say something, but then a middle-aged man appeared beside her cutting her off. The old woman looked somehow scared of the man all of a sudden.

"Indeed sir, you are right. That exactly is the case and you, my lady, have nothing to fear, our resort is perfectly safe. Right, Mrs. Ackerman?" The man said and gave a light, friendly pat on the woman's shoulder; she nodded and smiled although a little forced. "I am Herman Bates and I welcome you to our resort, Mr. and Mrs. Michaelis. I wish you have a great week and do not hesitate to ask us for anything you wish at any time. Tom here will lead you to your suite." Mr. Bates said handing Sebastian all the filled-out paperwork and then pointing to a young bellboy, who smiling brightly took their luggage and led them on.

The honeymoon suite was on the last floor at the end of the corridor with only one door next to it. The building was very well preserved and painted with pastel warm colours although it was obviously quite old.

"Oh, there is a room next to ours. We should not be too loud at nights, love, or else we will be disturbing whoever stays here." Sebastian said teasingly and meaningfully to Selina, who responded with a deep blush and a light swat on his arm, causing him to laugh satisfied.

Tom was unlocking the door while his eyes travelled on Selina's figure and then looked at Sebastian with a smile, like buddies sharing a dirty joke. "You do not have to worry. This room is Mr. Bates' office; if he falls asleep while working late at night, he cannot wake up even if a cannon ball hits the building, he does only if someone shakes him and yells in his ears. He is a very heavy sleeper, no noise can wake him up. Now, the maid named Mary and myself are assigned to your suite, so please do not hesitate to ask us for anything you desire. Enjoy your stay, Mr. and Mrs. Michaelis." Tom said, bowed handing Sebastian the key and left.

"Wow!" along with a light whistle were the first things that came out of Selina's mouth as soon as Sebastian closed the door behind them.

The honeymoon suite was really quite luxurious. It was very spacious even though it had everything anyone could need. A great table where five people could easily dine, a big wardrobe and a long mirror for the lady to check herself in the entirety before heading out. In one corner there was a folding screen and a vanity table with all the necessities a Victorian lady needs to prepare herself. Two basins with a dozen of soft white clothes to wash themselves every morning and a nice balcony door leading to the great balcony. A small floral mural decorated the wall where a clock was hanging opposite the bed.

However, the most majestic was the four posted bed with a canopy and curtains tied to the posts; sheets and curtains – mostly for keeping away mosquitoes and annoying bugs in the summer – in a combination of peachy and coral colours that was very beautiful and inviting. Sebastian saw a light rosy colour painting Selina's cheeks as her eyes were fixed on the bed for a few seconds, but then shook her head furrowing her brows and turned her back away, not seeing a red hunger that momentarily flashed in the demon's eyes.

After she had marvelled at the beautiful room for a while, Selina turned to Sebastian all composed and business-like. "Okay, Mrs. Ackerman definitely knows something about the case, and I think we will be able to approach her since she took such a liking to us."

"Indeed, also Bates knows something, if not everything, but he seems like he wants to prevent the woman from talking about the disappearances; therefore, it will not be easy to talk to her if he hovers around her like a hawk." The butler said thoughtfully.

"Yes, but he is the owner and manager of the resort, so he must be quite busy during the day. I say that tomorrow we spend it here, looking around the resort and we might find an opportunity to talk to Mrs. Ackerman."

"A wise course of action. Now, we should get ready for bed. You must be very tired after this long trip and I need you in perfect shape tomorrow, because we must try to speak to other guests too besides Mrs. Ackerman." Sebastian said all serious clapping his hands as he used to do when giving orders.

"Ookay… and what will you do all night?" Selina asked with a small smile twitching the corners of her lips.

Sebastian had already placed his suitcase on the destined stool, opened it and now was pulling out clean clothes for the next day and the pyjamas Selina had gifted him only a few months ago.

"What do you mean? The bed is big enough for both of us… I will join you, of course. Do not worry I will not disturb your sleep in the slightest."

A muffled laugh was Selina's response, her eyes twinkling teasingly. "You will pretend to be sleeping? Oh, poor demon, the things you do for a decent meal."

Sebastian's brow twitched quite annoyed by her making fun of him. "It is not the first time I have done something like that, and… since you know about lady Beast then you know everything about the circus case." Now it was his eyes' turn to shine mischievously, watching Selina lightly pursing her lips annoyed at hearing about 'lady' Beast, as she was pulling a nightgown out of her suitcase.

"Yes, and I guess how 'comfortable' and… 'friendly' was your short cohabitation with Mr. Spears."

"Exactly, but thankfully you are not obnoxious like him; therefore, I do not mind sharing a bed with you, if our mission requires it. A newly married couple sleeps together, and we must convince as one, unless… you prefer to do it some other way."

When Selina looked at him, Sebastian had removed his gloves, jacket and vest and was slowly loosening his tie while looking at her with a look full of innuendos.

"No, no, no thanks. It is perfectly logical for us to just sleep now, since we are so tired from our trip." She said blushing furiously and ran behind the screen to change.

Sebastian smirked devilishly and satisfied. Selina was the second human he really enjoyed teasing and embarrassing all the time – the first being his young master – since her reactions were almost equally childish as his master's. He continued removing his clothes as his gaze was constantly gliding towards the dressing screen.

The space behind it could be lightened by a small table lamp, which Selina chose not to turn on, because the light falling on the screen would reveal everything to whoever was standing at the other side. However, Sebastian's eyes did not need any light, since he could easily see the detailed female figure getting out of the confining Victorian clothes. He was quite surprised when he caught himself licking his lips as her round breasts were released from the quite tight corset with a sigh from her. His heart was beating quite fast as he kept watching her removing everything else, wearing only her smooth skin right before pulling the long, quite baggy nightgown over her head.

When Selina came out of the screen Sebastian was fully dressed, his clothes neatly folded as always, resting on a chair, and he was standing at the foot of the bed. Selina lifted her eyes from where she was tying the ribbon that would keep the nightgown closed and looked at him questioningly.

"Which side do you prefer?" He asked her quite casually and Selina shrugged not minding at all.

In a few seconds they had settled under the covers, Selina on the left side trying to find the best position for falling asleep and Sebastian on the right. At some point she saw, with the corner of her eye, Sebastian lying beside her with a body straight as a plank and his hands on his sides.

"Seriously? You're doing it again?" She asked while trying not to laugh.

"I beg your pardon?" Sebastian said looking at her confused.

"Will you pretend to be sleeping while lying like this? This position you have is perfect for a coffin… not for sleeping on a bed as a normal human."

Sebastian sighed. "And what position am I supposed to have?"

"There isn't any specific one, basically you need to be relaxed, which you are not, and then find one that feels more comfortable." For a few seconds she demonstrated some usual positions and when she turned on her side facing Sebastian, she hugged her pillow and exclaimed that she found her perfect one. She pulled the covers up to her ear and closed her eyes, saying goodnight to the demon beside her.

Sebastian responded accordingly and soon heard her rhythmic breathing indicating she had indeed fallen into deep sleep. Sebastian was accustomed into being in the same room with a sleeping human, since his master had asked him many times – mostly at the beginning of their contract – to stay in the room until he could fall back to sleep. Only this time, he himself was lying on the bed and the human beside him was a special, beautiful female, not bound to him in any way or afraid of his nature even though he had harassed her many times, making her, even for a while, cautious and nervous when he was around; although he was of the impression that was solely due to his actions, not his nature. However, when it was about work, she did not leave anything get in her way; she really was a professional in her own way and field.

These thoughts kept occupied Sebastian's mind for quite a while, until he sensed movement outside their room. Without moving a muscle, he focused on that and soon realized it was a human trying to listen through the door. After a few moments the human moved and entered the room next to theirs, Mr. Bates' office. Sebastian glanced at the clock on the wall opposite the bed and saw it was a little after midnight; it seemed that Mr. Bates was a really late worker… But when Sebastian heard the man moving close to the wall the two rooms shared, heard a heavy breathing and sensed a pair of eyes glaring at them through the wall, from somewhere close to the clock, it was made clear to him that Bates had a special interest for his newly-wed guests, an interest that obviously went beyond that of a perfect host.

Sebastian turned on his side and moved his right hand gently over Selina's hair and back leaving it rest on her waist; Selina, still asleep, moved slightly towards him sighing a little, the same moment that a gasp heavy with frustration was heard from the other side of the wall and after a while the man moved back angrier. Sebastian smirked satisfied that the case was almost being solved on its own and he could use the situation for putting his own plans in action before the end. He glanced at Selina sleeping soundly and felt he could not wait for too long as he moved his hand, his fingers lightly caressing her waist… Anyway, he soon pulled away his hand since he knew it was not the right time yet and settled with spending the rest of the night on guard while... enjoying the view of Selina having a serene look on her face.

When Selina woke up, the sun was up for some time now, entering the room through the tall balcony door brightening and warming everything up. She stretched her limbs like a cat waking up from a deep sleep and when she sat up, rubbed her sleepy eyes and opened them, saw Sebastian standing still, facing the wall opposite the bed. He was half dressed and seemed very deep in thought. Selina chose not to bother him and so got up, washed the sleep away and went behind the dressing screen to get ready, which took a while since she had to put the very much hated corset on.

When she finally came out from behind the screen, Sebastian was still on the same place frozen. Selina took her hairbrush and started working on her tangled curls while approaching the butler; she walked a circle around him without getting any reaction from him.

She finally sighed. "Sebastian!" She cried almost in his ear. He calmly turned and looked at her, his eyes stating he had noticed her from the start. "You could at least give me a sign, you know… Anyway, what is there on the wall that has you staring at it so transfixed?" She asked and went back on brushing.

Sebastian took a deep breath. "Well, actually… last night, while you were happily sleeping and resting, someone was watching us clearly expecting some… action on our part." He said and finally resumed on slowly buttoning his shirt.

Selina did not have the time to respond, other than stare at Sebastian with wide opened eyes, when they heard the next door opening and closing and someone walking inside the room heading straight for the wall they faced. Sebastian turned his eyes fully on her, signalling for her to do the same and came close; their bodies almost touching. He leaned closer and whispered.

"It seems Mr. Bates is interested in the intimate activities of young couples and has managed to drill two small holes on the wall next to the clock, right where the mural makes the circles."

"Mr. Bates? So, it is as we suspected it. Someone from inside the resort is the culprit, stalking the couples… although I never expected it would be the owner himself." She whispered back. "But on what criteria does he choose which couples to 'disappear'? I don't think he would go that far just because they might had found out he was watching them. It is too much."

"We will soon find out, but for now… let us give him something to watch." Sebastian said, tilted his head to the side, leaned closer and lightly touched Selina's lips with his; his fingers still busy with his buttons.

Selina was taken by surprise but, thankfully, her mind worked faster than her instinct and did not jump back, furious by the demon's lewd games. On the contrary, she responded and when Sebastian licked her lips asking for entrance, she willingly opened her mouth and let her tongue get engaged with his in a sensual battle, passionate enough to pass for the real thing. After a while she gently pushed him away, with her hands on his chest, to get some oxygen.

"Please, Sebastian. We need to go for breakfast." She managed to say trying to sound as natural as a bashful young Victorian wife would.

"Yes, in a while. Just a little more." Sebastian's heavy voice said, before the man circled her body with his arms in a burning embrace and started a longer and deeper kiss. A kiss to which Selina found she could not resist and quickly gave in, leaving her brush slip from her hands and clatter on the floor, while she impatiently hugged Sebastian and forgot, once again, that this was supposed to be an act.

After a while someone approached the office and called Mr. Bates to go down at the reception where he was needed, the man left the office right away. Sebastian heard all that… but did not stop exploring the hot, sweet mouth he was kissing. He pulled back after a few minutes releasing her lips slowly, tasting them till the last moment and pushed her gently away, untangling her hands from the back of his head; it seemed like he regretted it but they had to stop now.

"It is getting late for breakfast, which you absolutely need, and after that we have to investigate the premises. I do not think he would be too daring to store the bodies in the resort, even if it had a basement, a cellar and such. And he is not watching us any more, he was summoned downstairs." His voice lightly wavering, but slowly turning back to his usual cool one, his breath still heavy and hot.

"Yes, you are right. I'm sorry… I'm almost ready." Selina said taking some deep breaths in an effort to compose herself, steady her crazily beating heart and fight the burning blush spreading on her face and body. Without glancing at him she picked up her brush and ran to the vanity table to do the finishing touches on her outfit for the day. "I… I can put a magical seal to the holes so that he will not be able to see what we really do and hear what we say, I can create an illusionary image of us." She said when she had significantly calmed down.

"No, not yet. Let him pry into our… privacy for a little while. I think he will give us a very good lead and clues to use." Sebastian said, also ready for the day and the only answer he got from Selina was a hesitant nod.

The rest of their day was spent walking around the resort and its premises, getting to know most of the other guests. As expected, they found nothing incriminating, but that did not bother them, since Bates did not have the look of a stupid man to allow his suspicious activities litter his business in such a way; actually Selina could swear Sebastian was satisfied by that, since he found a challenge in the man he pretty much despised in every other aspect. What actually really bothered them was that Bates was too clever and cautious to leave Mrs. Ackerman out of his sight for long, therefore Sebastian and Selina did not manage to ask any questions to the extremely cheerful old woman.

The result of that day was learning that although Sunny Sands is a summer resort it had some permanent guests - Mrs. Ackerman being one of them - who were very old to be able to live in London or anywhere else where the smog was too thick for their already tired lungs or their frail body could not take many trips. For some reason, all these permanent guests were pretty ecstatic on seeing a young couple since all of them were reminded of their own husbands that loved but lost many years ago; the nostalgic light in their blurry eyes brightened up their faces in a very sweet way, a way that showed these women would very much prefer to be somewhere else, somewhere closer to their lost loved ones.

When they finally returned to their suite, quite late in the evening, Selina had to massage her cheeks and face, since it felt cramped by the constant smile she had plastered on her lips all day long, hoping for the old ladies to like her even more and talk, if they knew something of course. Sebastian was used in acting like that but even he looked tired by today's show.

"I never liked old people…" He sighed taking off his jacket and shoes and after making sure they were not being stalked at the moment.

Selina chuckled from behind the dressing screen to where she had ran immediately after entering the room, in order to get rid of the damned corset that squeezed the breath out of her. "Well… actually you do not like people… full stop."

Sebastian looked towards her. "Yes, but just like little children, old people are too capricious, and the rest of the world must satisfy their every whim, because they are too young and cute, in the case of children, or too old and senile, in the case of old people, to go against them. I really do not understand…" He said as his eyes were following again every movement Selina did in the darkness of her dressing corner.

"Well, to be honest, I never expect you to understand since it is not your kind's nature to care for offsprings or predecessors… it's just not in you anymore." She shrugged her shoulders and then pulled her nightgown over her head. "Anyway, these old women, four of them at least, have something very peculiar. Although everything on them showed that of course they are pretty old, when they talked about their husbands their aura changed… I could say it became that of a… younger woman, a lot younger. You must be feeling it too." She received an agreeing sound coming from Sebastian. "Right, so I think we should find a way to investigate them more, but to do that we have to pull Bates away from the resort for a while… Hey, do you think he would be interested if we told him that young master is thinking of a business deal with him, and then you ask him to go somewhere else and discuss it or make a telephone contact with our master? Sebastian?" She called when she did not get an answer.

Right at that moment, two strong arms hugged and pulled her back, colliding her with a hard chest. One hand, pulled her hair to the right revealing the left side of her neck to the hungry mouth that immediately started planting kisses and small seductive bites on the soft flesh, the familiar tongue tracking flaming paths. Without releasing her waist, the left hand found and pulled untying the ribbon on her chest releasing the light cloth that slipped off her shoulder, the next place ravaged by hot kisses. All the while the right hand was travelling up and down her body showing a particular preference to the inside of her thigh. Soon both hands found their way to her round breasts, not too small or big but a perfect fit for the masculine palms with the long, slender, black nailed fingers that already started their caresses.

Selina was left speechless and breathless by the sudden sensual assault. She had her back turned towards the bigger opening the screen made, and it never crossed her mind she would not sense Sebastian approaching. Either she was too focused on laying out a plan of action or Sebastian used all his demonic stealth to get to her without a sound… just like the cats he so much loved.

"Se-Sebastian… what… what are you doing? You-you said we are not being watched…" Selina managed to whisper breathlessly in between gasps caused by the demon's touch and kiss; her hands feebly trying to pry his from her breasts.

"At that moment we were not… but now…" He practically groaned in her ear in a voice heavy with lust – impressing Selina with the level of his acting skills – right before he placed a finger on her chin and gently turned her head left where his lips captured hers in a searing, deep kiss.

Without leaving her lips, he slowly turned her to face him and then his hands took hold of her shoulders, pulling her nightgown further down. Soon the cloth had reached her elbows leaving her chest naked for Sebastian's eyes to feast greedily, when he allowed Selina to take a breath.

"Lovely, so lovely!" She heard him say but could not decipher to what he referred as her mind was getting foggier.

Before all reason fled from her mind, Selina mustered all her self-control to ignore Sebastian's lips devouring the right side of her neck and her shoulder with the same fervour as before, or his hands hitching up her gown and discovering the thin layer of underwear hugging her hips, rear and front only.

"Wai-wait… honey…" She said a little loud getting in her role too. "Let us go to bed and… pull the curtains… I will feel more comfortable, that no one can see us."

"No one sees us, love, but if that makes you more relaxed." Sebastian answered equally loud and then lower with evident mischievousness in his voice, an identical twinkle in his eyes and a smirk on his lips. "But first let us get rid of this… rather interesting I must say, future underwear, shall we?"

Selina's eyes flew open in utter surprise as she heard and felt the cloth being ripped apart by his hands and thrown on the floor right where she was standing. She was not given the time to respond as these same hands took hold of the back of her thighs and pulled her legs up wrapping them around the demon's waist. The only thing Selina could do was instinctively wrap her arms around his neck and squeeze her body on his to keep her balance. Her naked breasts touched Sebastian's bare chest, as his shirt hung half unbuttoned, loosely on his body; vest and tie already discarded on the floor on his way to circle his prey. That small friction of bare flesh caused man and woman to gasp while staring at each other, their faces inches apart.

Sebastian's eyes were fully on demonic mode, pupils turned to slits, red irises burning brighter than ever and hooded lids with beautiful long lashes giving him the look of being high on some delicious drug, more than every other time trying to seduce Selina; now he gave off a vibe he was ready to lose all control and willingly abandon himself in the arms of a sweet seductress. Selina was looking at him and felt her whole body trembling and her bones ready to melt, in the thought of how much she desired for the look on his face to be real and for her to be that seductress.

Stunned by her sudden acceptance, that she truly desired to have this man - even though having the knowledge he was not actually real - and this feeling was not something his games had imposed on her mind, as she thought at first, but something she herself craved so strongly that made her feel so dizzy, she did not realise his quick strides that took them to bed, not before she found herself laid on the mattress watching Sebastian untying the curtains from the bedposts and spreading them so that they circled the bed.

These curtains were very thin, more like mosquito net, and Selina realised her last trick for getting herself out of this awkward situation was in vain, as she still could clearly see the wall opposite the bed from where even she could hear Peeping Tom, Mr. Bates, breathing heavily in anticipation of the show Sebastian had put in motion. When she suggested going to bed and pulling the curtains, she really hoped they would be thick enough to obscure the man's view of them and so they would be able to not further engage in intimate activities. Activities she knew Sebastian would perform out of duty, so perfectly making it difficult for her not to respond earnestly, as she was not that good of an actress, and would lead to a new Sebastian, more arrogant than before, thinking he would have her in the palm of his hand toying with her however he saw fit.

That prospect always made Selina furious, as she thought it would mean her defeat by a demon, something she had never allowed herself and was not willing to allow now, not ever; not to Sebastian, a powerful demon that had stated he found humans revolting when having sex, but nevertheless was willing to use it as a weapon to get information as he did in the circus… For some reason, that always made her even more furious and determined not to lose. Yes, she might just have admitted to herself that she really wanted, desired Sebastian but… he did not have to know that, ever… and she had to find a way to stop him so that he will never discover, as she was certain he would get the truth out of her body as he almost did in the train.

"What are you doing?" His question made her jump out of her thoughts as she was pulling her nightgown back in place and covering her body.

She continued struggling to tie her ribbon with trembling hands. "I am straightening my clothes. We are behind the curtains… Yes, Bates can still see us but if we lie down, maybe hug each other and just make some noises, he will pleasure himself for the night and then stop watching. See? We do not have to push ourselves to do things we do not have to or want to." She now turned to him with closed eyes and a smile on her lips.

"Oh, really? And you really thought you would get away with that? My clever… little… sweet… witch." He said with a deep throaty chuckle.

If anyone feels hot by now... It's the springtime, for sure! *flapping my eyelashes innocently* :P

Joking aside, I'm still impressed and utterly embarrassed with myself for writing these scenes and the ones that will follow. I didn't really believe I had it in me! :O But, please, let me know what you think. Have I managed to depict Sebastian properly as the temptation on legs that he is?

Irrelevant, but I just realised I have never included hats when describing characters' outfits or anything related to clothes (as in Sebastian removing coat, gloves etc.) I guess I unconcsiously skipped them because I'm not a hat person. No harm done, right? Let's just all pretend that Selina and Sebastian wear proper Victorian hats according to their status, right? :P

Thanks again everyone and... Till next time! Bye!
