Opening File: Diamond Battle Mode
As the grand rulers of the Gem race the Diamonds are worshiped as literal deities by their subjects, believed to be the most powerful beings in the universe. Unfortunately found that to be almost true, especially during the Rebellion. The battles between the rebels, the Grimm, the Racing Drones and so many other factions that appeared to challenge the Diamond Authority during that time forced the Diamonds to realize that for the first time their supremacy was threatened. It began with the Grimm easily destroying Gems, infecting their light based bodies with the Dark Substance.
Then the rebels led by Rose Quarts who grew in numbers until the Crystal Gems had a vast army with the Asgardians as their main allies. The Racing Drones then came, destroying both Homeworld and Crystal Gems to harvest their technology and their remains as a source of energy. The other factions such as the Cybertronians appeared later, using Earth as ground zero for what became an interstellar conflict that spanned across the cosmos. Finally when Pink Diamond was shattered in what appeared to be a cowardly assassination the Diamonds lost their patience, furious at the loss of their sister and sought to destroy all their enemies once and for all.
It began with the forging of their own personal weapons: Galaxy Storm for Yellow Diamond, Rainfall for Blue Diamond and Starlight for White Diamond. While Yellow Diamond would personally lead Homeworld's armies Blue Diamond often accompanied her when she was not coordinating their armies. With each battle, the Diamonds grew in skill with their new weapons, mastering them quickly in an alarmingly short amount of time. They fought with the Elementals, Rose Quartz and even the God of Thunder himself, Thor.
Through these battles, the Diamonds sought out ways to destroy their enemies, experimenting with their weapons and powers and soon enough learned a new technique that made them more powerful and more dangerous than ever before. Like all Gems, the bodies of the Diamonds are made of light and energy that allows them to take physical form but the power of a Diamond is infinitely greater than all Gems to the point that it was deemed impossible to injure them or force them to retreat back into their gemstones. Also like all Gems, Diamonds could shapeshift their bodies but only a Diamond was able to change the size and rotation of their gemstones and from it the Diamonds learned how to use the shapeshifting technique they had deemed as an insult to a Gem's true form and turn it into a weapon. The Diamonds learned by compressing their bodies into smaller forms, around the normal size of an Earthling they could direct a large amount of the energy used to maintain their larger forms and channel them into their new bodies, vastly increasing their speed, strength and even their own signature powers.
Yellow Diamond's electric based powers once enhanced allowed her to enhance her speed to the point she could move as fast as lightning itself as proved in her battles with Thor. Blue Diamond's empathy based powers were enhanced to the point she could easily instill whatever emotion she sees fit not only into any Gems in her way but even into organics and it also allows her to conjure an aura that mimics the properties of water, allowing her to control and manipulate water much like a Lapis Lazuli. While it is unknown if White Diamond ever used this form it is believed her own mental based abilities were enhanced much like her fellow Diamonds.
The new type of form was named Diamond Battle Mode and it has only ever been used in the most serious of situations.

"Very well." Blue Diamond raised her scythe. "As a sign of respect for lasting this long against a Diamond I will make it quick."
'I have enough for one final attack. If I can make it count I can at least keep her distracted a little longer.' Omnimon raised his MetalGarurumon head/hand. 'Even there is no guarantee it will hit her I have to try.'
Just as Blue Diamond rushed forward a voice called out. "Dark Lance!"
Stopping and turning to the source of the voice Blue Diamond only saw eight lances shooting straight at her. Hastily spinning her scythe in her hand, Blue Diamond easily blocked the lances but left herself open as Omnimon aimed and fired.
"SUPREME CANNON!" From his MetalGarurumon mouth came a blast of ice blue energy, shooting directly at Blue Diamond who spun her scythe to block like before.
However when the attack made contact her scythe she was greeted with the shock of ice spreading along her weapon and then her arms, continuing down her entire body until she was completely frozen. Omnimon lowered his arm, seeing Blue Diamond had been frozen by the blast but that attack had taken almost everything he had.
"Hang on!" A voice called out.
Just as he fell forward two pairs of arms caught him, helping him stand up.
"That was a close call for everyone." One voice said as Omni's vision started to blur.
"We can't look for the Elementals while looking after this guy at the same time." Another voice replied.
"We can't leave him here either. We'll have to take him with us. Besides I think this is the Grimm Slayer…"
Omnimon blacked before he could hear the rest of the sentence. He was immediately dragged out of the wrecked arena, leaving the frozen statue of Blue Diamond standing in the center…
But it wasn't a statue for very long.
An azure flared from inside the ice, gathering in intensity and power as the ice started to crack until…
CRACK!
…It shattered completely, leaving an angry Blue Diamond as her aura nearly engulfed the entire arena.
"COWARDS!" Blue Diamond raged, looking everywhere to see where the intruders might have gone. "YOU DARE INVADE MY PALACE AND THEN ATTEMPT TO FLEE AT THE END OF THE BATTLE?!"
It had been a long time since Blue Diamond was ever this angry.
In fact she hadn't been this angry since the time of the Rebellion.
"You thought ice could stop me? I've learned and refined my powers for a thousand years while fighting on your planet. Ice and water are mere extensions of my will and a Diamond can survive in any hostile environment, no matter how hot or cold." Blue Diamond whispered as her aura receded.
"My Diamond."
Blue Diamond composed herself, hearing the voice of her Pearl behind her. "Yes, Pearl? Why aren't you with the Elementals?"
"I ordered them sent to the Special Zone when the intruders reached your inner chambers. Two of them organic and the other a machine. I destroyed the machine but the organics fled. One of them has shown to be capable of moving as fast as a Jet." Blue Pearl reported.
Blue Diamond took a deep breath and exhaled, straightening her posture as she faced her Pearl. "This is wonderful news. You have done well, Pearl. Has there been any word on Yellow?"
"The Sapphires reported that Yellow Diamond is still in combat with two intruders, one of them being an Asgardian." Blue Pearl answered.
"An Asgardian?" Blue Diamond raised an eyebrow, having an idea of who the Asgardian was and if she was right she needed to be there to assist Yellow. "I see. I will go and assist Yellow with the intruders. Lock down the palace at once and send word for all access codes to be deactivated except for the Diamonds and their Pearls."
"At once, My Diamond." Blue Pearl saluted and bowed.
Blue Diamond then summoned a bubble that surrounded her and it shot out of the palace, passing through the walls so no more damage was done and flew in the direction of where she sensed Yellow Diamond's presence.

"Okay, do we have any idea what is going on?"
That was only question Nigel could ask because in one minute they sleeping, the next they were taken to Blue Diamond who told them the Gem Homeworld was under attack and now they were suddenly whisked away into the Special Zone. The three were led out by their Pearls into the forest surrounding the city, instructed to remain there by Blue Pearl.
"I don't know but I think we can use this to our advantage." Abby whispered as she placed a finger on the crystal on her forehead, flinching as the crystal's energy repelled her touch. "We just need to power up and maybe we'll get them off."
"Okay but first, maybe we should change." Nigel pointed out since the Elementals were still in their sleep clothes.
"Oh…Right." Abby said, waving a hand over her crystal and in a flash of light she was wearing her normal clothes.
"Cool!" Ed waved his hand on the crystal attached to his waist by a belt and a second later he was wearing his normal clothing as well.
Once Nigel did the same and was back in his normal clothes he looked down at the crystal necklace around his neck. "All right, next step we power up."
"Power up?"
The Elementals looked at their Pearls that had been the ones who brought them to Special Zone.
"Is there something you have that needs charging?" Ice Pearl questioned.
"Uh…Sort of." Nigel sighed. "For what it's worth right now, what is about to happen isn't personal."
"What is about to happen?"
"This." Nigel and Abby's eyes flared with flames of blue, white mixed with red as they began tapping into their Elemental powers.
Their crystals immediately began absorbing their powers to keep them from becoming a threat to the Gems but the Ice and Candy Elementals continued to call on more of their power, digging deep inside the wellspring of power that had been dormant inside them for most of their lives. The surrounding trees and grass began to turn to ice and snow, streams of colors washing over them a matter of seconds later. An aura resembling what almost appeared fire but ice blue in color and was so cold it caused the air to freeze blazed into existence around Nigel as he closed his eyes, focusing on calling out the power he had been born with. Meanwhile an aura of gold formed around Abby but slowly turned into a mix of white and red as it grew in size and intensity.
The power radiating from them was so great they were lifted off the ground as gusts of wind blew forth, pushing the Pearls and Ed back and even blew Abby's hat away. The crystals continued to absorb the energy from the two Elementals but no matter how much energy they absorbed Ice and Candy continued to produce so much more it seemed that absorbing the energy to keep them compliant was no longer possible. As they continued summoning their power, Ice and Candy opened their eyes and looked directly at each other. With an almost invisible nod Nige raised his hand, reaching up to the crystal on Abby's forehead while reached for the crystal necklace around Nigel's neck.
Both crystals flared up, struggling to repel the hands attempting to remove them. They decided trying to remove their own crystals while summoning their power was more risky than trying to remove each other's crystal at the same time. They believed that by seeing their objective right in front of them it would keep them motivated and focused at the same time. The crystals continued absorb the Elemental powers while trying to repel the hands attempting to grab them.
It seemed that the crystals were now straining to absorb and repel just as much as the Elementals were now straining to project as much power as they could to become strong enough to remove the crystals while losing a great deal of power every second. The gusts surrounding them had evolved into an actual tornado that reached up and touched the sky, creating a blizzard that blasted snow, ice and a rainbow of colors across the forest, touching the nearby lake and spreading out to the city.

"What is going on?!" Yellow Technique shouted, marching into the central control room of the Yellow Division.
"There's some sort of massive energy happening near the Zone limits." A technician answered. "It's unlike anything I've ever seen before."
"Get in contact with the other Division leaders now!" Yellow Technique ordered, looking at the sudden multi-colored blizzard on the main screen. "And inform Holly Blue what has happened."

"Alert. Alert. Alert."
Bonnibel and Della glanced at the klaxons as they started sounding.
"What is happening?" U-Twelve turned to one of the lab workers.
"An energy surge on the edge of the zone."
A holographic image appeared, showing what could only be described as a tornado of snow and ice and yet had multiple colors like a rainbow that grew in size.
"Blue Power has ordered the city shield activated and everyone to their quarters." Shope suddenly spoke, receiving orders through her flashing earrings.
U-Twelve, Bonnibel and Della could hear the orders through their earrings as well.
Bonnibel stared at the image, instantly recognizing what was happening. 'Nigel and Abby must be enacting their plan to try and break free. I knew the Elementals were powerful from the many myths and legends surrounding them but this…If they are not careful they might destroy everyone here.'
And yet if they succeeded it was the first stage in escaping the Zone and the Gem Homeworld.
'First I must deactivate the stasis field around Eddy and then escape.' Bonnibel thought, sharing a look at Della who seemingly caught on.
The duck Mobian moved quietly towards the stasis field, reaching out to the main computer keeping it active…
"What are you doing?" Della stopped and looked over her shoulder, seeing the girl named Shope staring at her.
"I'm…uh…Making an adjustment…" Della said, just reaching with her right foot which was actually a mechanical foot and smashed the controls.
"WHAT?!" U-Twelve exclaimed as the stasis field short circuited, causing smoke to rise and cover the entire room. "STOP THEM!"
Bonnibel quickly grabbed Eddy, pulling him to his feet and ran with Della out the door while everyone else was still confused and disorientated.
"AFTER THEM!"

'Rolf can handle one more day without meat. Rolf can handle one more day without meat. Rolf can handle one more day without meat.'
Sleep was almost impossible for Rolf and it wasn't just because he was on an alien world far from home. While things were bad, being kidnapped by aliens and trapped in another dimension was not the worst of Rolf's problems.
The worst was…Rolf had gone almost three days with no MEAT!
"Rolf can go one more day without the sweet flesh draped in fat like Papa's therapeutic truss! Yes, surely the Son of a Shepard can whether this small problem. Yes, how can Rolf be a man if Rolf cannot handle a few days without…the love of…mammal flesh?" Rolf was shaking now, a tear actually slipping from his right eye.
They had no meat here.
Just weird shaped fruits.
No meat.
Fruit made from plants meant to fill the belly for a whole day.
No meat.
They never hunted here.
No meat.
They grew their food from weird crystal plants.
No…meat.
No MEAT!
NO MEAT!
"THE BURDEN OF VEGETARIANISM IS TOO GREAT FOR ROLF!" Rolf wailed as he was trembling ever harder now, like a drug addict going through withdrawal.
His words echoed throughout the whole of the Special Zone, making many glance up in confusion as they made their way to their quarters. Rolf shot up, looking out the window and saw the blizzard outside of the city that temporarily stopped his manic withdrawal.
"Blizzard…ice and snow…Ice Fire Nigel and Hat Wearing Abby are trying to escape!" Rolf's consorted into a gigantic smile with a slightly manic look in his eyes as he shot out of his room and ran out of the building. "ROLF IS COMING SWEET FLESH OF THE MAMMALS!"

"Rolf's weird, huh Plank?" Jonny asked his best 'friend' before looking out the window. "So what do you think that is, buddy?"

"Nigel and Abby are using their Elemental powers to break free of the crystals meant to keep them from using their powers?" Jonny asked.

…
"You think so?" Jonny grinned. "You think we'll be able to escape now?"

"Let's go buddy!" Jonny said, running out the door.

When Monty returned to his room he had planned to get a full night's sleep, once he had done what he always did before going to bed since arriving:
Training.
On the first night he had checked his room for any sort of monitoring device, even though he knew Gems were very advanced. Still when he spent more than half the night training the first time nothing happened so it was safe to assume he was in the clear. The exercises he had done consisted of bent knee sit ups, pushups, meditation and other various workouts he had done for several hours before going to sleep while making sure he went to sleep had a reasonable time. It had been a while since he trained this hard, even when he had been training Omnimon, Nigel and Abby but even though it was only on the third night the results were starting to show.
His body was already more muscular and slimmer that he managed to keep hidden and he could feel his old strength returning. This was all done in preparation for when they would make their escape and he didn't have to wait much longer.
While meditating he sensed a surge of great power and looked out the window, seeing the multi-colored blizzard in the distance.
"Well done kids." Monty said, smiling as he stood up. "I believe it is time for all of us to leave."

Gritting their teeth Nigel and Abby continued struggling to overpower the crystals…
Until one hand finally broke through.
The ice aura surrounding Nigel's hand actually began to freeze the barrier surrounding the crystal on Abby's forehead. The power of the Ice Elemental bringing the temperature around the energy field down to absolute zero but it wasn't just freezing the barrier it was literally destroying the energy meant to protect the crystal. Nigel finally grabbed the crystal and pulled it off Abby's forehead, freezing it and shattering it a second later. Upon seeing Nigel grab and destroy her crystal Abby was more than motivated to grab his crystal and destroy it.
Without her crystal absorbing her powers anymore Abby was free to channel all of it into breaking the crystal around Nigel's neck that struggled to protect itself.
Still Abby had no intention of giving up.
Not now.
Not ever.
She was doing this to make a point.
To the Diamonds holding them here.
To the Saytra back home who she considered the reason her family fell apart.
To the monster that took her parents from her.
To the Fallen and Sammael himself who would one day come for her, for Nigel, for Ed and would gladly get rid of anyone who stood in his way.
Abigail Lincoln was done running.
She was done being afraid.
She was done feeling like everything was her fault.
She was done with all of that.
So she let out a scream as she focused all of her energy on the energy barrier surrounding Nigel's crystal, her aura slipping through and grabbing the crystal. With all of her might Abby ripped the crystal necklace off of Nigel and threw it away.
It was done!
They were free!
As soon as the last crystal was pulled away both Elementals dropped to the ground, the icy tornado surrounding them fading away. They landed softly on the ground, the remnants of their Elemental powers slowing their fall to the point they felt like they were landing in a bed made of feathers.
They were both too weak to move…
"Nigel? Abby?" Ed leaned over the two. "Are you okay?"
"Uh…." Abby suddenly chuckled, looking very dazed. "Hi, Ed…There's three of you…That nice."
"Three of me?" Ed looked back and forth, not seeing any more him. "I don't see more me."
Abby started giggling now. "You were looking right at them!"
"Are you all right, My Elemental?" Candy Pearl came into view, looking very concerned after what had just happened.
"I'm…fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine." Abby answered, stretching out the word 'fine'. "I'm the Candy Elemental!"
"Uh…I know?" Candy Pearl replied, not sure what to make of what was going on.
Nigel wasn't much better, snickering slightly and looking just as light headed as Abby. "Wow, Ed…You got one big eyebrow and no chin…That's funny."
"…." Ed glanced up his unibrow and then down at his none-existence chin, oddly silent for a moment.
"What is happening to them?" Ice Pearl asked, having never seen this behavior in Earthlings before.
"I suspect that it may be a direct result of that rather dramatic demonstration of power." Candy Pearl offered. "I am not exactly sure how to properly explain it."
"I can."
The Pearls and Ed spun around, watching as Monty approached with Abby's hat in his hand. "The magical powers of the Elementals are virtually unlimited but when these two summoned up so much of that power without proper training they can only handle it so long before they become delirious. It's like the overuse of a Semblance which can come in many forms such as losing consciousness, headaches and even becoming delirious."
Abby sat up, giggling now as she looked at Monty. "H-Hi…I think I know you…Aren't that guy who likes…likes…likes sh-shoes?" Abby threw her head back as she laughed.
"…" Candy Pearl caught her but she then slipped through the Gem's arms and back into the ground.
"Thanks Pearl…" Abby snickered.
"You are…welcome."
"Well, we'd best be off." Monty suggested, picking Nigel up. "I know you wish to serve these three but being here is not going to help them at all. I ask you to help them by taking us back to Earth."
"Back to Earth?" The Pearls asked at the same time, glancing at each other.
"Can we?"
"We are meant to serve the Elementals."
"But what about the Diamonds?"
"What about the invasion going on?"
"Invasion?" Monty cut in. "What invasion?"
