"You were able to infiltrate the computers of the Hall of Heroes in your previous form." Professor Pericles said, addressing the digital being known as Devimon and his associate Jimmy. "We need your help to sneak back in and obtain something from their vault."
"Really? And why would we do that?" Devimon asked, amused by the owl's request. "What you want is hardly any of our concerns."
"Perhaps not but we are willing to pay you handsomely for your services." Pericles replied. "My mistress is a Lady of Chaos, a being of immense magical power. You need this boy's emotions, specifically his negative emotions to continue growing stronger, do you not?"
"And what of it?" Devimon asked.
"Aid us in retrieving our treasure and we will create a magical link between the two of you to further enhance the bond you seek to make." Pericles answered. "You could truly become more powerful than simply being near the boy."
Devimon considered this, wondering if the owl could do as he had said. A true bond with Jimmy would likely lead the boy to becoming his true partner and thus would allow him to keep digivolving until he reached the Mega Level.
"And what makes you so sure we can do that without alerting the Justice Friends?" Devimon asked as it was wise to be cautious against a powerful enemy.
"At the moment the majority of the Justice Friends are out evacuating towns and villages in and between the Wilds and Nowhere Kansas due to an approaching army of Grimm. The likes of which have not been seen for thousands of years." Pericles answered. "Only a few have been left on monitor duty. It is the perfect chance to strike. So, do we have a deal?"
Devimon grinned. "It's not wise to make a deal with the devil."
"Perhaps not…but we are not so innocent and pure ourselves." Pericles retorted with a cocky smirk that shouldn't be seen on an owl.
Jimmy raised a hand. "Excuse me, I have one question."
"Yes?"
"Can we kill the flame and wind warriors?" Jimmy asked in a voice filled with hate for the two Legendary Warrriors.
"…I don't see why not."

"Personal Log: Van Kleiss recording. At long last I am prepared."
Van Kleiss grinned as he beheld the sphere that held billions of glowing lights inside it in front of him that he kept in his personal lab. There were too many light to count and they all looked like a swarm of insects flying around.
This is what it had been leading up to.
"My so-called partnership with Sammael, gathering new Pack members from across the multi-verse, integrating the nanites of my own A.M.A.Z.O. into my being after it had collected the data of countless super beings. And now the EVO virus which I sought to unleash on my Earth only it has been upgraded and modified into what I now call the I.N.R.I. which stands for Igne Natura Renovatur Integra. Now I may be a scientist and having never gone to church this is Latin for 'By fire, nature is restored to purity' which in a sense will purify the world." Van Kleiss grinned as he beheld the glowing sphere that was the size of an ordinary basketball. "It will work by not only infecting organics and mutating them into EVOs it will rewrite their DNA, changing their very structure of their bodies to mimic a specific EVO, whipping out all emotions and enslaving their minds to a single central guiding intelligence…Mine."
Van Kleiss was grinning heavily after he said that last word. "But this time it won't stop at this Earth…Ever since I discovered the ability to travel the multi-verse I used the drones created by my A.M.A.Z.O. I found whatever we do in one universe is…meaningless for whatever we do, on this Earth or ours for in another universe an opposite decision is made. And there is not just one multiverse but in face many of them as there are limitless universes in creation itself. This world exists as a branch between several multiverses that have converged together, forming a sort of nexus point that can actually work to determine the outcome of several universes and multiverses, no doubt caused by my tampering or perhaps something more. Many beings on this world come from not only different universes but also from different multiverses."
A holographic image appeared before Van Kleiss, showing a multitude of worlds with some resembling Earth and others similar but different.
"On one world, humans are the oppressed while Faunus and Mobians are the oppressors." He pointed to one and then to another. "This one, humanity wipes itself out in World War II as the Grimm finally forced them all into extinction."
"Here, many of the so-called heroes are criminals and gangsters."
"Here, the Satyra starts a war that ends in the extinction of humans but the war leaves Earth heavily polluted and causes the end of all life."
"Here, the Faunus and Mobians are animals instead of humans. And this is just from this multiverse." Van Kleiss brought up another multiverse. "Here, a series of realities that is more cartoonish than real with some even connected to my universe."
"Kids wielding some sort of 2/4 technology that is utterly impossible to exist with a base on the moon of all things."
"Those Powerpuff Girls existing there, protecting their city as usual."
"A reality where a boy named Dexter keeps a secret lab in his house somehow having built without needing funding for all the equipment and no idea where it all came from."
"A cluster of realities where a man named Rick Sanchez is the smartest being in existence to the point multiple versions of himself form a multiverse alliance with just only a handful of them refusing."
"A world where three boys conduct scams…Curiously their multiverse shows some different and interesting universes. One where the one called Ed becomes a werewolf, the one named Edd but goes by Double D becomes a vampire werewolf hybrid of all things and the one called Eddy becomes a monster hunter. On another Earth, they and their cul-de-sac kids go to an academy for assassins. Here, the one called Double D becomes a vampire and his friends struggle with that idea that the only solution left is killing him." Van Kleiss points to the one that interested him more. "Here is where these neighborhood kids lived in different time periods and died, living in purgatory and wandering the earthly plain for eternity. And the last one that sticks out is where the children named Ed, Edd and Eddy all have multiple superhuman powers and used an inner power called Ki to protect the Earth against threats."
And that wasn't even covering the different multiverses somehow connected to this one.
"But these are not the ones I want. For out there is one universe that I call 'Universe Prime'. It's not a cluster of multiple into a single type like this one. This lone universe is the very universe that started all of creation and responsible for the creation of every universe and multiverse in existence. After I destroy Sammael and the Zero Squadron and take their own dimensional technology I will travel to Universe Prime and release my virus on that universe's version of Earth and the effect will transmit across all existence as every universe, every realm and every corner of existence will be changed into an EVO slaved to my will." Van Kleiss continued. "And if the virus has some trouble infesting the life forms of certain universes I have already thought ahead. The nanite virus will created a super hyper collider machine that upon activation will created a black hole so massive it will suck those universes into nothing. To make it short, I will go to Universe Prime and release I.N.R.I., spreading it across the realms of creation infecting all life forms to serve me and for those that fight back their universe will be eliminated."
To illustrate his point Van Kleiss reached out to one of the holographic Earths and crushed it in his golden gauntlet.
"Reality will be mine." Van Kleiss grinned malevolently. "No can stop me..."

"Not even Sammael."
The very being whose name had been uttered by his former 'partner' grinned suddenly from a darkened room on the Grimm Galleon.

Van Kleiss was about to prepare to unleash this virus when the lights dimmed suddenly and he spun around, sensing…something behind him.
It…He had a skull reminiscent of Egyptian burial masks, but far more dilapidated and skeletal. He had orange flesh, purple eyes with blue whites and pink hair, and he wore a dark green Egyptian pharaoh robe with yellowish green gauze around his shoulders. Burnt tangerine hair protruded from his skull.
"Return the slab." This being spoke in an ethereal voice.
"What are you?" Van Kleiss questioned, raising his gauntlet.
"Return the slab or suffer my curse!" The being said, seemingly ignoring Van Kleiss' question.
"And what curse would that be?" Van Kleiss questioned.
"This night, you will be visited by three plagues. Each wore than the last. Return the slab!" The being demanded again.
"Hmph! I don't know who you think you are but here I give the orders and the warnings. Now you can surrender now or make your move. Your choice." Van Kleiss grinned as he prepared to attack.
That was when the most unexpected thing happened.
A surge of energy shot through the entire base and Van Kleiss screamed in agony as the surge shot through his body. "GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
He felt the energy affecting his nanites, altering their very programing and causing the power that they had amassed for their master to surge out of control. Through it all, Van Kleiss struggled to keep himself from being torn apart.
'What is happening?!' Van Kleiss thought as he made a self-diagnostic of himself. 'The nanites from A.M.A.Z.O….their programming it being altered by this energy surge!'
Turning around, Van Kleiss watched in horror as the container for his I.N.R.I. virus shattered and the nanites inside were splattered across the floor, dying seconds later. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
He rushed over to the main computer and used the scanners to see what was happening. The screen showed what looked like a dome energy field being projected around all of the Nowhere Mountains.
'It's some sort of force field being projected from four different points all around the mountains that my sensors couldn't detect until now!' Van Kleiss screamed in his mind as he realized what had happened. 'Sammael! That bastard! This is HIS DOING!'
"DAMN YOU, SAMMAEL!"
"Return the slab."
Van Kleiss turned around just in time to be greeted with an actual wave of water that slammed into him and flooded the entire command deck.

"Hey why is it so quiet in here?!"
"Scotty?"
Scotty Blake of Team SEKR entered the briefing room in the Hall of Heroes, followed by the rest of his team. "That's me, Scotty the Scotsman! Now where is everyone else?! We're supposed to be gathering for the big attack on that Kleiss guy."
Valhallen, who had been left on monitor duty for the time being, turned around while playing a few strings on his guitar. "Glory, Krunk and Bullet rushed out to help evacuate the towns closest to the Grimm army approaching Nowhere. They want to clear the civilians out before the Grimm army arrives. You guys didn't get the call?"
"Actually we did but we figured everyone would be ready by now." Extor answered.
"Well, we hit a snag. Superboy took off when he got…a telepathic message from a friend of his being held somewhere in Louisiana." Valhallen replied. "Artemis went with him."
"What about Spell and Phan-Tone?" Keanu asked.
"Talking with the boy that came with them from Gravity Falls. His parents were put through the ringer and there is talk of them going into Witness Protection." Vahallen answered.
"And Tiger?" Rino asked.
"He and Dwayne went after Superboy and Artemis. They may be tough but it's a good idea to have a full team, even in Louisiana."
"Am I starting to think this is being put off?" Scotty groaned. "We got to move on Kleiss now!"
"I have to agree with Scotty, Valhallen. Van Kleiss sent a group after us and they kidnapped Raven and the Bagge family." Extor agreed.
Valhallen perked up at that. "Seriously?"
"Yeah. We think he's going after the ones who escaped him." Scotty nodded.
"Oh boy." Valhallen rubbed his head. "I better tell Kazemon, Lowemon and Aldamon about this. And I better get in touch in SAM-R-I if he's still in Japan along with Tiger."
"Where's Team BATL?" Extor asked.
"They went to help evacuate a town that was really close to the approaching Grimm. They should be back in the afternoon." Valhallen answered. "We're not trying to put this off but we got to get as many innocent people away from this as possible."
"He's got a point, boss." Keanu pointed out. "We're aching to go to save the little bird but can we actually make her the bigger priority?"
Scotty grumbled and was about to speak when a voice stopped him. 'Don't worry about me.'
Everyone stopped, hearing Raven's voice speaking from…all around them.
"Raven?" Extor asked.
'Yeah, it's me.'

Raven had her eyes closed as she continued to fight Grodd's attempt to enter her mind. 'They're trying to probe my mind, learn my powers and try to turn me into a weapon like they did the others. I can hold off long enough for you guys to get everyone out of harm's way.'
Outside the lab she was being kept in she could hear rushing waves of waters flooding the hallways. Grodd had sealed the lab and continued his work on trying to break the young Titan with his mind powers but found that task to be most challenging.

"Lass, we're coming to get ya." Scotty reached for his sword.
'Only after you've gotten all the innocents out of the way.' Raven's voice stopped him. 'They might think they're wearing me down but I have been able to probe my interrogator's own mind without him knowing. Listen, Van Kleiss has not just set up an army he's got four of what he calls ion cannons almost ready and with it a virus.'
Everyone froze at that before Extor spoke their thoughts. "A virus?"
'Yes, he's planning to use the ion cannons to destroy and cripple every major country in the world and as soon as he does that he'll unleash a virus that'll mutate everyone in what he and his top goons are: EVOs.'
"Then we have no time!" Scotty barked.
'Yes you do. The ion cannons won't be operational at least a day before the Grimm reach the Nowhere Mountains. And there's something else…'
In their minds appeared Van Kleiss banging on his console.
"Damn you, Sammael!" He barked madly.
"What can we do?" Biowulf asked.
Van Kleiss stood up, his eyes flashing with golden light. "Find what is projecting this barrier around us and destroy it!"
An invisible force field surrounded Nowhere Mountains, projected from four different locations surrounding the mountains.
"A barrier?" Valhallen asked when the vision ended.
'Yes. Sammael set up some kind of barrier that only recently activated. He likely installed it when Van Kleiss set up shop in the mountains and just now activated it.' Raven surmised. 'It's keeping him from unleashing the virus and keeping him trapped and heavily weakened. He can't even portal out now.'
"Smart move. He must have anticipated Van Kleiss betraying him long ago." Keanu remarked.
"And now that he's ready he doesn't want Van Kleiss unleashing the virus, attacking the rest of the world or even fleeing." Rino agreed.
'There something else.'
In their minds flashed the image of a male teen who could morph his body into any form of technology imaginable.
'He can offer projection from the virus. He cured his entire world before Van Kleiss came here.' Raven instructed. 'I'll hold them here. You get everyone to safety. Come for me after that.'
"Lass!" Scotty protested.
'I have to go. I'll be fine. Save everyone.' Raven finished, ending her telepathic call.
"Dang it!" Scotty banged the table. "She just has to play the hero!"
"Because she is a hero." Keanu reminded.
"Shut it!"

Wendy Corduroy wiped some sweat from her forehead as she lowered her axe. "Man, am I getting rusty?"
"Probably from me not being around long enough and your dad going easy on you."
The person who spoke was a very muscular man who was dressed like a lumberjack much like Wendy. With him was a beaver Mobian wearing a yellow helmet, a pair of goggles, gloves and a scarf.
This was veteran Huntsmen and Wacky Racer Rufus Roughcut and his partner Sawtooth.
"My dad going easy on me?" Wendy asked, lifting her axe over her shoulder. "You really haven't been around enough, Uncle Rufus."
"Yeah but I am here now. Your dad filled me on your crazy adventures and wanted me around to help toughen you up faster." Rufus said with a smile. "Come on, your dad was wrestling grizzly bears at your age!"
"I'm not my dad." Wendy scoffed, rolling her eyes. "I know you guys want me tough but I am not sure if I am Huntress material. For one: I hate responsibility."
"Is this a teenage girl thing? Because I am not going anywhere near that." Rufus shuddered.
Sawtooth rolled his eyes. "You would have to if you asked her mom out before her dad did."
"Barf!" Wendy shuddered and then threw a look at Rufus. "Look, I know you have history with my mom but do you have to bring her up every time you're here?"
"Sorry." Rufus shrugged with a bashful look on her face. "It's hard not to think about her, especially when you look just like her, you little firecracker."
That's right; Rufus Roughcut is not only a friend of her dad but also someone who had a big crush on her mom back in the good old days.
They both competed to date her but that hadn't really been necessary.
All they had to do was ask her out which Manly Dan did, earning the title 'Manly' that day.
"You act like her too. Too cool for everything around her." Rufus continued.
"Let me guess, you guys decided who should ask my mom out cause she was hot?" Wendy rolled her eyes.
Rufus laughed. "Haha! Far from it, we were making a bet and your dad lost cause your mom terrified us! Even your old man back then was nervous when I knew he had a crush on her."
"Seriously?! My dad? Scared of mom?" Wendy asked, finding that hard to believe.
Sawtooth nodded.
"Your mom was not into beef muscles but she was a Huntress and a very dangerous at that." Rufus answered. "Your dad and me, we were lumberjack Hunters. We solve everything with our fists and our muscles and she knocked us both down. Her drive to be the best…It's what I see in you now, Wendy. But I have to wonder, why are you so focused now?"
Wendy held up her axe, looking at the reflection and for a split second she saw Tambry. "A lot of things happened since you were last here, Uncle. It's a very long story."
